CLOSED, AND TO BE SORTED...First entrys in the list, should appear in a new thread, within a couple of hours (I've already got most of the votes sorted).
-
The bonus points rule's kinda queer if you ask me, it gives more popular albums an even bigger advantage, it's unfair on t'others.
-
Changing the rules halfway through? What kind of banana republic is this? >_>
-
So I heard them on the Rocky Horror Punk Show album covering RHPS tracks and I like them. A lot. They're neat.
I want more stuff by them. Suggestions?
-
New Rules apply. They've been put up on the top post, but I'll post them here too.
2. The second time an album appears on the list it garners 2 extra points. The third time it garners 3 extra points, this pattern continues up until the tenth time it appears on a list it garners 9 bonus points. Everytime after this it garners another 9 bonus points. This is an attempt to make it more of a consensus of EWB, then just what people voted into their first place.
9. These rules are subject to change at any time. But they will be changed for good reason
THIS PREDICTION THREAD CLOSES: MIDNIGHT GMT 11/04/06
I thought I should add number 9 seeing as it changed a couple of times now.....lol . Anyways this should be the last change to the rules, and this prediction thread closes in a weeks time. Keeping on voting. Remember you can change your votes as long as the last edit is before the closing time.
Oh and my album picks are about to change well I look over all your guys lists to see what should have made my list.
-
Through general consensus, Block Votes have been taken out. All block votes which appear in this thread will be ignored.
Also their is a slight change in the points system please see the first post to see more.
Hopefully after all this effort from everyone, this list will work itself out.

October 30, 2006 -- SHOCKINGLY enough, no one in New York wants to hear Kevin Federline rap. Our spies at Webster Hall say that so few $20 tickets have been sold for Federline's Nov. 4 show that "we may just cancel it. New Yorkers are clearly not fans of 'Popozao' [Federline's pathetic first single]." Britney Spears' hubby - who claims he is the most underatted person in Hollywood - should be used to rejection by now. We hear his Cleveland show was also canceled due to lack of interest.
-
This will now be a top 25 album list, as I think it will help the legitimacy of the list.
I'll also be thinking about the point system in the next couple of hours, Steve Mandela has an interesting idea, but I'll probably chop it up a bit, and change it a bit. I'll edit this post, and the first post with the rule changes.
And also, can I get a general consensus of block votes....Yay, or Nay. Include your opinion when you post your votes.
-
The Pogues - Fairytale of New York
And any of the Looney Tunes' "Have a Looney Tunes Christmas", that album is just class .
-
I'll add mine in tomorrow, but these struggle to work due to the fact that there is just such a variety of stuff people listen to on EWB, you get the top 5 or so which get a few votes, and the rest get 1 or 2 votes, which isn't really showcasing EWB's favourite albums, if you catch my drift.
-
I don't know if I want to use block votes. If someone likes something I don't, good for him. Maybe only if there's albums that I don't think match very well against others in the same genre/style, or are weak compared to the rest of the catalogue from the same band. That Metallica self-titled album probably fills both criteria, but I'll come back to it later if I feel like it.
-
EDIT: PLEASE NOTICE THE NEW RULES. I HAVE TRIED TO FOLLOW THE GENERAL CONSENSUS, SO HERE GOES NOTHING. THE CHANGES HAVE BEEN BOLDED.
Okay, this has probably been done before, but I think it's an interesting premise, so I'm going to do it. So Without a do:
EWB Top 25 Albums Rules:
- Everybody can vote for up to ten albums. Rank this album from 1 to 10, and the points will be as follows:
1st Place gets 10 points
2nd Place gets 9 points
3rd Place gets 8 points
4th Place gets 7 points
5th Place gets 6 points
6th Place gets 5 points
7th Place gets 4 points
8th Place gets 3 points
9th Place gets 2 points
10th Place gets 1 point
- The second time an album appears on the list it garners 2 extra points. The third time it garners 3 extra points, this pattern continues up until the sixth time it appears on a list it garners 5 bonus points. Everytime after this it garners another 5 bonus points. This is an attempt to make it more of a consensus of EWB, then just what people voted into their first place.
- You don't have to vote for ten albums, and if you don't I'll just count the ones you count, with their specific rankings. If you vote for over ten albums, I will only count the first ten in your post.
- You have NO block Votes. Any block votes casted will be ignored.
- You can only put an album on your list once, any repeat albums will only be counted by their first ranking.
- You can change your voting right up to the closing date/time which will be edited into this post at a later time, but will be roughly a week and a half away.
- It's up to you whether you put your favourite albums of the moment, or your favourite albums of all time. It's up to you guys, you make the list.
- Once this is done, I will do the typical thread revealing the results well you guys bitch about what should/shouldn't have made the album. However I won't drag this thread out.
- These rules are subject to change at any time. But they will be changed for good reason

Am I the only one that thinks Meatloaf is really, really overrated?
-
Can someone clear up to the untrained like me, What exactly is Funk music. What's it sound like? Big names in the scene? Things like that.
I haven't heard early RHCP, (or much late RHCP...lol), and I really don't know what funk is.
-
"and is the second best album to carry the Bat out of Hell name."
You like it better than the 2nd? Or 1st??
I own both on Casette, but haven't listened to them in a long time, so I forget which one's which.
-
Well to bump up this thread and talk of Meat Loaf, album's gonna be released in 5 days in NA. He also has a single out now, "It's All Coming Back To Me Now". I actually like the song quite a bit, and I plan to buy the album.
-
Well, let's see... We have got a ton of good albums already this year, my personal faves so far including Napalm Death's "Smear Campaign", Summoning's "Oath Bound" and Cattle Decapitation's "Karma.Bloody.Karma". However, my album of the year so far would be "Trample The Weak, Hurdle The Dead" by Skinless. Great brutal death metal with catchy riffing and precise drumming... And the vocals are just lovable as well. My pick thumbsup.gif

Now FIFA needs to give lifetime bans to everyone who fakes injuries.
That'll stop them.
No; that'll just stop football altogether!
I have no idea why I like this article so much.
