  1. Wow who would have thought at the all star break the Indians would have a chance at first in august. They have made up 7 games in 10 days and can make that 8 in 11 if they beat the twins and tie for first. I even heard them talkinng on BBTN about the possibility of Hafner as MVP. Even I as a Cleveland fan was surprised to hear that but with 23 Hr, 91 RBI and a .324 avg what do you think. In those catigories he is in the top 10 in all and I think the top 5 in RBI.

  2. Who would have though the Indians would be leading the league in runs and winning like they are later in the season. I would say they have a chance at taking the division lead soon depending on how they do this weekend against the Twins. They also have an outside chance at the wild card they are 3-4 games out but they got a better chance at winning the division. Here are some useless fact to the Indians are 21-3 for games on the weekend at home and are 10-0 whenever Wickmen has been in a game so far. If they had Wicky the whole year they could be leading the division.

  3. CLEVELAND -- Needing to replace Carlos Boozer, the Cleveland Cavaliers acquired Drew Gooden in a four-player trade with Orlando on Friday, sending the Magic forward Tony Battie and two second-round draft picks.

In their second major deal this week, the Cavaliers also got rookie forward Anderson Varejao and 7-foot center Steven Hunter -- a former first-round pick -- from Orlando.

Gooden should help Cleveland offset the surprising loss of Boozer, who bolted as a free agent when he signed a six-year, $68 million offer sheet with Utah last week.

The 6-foot-10, 242-pound Gooden isn't quite as good as Boozer, but he's young, talented and inexpensive.

Gooden averaged 11.6 points and 6.5 rebounds in 79 games -- 17 starts -- for the Magic last season. Drafted with the No. 4 overall pick in 2002 by Memphis, Gooden was traded by the Grizzlies to Orlando during his rookie year.

Gooden's raw talents had the Magic believing he could be a big man to build around.

The former Kansas star capped the 2002-03 season by averaging 14 points and 12.7 rebounds in a seven-game playoff series against Detroit in which he outplayed Pistons star center Ben Wallace.

The Magic signed free agent Juwan Howard before last season, hoping he and Gooden could play together. However, the experiment was quickly shelved, and Gooden was sent to the bench.

Last season, Gooden recorded a team-high 18 double-doubles (points-rebounds), 23 fewer than Boozer got for the Cavaliers.

Orlando, which lost a league-high 61 games last season, has been overhauled since John Weisbrod was hired as general manager in March. Of the 15 players, active and injured, on the roster when the Magic ended the season, only five remain: Keith Bogans, Andrew DeClercq, Pat Garrity, Grant Hill and Britton Johnsen.

Meanwhile, this was the second trade in four days for Cleveland, which is attempting to regroup following Boozer's unexpected departure.

On Tuesday, the club acquired point guard Eric Snow from Philadelphia for Kevin Ollie and Kedrick Brown. The Cavaliers may not be done making trades, either. They have reportedly shopped guard Dajuan Wagner and center DeSagana Diop.

Battie, 27, was a solid defender and role player in Cleveland, averaging 5.4 points and 4.8 rebounds in 50 games after coming over in a December trade from Boston.

Varejao and Hunter, too, can help the Cavaliers recover from losing Boozer, the club's leading rebounder last season.

The 6-foot-10 Varejao was drafted by the Magic with the first pick in the second round (No. 30 overall) in last month's draft. The 21-year-old averaged 7.7 points and 5.0 rebounds for F.C. Barcelona last season, but the Brazilian national team player has some work to do before he can be a contributor in the NBA.

Hunter, 22, averaged 3.2 points and 2.9 rebounds and blocked 73 shots in 69 games last season. He was selected with the No. 15 overall pick in the 2001 draft by Orlando after playing just two years at DePaul.

Here is another good trade for the Cavs in the past few days. I know Gooden wont be able to completly fill Boozer shoes but he will be able to help out. They also didnt give up much to get him or the other guys. Like the article says I wouldnt be surprised to see Wagner go since they now have 2 PG ahead of him. I just hope Paxson can churn out another good trade and things might not look as bad as they did after the Boozer fiasco.

  4. I just read on ESPN.com that the Indians have agree to terms with Aaron Boone as long as he passes his physical this weekend. I hope it works out for the indians since he might get them some power even though he isnt a huge power hitter. This also surprise me since most people were expecting the indians to get rid of money rather then spend more. Maybe it means they are serious about making a run this year even if it means an alomst for sure defeat in the first round

  5. The Olympics are held in the US so often for one factor money. I wouldnt be suprised if the NY gets them but I am guessing Paris will since they got higher grades from the IOC from the last round. I doubt Madrid will get it because of fear of safty on trasportation and Moscow just doesnt seem like a good place to host summer Olympics I mean the weather just seems like it would be cooler there.

  6. Seems like CC Sabthia could easly be 5-1 right now if the bullpen just did decent. The hitting isnt to bad but if they put more runs on the board the bullpen would probaly have just an eaiser time keeping a lead. The Indians are hovering around .500 in a division which you can win with about that kind of record so in short I am pretty happy so far.

  7. I am pretty sure Rupert will win the millon he is such a fan favorite. It is also funny how everyone looks alot different then they did on the show other then Rupert who looks to be wearing the exact same clothes. I though Rob took all the bullets and that is the reason Amber won even though Rob may have played a better game. Also a question does secound place still get $200000 if so that is going to be a pretty rich couple.
