1. What award was it that Wolfmother were supposed to have won?

    Best Hard Rock Performance

(For solo, duo, group or collaborative performances, with vocals. Singles or Tracks only.)

    For Woman.

  2. Well, the way I see it is thats just semantics. Watching a film where people are being killed is acceptable because people being killed is a part of life. People die, it happens, and it's unavoidable. To compare child rape to people being killed, even in the realm of film, is to imply that kids are raped as an everyday part of life. Knowing that your 12 year old little girl will some day die, is inevitable, and something you should come to terms with. Knowing that your 12 year old little girl will some day be raped, is not.

    Cambodia says hello.

  3. It probably doesn't count because they never recorded it, but Edguy cover The Trooper live at most shows, and it is/was awesome. I dunno about better than Maiden, but definately AS good.

Thsi post makes me sad due to the fact a Strung Out/Death By Stereo 'supergroup' covered "The Trooper" on their final Australia tour show last year, but none of those fucking Aussie bastards recorded it, meaning it was lost forever. :( Strung Out had supposadely covered it a couple of times during the tour as well, but they haven't played it at any US dates. It can't be gone for good. :(

Also, try and find a cover of "The Trooper" by PandaOnPanda. They're some Japanese electro-y band It used to be on their myspace (but no longer is)...it's shockingly 'happy'.

  4. When I heard this I almost orgasmed. RATM is the band that got me into everything heavy. I just wish I could get over there. I hate everyone who is going.

    This better either:

    (a) have a DVD release

    (b) lead to an eventual final album.

  5. 8 Foot Sativa!

Okay I'm a pretty big mark for them, but they are amazingly skilled and entertaining. They are also very nice people who'll always stop for a chat. Even being the biggest metal band in the New Zealand scene, most of them still have full-time jobs to be able to financially support themselves. Hell there 4th album has been 7 months delayed now because they are trying to raise the money for the person mastering the album. I just think they really deserve it, after giving so much to their fans.

  6. Smackdown 2 is the ultimate. Missed so much high school because of it. My mate and I would just go home at lunch, and play like hour long TLC's and the like. We had it, like, almost permanently hired out of the video store, until I realized that I had spent double the money it would cost to buy it by hiring it.

  7.
Nine Inch Nails - Dead Souls (Joy Division)
Osaka Popstar & The American Legends Of Punk - Blank Generation (Richard Hell)
The Dillinger Escape Plan - Like I Love You (Justin Timberlake)
Between The Buried & Me - Us & Them (Pink Floyd)
Chris Cornell - Billie Jean (Michael Jackson)
Deadsy - Paint It Black (The Rolling Stones)
Faith No More - War Pigs (Black Sabbath)

And some others.

Blah to that preference of the covers of Blank Generation and War Pigs.

In regard to Blank Generation, I can't imagine anybody doing it quite like Richard Hell. It was one of the definitive songs of the punk generation and I don't think anybody could have captured the same brilliance with it that Hell does.

Still, they are your ears so I can't say you're wrong.
8. Cos I use Last.fm, something AJ mentioned pisses me off a little, and that is when artists are listed with the featured artists on the track. I know it's more "correct", but I prefer for Last.fm to be able to actually list the artist along with the other times I've listened to them, not with a seperate thing just for that song.
  9. Other, the Monkees, they were a boy band to me goddamnit.

Hell, let's go back to the original boy band...gimme the Beatles. N'Sync and BSB could only have that many screaming girls around them in their wettest of dreams. (Well, except Lance Bass, but that's a whole other story.) :pinch:

  10. On the Hammerfall question, which actually hasn't been talked about for roughly 50posts, I might come out of left-field here, but to me their 'signature' song is 'Glory To The Brave'.

I just love that song, and it's the song I first think of when I think Hammerfall.

  11. Has sparked my interest as I find it as the most interesting time in WWE history, and I was always pulling for Mick to walk out with the WWF title at Wrestlemania 2000.

I also prefer shorter match results like you have done.

Just saying good luck, and you've got a reader in me.
