  1. I really enjoyed that, watched it in the cinema. Capaldi is going to be brilliant, I really enjoy the darker tone. I quite like Clara as well, And I think having her less in control will be interesting.

  2. What? You've lost to one of the favorites to go down away from home with near enough a full strength side, you lost at Anfield to Southampton and have lost to 2 of your biggest rivals one of which underwent a massive dynamic shift change when there stalwart of 26 years was replaced with another Scottish manager who took them to their worst start to a Premier League campaign ever..i mean before beating you again of course.

    Oh, Nerf.

We beat United in the league...

  3. I went to see it in the Cinema last night. 2 screens completely full, people dressed up. It was brilliant. Cineworld were handing out Jelly Babies and it just felt like a celebration.

The special was brilliant. There were so many brilliant references to the past. And I loved the cameos. Loved it so much I came back and watched it again on iPlayer.

  4. Genesis of the Daleks, Caves of Androzani, Tomb of the Cybermen and Rememberence of the Daleks are all amazing and you should definitely watch those first. A lot of the others are good too, but I'd start with those four.

  5. 1. Led Zeppelin

    2. Pink Floyd

    3. Rolling Stones

    4. Blur

    5. Foo Fighters

    6. Mettalica

    7. Smashing Pumpkins

    8. KISS

    9. Biffy Clyro

    10. Stone Sour

    11. Jimmy Eat World

    12. AC/DC

    13. Queen

    14. Volbeat

    15. Gaslight Anthem

    16. Green Day

    17. Soundgarden

    18. Fall Out Boy

    19. Red Hot Chilli Peppers

    20. Muse

  6. Tualagi and Roberts are far too similar. You need a Davies or O'Driscol alongside one of them and Roberts is a better player.

Garland was damned whichever way he went, people were going to slag him off, willing to bet if we win a lot of those people criticising will change there tune pretty quick

  7. This is gonna be my first Download, pretty damn excited. Really looking forward to a few bands (Gaslight Anthem, Black Stone Cherry, The Hives and Jimmy Eat World). There's about 12 of us all going together, it's gonna be great fun

  8. Pretty sure that Fredi Kanoute had a similar issue at Sevilla a few years back. iirc he ended up wearing a blank one.

That was because Sevilla were sponsored by some online gambling site, I've never seen anything to suggest Muslims can't be linked to financial services regardless of how shady. Especially given he's had Northern Rock and Virgin Money since he signed.
Depends on how strict he is, but Sharia law does prohibit money lending or the paying or receiving of interest
  9. The sonic screwdriver was introduced during the Second Doctor era, and was exactly that: a screwdriver. Though I believe either the Second or Third also used it as a welding torch on one occasion. The original prop was actually a non-descript, ordinary looking penlight.

It did do a few other things during the original series, but not until the Colin Baker era, I believe. And even then it wasn't a do-everything device that gets used it every frickin' episode.

Its obvious its used a lot in the new series for merchandising reasons. They not only have toy versions out, but even have a real screwdriver set with the screwdriver looking like 11's sonic screwdriver. No clue if they made one that looked like 9 and 10's...

P.S. And yes, the telepathic thing is new. Just another addition to making it a hand held deus ex machina.

Well it was used to remotely detonate mines in the 3rd Doctor Era, and was gotten rid of under the 5th Doctor as it was over used and didn't return until the 8th Doctor (it may have been used when McCoy was the Doctor though)

So most of what you said there simply isn't true. It was used when the Doctor needed to get out of a situation during the classic series, but it has become over used recently.

  10. I must admit, I enjoyed that. It wasn't the best episode ever, or anything new or different, but it did what it was supposed to.

Next weeks episode looks pretty good too, I like the concept of a ghost story in Doctor Who, and there has been a few good ones in the past too.

  11. You've all made some good points. It's forced me to rethink my opinion on the episode...

    SUCKED!

I think I need to re-watch it, I'm seeing a lot of people saying this, and I thought it was ok. Nothing spectacular, but decent enough filler and development stuff.

  12. Doesn't he usually give companions a key? Can't remember if Clara got one last week.

Christmas Clara got one, but this Clara didn't. She isn't even allowed to stay on The TARDIS full time, The Doctor drops her home like it's a day out or something. Really odd

  13. I feel the same. It wasn't at all what I was expecting, and when it was over I had a sense of was that it?. It's so disappointing that after such a long break it was so disappointing.

And why Rose! I can't stand her. And I really hope we get more than just David Tennant back for the 50th. I'm really hoping for loads of old Doctors back, but it's looking more and more likely it'll just be 10 and 11 with Clara and Rose bloody Tyler
