  1. I'm just pissed that, apparently, my normal posting style has become 'scum play'. Apparently, you are no longer allowed to be short and to the point, or make off hand comments, because if you aren't making three paragraph dissertations on why you think someone is whatever, you're not being a 'good townie'.

Oh, and I'm tired of hearing about newbie mafia too. I hardly ever read mafia games I don't play, so stop using them as reasons for me not to vote for you. If you're play in the game we're currently in makes me think you're scum, and you can point to a reason IN THAT GAME that proves me wrong, do that. Don't try to send me to read an entire other game, because I'm not.

Exactly. I know I shouldn't discuss games while they're still running, but in 3M Mafia, I make a post succinctly stating why I think C-MIL has been playing scummily and I get jumped on for not going back through the thread and digging out every little piece of evidence.

Norro posts a big angry rant on the matter which also does not include 'evidence' but is really long, has big words, and indicates Norro to be in an enraged state and people instantly agree with him and start up a C-MIL bandwagon.

Long posts in mafia games fucking suck.

  2. I want to know why this 'new breed' of mafia player (woc, Halo, etc) think that you need to post tons and tons to be a 'good townie'. Especially Halo. Dude is fucking AWFUL. I fucking hate him, and I shall kill him in every game I have a night kill in.

Ugh, it's because of the current influx of games teaching them that it's the smart way to play the game. Fuck smart, I want to go back to day 1 lynchwagons. Needless to say I dislike the current state of round discussion each lynch phase, even if it is leading to a larger amount of town wins and good play.

Which is not to say that I don't like mafia, more that the current style of play takes a lot of the fun out of it until the latter stages, especially in larger games. I can understand why some of the bigger name players are becoming frustrated, being killed on Night 1 or subjected to ridiculous reasoning for a lynch, or even having to put up with shit just because they're a big name player (see Sousa vs Maxx in Webcom IV? I think)

  3. Haha. I read this on IGN and laughed my ass off. He was abysmal in Home and Away. Admittedly he was much better in the 20 or so minutes he had in Star Trek, but I still think it's an odd casting choice.

  4. 1. Super MARIO - I was awesome. So was Sousa. We were awesome.

    2. Epic Fantasy - I was awesome. Had almost every scum pegged, and was investigating the main remaining threat the night I got converted to them, and then I fucked the town over big. If it weren't for Mysterio 2000X gaining a kill near the end, I would have won with the rest of my team.

    3. Anime Mafia - Mine and Norro's epic debate at the end, me vigging rocksta on only a hunch, and pretty much everything else. Was great.

    4. WebCom III - Weren't discovered as a mafia even until the other group was completely gone. Fucked myself over due to eliminating the other mafia group myself, but still had fun doing it.

    5. Food Mafia - My only time as SK and I didn't even manage to get a kill off. :( But the game itself was fun.

  5. The popular Japanese anime Bubblegum Crisis is set to head to the big screen. Six production houses in Singapore, Japan, Australia, Canada, China and the UK will partner together to work on the international, $30 Million film. As of now, the film is planned for a 2012 release date. Gary Hamilton of Arclight Pictures (one of the companies working on the feature) had the following to say on the project…

"We're thrilled to be representing this visionary project and we're confident of its global appeal. It's a truly international production, not just because it's a co-production between six countries, but because the material itself transcends cultural barriers."

So, that is added to the list of: Akira, Ninja Scroll, Deathnote, Cowboy Bebop...and I am sure I am missing something else.

Having never seen the series, is it any good?

Kind depends on your tastes, but I bought it.

For clarification, Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040 would be what you're looking for.

  6. I'm far too excited for Digimon Mafia.

You are Togemon, Digi-Aligned Cactus That Was Once Ruki's Avatar, Really!.

You are Etemon, Evil-Aligned Elvis-Impersonating Monkey

    ...and so forth. :shifty:

I'm still tossing up between the Digidestined being involved, or it just being completely made up of random digimon. At the moment I'm leaning towards the latter. >_>

Also, Buffy Mafia is officially done. The next medium game can begin sign-ups with RW's permission.

  7. So, remember that guy in Celadon City (?) in R/B/Y that was in the big building and said come back to him when you've filled the PokeDex? Yeah, what does he ever do? I've never completed the game to that standard.

In R/B/Y, he gives you an in-game certificate (not an item, just an on-screen certificate) for completing the 'dex. There's been a guy like that in each game since, and now there's varying certificates for completing that region's 'dex and then the national 'dex (all of them).

Where is that in Diamond/Pearl, cause I visited Oak, and he gave me a pat on the back and promptly told me to fuck off. There was no certificate. :(

  8. Saw it today. Was pure awesome. I really hope they continue with a series of movies here as it blew me away. The casting was spot on too. Everyone did a fantastic job at bringing something new to the characters while also paying homage to the originals. The starship battle scenes were awesome as well. Very atmospheric, and it reminded me of Battle Star Gallactaca (sp?).

  9. FMA: B Ep 5 was substantially better than the rest of the series has been so far. Despite the fact that it's still retreading old ground, they managed to make it seem different enough from the corresponding FMA episode. The pacing improved too. Also, Riza is all kinds of awesome.

    "Why is he naked?"

  10. Is it not possible to turn editing off in the mafia cube? Wouldn't that be easier? If it's not an option in the Admin CP, I'm sure it could easily be coded by one of those techy geeks that makes IPB codes.

That's a tremendously awful idea. Some game mods actually like to edit their opening post to update the living/dead list.

  11. I got distracted by PS3 and arrival of Vagrant Story, I'll be playing more today. Also, you think stealing from Baku is bad - do you not remember Hilgigas?

Oh yes, I remember Hilgigas, but at least Hilgigas is mid way through the story, fucking gigantic, and statistically you have a low chance of stealing from it. Baku is just a fucking asshole at this point. :(

  12. Haha, I remember those two going back and forth. It was entertaining. At least you had it in the right series. But in hindsight, Roy should have been a member of the bad ass mafia, and Little Slugger should have been the SK.

    Gogo, run AM3 already <_<

No. Burnt out on mafia games and taking a break from them after MPH's thing which I signed up for as a favor to him. Plus I need to iron out a few more roles.

See this GoGo. That was over a year ago. Run AM3 already. >_>

  13. We were awesome, I just didn't want to toot my own horn. >_>

It should be noted that I investigated Josh on the night I died too, and it took every ounce of will I could muster not to burst into the thread shouting "LYNCH HIM" when he turned suspicion away from himself.

And I think we made a pretty good mafia duo in You Pick 2 as well. Dumb luck on the towns part (or so it would appear) is entirely what resulted in both our deaths.
