I was gonna enter any the reasoning behind everything and make it look pretty but work schedule's been kinda crazy, so whatever. I just like to document things and see how off I am every year.

  2. I cant win a submission match at all. What am I doing wrong? The guy is like totally dead I get a submission move on and they just escape right away. Am I pushing too many buttons? Not enough buttons? No matter what I do they never give up

When I put on a submission, I never press any buttons and, as long as their health is down, they give up. Anytime I press a button (because I've heard others say to mash buttons while trying to submit an opponent), they get up right away.

  3. I'm a pretty severe gambler. Sportswise, I usually bet on anywhere from 3 to 6 games a night. Of course, this depends on the season. During college football, I'll usually put 5 or 6 bets on the morning games, check results, see what I'm going to win/lose, then do another round of 5 or 6 for the afternoon. Repeat for the night games.

I'll normally bet the spread or the over/under though occasionally I do go into a prop bet. Parlays and teasers are always extra fun also, just because you've got that shot of hitting it big.

Just as an example, I bet on all four of the NCAA games tonight, just straight up spreads.

  4. Cleveland State and Wake Forest can all go to hell.

This x 1000. In the big-money pool at my wife's office, I made the bonehead decision to pick West Virginia and Wake as the Midwest finalists. So, that one's totally boned. While they're at it, they need to make a little room for Ohio State. Some people need to learn to come back to the ball when the guy coming upcourt picks up his dribble and gets double-team trapped all to hell, and not make him throw an arcing rainbow pass across court. VP, you're partially right about that game...the OT's were awesome, regulation was uglier than Schlitz-vomit-covered bowling shoes.

And what the hell was up with the douche for Florida State who hoists a 25-footer with 13 left in the game, 12 left on the shot clock, AND A ONE-POINT LEAD? Jeebus, I'm all for equal opportunities for the short-bus kids, but shouldn't they only come in during blowouts?

Day 2 of the NCAA Tournament...driving me to drink since 1988. Costing me money since about 1994 or so.

    ...

Yeah, okay, I was 10 in 1988 and didn't start drinking that early, but still, it was a pretty infuriating tournament. I'll still bust out a "Fuck Mitch Richmond" every now and then.

I rather enjoyed the first two days myself. :)

And I believe that short-bus kid you're referencing is Toney Douglas. Can't really put the blame on him, he was told to run the clock and then run an isolation. He just happened to lose control and had to heave one instead of driving. I was more disappointed with Kichen, who had two key turnovers (one trying to call timeout while jumping out of bounds, one on a drive to the hole) for FSU than anything else.

Cleveland State's a game I should have gotten. Just like ND State earlier in the day, a team with a lot of senior leadership going up against an inconsistent school. But whatever, props to them. They match up well with Arizona and could very easily find themselves in the sweet sixteen at this point.

Go back and check history, has a 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13 seed all advanced from the same region? Good times.

  5. Aww.. so what's Joel gonna do? Stay with Late Night?

EDIT: Nope. Huh. and oh wow, The Roots are going to be Fallon's house band.

That threw me off too. Part of me wants to tune in just to see the Roots, but part of me is going to be greatly saddened by the fact that they're a house band. Just seems like a bad step for them..

As far as Conan's last show, I was pretty underwhelmed. His speech at the end provided a good moment and made it worth tuning in, but the whole show...hell, the whole last week of shows, I just expected more I guess.

  6. Any word on Papoose and The Nacerima Dream? Stumbled across the Fat Joe diss track from earlier this year (completely awesome if ya haven't heard it) and made me realize I haven't heard his name too much recently after the Jive fiasco.

Apparently the thing just keeps getting pushed farther and farther back. One of the first release dates given has already past, which says a bit. There was a Wiki article about it, but that's disappeared. On that page, there was a release date of early August last I saw but that never happened.

Papoose is a great talent, good wordplay. Was a bit disappointed when I saw him live, maybe it was because the show was a half hour long in a small shitty nightclub in a small city.

I've heard good things about his live show before you said otherwise. When the Touch It remix was out, we tried to bring him out for a show but they wanted way too much money, so unfortunately, I've not seen him live.

And yea, the wiki page for the Nacirema Dream is just Pap's page again. Strange.

  7. I like Khaled as a producer and promoter, the music's catchy. As a DJ, he's a joke, no turntable skills at all.

Haven't heard the Jeezy, but will definately be on the lookout for it.

  8. Has the dirty version of LAX by Game leaked? Last I checked it was just the Clean version.

The explicit version's out. If you can't find it, PM me.

Edit: Upon further review, I think the actual album's been released so it shouldn't be a problem.

  9. Brotha Lynch Hung is the most hardcore rapper I have ever heard, and he is one of the best I have ever heard. The guy sounds and raps like Snoop Dogg, has those typical West Coast-Dr. Dre style beats (which are executed to perfection), and all he really raps about is killing people, eating people, and avenging his cousin who was murdered. I have his second album, which is so good I don't want to ruin it by getting any of his other ones. He's made about seven albums, but his second one is without a doubt his best. It's called "Season of da Siccness" and a must for all of those who loves hardcore gangsta rap.

Here are YouTube videos of two of my favorite songs by him...

    Rest in Piss

If you do not listen you suck. Major balls.

Season of da Siccness is about the only Lynch album you need to own. Everything else is such a big drop off from it, you can't help but be disappointed. If you're into Lynch, you might be into Young Droop also, one of the younger cats that Lynch and X-Raided (to an extent) helped put on. Doing stuff with C-Bo and company go, decent music though.

Also, judging by some of the artists a lot of you have named, I'm surprised nobody's mentioned the new album from Skillz, Million Dollar Backpack. Anyone who knows Skillz knows him mostly for his year-end wrap ups but he's also a notorious ghostwriter. First album in quite a while, but absolutely fantastic.

Game's L.A.X. came out pretty nice with Letter to the King easily being the best track on the album.

The Cool Kids dropped Bake Sale, a solid album from top to bottom if you're into that style, which it seems a lot of you are.

Also, on a personal promotional tip, we've just released Digital Underground's final studio album (no, it's not a comeback, just some stuff they made and wanted to get out)....if you were ever into Digital Underground, go to jakerecords.com , it's worth the money. Also, Shock G's solo album, over some people's heads but if you understand it, you already know how good it is. /promotion.

  10. OK... I just looked through all the posts of updated games since Hamster said he'd update the front page. Are me and HttK really the only guys who have the new Madden?

I'll have it soon, just figured I wouldn't play it much now anyway since NCAA's pretty much keeping my attention.

BTW, you can add me to the front.

    PSN- TypicalPhenom

    Games

NCAA 09, MLB 08, Assassins Creed, Tiger Woods 07, and Rainbow Six Vegas 2.

  11. Haven't decided if I want to take part or not, but I can definitely toss up some rules ideas for you JStarr. Can you give me an idea or two I can use as a guideline for how much commitment to be looking for?

We don't need anything terribly huge. Something about the size of the one TGC posted up would be good for the early rounds.

    That's not considered huge? Pfft.

Edit: I retract my previous statement about Sousa.

  12. I can't see it going that far. She left a note saying she was going to pick House up from the bar, House said exactly the same thing, and nothing was mentioned by her in the time she had left with Wilson.

He'll blame House, but because his drunken selfishness got Amber killed.

That's how I see it playing out too. Not sure where the story's going with Thirteen though, it's not a disease that effects you immediately as far as I know, so I can't imagine it having a huge effect on her, but obviously could be wrong.

Amber's death seemed to bring the trio together and House's new emotions will be an interesting twist. I'd say most of next season will be about tension between Wilson and House, but how far can you really carry that? Unless Wilson gets Chase, Cameron, and Foreman and they have dueling diagnostic groups (joking...kinda, heh).

I'm anxious for next season just because I love the show, but can't say I see any real great possibilities at the moment for what's to come.

  13. I'll agree that it was a fantastic episode and the season finale next week should be even better. Not sure where they're going with the Amber situation, it seems unlikely she'll actually die. Should provide for some good stuff with House and Wilson.

They actually gave Thirteen a last name at least, though still no first that I'm aware of.

And c'mon, you got Cuddy on a stripper pole, can't ask for much more, heh.

  14. I'm indifferent on Fallon. I don't like his movies, but when I see him interviewed, he tends to be alright.

I'm also unsure on Conan's move. I would think he's gonna have to tone the show down just to appeal to a broader, older audience. I guess we don't really know til it happens though.

And I don't mind Carson, I've always liked his interviews just because a lot of the time, he's friends with the guests, so you get different questions and whatnot than the standard.

At least I'll be able to watch Ferguson without worrying about missing Conan though. :)

  15. I've no idea who he is, though a wiki search gave me all the bio stuff. Anyway, he was just on Leno and I thought he was pretty funny, charming and smart at the same time. I'm just curious, what's the general opinion of him overseas? Is there anything he's done that's worth trying to find? Looks like he's got a book out, might be worth a read, but of course I'm basing all this on one interview. So yea, any opinions?
