So I have my gaming computer setup again and am thinking about this. Gets a horrible review on Polygon. Thoughts?

It's a good game and the core mechanics work really well but the story is way too long. It ran out of steam for me but I'll probably go back to it to finish when my interest returns.

It's kind of both, but this is the first game that has made me genuinely anxious if I have to go outside at night.

Really enjoying this so far. About 25% in (just about to head to Sector 0) and havings tons of fun. Story kind of reminds me of a zombified Far Cry 3 with elements of the Last of Us. My only complaint is that it's really easy to die, and lose a ton of survivor points as a result. There was one mission where I had to climb the inside of a tower, and it literally took me an hour (took maybe five minutes on my successful attempt). I kept plummeting to my death and lost a shitload of survivor points which was annoying.

Also, a word of warning, I got hit with the character reset glitch at 22% in. I lost all my skills, inventory, XP, everything. It kind of turned out to be a blessing because I dedicated an entire day to just roaming, fighting, doing air drop runs and side quests to level up again which was super fun, but if you don't want this to happen to you, make sure you don't quit the game immediately after sleeping. Talk to a NPC or something first, anything so that the save icon appears, then you can quit afterwards.

This game goes from fun to interesting to scary as fuck within minutes. And then back to fun and so on.

Completed the story the other day and 80% completion overall. Think I've just about gotten everything I want to out of the game after 50 hours >_>

Ending spoilers:

Was anybody else disappointed? I really wasn't expecting a happy ending, especially under the circumstances. My biggest gripe is that there was no payoff to the ongoing story arch of Crane possibly turning. His 'fits' were so prominent that I kind of expected him to turn and then eat Rais. I had that in my head all along and anything else was going to be a disappointment >_>
