Your favourite out of character movie

So most of us have some kind of standard facade around movies - people know pretty much what we'll like or won't like, but what movie do you like most that would surprise some folk.

For me ever since I watched one film a number of years ago it has remained in my top 3 movies. I love it more than Fight Club, Battle Royale, Apocalypse Now, Alien or Ran.....Which is crazy considering it's a romantic movie.

Thing is, this romantic movie is soooooo perfect that I, in my young 20s at the time, had tears in my eyes by the end.

It's French, whimsical, with lilting music. In some parts it's just a bit weird but throughout it's so utterly brilliant that I can't deny it. I saw a TV advert for an airing of it earlier today and it made my heart flutter...A heart that likes a good snapped elbow or bloody swordfight.

Maybe it's cos Audrey Tautou is perfect in it....

I'd rather watch AMELIE over Godfather, Scarface or any other "guy" movie any day.

Jessica Tandy and Kathy Bates are great in that
