  1. When Josi made that bad, half-ass play against the boards, I knew Penguins were coming down and scoring. Going that long without your goalie having any action, and with a shot like that, no way Pekka was making that save.   I don't see Penguins stealing 4 games like this, so they will have to play much better next game.

What a game, thank goodness the right team won. Now they just gotta beat Nashville and go back to back.

The wrong team won if you ask me. Wrong because I'M SICK OF THEM! Wrong because NOBODY LIKES THEM!!!

Yes, you can call me salty and a Preds bandwagon fan. :)

For real though, congrats to penguins, but I hope they lose...

The problem for Pittsburgh is that Ottawa has exceptional defense at this stage and Pittsburgh does not. Pittsburgh winning this round is going to completely fall on the shoulders of Fleury. Really, the entire playoffs has been about how well Fleury has been playing. I think he (or Karlson) have been the MVPs so far. Karlson probably more so, but I am a Penguins fan at the end of the day so I am biased towards giving Fleury the props to excelling.

Sens looked like absolute crap against the Rangers for most of the series.  Rangers struggled when they had the lead and blew games they should have won. Honestly, Sens struggled to generate offense and struggled anytime the puck was cycled down low in their own zone. Karlsson is paying injured and if you make him go east-west quickly, he's fallen a few times. When he skates North - South, he can still burn you

Anderson was shaky anytime he had to handle the puck. He made some nice down low saves but really had a hard time against shots jut thrown at the net from different angles.

Niskanen should have been responsible for his stick, and he clearly drove it into Crosby's head, whether there was intent or not, he did it, Crosby is hurt, probably done for the series, he should be held accountable. Ovechkin should have been given a penalty too.

It's a disgrace there's no punishment on the hit and Pittsburgh probably will lose the series because of dirty shit like that. I almost wish someone would injure someone important on their team "accidentally" and see what would happen.

Yes, Niskanen deserves a penalty for not being responsible for his stick.  Wasn't there a penalty called? That was not a suspension worthy penalty when Niskanen didn't go out of his way to hit Crosby.   The entire play happened on a penalty not called on Ovechkin, not because of an intent from Niskanen.  It sucks that Crosby has a concussion now, but Niskanen only got his hands / stick up when Crosby crossed his path, changing directions.  From what I've seen from the twitter hockey media, excluding Button and Cherry, most weren't calling for Niskanen to be suspended, most are upset on what Ovechkin did - whacking somebody from behind like that.

Penguins radio network host, Metzer, said "Without Ovechkin's stick work there is no Niskanen hit".

Only a 3rd of NHL coaches and GM surveyed said they would give Niskanen a 1 game suspension, while the others said no suspension.

I think it's unfortunate that Crosby got injured here, but I don't see this being a suspension type play from Niskanen.

I read that Crosby was back at the arena and told a worker there he was ok, hopefully he's ok and it was a precaution, but fuck the Caps, Niskanen should be suspended if Crosby is injured. Only way the Caps can win is to play dirty, and with no Crosby, I don't see the Pens winning this.

Suspended for that? Niskanen barely did anything on that and was put in an unfortunate position of having to protect himself from Crosby colliding with him.  This all happens because of Ovechkin.  He whacked Crosby across the back and brings his stick back against Crosby's head as their skates touch, that put Crosby off balance and changed where he was skating. If you slow it down, it's almost Ovechkin's hit the head that Crosby's body reacted to the most.   I don't think there's any reason to suspend Niskanen.

  6. You need guns, but...

Getting Michonne that deer was more important than killing the walkers stacked up against the gate.  I had more of a problem with this than I probably should be having, considering I can understand the meaning there.  This felt like half an episode with the other half missing.

I bet not one of them would've had any idea had they not read about it prior. How were they trolling her? "Ha, you've had a baby". Yep.

I don't know. It looked kinda' obvious to me.  Nonetheless, pretty shitty of some people.

I was quite impressed the two pairs of skates were the right size.

They were cheap strap blades.. Size didn't matter if they were adult skates!! ...Unless Carl has clown feet for his size...  If I couldn't skate like Carl, I'd definitely be rocking out the blades without any fear of zombies coming near me...

  9. It's really a new team to be honest. They gave the team to McDavid instead of Hall, got rid of Yakupov. signed toughness in their lineup, and improved their D with Adam Larsson and Kurt Russel.  For a guy that was going unsigned he has looked so good for them.

EDIT:  Kris Russell.   Obviously Kurt would improve their Defense though.

To be fair, Brian Elliott (when not playing under Ken Hitchcock) makes any player look capable of scoring a hatty, so 6 points outta McJesus would be on-par.

That's true.  But I meant more about looking dominate in everything he does on the rink. However, the Flames look really bad right now.

I use nhltv, dunno if it's the same thing, but on it you can choose to hide scores.

I know during the login it has NHL.tv and Rogers for my app - I am assuming it's the same thing. The app had a huge overall last year as has been a lot more reliable when it comes to buffering, and a clear resolution.  Overall, I do like it - but you should probably use a VPN and purchase it as if you're in Russia, I think it's a lot cheaper...  At least that was the case 2 years ago when I did it from my phone.  With logging in to NHL.tv, I can hide the scores.

I used it yesterday.  Matthews looked great last night with the leafs, although some of the defense looked brutal for the Sens and I thought the goalie could have had a couple.  Great debut. That's something he'll never forget.

I watched the Oilers - Flames, and holy shit McDavid dominated nearly every shift he was on the rink. If Ebs or Lucic could score, he could have easily had 6-7 points. Hype from the new building and home opener, but just on another level from everybody on the rink.

Do you use the skill sticks? I've never gotten used to it so I still play with hybrid controls but I'm told you can do so much more if you can learn the skill stick.

Still stick makes the gum a lot more fun in my opinion. I don't have NHL 17 yet, but If the option is still there, I recommend using free skate and playing the with skill stick 1-1 with a goalie.

  13. I can't remember the last time I did not buy NHL the day it was released. For some reason, I just wasn't excited this year after playing the beta.  The stick lift was real iffy, and it seemed like a poke-check heavy game.  I do agree that the AI seemed to be tougher to play against. I didn't notice any significant improvements.  Most likely I'll be picking this up if it's on sale for Black Friday, like previous years.

  14. I liked how the development of the way Chris died will impact the group, especially Travis, but damn am I the only one who wanted to see something far worse happen to Chris? Not that getting into a car accident and being shot in the head isn't bad but, I just felt like that character made you want to see him really get it.

Can I ask some questions here? Spoiler answers if need be.

I have not yet watched a second of season 2(nor season 6 of the parent show). I have not even really kept up with it but I have read recaps for 2 of the episodes and paid attention to chatter. Based off my limited exposure to it, I have questions about 2 characters.

There was so much love for Daniel Salazar in season 1 and I echoed those sentiments. However I've barely heard any talk about him which leads me to fear that they have either:

-killed him off(although I'd wager if they had, I'd surely heard of that).

-sidelined him(which seems a waste of a good character).

-ruined his character, with a seasons worth of poor storylines.

So what's the deal with Daniel in season 2?

Same kind of thing with Travis. Whether it was love for the actor, the character, or even both, he was popular. I've seen him mentioned but I don't see the same buzz about him now. Has he been a victim of poor storylines?

The way thy handled Daniels character was to write him off in a way that makes you think he's probably dead. Although you didn't actually see it, you don't think Daniel survived.  I'm going to assume that there's no way they actually went ahead and completely killed off his character, and like RUKI posted, Daniel could show up on the 2 hour finale, or next season.

Travis - after the mid-season break, Travis didn't have much on-screen time outside of like 2 episodes.  He's now in a position where that should change for the finale and for next season.

  16. No doubt he should have been on the team. I think leaving Faulk off the team was a bigger insult, and while I strongly believe this team was doomed, with or without, Phil Kessel - adding some increased speed/skill with Kessel, Tyler Johnson, and Fowler/Shattenkirk would have definitely improved Team USA.  Even Leddy was a better option than Jack Johnson.   I can see why some of Team USA was not thrilled with the tweet Kessel made.

Looks like we won't be getting North America/Canada :(

  17. Team North America, definitely fun to watch.  I'm sure some of the vets don't want to lose to a bunch of kids, but the speed they play with will probably carry them in this tournament.

I'd like to see McDavid shoot more. he beats a defender up the wing, and tries to either cut to the front of the net while protecting the puck, or he goes around the net, passing up several opportunities to shoot. My goodness can he stop on a dime.

How sick has Nathan Mackinnon looked? Hope he has a career year.

  18. I got the impression that Oilers wanted Subban, but Bergs thought he could get Oilers to part with Hall + Leon, or another piece with Hall.  Oilers backed at and went with Larsson so Montreal traded for what might have been their next best offer, or a panic move after Oilers backed out.   Just a thought, really.

I can't see Ladd being useful for the Islanders toward the end of his term.  Same with Lucic for the Oilers.
