    FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION

BEST ACTRESS: REESE WITHERSPOON: WALK THE LINE

    narnia1.jpg

BEST VILLAIN AND BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS: TILDA SWINTON: THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA

Wohoo! I got a couple of PMs!!

  3. Final Destination: 6/10

    Bad acting? Check.

    Holes in the plot? Check.

Awesome death scenes that make-up for all that? Check.

If you liked the first and second, you'll like this. Its not as good as the original(how surprising), but I liked it better then the 2nd, but not by much. Just don't expect anyhting mindblowing or oscarworthy, becuase this is not that type of movie.

    When a Stranger Calls: 2/10

After FD3 we snuck in to see this load of crap, and left after 40 or so minutes. 1 point for the hottness of the lead, and another point for a cool house.

  4. One more thing, when the nominations are announced should I:

1.) Have a poll with each category, where members choose one of the nominees

2.) Post the nominations, and have a secret ballot(members PM me with their choices, and then I announce them one by one in a thread)

3.) Post all the nominees and have the members post their choices in the thread

  5. Its funny how I put Tilda in the Best supporting actress category while everone else puts her in the Best Actress category, the funny thing is that this type of stuff happens all the time.....category confusion...and thats why Mario Bello wasn't nominated(or Laura Linney) because the academy split them up, some putting them in one category while others put them in the other one. The funny thing is no one is really wrong, but it killed Scarlett Johannson's chances in Lost in Translation, when members of the academy were split putting her on both actress categories and unfortunentley there wasn't enough for one, so she was snubbed.

Therefore, if there are more votes for Tilda Swinton in the Best Actress category then the Best Supporting Actress, she will be placed in the Best Actress category. If she has enough votes to move on to both categories she will be placed in the category with the higher placed number of votes. This goes for any actor.

(Personally I wouldn't mind seeing her in the Best Actress category :shifty: )

  6. I liked 3 better then 2 too(but thats not saying much), but the original is still the best of the bunch. As for the trailer, looks like the same stuff minus the fart jokes. But it doesn't matter because I know my friends will drag me into it.

  7. There are no such things as Bad noms (Y)

Here is a list of eligible films!

    Films for your consideration

    I used the Academy's guidelines.

Screw the nominations rule, ROC sold me over. Just nominate with a max of five, and the ranking system is still the same. There, makes it easier for everyone.

EDIT: Sin City is not in the eligibility list...but you can add that film anyway

  8. With all this Award season madness(which ends at the Kodak theatre on March 5th), I think its about time we choose the best performers and films for our little board. Yes, I know we have this all the time, but I'm unoriginal, and bored, and I love films. You can choose up to 5 nominees(3 Being min!!) and rank them....

The ranking system goes like this:

    1st Choice: 5 points

    2nd Choice:3 points

    3rd Choice: 2 points

(and number 4 and 5 are both one point)

So what are the categories? Well you sure won't find Best short Documentary, thats for sure! :P

    The Categories:

    Best Film

    Best Director

    Best Actor

    Best Actress

    Best Supporting Actor

    Best Supporting Actress

    Best Visual Effects

    Best Cinematography

    Best Fight

    Best Villain

    Best Animated Film

Yep, 11 categories, and the nominations will be announced the final day of February! And the deadline for choosing the winner will be announced when the nominations are announced.

    4.) Voldermort(Harry Potter)

    Best Animated Film

    1.) Wallace and Gromit

    2.) Robots

    3.) Corpse Bride

  9. It looks good, and it looks like they have the atmosphere of the game which is a sigh of relief (*cough*Resident Evil*cough*). The film has potential, lets just hope they can deliver all the goods(from the script to the acting).

  10. Wow that Goldberg one is hilarious....pure comedy genius(the turnbuckle one). There's a lot of painful ones too....like Lita trying to injure herself again. The opening clip is hilarious too with Orton announcing the tag match but for the World title on the line :lmao:

  11. This is one of the few films I'm anticipating in 2006, and having Rachel McAdams would be a good choice. I love how they're going back to the old school Bond films....and I do hope they keep the torture scene from the novel, that would be kickass.

  12. Director back for Narnia follow-up Prince Caspian

02 Feb 2006 by Paul Martin

    Contributing sources: Hollywood Reporter

Andrew Adamson is set to return to the director's chair, having just inked a deal to helm "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian." Adamson also will serve as a producer and co-writer, collaborating with returning scribes Christopher Markus and Steve McFeeley. The principal cast is coming back, as is producer Mark Johnson.

A screenplay is not yet written, but production is scheduled to begin this year with an eye toward a Christmas 2007 release. "Caspian" finds the four Pevensie siblings pulled back into the land of Narnia, where 1,000 years have passed since they left. The children are again enlisted to join the colorful creatures of Narnia, who have been driven into the wild, unfriendly parts of the land. The Pevensies must struggle to overthrow a usurping king named Miraz and restore the rightful heir to the throne, the young Prince Caspian.

"Caspian," published in 1951, is the second book in the seven-book series written by C.S. Lewis.

While it's no surprise that Disney and Walden would move ahead with a sequel, the behind-the-scenes negotiations have been drawn out. "Narnia" has grossed more than $637.8 million at the worldwide boxoffice. Internationally, it ranks as Buena Vista's top-grossing live-action release of all time, surpassing "Armageddon" and "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" with its gross to date of $359.4 million. The film has grossed $278 million domestically and is the studio's third-highest-grossing live-action film. It is on track to surpass "Pirates' " worldwide gross of $655 million to become Buena Vista's all-time top live-action grosser. The movie also received three Oscar nominations Tuesday.

"I'm unbelievably relieved that what we hoped has happened," Walden Media co-founder and CEO Cary Granat said about the success of the first film. "It reminds me of when I was kid and saw clouds and wondered how it would be to touch one. And when you're an adult and you're on a mountain and actually have a chance to touch one, all you can think is, How cool! We're incredibly elated right now."

About Adamson returning, Granat added, "To me, the most exciting aspect of all of this is that there is so much that Andrew wanted to express and do in the first film, and now he'll have a chance to."

    Link: Link

I'm excited with this predictable news :D Although not my favourite in the series(the goes to Dawn Tredder) it is my 3rd(right after The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe). I do think they'll make only 3 or 4, the director wants to do Dawn Tredder, but Disney might just go in the end to "The Last Battle"

Edit: 2007 looks like its going to be an unbelievable year at the Box Office: Pirates 3, Shrek 3, Harry Potter and The Order of The Phenoix, Spiderman 3, and Prince Caspian. :o
