  2. Alright, I understand you better now...but I still disagree with what you said about Cubs fans. I mean, you were talking like it was pointless for anyone to think that they had a chance, when that clearly wasn't the case. They made the playoffs one year after having the worst record in their division, and they had a much better team that they have in the past couple of years. Why wouldn't Cubs fans hope for the best?
  3. Yeah, it's too bad that my Cubbies lost. I mean, I love the team. I root for them every year, and it sucks to see them lose again. Oh well, there's not much to say I suppose. All that I can do is hope for another chance next year.
  4. George has always been my favorite Beatle. I think that his work with the group was often under-appreciated when compared to Lennon/McCartney, and I like his solo stuff the best. John's and Paul's solo careers are hit and miss with me. I absolutely LOVE some of the things that they do, but other things I just...I dunno, I just don't enjoy it so much. I just love everything that George does. Ringo isn't bad, but I don't like him as much as the others.
  5. Goldfinger Bond: I think you made your point. Thank you for the demonstration. Goldfinger: Choose your next witticism carefully Mr. Bond, it may be your last. Bond: Do you expect me to talk? Goldfinger: No Mr. Bond, I expect you to die! Bond: The name's Bond. James Bond. Rocky Mickey: You'll be able to spit nails, kid. Like the guy says, you're gonna eat lightning and you're gonna crap thunder. You're gonna become a very dangerous person.
  6. You don't have to see the first two movies to understand this one. It's been a while since I've watched the first two and I was fine, and the people I went with hadn't seen the others at all and they were still able to understand what was going on.
  7. I saw the movie, and I loved it. It was the perfect way to end the series, I think. It answered almost all of the questions that it should have, and it left a little bit open at the end just in case they decide to add on to the trilogy sometime in the future. Great movie, though. It started off a bit slow in my opinion, but after a little while it just got...tense.

    Madden 08

My brother bought the game for PS2, and I'm a little disappointed with what I've seen so far. I knew that it wouldn't be as good as the next-gen versions, but it's pretty much exactly the same game as last year with updated rosters. I know that people pick on Madden for being too similar to the previous version all the time, but usually they at least add a few things every year. This year, for the PS2, there's hardly anything different.
  9. I've enjoyed the competition so far, I just wish that I could have participated in the voting before hand. I think that's what this list really needs...more people voting. It seems to me that some characters made it in just because one or two people put them at the top of their list, which wouldn't have happened if we had more voters. So, next time, maybe leave nominations open longer and advertise the thing more? I don't know why I missed them, as I browse through here quite often, but I'm sure I'm not the only person who missed out. More people should definitely help whatever problems this thing has though, and it should create a "better" list.
  10. Here's my rankings... 1. Deathly Hallows 2. Prisoner of Azkaban 3. Half-Blood Prince 4. Order of the Phoenix 5. Goblet of Fire 6. Sorcerer's Stone 7. Chamber of Secrets I dunno, it's hard though. I think that Hallows is the best, but Azkaban has always been a personal favorite of mine. I think that book had the best pacing of all of them, it just had a good feeling to it, I think. After those two, though, the rest of the order doesn't really matter all that much. I like them all pretty much the same, but after reflecting over the past week or so, that's the list I've come up with.
  11. Here's a nice little article that I found, it does contain a few spoilers, but Rowling pretty much confirms that she'll be writing a "Harry Potter Encyclopedia," which should wrap things up after the lackluster epilogue. http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/19935372/
  12. I got done reading the book last night, I loved it. I stayed away from the Spoilers, and it was probably my favorite book out of the series. Anyway, my favorite is Albus Dumbledore, with Sirius in at second. There aren't really any characters that I dislike though, and I like most of them (Lupin, Snape, Aberforth, etc.) That's actually one of the series' strengths. It's not overly complex, some people might find it "kiddy," but the characters are really fun for me.
  13. I've always wanted to start a season with an old team like that, just to see what it would be like. I'm sure I'll get around to it eventually, it just seems like a fun thing to do. How are the stats in that season, by the way? Is Cobb doing well?
  14. I have the game, and I love it. It's actually what I'm using for my diary right now, but I just love playing the game. It's simple, yet complex at the same time, you know?
  15. If you're playing Franchise mode, you can play your team's AA and AAA games. They don't really have the full minor league rosters, but they've got all of the key players along with some made-ups to fill the space.
  16. You're gonna get rocked for a while until you get your guy better stats, it's pretty realistic. You can't just expect to walk into the big leagues in your first season and shut down the other team, it's not going to happen. It doesn't take long to build stats, though. By the end of my first season as a starter, I was dominating major league teams as my Cubbies won the World Series.
  17. I've been holding out strong so far, guys. For some reason, I'm actually not too hyped for the book (I'm not as into them as I once was) so not reading the spoilers is actually pretty easy, I should easily make it to Saturday. For me, the problem is going to be not flipping to the end of the book as soon as I get it. I'm even going to try to avoid looking at the chapter titles if I can do it.
  18. All of this sudden Nintendo/Wii hate stems from E3. I mean, did anyone else watch their press conference? They spent a good 20 minutes on their new game, Wii Fit. It looks like a cool concept and all, but it pissed people off. Why? E3 is a gaming convention, and Nintendo devoted a great deal of their time to talking about bringing in the "casual" crowd. That doesn't make a whole lot of sense to be honest, as none of those "casual" people are going to follow the coverage of E3. That's what pissed people off. It's not the fact that they believe Nintendo is going completely "casual," it's the fact that they seemed to focus more on gaining new gamers than they did trying to please the gamers who have stuck with them for years. Are they doing the right thing? I don't know, I don't have a Wii, so I'm not really going to judge it. That's just what I've gathered from reading the boards and whatnot.
  19. Damn, I really wish I would've noticed this thing while the voting was still going on. No offense, but I can't imagine why half of these people are even on the list. It seems to me that you needed a larger number of people voting, as it appears that if one person rated a character high on their list, they got enough points to make the list. Hopefully the Top 50 is better. With all of that being said, this has been fun to watch so far. It just seems a bit strange when I don't know who some of the characters are.
  20. Get the Show. 2k7 is good for PS3/360, but it sucks for the other platforms. The Show has the best core gameplay out of any MLB game right now.
  21. I'm sure that Kojima knew when he completed MGS2 that he'd have to make a sequel to it eventually. I mean, look at the ending he gave it. He left things pretty open. It might have been his intention originally to end the series at two games, though.
  22. It's been hinted at, though. Kojima is always sure to specify that it's his last Metal Gear Solid game, and that it's the last with Solid Snake. He never says that it's the last Metal Gear game, though. I believe I've actually read some interviews where he talks about turning things over to the younger guys, too.
  23. Yeah, Kojima just wants to move on. I'm guessing that he'll wrap up the Metal Gear Solid series with this one, but then he'll hand over the reigns to Metal Gear to someone else, probably with a new story and new characters. Anyway, Microsoft pretty much has me now. The only game I want for PS3 is Metal Gear, and there's still a chance that it might show up for the 360 sometime in the future. Nintendo almost won me over too, but I can't see myself spending the next few years with a Wii alone, it's too gimmicky for my taste. I'd end up buying only a few games, and that's no good. Maybe I'll get one towards the end of its life-cycle, since the price will surely be down and all the good games will be out (new Zelda, eventually). 360 though...it just looks killer. I hope the price drops down a bit, because when it does, I'll definitely be getting one. Call of Duty 4, GTA IV, Halo 3, Assassin's Creed, etc. all for a cheaper price than the PS3.
