  1. The Attitude Era mode seems closer to what you find in MMA games such as UFC 3. They have the historical fight with a list of objectives and your goal is to complete those objectives. The added bonus here is that you'll get a whole storyline out of it instead of just one match.

  2. The only midnight showing I've been to was for the last Harry Potter movie. It was a fun experience. Kids were dressing up, there were News crews everywhere. Once we got into the film it was actually pretty decent watching it with that kind of crowd. Normally I hate when people talk through movies or be obnoxious but normally the crowd's reaction was just a louder version of my own so I didn't really mind. (By louder I mean, if I laughed at something there would a loud crowd laugh or if something was sad [snape scene] then you'd hear people crying etc.)

Obviously everyone enjoys things differently, though.

  3. Watched Drive since everyone has been talking about it. It started out interestingly, then it got really slow, then shit hit the fan and all hell broke lose. I can understand why some people thought it was amazing and I thought it was pretty great but I wouldn't put it in my top ten or anything.

  4. Oh god, Simpson quotes have become part of my everyday speech. Soo many references.

I answer the phone to "Ahoy-hoy" all the time and pretty much consistently answer with a whiny "YYYEEEEEESSSSSS?" whenever someone calls my name. "The blurst of times" comes up a lot with my friends and when someone stumbles over a word or can't spell something, someone is bound to say "Do-deca-hee-dron".

"Shut Up. That's why" from the The Truman Show gag is used as a retort.

I'm pretty sure I used to sing Nelson's "Joy to the World, the teacher's dead" song all the time as a kid.

"Awww...He thinks he's people" is used for everything pet related as well.

Man, now I want to watch Simpson episodes.

EDIT: Also, "Ze Goggles! Zey do nothing!" is the best of quotes.

  5. That led me to look up the highest grossing films of all time to see where it's currently ranked. I then learned that Transformers: Dark of the Moon is 4th all time. This depresses me.

Maybe it's just because I don't hate the Transformers franchise as much as the rest of the internet but I think Avatar being 1st is a lot more depressing.

It'd be depressing, but it's got kind of an excuse with it being the first real 3D film. I thought it was fairly overhyped, but the 3D was wonderful and for the technology alone I think I'm fine with it being that high up.

I don't get the Avatar hate personally. Outside of being the first real 3D film (and still one of the only ones that used the technology well), it was a well-written and directed adventure film that took classic adventure and love stories, added many creative ideas and story elements and put it all together a neat and engaging package that was just all very well done. Avatar is also the only film in the Top 15 highest grossing movies of all time that is not based on a book, true story or an established brand/franchise. Yet people bash it for being unoriginal.

Pocahontas and Fern Gully say hi.

I understand why Avatar is the highest grossing film of all time. The movie was inoffensive fun and had a cool gimmick attached to it (that has lost all luster now). The CGI was amazing and really was breath taking to watch. Original? No. Good movie? Yes.

I still say that the film woudn't have done half as well if it didn't have the 3D attached to it though.

  6. Though, I will say it annoyed me how obviously out of order it was aired. I mean, at the end of the episode Troy and Abed were in the study room! You know, from the school they've been kicked out of and is being run by their crazed enemy and they spent the next episode trying to break into. No big deal in this episode, they just waltzed right on in.

You're ignoring the obvious flaw that the game they play that was designed in....the 70's? has them start out in their study room.

  7. Glad to see that Once Upon a Time is renewed. I honestly went into it thinking it would last a season and resolve so it was interesting when I caught the finale tonight and it ended on a cliffhanger. Also good to see Castle is renewed but that was pretty obvious.

I need to find shows that are starting up, now that all the shows I *was* watching have ended. This Revolution one looks alright, might keep track of that.
