Prime Time Wrestling Recap for 5/13/1991

    by Andy Powell

PTW kicked off with Gene Okerlund standing in the middle of the ring. He was out to announce the new WWF President. Bag Pipe music hit and it could only be one man, Rowdy Rowdy Piper. Piper came into the ring and said that he would be a more active President then Jack Tunney and his first act as President was giving Virgil a shot at the Million Dollar Title against Ted DiBiase at the Saturday Night Main Event.

Mr. Fuji let Muta into action against Marty Jannety who was on solo duty. Both men gave it their best but Muta looked especially focused and sharp. Muta finished off Jannety with a Moonsault and covered him to get the victory.

Slick led Paul "Romeo" Roma out to the ring, like Jannety he was another tag wrestler in singles action. Texas Tornado provided to opposition for the night. The Tornado looked good and didn't waist too much time as he defeated Roma with The Claw.

After the match Rick Martel made his way out to the rampway. Martel challenged the Tornado but it wasn't for a match. He challenged him to a Model Contest as he put it. The contest is both men would do some modeling for the fans and they would determine the winner. Tornado accepted.

The power of Power and Glory made their way out to the ring as Hercules locked up with Davey Boy Smith. Just like his partner Roma, Herc came up on the short end of things as Smith won the match following theRunning Powerslam.

Gene Okerlund was backstage with an irate Million Dollar Man, Ted DiBiase. DiBiase said Virgil didn't earn a shot and the only reasons he got the shot were because Virgil and Piper are buddies and Piper is still mad after what happened to him at Wrestlemania. DiBiase went on to say it doesn't matter because in the end Virgil isn't in the Million Dollar Man's league.

The next match featured two of the best wrestlers in the world as DiBiase faced off against Ricky The Dragon Steamboat. The match was good even though it could of been better with Steamboat picking up the victory via the Flying Crossbody.

Jake Roberts and The Undertaker teamed up for the first time as they took on another first time team in The Ultimate Warrior and Hacksaw Jim Duggan. The match itself was an all out brawl with Roberts and Taker getting dq'ed because Taker wouldn't release a choke hold on The Warrior. The two double teamed The Warrior until Duggan ran them off with his 2x4.

The match of the night was the WWF Intercontinental Title Match between Mr. Perfect and Owen Hart. This time it was actually Owen. The two men put on a back and forth beauty of a match with Perfect winning with the Perfect-Plex. After the match Perfect continued the assualt until Bret Hart ran him off.

Backstage Okerlund was with Hogan and Backlund who accepted the challenge laid down by Rude for SNME.

In the main event Hogan and Backlund faced Haku and The Barbarian. Hogan and Backlund should decent teamwork for a first time team and won the match as Hogan pinned Haku following the Legdrop.

    Superstars Recap for 5/12/91

    by Deion Porter

Kato was led to the ring by Mr. Fuji, due to Tanaka's injury Kato has been forced to singles action, even though his win loss record hasn't been the greatest every week he's looked better and more comfortable by himself as a singles wrestling. All-American Bob Backlund was the opponent. Kato held his own against the former WWF Champion but Backlund wasn't a former Champ for nothing and showed that as he surivived Kato's martal arts and picked up the victory with the Chicken Wing.

My favorite manager Slick led Power and Glory out to the ring. Only thing about Slick is I could care less about any of his clients. The Rockers were the opponents for the night as this was a Summerslam 1990 rematch. Two things were different, one Power and Glory didn't jump The Rockers and two The Rockers won the match following the Double Fist Drop.

The announcers announced due to some health issues WWF President Jack Tunney has resigned from his role and a new President will be named tomorrow night on Prime Time Wrestling.

Bret Hart was up next and he faced off against the powerful Barbarian. This had some intrige to it because the it was announced that at Saturday Night Main Event Bret, Owen Hart, and Jim Neidhart would take on Mr. Perfect, Haku, & The Barbarian. Seems that Perfect called in some of his former teammates from Heenan Family days to team with him. The match itself was won by Hart who used small package to pick up another win.

Two men who could have a good weightlifting contest faced off as Davey Boy Smith took on Canadian Strong Man Dino Bravo, with Jimmy Hart. Both men some off impressive power before Smith picked up the victory following the Running Powerslam.

In pre-record comments Ravishing Rick Rude spoke about two things. He told Hulk Hogan that his days as WWF Champion were numbered because Rude said he will get his shot somewhere down the road. He also laid out a challenge, the challenge was at SNME Hogan and Bob Backlund would face Rude, Sgt. Slaughter, and Col. Mustafa in a handicapped match.

Jimmy Hart led his other team, The Natural Disasters into against against the New Foundation. Even though the Foundation gave up a lot of size and strength they managed to somehow get the victory.

The main event was Tito Santana vs Jake Roberts. The two veterans put on a solid match, Santana used his wrestling skill and quickness to speed the match up but Roberts countered with methotical offense which proved to be fruitful as he picked up the victory following the DDT.

    Wrestling Challenge Recap for 5/11/91

    by Deion Porter

Paul Bearer led The Undertaker down the to the ring. His went one-on-one with Samba Simba. The match was a quick one with the dead man picking up the victory after the Tombstone Piledriver but some important news came out of this match, the announcers announced that The Ultimate Warrior would face The Undertaker at the Saturday Night Main Event.

In record comments a pissed of Mr. Perfect let into the Harts. About Bret he said the win shouldn't count because he prepared for Owen and the Harts in general are cheating liars. He went on to say no one embarsses Mr. Perfect and Owen Hart will find that out on Monday when Mr. Perfect said he won put the WWF Intercontinental Title on the line. He said he would go through Owen first and finish Bret off later.

Haku took on the Superfly Jimmy Snuka. The neat part of the match was both men who are notorious for their hard heads couldn't phase each other with head shots, which led to a lot of body shots. Superfly picked up the victory in the end with a Superfly Splash.

Ricky Steamboat was backstage with Sean Mooney, the purpose for the interview was Steamboat said he will accept Mr. Fuji's open challenge to face Muta at the SNME.

Two powerhouses were in there next as The Ultimate Warrior took on The Warlord who as always was led to ringside Slick. Warrior looked impressive as he pick up a victory after the Gorilla Press Slam.

Sean Mooney was backstage again, this time with two men, Bret and Owen Hart. The Harts had a good laugh about outsmarting Mr. Perfect before they got to serious business. Owen accept Mr. Perfect's challenge and said he would do his best to win the title. Bret said and if Perfect weasels his way out of that he's gonna be breathing right down his neck as he has been doing recenlty. The two Harts both said that this time, Owen would be the one to face Perfect, no tricks.

In six man tag action Jimmy Hart led WWF Tag Champions The Nasty Boys and The Mountie against The Legion of Doom and The Big Bossman. Throughout the match Mountie did not want to get in with the Bossman unless Mountine had an advantage. Bossman and LOD won the match when the Mountie took a countout instead of fighting the Bossman saying now wasn't the time.

The main event put Ravishing Rick Rude against The Texas Tornado. Both men came into the match in good form especially Rude. The match went back and forth until Rick Martel interjected himself into the match. The Model started mouthing off at Tornado and finally Martel spit on Tornado, which led to Tornado chasing Martel to the back, however the ref got to ten and Rude won by countout.

  6. CAVALIER WRESTLING REPORT ISSUE 13 MAY, 7, 1991

Prime Time Wrestling Recap for 5/6/91

    by Maurice Porter

Jimmy Hart led The Mountie to the ring to face off against one of his former clients, Greg The Hammer Valentine. Hart gave Mountie some tips but ain't nothin' can prepare someone for shots from the Hammer. Valentine let into the Mountie throughout the match and seemed to be on pace for a victory. Not wanting to see his man lose Hart got on the apron and yelled at Valentine, Valentine went over to Hart and grabbed him by the collar. Just as he was going to deck Hart, Mountie rolled him up front behind, holding the tights to get the victory. After the match Mountie got the Cattleprod and was going to shock Valentine until the Big Bossman came into the ring and cleared Mountie out. As the Bossman checked on Valentine, the Mountie snuck up from behind and shocked the Bossman with the cattleprod and left the ring running to the back.

Ted DiBiase was backstage with Mean Gene for an interview, DiBiase said that he would make a rare Million Dollar Title defense tonight. Okerlund enquired if the opponent would be Virgil, DiBiase laughed that of saying no way, Virgil is nowhere near getting a shot at the gold.

DiBiase made his way to the ring led by Sherri, his opponent was the Birdman Koko. B Ware with Frankie. Koko got some offense in as he used some high risk attacks, those moves proved to be his downfall as he missed one and DiBiase capitalized by putting on the Million Dollar Dream to get the victory. While celebrating Virgil ran to the ring and the two went toe-to-toe with Virgil getting the better of it, sending DiBiase running tot he back.

The devious one himself, Mr. Fuji led Muta out to the ring. Since arriving in the WWF Muta has been undefeated and has looked great. The task for tonight was to overcome the power advantage that his opponent would have, the opponent was Hacksaw Jim Duggan. Duggan used power as excepted and seemed to be on the verge of a victory, Fuji got on the apron and distracted the ref which allowed Muta to spit red mist into the eyes of Duggan, Muta covered up a blinded Duggan to pick up the victory.

After the match Fuji laid down an open challenge for anyone to the WWF to go against Muta at the Saturday Night Main Event.

After the show came back from break Hulk Hogan was shown in California doing some promotional work, he said even though he couldn't be there he felt Bob Backlund would have no problem handling Col. Mustafa and to Rick Rude the time for Hulkamaniato run wild on him will come soon.

General Adnan led Col. Mustafa to the ring, as said earlier his opponent was All-American Bob Backlund who came to the ring with a new USA ring jacket. The match went back and forth with Backlund on the verge of finishing Mustafa off, then Sgt. Slaughter came to the ring and attacked Backlund causing a DQ. The assualt became a one-on-one as Adnan and Mustafa got into the action before officials finally broke it up.

After the break The Ultimate Warrior ran down to the ring. He got in the ring and rambled on as he does, he said that all of strength of the Warriors will help him rid the WWF of Jake Roberts and The Undertaker and rambled on some more.

Shawn Michaels was in singles action tonight. He went one-on-one with Ravishing Rick Rude. As match started Rude was a little ticked off because it seemed the ladies thought Michaels was more Ravishing then Rude was. The two went toe-to-toe for a good period of time and the tag specialist Michaels held his own until he like Koko missed a high risk move and Rude like DiBiase took advantage as he followed up with the Rude Awakening to get the pinfall.

Okerlund again was backstage, this time with WWF Intercontinental Champion Mr. Perfect. Perfect talked some about Owen Hart but Okerlund asked about Bret wondering why didn't he want to face Bret instead. Perfect said Owen had been on quite the roll in the tag division and felt he wanted to give the youngster a shot at the bigtime.

Owen Hart came to the ring in a mask which covered his entire face. Perfect came out confident as ever. These two went back and forth as they displayed great wrestling skill, they went hold for hold and move for move with no man getting an advantage. The young Hart showed a lot as he did not back down one bit, the annoucers said Bret must be beeming with pride at this display. The end of the match came when Owen Hart came out on the entrance way. As Perfect was going for the Perfect-Plex he saw Owen and was in shock. In his state of shock Perfect was rolled up from behind for a 1-2-3 When Perfect got up he turned to the man in the ring and the man took his mask off to reveal himself as Bret Hart. Perfect charged at Bret but Bret got the better of it sending an embarrased Perfect scurring to the back. The show ended with Bret and Owen celebrating.

I did the Bret/Perfect match in that manner for these reasons. One it makes Bret as a legit contender and two dispite losing Perfect doesn't look too bad as he didn't prepare for Bret, he prepared for Owen and Bret only won due to help from Owen. The mask was a way to cover up the face and I figured that due to the fact Bret and Owen are around the same size all it would take is a mask and blonde wig to do the trick and disguse Bret.

  7. WWF Championship: Bret Hart vs. Lex Luger

Winner: Bret, continues his moment and please don't put the strap on Luger

    Hulk Hogan vs. British Bulldog

    Superstars Recap for 5/5/91

    by Andy Powell

Jake The Snake Roberts opened up the night by dismantling the Italian Stalion. Roberts was accompanied to the ring by Paul Bearer and The Undertaker. After the DDT Roberts covered Stallion 1-2-3 to pick up the victory.

After the commercial break Superstars came back and said that the Ultimate Warrior would make his first apperance since Saturday Night Main Event when he was double teamed by Roberts and Taker, tomorrow night on Prime Time Wrestling.

Pre-recorded comments by The Legion of Doom were made, they announced that the contracts have been signed and at this months Saturday Night Main Event they would face off against the WWF Tag Champions The Nasty Boys. LOD told the Nasties to spend as much time with those belts as possible because come the SNME they won't have them anymore.

Speaking of the champs Jimmy Hart led them to the ring to square off against the Bushwackers. Santana-Kato, it was not, the teams brawled out with the champs picking up the victory after the Pit-Stop.

Clips were shown of the Mr. Perfect-Owen Hart challenge, the annoucers broke news that Owen suffered a facial injury in his tag match against Demolition, Owen would still wrestle Perfect but would require some sort of protective mask.

The next match was the best of the night as Mr. Fuji teamed up Kato and Muta to take on The Rockers. This was a high paced match with a lot of exciting offense, unfourntanely there had to be a loser and the was the Rockers as Muta pinned Jannety following a Moonsault.

The main event put The Model Rick Martel against Ricky The Dragon Steamboat. Martel was upset due to the fact that he could not find his arrogance spray. The match was a solid contest in all. The end of the match came as the Texas Tornado came out with the arrogance spray, Martel who had Steamboat in the Boston Crab released the hold and yelled at Tornado. This gave Steamboat time to roll-up Martel and get the 1-2-3 for the victory.

    Wrestling Challenge Recap for 5/4/1991

    by Isaac Ward

WWF Intercontinental Champion Mr. Perfect started off the show against Jim Powers. After toying around with Powers for a few minutes Perfect picked up the victory following the Perfect-Plex.

After the match Perfect walked over to the commentators and challenged Owen not Bret Hart to a match this Monday.

Sensational Sherri led the Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase to the ring next, his opponent for the night was Shane Douglas. Douglas showed some promise taking advantage of DiBiase who wasn't taking him that serious. After a near fall DiBiase decided that enough was enough and went on the offensive, he ended up winning the match with the Million Dollar Dream.

Sean Mooney was backstage with Owen Hart and Jim Neidhart to talk about their upcoming match, after taking about the match Owen accepted Perfect's challenge.

The New Foundation and Demolition with Mr. Fuji squared off in the next match, a match that could help the winning team move up the tag rankings ladder. Demolition doubled team and isolated Owen for a good part of the match before he finally tagged the Anvil. Neidhart came in and dominated, with Crush down and Smash knocked out the ring, Neidhart tagged Owen who hit the Hart Attack and covered Crush for the win.

Another Fuji client was in the ring for the next match even though Fuji wasn't out with him, Kato went one on one with Tito Santana. In an outstanding match in terms of its wrestling Santana came out victourious after pinning Kato 1-2-3 following the Flying Jalapeno.

Backstage Mooney had another interview, this time with Ravishing Rick Rude and Sgt. Slaughter. The pair said they have common enemies in Hogan and now Backlund cause he stuck his nose where it didn't belong.

The main event of the night teamed Rude and Slaughter against Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Hillbilly Jim. The team of Rude and Slaughter looked good with Rude picking up the victory following the Rude Awakening.

Saturday Night Main Event Recap For 4/27/91 by Deion Porter

The night opened up with Mr. Fuji leading Kato out to the ring, Kato recenlty has been in singles action due to the fact his partner Tanaka is injured. His opponent was Bret "Hitman" Hart, Hart went to ringside and gave his glasses to a young fan. When Hart got into the ring the match begun. The men started off by exchanging hold after hold which gave the match a quick pace, finally Hart gained the advantage and put Kato in a hammerlock. Kato broke the hold by elbowing Hart in the mouth, he came off the ropes and ran right into a Hart arm drag. As he held the arm Hart drop a legdrop on the arm. After holding Kato in the move Hart brought him up to his feet and started punching the arm. Hart sent Kato into the ropes and hit a dropkick right to the mouth of Kato. Kato sensed that the end could be near so he smartly rolled out of the ring to take a breather. Fuji huddled with Kato as he gave him some pointers, these were needed as Kato had been in singles compitition for a short time and someone of Fuji's expierence could help him out. Kato got back into the ring and the two men locked up, no one got an advantage until Kato placed a thumb right into the eye of Hart. This seemed to turn the tide of the match, Kato utilized his martial arts background beautifully. Kato gave a martial arts kick to the ribs of Hart and followed that up with another kick to the legs. Kato came off the ropes and dropped a quick elbow on Hart followed up by a pin attempt in which Hart kicked out at two. Kato locked Hart in an abdominal strecth, after his broke the hold Kato distracted the ref which allowed Fuji to drive his cain into the ribs of Hart who was already on the ground due to the last move. Kato ran over and covered Hart and Hart kicked out at two. Kato picked up Hart and hit a breaker and covered Hart again with Hart kicking out at two. It had become very evident that the strategy that Fuji and Kato discussed earlier was to work on the ribs of Hart. With Hart on the mat Kato let into him with some hard kicks right to the ribs of Hart, Kato covered again and Hart kicked out at two. Kato once again slapped the abdominal strecth on Hart but this time he did it in the middle of the ring. Hart who was in severe pain was checked by the ref to see if he wanted to quit, Hart's arm went down once, it went down twice and it went halfway down before Hart caught it at the last moment. The fans started to get behind Hart and rally him, eventually Hart was able to flip Kato over as both men were on the mat. The two got up as Kato tried to kick Hart, Hart blocked it and let in to Kato with a right hand, followed by another and followed up by a headbutt. Hart picked up Kato and delivered an interverted atomic drop, he followed up with a clothesline and pin in which Kato kicked out at two. Hart picked up Kato and hit a backbreaker which was followed up by an elbow off the second turnbuckle and a cover in which Kato kicked out at two. Fuji sensed his guy was in the and climbed onto the apron to distract Hart, It failed as Kato came from behind only for Hart to duck and Kato collided with Fuji. A dazed Kato was giving the russian legsweep. With Kato on the mat Hart slapped the Sharpshooter on Kato who submitted giving the win to Hart.

The next match pitted Jimmy Hart's Natural Distaters, Earthauqke and Typhoon against The Legion of Doom, Animal and Hawk. This match featured the two strongest teams in the World Wrestling Federation. The match was even more important for the Legion of Doom because a win would guarentee them a WWF Tag Team Title shot against The Nasty Boys. Hawk and Earthquake started off the match, Hawk came out firing with lefts and rights, he came off the ropes to shoulder block the big man but that proved unsuccessful as it didn't even move the big man. Hawk tagged Animal the stronger of the two to see if he could make more of an impact. Animal came of the ropes to do the same move as Hawk did except when he did it no one fell as both men stood their ground. Earthquake challenged Animal to do it again and he did and once again no one went down. Eartquake challenged again and Animal came off the ropes, excepted this time he came with a dropkick into the mouth of Earthquake which got the big man wobbling. Animal came off and hit a clothesline, followed up by another which still had the big man wobbling. Finally Animal tagged Hawk and both of them clotheslined Earthquake which put the big man down. Hawk ran to the ropes and was met with a knee in the back from Typhoon. The referee escorted Animal out of the ring, however this allowed the Disasters to double team Hawk and that's what they did. Hawk was dragged into the Distasters corner and was punched over and over again with Earthquake punching and Typhoon holding Hawk up. Earthquake got off and distracted the ref which allowed Typhoon to use the ring rope as he choked Hawk with it. Eartquake tagged in Typhoon who picked Hawk up in the corner and ran into him with an avalanche, Typhoon covered Hawk who managed somehow to kick out at two. Typhoon put a few more boots to Hawk and tagged in Earthquake. Earthquake came off the ropes and hit a elbow drop on Hawk, he covered with Animal coming in the ring breaking up the pin attempt at two. Earthquake picked Hawk and bear hugged him. He broke the hold and tagged in Typhoon who proceed to bearhug Hawk. This time there was no dropping of Hawk as Hart wanted Typhoon to try and get a submission out of it. The ref checked Hawk and raised his arms, they went down the first two times but before the ref could try again Animal rushed into the ring and chop blocked Typhoon in the leg. Both men were down but they crawled into the corner and made the tags. Hawk was on fire as he came in, he hit Earthquake with everything but the kitchen sink. Hawk was wearing Earthquake down when Typhoon came in the ring, Earthquake held Hawk up in their corner and Typhoon came in for a splash, but Hawk ducked and Typhoon hit his own partner. Animal came in and he and Hawk clotheslined Typhoon out of the ring. Hawk came down on Earthquake with a fistdrop and covered Earthquake for the 1-2-3 to give L.O.D the victory.

The Intercontinental Title was on the line next, the challenger The Big Bossman made his way to the ring first to a good reception from the fans, the music of the champion hits and WWF Intercontinental Champion Mr. Perfect made his way down to the ring looking confident as ever. The match starts off with a tie-up and the Bossman used his power to knock Perfect down. Perfect got right into the Bossman's face and slapped him, Bossman wasn't gonna be inimidated as he slapped Perfect right back. Bossman followed up with some punches and he whipped Perfect to the ropes and hit a big clothesline. Perfect was whipped again and the Bossman hit a back body drop on Perfect. Pefrect rolled under the ropes to get a break but Bossman showed great quickness for a guy his size as he slid under the ropes and caught Perfect with another right hand to the mouth. Bossman rolled Perfect into the ring and threw him into the corner. Bossman ran at Perfect who moved out of the way sending Bossman shoulder first into the steel pole. Perfect nearly got the win after rolling up the Bossman but Bossman kicked out at two. Perfect dropped his knee on the shoulder of the Bossman and followed up with a legdrop on the shoulder. Perfect picked up the Bossman and hit a picture perfect dropkick, Perfect went for the cover but Bossman kicked out at two. Perfect set up the Bossman and hit a running neck snap, Perfect went for another cover and the Bossman kicked out at two again. Perfect went right back to work on the shoulder of the Bossman as he jumped over the rope with Bossman's arm and dropped it across the rope. Perfect got back into the ring and lifted the big man and hit a shoulder breaker, Perfect covered and the Bossman barely kicked out at two. Perfect picked up the Bossman and chopped him right back down to the ground. Perfect procedeed to put the boots to the shoulder of the Bossman. Perfect sent the Bossman against the ropes and caught him in a sleeper. Perfect had it locked on right in the middle of the ring, the referee checked the arm of the Bossman, it went down once, he checked it again and once again it went down. The fans started to rally behind the Bossman, the ref checked the arm again and it went down halfway but the Bossman held it up. The Bossman elbowed Perfect once, he did it again and it forced Perfect to break the hold. Bossman and Perfect came off the ropes and collided dead smack with each other. The ref reached seven as both men got to their feet, Perfect swung but Bossman ducked and came back with a punch of his own. Two punches later Bossman hit Perfect with a big clothesline and covered him for a two count. Bossman threw Perfect into the corner and climbed his shoulder to hit ten punches as the fans counted all of them. Bossman came off the ropes and hit a legdrop, he covered Perfect and got a close two count. Bossman got Perfect up and hit a huge powerslam, Bossman covered Perfect and got a two and a half count. The Mountie came to the ring and climbed the apron, Bossman grabbed him, Perfect hit Bossman with a knee in the back. Perfect picked up a groggy Bossman and hit the Perfect-Plex and covered him for the 1-2-3 to retain the Intercontinental Title.

The Dr. of Style and Sensational Sherri led their team to the ring first, DiBiase waved a wad of cash, while Martel sprayed some arrogance spary and The Warlord just looked tough. Steamboat, Virgil, and the Tornado came down to the ring seperate. The Tag Title match was next and The Rockers in the role of challengers made their way to the ring running as fast as the could in the ring. Jimmy Hart led the Nasty Boys with the titles on their shoulders confidently as they made their way to the ring. The champs get into the ring and immediatly jump the Rockers, Sags threw Jannety out of the ring and the duo doubled teamed Michaels. Knobbs lined up Shawn and clotheslined him. Knobbs delivers a couple of elbows to Shawn. Knobbs dragged Shawn to their corner and delivered some more shots to Michaels. Knobbs went over to the other corner and gave a cheap shot to Jannety, this brought Jannety in but the ref forced him back to his corner, this also allowed Sags to choke Michaels with the tag rope. The music of Jake The Snake Roberts hit and he methodically made his way to the ring with Damien as he slid into the ring. Jake got into the ring and was giving the mic. Jake got on and challenged the Ultimate Warrior to come out to the ring. A few seconds later the Warrior's music hit and he ran down to the ring, he got in to the ring and shook the ropes. Slaughter walked over to Hogan, picked him up and scoop slammed him onto the mat. Slaughter rolled into the ring and back out to break the count. Prime Time Wrestling Recap For 4/15/1991

    by Maurice Porter

Kevin Kreuger and Frankie DeFalco were the opponents of the teenage lady killers, The Rockers. The announcers hyped The Rockers upcoming Tag Title shot against the Nasty Boys, in the ring The Rockers did not show any signs of overlooking these two as they were sharp and crisp. After some quick tags and double teams The Rockers won the match when Michaels covered DeFalco after the Double Fist Drop

The Legion of Doom were back in the locker room with Mean Gene Okerlund, the point of the interview was L.O.D accepted Jimmy Hart's challenge to face The Natural Disasters and after they win that match they will win the WWF Tag Team Titles no matter who the champions are.

Mr. Fuji led Muta out to the ring to go one-on-one with Saba Simba. Simba was able to use his strength to throw Muta around but Muta is managed by Fuji and Fuji manages men that can take it and dish it out, which Muta can do. After taking the power moves Muta used his skill to fluster Simba picking up the victory via the Moonsault.

Fuji wasn't in the locker room long after the Muta match as he led his other tag team, Demolition out to the ring. Demolition is looking to restore some pride and move their way back up the ladder as they have fallen on some hard times as of late. This match was a good start as they dominated from start to finish picking up the victory following the Decapitation Elbow.

Footage of Jake The Snake Roberts attacking the Ultimate Warrior last week was shown, after the footage Okerlund was in the locker room as he interviewed Roberts. When asked why, Roberts said over the years he's come out and defeated who the put in front of him, but it didn't get him any attention and it didn't get him anywhere in terms of title shots. Attacking the Warrior got him what he's been looking for and he intends to have some fun with the Warrior.

Tom Bennett went one-on-one with The Big Bossman, before the match footage of Jack Tunney giving the Bossman another shot at the Intercontinental Title as Saturday Night Main Event was shown. The match itself was a short one with the Bossman picking up the victory following the Bossman Slam.

Okerlunds next interview was with Bret Hart. Hart made it very clear that he intends to work his way up the ladder and earn a shot against Mr. Perfect and once he gets that shot Perfect will be excellently excuted.

Mouth of The South Jimmy Hart led Canadian Strongman Dino Bravo to the ring, Bravo faced Bret Hart. The match was a good contest with Bravo gaining the upper hand due to his immense strength. Hart cameback but was shot back down by a attack focused on the lower back of Hart. After nearly winning a few times Bravo made a mistake and Hart capatilized on it, Hart worked the knee enough to soften it up as he made Bravo submit to the Sharpshooter.

The best match of the night was WWF Intercontinental Champion Mr. Perfect going one-on-one with Superfly Jimmy Snuka. The match was big because of the boost it would give Perfect and the fact a win over Perfect could shoot Snuka up the ladder of contenders. The match went back and forth with both men giving their all, Snuka was good but Perfect was Perfect in the end as he picked up the victory with the Perfect Plex.

Slick led the massive Warlord out to the ring, his opponent was Ricky The Dragon Steamboat. As great of a wrestler as Steamboat is early it wasn't working as The Warlord dominated with his power. Much like Hart did earlier Steamboat found a way to survive and comeback finishing off Warlord with a Flying Cross Body to pick up the victory.

The main event for the night pitted Hacksaw Jim Duggan against Ravishing Rick Rude. Because of Rude the match was a decent contest, Rude picked up the victory with the Rude Awakening. After the victory Rude proceed to put some boots to Duggan until the music of Hulk Hogan hit. The fans went wild as Hulk came to the ring, Hulk got in the ring and Rude left the ring to live and fight another day.

    Superstars Recap For 4/14/1991

    by Isaac Ward

Saba Simba, no comment about him started off the show against The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase who was led to the ring by Sensational Sherri. DiBiase put on a wrestling clinic but Simba used his power to make things interesting, however the momentum didn't last as DiBiase locked on the Million Dollar Dream showing Virgil how it's supposed to be done to pick up the victory.

Comments by Jimmy Hart along with The WWF Tag Team Champions The Nasty Boys were shown. Hart offered the Legion of Doom something, the offer was if they could beat The Natural Disasters at The Saturday Night Main Event that they wuold get a title shot against The Nasty Boys. He went of to say, the titles will be on the line at the Main Event as The Nasties would defend the belts against The Rockers.

In the next match The British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith made short work of Bob Bradley in a match that highlighted his power atributes. Davey won the match with the Running Powerslam.

Jimmy Snuka made his first appearance in the ring since Wrestlemania VII and looked sharp against Frankie DeFalco. The Superfly made short work of DeFalco finshing him off with the Superfly Splash to pick up the victory.

The Dr. Of Style Slick led his guys Power & Glory into a match with the New Foundation, Owen Hart and Jim The Anvil Neidhart. P&G being the more expierenced team controlled a lot of match dispite flurries of power from Neidhart and speed from Hart. In the end those flurries happened more often as the Foundation put it all together picking up the victory following the Hart Attack.

Back in the bowels of the arena Lord Alfred Hayes had the unenvyable task of interview The Undertaker who was with Paul Bearer. Bearer did the talking, most of it focusing on Taker's upcoming match against Hillbilly Jim.

Hillbilly Jim is a big man, he is a powerful man and when he hits someone they feel it. Well, except for The Undertaker. Jim hit Taker with some good shots and though a few seemed to have a slight effect the dead man just fought them off picking up Jim and Tombstone Piledrivering Jim into the mat covering him for the victory.

The main event for the night was The Model Rick Marte and The Mountie with Jimmy Hart going against Tito Santana and the Texas Tornado. Santana and Martel have more love lost as the showed that brawling with other for a good portion of the match. The end of the match came with the referee trying to break up Santana and The Mountie on the outside of the ring, Martel picked up the cattle prod and stuck it into the ribs of the Tornado. Martel would cover the Tornado for the victory. After the match The Mountie was set to shock Santana when the Big Bossman came to the ring and cleared house with the nightstick.

    Wrestling Challenge For 4/13/1991 Recap

    by Andy Powell

WC kicked off with Jamie Magnum and Todd Becker in the ring, their opponents for the evening were the biggest team by far in the WWF, the Natural Disasters lead to the ring by Jimmy Hart. Earthquake and Typhoon did as they wanted and picked up the victory after Earthquake hit the Aftershock.

Sean Mooney was in the locker room with Virgil, Virgil spoke about Ted DiBiase, saying Wrestlemania wasn't a fluke and due to the advice his new friend Rowdy Piper was giving him he is more then ready to beat DiBiase again.

Virgil came out of the locker room to face Tom Bennett. Virgil showed off some boxing like manuvers that the announcers said Piper taught Virgil and won the match with the Million Dollar Dream.

Jimmy Hart led another client out to the ring in the form of Canadian strong man Dino Bravo, Bravo would go one-on-one with Tito Santana. Bravo jumped Santana and gained the advantage for most of the match, however Bravo got a bit cocky and Santana took advantage as hit the Flying Jalapeno out of nowhere to pick up the victory.

Koko. B Ware along with Frankie made their way to the ring, Koko's opponent for the night was Muta led to the ring by Mr. Fuji. Koko did get some offense in but it wasn't enough as Muta's combination of speed and impact moves proved to be too much for The Birdman as Muta picked up the victory via the Moonsault.

Sgt. Slaughter and Colonel Mustafa were backstage with Sean Mooney for an interview. The duo said that The Triangle of Terror would launch a raid of terror on the WWF. Slaughter went on to exercise his rematch clause for the WWF Title. The match will be Hulk Hogan vs Sgt. Slaughter for the WWF Title at Saturday Night Main Event on April, 28, 1991.

Luke and Butch licked their way to the ring to face the team of Slaughter and Mustafa. Slaughter and Mustafa came to the ring with General Adnan waving the Iraqi flag as he usually does. The Bushwackers proved to be no pushovers confusing Slaughter and Mustafa with their distinctive style. Slaughter and Mustafa got it together and picked up the victory when Slaughter forced Butch to submit to the Camel Clutch.

The main event for the night placed "The Model" Rick Martel one-on-one against Shawn Michaels. Michaels was flying solo tonight due to the fact that Marty Jannety was under the weather. Michaels looked very good as he took a lot of the first to Martel. Michaels demonstrated some great moves and nearly pulled off the upset on numerous occasions. In the end Martel used his expierence to his advantage to pick up the victory as he pinned Michaels using the ropes as leverage.

  16. Thanks for all the feedback.

Prime Time Wrestling For 4/8/1991 Recap

    by Deion Porter

PTW kicked out with the Texas Tornado in action, his opponent was the Brooklyn Brawler. Tornado was a little cautious in the sense he was looking out to see if Rick Martel would try another sneak attack, Martel didn't and the Tornado focused on the match putting the Brawler away with The Claw.

After the victory the Tornado as for a microphone and Howard Finkel gave him his. Tornado got on the mic and told Martel, anytime, anyplace, anywhere.

The next match pitted Shane Douglas against The Undertaker led to the ring by Paul Bearer. Douglas tried and tried but everytime he hit Taker it didn't phase the dead man, it just seemed to annoy him. Taker decided enough was enough and finished Douglas off with the Tombstone Piledriver to pick up another victory.

Bret Hart was up next and his opponent was Kevin Krueger. Bret is trying working his way up the singles ladder to hopefully face Mr. Perfect. A note to Bret, your one of my favorites but you gotta face some tougher guys to move up the ladder. The match itself showed off Hart's wrestling ability and his precise execution as he finished off Krueger with the Sharpshooter.

Mr. Fuji led his Orient Express team to the ring, their opponents for the night wass The Legion of Doom. This was the best match of the night as the Express used their speed and martial arts skill to give L.O.D a good run for their money. Knowing a loss could hurt then in their quest to get a Tag Title shot, L.O.D took it to another level and in the end overpowered The Express picking up the victory after the Doomsday Device

Back in the locker room Gene Okerlund was with Jimmy Hart and The Nasty Boys who were watching the previous match. Hart said L.O.D didn't impress him of the Nasty Boys and it would take a lot more then that performance to get a Tag Title shot.

Paul Roma was in the ring with Slick, when Ricky Steamboat made his way to the ring. This would be Steamboat's first match in the WWF in a number of years and he looked good. Roma got some offense in focusing on the back of Steamboat but The Dragon showed his greatness fighting through the pain and picking up the victory after hitting the Flying Cross Body from the top rope.

PTW showed some footage that was recorded over the weekend. Vince McMahon was at the home of Hulk Hogan to interview him about the attack from Ravishing Rick Rude. Hogan said he was a little sour especially his ribs due to the chair shots, but that wouldn't stop him from coming back to even the score with Rude. He goes on to say Rude doesn't know what he's gotten himself into because with all the Hulkamanicas behind him, Rude will find out how powerful of a force that Hulkamania truly is.

Speaking of Rick Rude, he had the next match. Before the match started Rude took the mic as he usually does and said his bit, but when he was finished he said if Hogan was such a man he would of been here to face me. As for the match Rude went one-on-one with Jim Powers and made short work of him picking up the victory after the Rude Awakening.

The next contest was between Tito Santana and a man who Mr. Fuji brought over from Japan, the announcers said his name was Muta and he had a major league track record throughout the world. The match itself was a good match, Santana can go with the best and Muta displayed some impressive moves.

The main event for this installment of PTW pitted two powerhouses against each other, The Ultimate Warrior and Haku. The Warrior picked up the victory via the Gorilla Press. While celebrating his victory Jake "The Snake" Roberts came into the ring and out of nowhere, he hit DDT on the Warrior. The fans were booing even harder after Roberts hit another DDT.

  17. Not to give away too much but Martel won't be jobbed, if he loses it will be in a manner that makes him and the Tornado look good. Slaughter won't be jobbed and in trying to keep some realness I'm not got just put Slaughter out to the curve, in real life even though the war was over that angle with Slaughter ran to Summerslam 91.

Prime Time Wrestling For 4/1/91 Recap

    by Maurice Porter

The show kicked off with Reno Riggins in the ring, Tito Santana is his opponent tonight and got a nice reception as he made his way to the ring. Santana made quick work of Riggins as he hit the Flying Jalapeno to pick up the victory.

As the show came back from commercial clips from Superstars of The Legion of Doom setting their sights on The Nasty Boys are shown.

That was a prelude to the next match which featured L.O.D as they were opposed by Iron Mike Sharpe and The Brooklyn Brawler. Sharpe and The Brawler weren't much opposition as L.O.D ran roughshot through the pair winning the match with the Doomsday Device.

After the commercial break Paul Roma was led to the ring by Slick, the music of the Hart Foundation hit and Bret Hart came to the ring. Hart and Roma were both without their respective partners, a decent match that went back and forth ended when Hart made Roma submit to a move that Gorilla Moonson called The Sharpshooter.

After another commercial break the music of Sgt. Slaughter hit as General Adnen Iraqi flag and all led the former World Champion to the ring. The duo got into the ring and Slaughter picked up a microphone. Slaughter introduced Colonel Mustafa, Mustafa got into the ring and declared the trio The Triangle of Terror.

The next match pitted the veteran Greg Valentine against the deadman himself, The Undertaker with Brother Love. Valentine hit The Undertaker with some hard shots but they didn't even seem to phase him, after taking what Valentine could dish out Taker went on the offensive and picked up the victory after the Tombstone Piledriver.

After the break cameras were in the office of WWF President Jack Tunney. Tunney made his major annoucement and it was a big one, he announced the return of Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat to the WWF. Steamboat appeared to sign a contract and Tunney said Steamboat would be in action next week on Prime Time Wrestling.

The next match pitted Demolition against every teenage girls favorite team, The Rockers. The match was a solid contest that went back and forth as Demolition used it's strength while The Rockers used a variety of quick double team manuvers that have earned them the reputation as tag team specialists. The end came when Crush accidently hit Smash leaving him at the mercy of The Rockers who finished him off with the Double Flying Fist Drop.

Mean Gene Okerlund was back in the locker room with The Mountie and Jimmy Hart. The pair briefly spoke about The Mountie's upcoming match-up with The British Bulldog. The pair did spend a lot of time taking about The Big Bossman saying The Mountie was the real law and order of the WWF.

The match between The Bulldog and Mountie was the last of the night, Hart made The Bulldog knew he was at ringside as he interfered on a few occassions giving The Mountie advantages throughout the match, however help from The Mouth of The South wasn't enough as The Bulldog picked up the victory with the Running Powerslam.

The show ended with Hulk Hogan coming out to the ring, of course when Hogan came out the roof went off the arena. Hogan spent the next few minutes taking about possible contenders for his title and so on, when all of a sudden a masked man came out from the crowd, into the ring and waffled Hogan with a chair to the back of Hogan. The man hit Hogan a few more times with the chair leaving Hogan on the ground in pain. The main took off his mask to reveal himself to be Ravishing Rick Rude. Rude picked Hogan up and hit the Rude Awakeningon Hogan as Prime Time Wrestling went off the air.

    Thoughts On The Show

    by Deion Porter

The show overall was a good show. Seeing the return of Rude and the debut of Steamboat were surprising and great. Rude and Steamboat have always been favorites of mine and to see them back is great, especially seeing Rude beatdown Hogan. It was also nice to see Bret Hart in singles action, even though The Hart Foundation are great I would love to see more of Bret in singles action. Bulldog-Mountie, Hart-Roma, Demolition-Rockers, Taker-Valentine were all solid matches and surprise debuts made the show into a good one.

  21. CAVALIER WRESTLING REPORT ISSUE 1 APRIL, 1, 1991

The Men Of The World Wrestling Federation

by Deion Porter & Maurice Porter

The World Wrestling Federation is comprised of many different individuals ranging from muscle men like Hulk Hogan, The Ultimate Warrior, The British Bulldog and The Warlord to name a few, smaller guys who rely on quickness and speed like Bret Hart, The Rockers Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannety, and The Orient Express Kato and Tanaka, and one giant, the 8th Wonder of The World, Andre the Giant. Every wrestler plays a different part whether it be a headliner or a bum who always loses, and I will detail all of the various types of wrestlers.

The headliners are the wrestlers who usually main event the shows, the two headliners in the WWF are The Immortal Hulk Hogan who is idolized all over the world who believe in his say your prayers and eat your vitamins routine. The other headliner is The Ultimate Warrior who paints his face and runs wild in the ring. Both of them are good guys. The only bad guy that can be somewhat seen as a headliner is Sgt. Slaughter who is an American turncoat that symphasizes with Iraq that has gone against both Hogan and The Warrior.

The second group of wrestlers are the ones who are right below that headliner status. The wrestler in the WWF that fits into that field is Mr. Perfect. Perfect is a bad guy who is very cocky, he truly belives that he is a perfect man.

The next group of wrestlers are the middle of the road guys. They usually fight in the middle of the card, they usually beat the lower guys and lose to the guys higher up on the card. I will start off with the good guys. Animal and Hawk are powerful men that wear face paint and spikes on their shoulders as they form The Legion of Doom. The Big Bossman is the police officer of the WWF, that keeps bad guys in line. The Hart Foundation are the team of Bret "The Hitman" Hart and Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart. Bret is one of the best wrestlers in thw WWF while Neidhart is the power man of the team. The British Bulldog is a power house from England. Jake "The Snake" Roberts is a mysterious man that is famous for bringing his snake Damien to every match and the DDT which is his finishing move. Hacksaw Jim Duggan is a big man who loves two things, the U.S.A and his 2x4 that has been used on many men. "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka is from the Fiji Islands and is know worldwide for his Superfly Splash. The Texas Tornado is Texan who is loved by the fans. Virgil is a man that has turned over a new leaf in past months, he went from being the bodyguard for Ted DiBiase to defeating him at Wrestlemania VII.

The bad guys in this field will start off with Demolition, Smash and Crush are like a bad version of The Legion of Doom. Dino Bravo is a very, very powerful man who beats opponents with brute strength. Earthquake a man who weighs a lot and when he comes down on his opponent it is a 6 on the richter scale. Rick "The Model" Martel is a great athlete who lets everyone know how great he looks. "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase is a great wrestler who is a rich snob. The Warlord is another huge man who uses brute strength to win matches. The Undertaker is one scary individual, he's emotionless, he looks like he hasn't slept in a week, and he feels no pain.

The next group of wrestlers are the guys near the bottom who are above the jobbers. The good guys in this field include the fun loving tag team of Luke and Butch, The Bushwhackers who like to lick people. Greg "The Hammer" Valentine is a veteran who hammers on his opponents. Jim Powers is a guy trying to find a nitch in the WWF. Shawn Michaels and Marty Jannety are two guys who the girls love and are the most exciting tag team in the WWF, and they form The Rockers. Tito Santana is a fan favorite who has done a lot in his long run in the WWF but seems to have be fading off in recent years. Hillbilly Jim is a country hillbilly.

The Nasty Boys, Brian Knobbs and Jerry Sags are a pair of slobs. Kato and Tanaka are two men from Japan who are very quick and are known as The Orient Express. Power and Glory is the team of Hercules and Paul Roma, Herc is the muscle and Roma is the speed of the team. Haku and The Barbarian are two brutes who team up with each other. The Mountie is a law officer from Canadian that likes to serve his brand of justice by shocking people with a cattle prod. Earthquake and Typhoon are The Natural Distasters and are the biggest team in the WWF by far.

The openers are guys usually in the first or maybe second match of the card. Koko B. Ware is a god guy who is known as "The Birdman" and can always be seen with his bird Frankie. Samba Simba is a good guy who is tribe man from Africa. Shane Douglas is a good guy and a young talent in the WWF.

The jobbers are the last group of wrestlers, they are the ones who always lose and always get beat up. Barry Hardy, Bob Bradley, Brooklyn Brawler, Chris Stanley, Chris Walker, Iron Mike Sharpe, Italian Stallion, Reno Riggins, and Kevin Krueger are always on the losing end of things.

Not everyone in the WWF is a wrestler, Rowdy Piper a crazy Scotsman and "Macho Man" Randy Savage who's probably as crazy as Piper are two good guys who do commentary work on T.V. Andre The Giant a man who is 7'4 500 pounds shows up from time to time to help out the other good guys. Jack Tunney is the President of The WWF, who makes the tough decisions. Bobby "The Brain" Heenan known as The Weasel who is a commentator on T.V.

Speaking of Heenan, the WWF has plenty of people who manage wrestlers. Every manager is a bad guy or girl, depending on who it is. Jimmy Hart, Mr. Fuji, Brother Love, General Adnan, Sensational Sherri, and The Dr. Of Style Slick round out the managers in the WWF.

    Champions of The WWF

    by Isaac Ward

The WWF has three championship belts and one unofficial WWF belt, the WWF World Title, The Intercontinental Title, The WWF Tag Team Titles and The Million Dollar Title. The WWF World Champion is Hulk Hogan who won the belt for a third time at Wrestlemania from Sgt. Slaughter. The WWF Intercontinental Champion is Mr. Perfect who won the title in November from The Texas Tornado making this his second title reign. The Nasty Boys shocked the world by winning the WWF Tag Team Titles from The Hart Foundation at Wrestlemania VII. The unofficial title in the WWF is the Million Dollar Title held and created by Ted DiBiase.
