I liked the Rumble, I don't have any problem with Savage winning and it makes the most sense so that he and Jake can headline Wrestlemania, because that feud probably has the most heat now that Flair got hurt.

Prime Time Wrestling Recap for 7/22/1991

PTW kicked off with Brian Pillman in action against The Brooklyn Brawler. The Brawler used some underhanded tactics to keep Pillman grounded in the early stages of the match, finally the aerial tactics of Pillman came into play as they proved to be too much for the Brawler, Pillman won the match following the Air Pillman.

Mean Gene Okerlund was backstage with Jake The Snake Roberts. Roberts was in not good mood, this was due to the master of head games had been one uped by The Ultimate Warrior of all people. Roberts said his biggest mistake was not finishing the job when he had the chance but he won't make that same mistake again, he intends to finish the job at Summerslam if the Warrior is man enough to accept the challenge.

Jeff Jarrett was in action against Barry Hardy. The young wrestler finished off Hardy pretty quick as he picked up the victory following The Stroke.

After the match The Mouth of The South Jimmy Hart made his way to the ring. Hart got a microphone and started telling Jarrett how great he was but he could be even better if he let Hart manage him. Jarrett thought about it and accepted Hart's offer. Hart than said Jarrett is the future of wrestling and annoited him The Chosen One.

The next match was a interesting contest, the team of General Adnan and Colonel Mustafa took on the team of All American Bob Backlund and Sgt. Slaughter. Sgt. and Backlund clicked and it show as they controlled most of the match and won in the end as Slaughter made Adnan submit to the Cobra Clutch.

Okerlund was backstage with the team of Tito Santana and The Big Bossman. These two would face The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase and The Mountie later tonight. Both men laid down challenges for Summerslam, Santana challenged DiBiase and Bossman challenged The Mountie to a loser goes to jail match, in which the loser would have to spend the night in jail.

An update on the condition of WWF Champion Hulk Hogan was given, it was said that Hogan suffered a concussion but he won't miss any signficant ring time and would be on PTW next week.

Jimmy Hart and Sensational Sherri led The Mountie and Ted DiBiase into tag action, Santana and Bossman rushed to the ring clearing the heels out of the ring. The match went back and forth with both teams nearly pulling it out, in the end Mountie pinned the Bossman 1-2-3 thanks to help from Jimmy Hart.

Okerlund was backstage with Macho Man Randy Savage, Savage was still ticked off about last night. He said there will be a time that Ravishing Rick Rude would get what's coming to him.

Highlights from Saturday Night Main Event were shown, and the package ended with a promo highlighting Summerslam.

The main event for the night was Muta with Mr. Fuji one on one with WWF Intercontinental Champion Bret The Hitman Hart. The title was on the line so it made the match that much more important. The match was up in the air when the referee got knocked out. Fuji decided to interject himself in the match, The brought Ricky The Dragon Steamboat out from the back, Steamboat chased Fuji from the ring. Muta lost focus of Hart which allowed The Hitman to roll up Muta from behind for the 1-2-3.

Just to clear something up, I used Martel because Hogan needed a respectable opponent for a title defense and Martel after winning the KOTR fit the need, he held his own in the ring and didn't get sqaushed just some people may have worried about, I still have big plans for Martel.

The funny thing about The Undertaker-Hogan feud is Hogan didn't want to feud with him at first, Taker was like an 78 over, maybe an 80 and Hogan didn't want to do it. I'm glad he finally accepted but if he didn't I would have had to hire someone like Beefcake maybe to chance his stance.
