  1. well it was drawing around 5 mil viewers in its timeslot.. ranked every week in the top 30 programmes on British TV.. so yes it was drawing well.. quite well.

After furthur research, I have discovered that it was axed due to severe budget cuts at ITV... shame really.

BTW why does everyone consider it rubbish?

Nothing about it was perfect.. but I really thought the acting was decent and the storylines were quite cool/original.

  2. Thanks.. yep American.... Yea Hannah Spearritt is a plus in anything.. definitely hot..

Now I know her from S Club 7 when I was much younger.. is there anything else I need to check out her in?

I do like the newer cast, just hate that things had to change... whoa!!

I run across this in another window, while checking my spelling... and am quite pissed

On 15 June 2009, ITV announced that they had cancelled the show and that there would not be a fourth series. At the same time, it was suggested that the production team would attempt to keep "Primeval alive in other ways."

An ITV spokesman is quoted as saying:

"After three very successful series of Primeval there are no plans at the present time for it to return to ITV. High-quality drama remains a key part of the ITV schedule although our current focus is on post-watershed productions."

Can someone tell me why they would cancel one of the best shows they have?

Although the keeping it alive in other ways... could that be the long awaited US spinoff or a new feature film?

I was curious as to why this was starting to air on SCIFI here in the states.. but if it was to be a cancelled programme then they musta signed the syndication deal early and knew they had three years of episodes ready for them....son of a bitch..

  3. From what I've read on the movie and having seen pictures and the trailer, here's what I think so far:

    The good:

Casting Dennis Quaid as Hawk. Top notch choice.

Except for some minor things (like the Arishkage clan symbol being on his uniform and sword), Snake-Eyes looks damn near perfect.

Sienna Miller as the Baroness. Another good choice, and I'm glad they went with using her as a brunette instead of actually giving her black hair.

Larry Hama has a cameo. Sadly, its not as Tunnel Rat, though. (the character Tunnel Rat's appearance - at least for the original action figure - was based on Hama)

    The bad:

Marlon Wayans. Ugh. Easily my least favorite of the Wayans brothers.

Going off that, making Ripcord an African-American instead of using a well known member of the team who is African-American, like Stalker or Roadblock. (I can only hope they did this because Ripcord gets killed off)

Where the hell are the actual G.I. Joe uniforms?! Except for Snake-Eyes, they're all wearing something akin to urban camo (with G.I. Joe incorporated into the design) or those blasted accelerator suits, which are bad enough but make them look like black versions of Master Chief from Halo when they have the helmets on. (And they really should have given Hawk a helmet or something, because he looks about as much like Flint as he does Hawk with the black beret)

Tommy from 3rd Rock From The Sun as Cobra Commander. I'm guessing the casting director was either off his or her meds or high on Bolivian marching powder that day. (And from what I've read - haven't seen any actual pics - they've changed the helmet design and its going to look stupid)

The meh, aka I can live with it, but wish they had done better:

Storm Shadow's outfit. Wish they had gone with something more classic instead of something based on what he's been wearing in the comics lately.

Christopher Eccleston as Destro. Should have gone with someone more buff, since he makes Cobra Commander look like a wimp when standing next to him in the comics.

My prediction: This movie is going to piss me off. I was a HUGE G.I. Joe fan back in the day, and things look like it may stink on ice. I don't think it'll be a total bomb, but it won't make enough money to warrant a sequel.....unless they do a direct to video one, and you know how shit those usually are since they have lousy budgets and are usually written by total hacks.

If this much is actually wrong with this fucking movie... gahhh!! This movie is going to piss me off as much as it does you... I dont even want to go see it...

I know that sometimes things are better than the reviews.. the new Star Trek actually made me very happy ( and Im an Old school Trekkie), but this one really really seems like its gonna spit down the throats of us old fans..

  4. So is anyone else watching this? Have loved it since the beginning a few years ago...

I believe we are halfway thru series 3 on BBC AMerica and wonder if anyone enjoys it as much as I do?

I am seriously bummed by the cast changes but expect nothing less at this point.. and the previews for next week make another cast change obvious..

    Anyone discuss?

  5. This does seem to be the main issue with the game... one bad roll and the whole battle is screwed..

I have lost a few battles that way... and seen my roomie stand on the spot right before the castle to win and watch someone pass by for the win, but you know what?

Its not really a problem, since we arent supposed to win every time.. thats just the way life is.. infuriating and annoying - yes.

Still fun and makes me wanna go back and try again.. making sure it dont happen again!!

BTW Drifter.. any deck ideas you wanna pass along?

Im trying to collect em to try out when I can..

  6. I have been on a TCG/CCG swing recently online and so I decided to drag out an old PS2 game... Culdcept.

Its a Japanese hybrid of M:TG and Monopoly... and I love it!!

I got my roomie into it, and was wondering if anyone else out there has ever played it and might offer ideas, suggestions... etc.

  8. Why do they need to turn every old story in a genneric action movie these days?

Because they're out of ideas AND people will not see an 1850s detective mystery in 2009. I'm sorry. It won't happen.

I would have agreed with that statement but that was before I saw Depp in Sweeney Todd...

I believe that done properly, we WOULD go see an 1850s Detective film in 2009.

I am reserving judgement on this one til I see it.. I am a huge fan of Sherlock Holmes and do worry about this one.

  9. I was just discussing with a friend, the sheer awesomeness of rock ballads... and I thought I'd put the question to EWB. What are some of your favorites?

For me, my absolute favorite is Skid Row's I Remember You.

For more modern stuff along the same lines, the Brides of Destruction's song Only Get So Far, is pretty awesome.

    Although this one is awesome...

Warrant's "I Saw Red" might be just a touch better

  10. *I have tried this already, but could not complete it because the promotionspart of the editor got corrupted, disabling me from finishing.

Could anybody take Bill's latest data, May 2009, and cut it down so its just WWE and just WWE Superstars, separated by the three brands? Heres what I'm requesting:

-Only 3 promotions in game: WWE: RAW, WWE: SMACKDOWN, and Extreme Championship Wrestling

-Only currently signed WWE Superstars are in the game, signed to their respective brands, on written contracts, so no free agents/other workers exist

-Staff and trainers divided evenly among the 3 promotions

-Vince McMahon owns Raw, Shane McMahon owns Smackdown, and Stephanie McMahon owns ECW

-Development territories for each are all Florida Championship Wrestling

-Developmental superstars are all signed to open contracts on all 3 brands

-1 TV show per brand, as in real life

    Thanks in advance :)

I think that would be a cool project. I doubt anyone would do it though. But I'd like that as well.

Give me a few days... I might be able to clear some time to actually attempt this....

That is if Bill doesnt mind me messing with his update??

  11. Interesting... Steelers take Evander Hood... Ziggy!! A DT in round one...

    Good call boys...

Then trade away 2nd round pick to Denver... 3 picks in the third round.. ok?
