  1. Idk, I think it'll help. Obviously he's a more offensive defensmen, but he was in the league top 5 for +/- like a year ago...

On a side note, I was floating aroudn fhockey and found this:

I'm beginning to hate the Leafs.

You guys finally turned him straight. Or close to it.

  2. Just read near the fantasy pages on ESPN about Meszaros. Apparently someone over there here's 'rumors running rampant' that Tampa Bay is the team in on Meszaros. Of course they'd have to move Ottawa they're 1st, 2nd and 3rd in '09. Tampa's 3rd in '09 is owned by Pittsburgh now, making the idea null, but they're hearing TBay is working hard on reacquiring it to make this happen. Not sure what to make of this, but if TBay got him, another questionable move in the line of many, but I'd be damn if they're not yet a better team again after it.

  3. On PSD everyone was trying to break down who it might be. The three most likely teams it came down to were Colorado, LA, and I think Atlanta or Columbus.

I could see Colorado doing it, their offense isn't as good as it was last year so maybe trying to shore up the other end. LA is also below the cap floor still and they said they were looking for a good dman to head their squad, this could be the guy they were looking for. While also getting above the cap that is.

  4. So I'm looking for a movie to watch, but I'm horrible at deciding as always. I have Movies OnDemand at my disposal, any suggestions?

I already saw 21 the other night... and I'm saving Into the Wild for when I have a broad over, so pretty much anything other then that, that isn't shitty.

    Here's the choices

  5. Is that through Yahoo?

Head to Head each week? I'm not sure what that entails exactly, but I'd much prefer just a season long, overall race.

Ya it's on yahoo. And head to head is simple. There's two divisions. Each week you play someone random from the league. The categories are those I listed above, you want to win those for the week between the two. So let's say of the 12 categories you won 8, your 'record' would be 8-4. So in the overall standings you would be 8-4 probably in first or second. Then if you played Ruki and went 4-8, your record then would adjust to 12-12 after the second week.

But we'll see what everyone else wants to do, then we'll decide. I don't mind doing the overall race, just points, but I prefer H2H.

  6. Well I was thinking:

G, A, P, +/-, PPG, SHG, GWG, PIMs (maybe, would you guys want to?)

    W, GAA, Sv, SO

    hows that sound?

I would assume to do Head to Head each week with those as the categories... if anyone wants to do one or not do one let me know, but that's what I'd probably go with

  7. Yes, toe, I'm sure the Flyers fans will think this makes them, even more so, Gods gift to hockey next season, but if he's playing like he can, they're D did just get a little better. I was kinda hoping the Rangers would invite him to camp, but we need a more defensively responsible defensemen anyways.

  8. OK, well yahoo hasn't yet 'openend' fantasy hockey. So I guess if Basha wants to continue the old league that's cool, he just needs to give me a spot. <_< But if not we'll go on with this.

Any suggestions on how you guys would like to do scoring and categories? One thing I will not do is ATOI, which apperantly ESPN does. Gay.

  9. I'll be staying with the EA Series. It's not steered me wrong in my years as a fan, and the one year I did try 2k, I traded it in after a month for the EA game.

One thing that really irked me though, is the lack of ability to delete created players. I kept everything up to date by hand until May when I went live on my Xbox... and then with the downloaded rosters, I have several duplicate players. The ability to delete those would be nice.

I might be wrong, but with your created players wouldn't you have to continually load the roster file in order to use them? So you should've just been able to not load the roster file where you've created them, and then get the new rosters from online. I could be wrong, but that should do it.

That being said, I'm going 09 all day. I mean, they've improved the defense and FINALLY got the Career Mode. I'm pumped about that big time. Your view on 2k9 interests me alot though. The only thing 2k had for me, which I haven't had since 2k5, was a great franchise mode. I mean, you can 2-4 team it, love that. Keeps thing interesting with your friends. And the offseason in 2k was just much, much better overall. From scouting, contract re-signing to drafting. It was head and shoulders above. I really hope EA improved the franchise at least a little bit on top of adding the Career Mode. I wouldn't hate it if there were more--and better-- logo options for the create a team, but that's minor.

So I guess I'm going with the EA series again, I'll probably rent the 2k to see if it's worth it.

  11. If only Nolan could see the chain reaction using a pseudonym like Mr. Reese would stir.

As JC said, I like that idea behind Penguin. I think it could be very fitting for his character to be a front for Harvey Dent. Perhaps Dent could be vindictive towards Gotham and Batman and his attack is re-organizing the Organized Crime in Gotham, sending it amok after the work he did.

I'm not sure why it seems out of the picture for him to fit in Nolans universe though. I mean, nicknames are nicknames. Given, the Penguin might be a bit harder to explain as a nickname, but as far as making him a respectable character in the Nolan universe, I'm not seeing it that hard. So maybe he has a old war injury, resulting in a limp, resembling a waddle. Maybe you could do something with the nose, perhaps wouldn't be neccesary, but even if you did I don't think it would have to be drastic. Perhaps even the logic behind the nickname could be because of the small beak like nose to go along with the fact his injury gives him the gimp. Doesn't seem so off base.

Maybe Dent could be in Arkham and some sort of force or circumstance alows him to escape, somehow leading to this relationship with Penguin on the outside.

On a side note, I think if Phillip Seymour Hoffman had gotten the role his brilliance as an actor alone would keep the role very respectable. He's the fuckin man. Period.

  12. "I am here to announce I still need more time to make my decision."

    Probably.

Ek had rumors up we're trading Gomer to make room for Sundin. That wouuld be the worst possible way to approach any situation involving him. There was also a story on his site that last year he was waiting on a trade to the Rangers and thats why he said he'd waive his clause, but when it came down to it and the Rangers stepped out thats when he renegged. Not sure how true it is, but it makes a little sense.

Oh, and the Todd Bertuzzi country song, because it's the only one I can think of.

  13. Nolan will only do three, that's what he has said, I'm almost sure of that. Maybe someone has a link to the interview he said it in? Bale said the same thing, he'll do it as long as Nolan does I believe. I think they could be convinced to do a fourth if the third ones good. I don't think this series should end after three, just because Nolan leaves. He's built such a superb world that it's almost foolish to not keep making them. I mean, you don't have to pump them out every year or two years, but let a constant world and stories build. Let villians come and go, ala the Joker, he could take a movie off and come back. Just my thoughts.

But it did work for Harry Potter, and the Bonds, they all make a bunch.

  14. I really hate how people talk about not recasting the Joker, like it's forever locked away as Heath Ledger's baby. Not that you (Jairus) are saying that, but when people talk about it, its like he has it trademarked. I mean don't get me wrong, I loved his performance just as much as any of you, but its unrealistic to think it wont and shouldn't be done. They're a major production company with smart people working in casting. I'm sure they'll make a fine choice. Plus I think, like said above, there's way to much left between Batman and Joker to be told. If you close that door, you're screwing yourself over. I think they shouuld and will recast it.

  15. Fuck yes. Awesome, it's a big soon, but I'm not worreid about the quality of the disc becasue of timing. Like you've said I've always loved Bloc Party, and I thought the sophmore album was a good strong follow up. I'm haven't even run my course on it, I'm gonna have to start out playing that shit!

  16. A couple of good mentions so far. I agree Prison Break would be a good pick, as would Nip/Tuck. Those series are very strong in the beginning, but you'll get so roped in them sucking later on wont matter. I always found the OC enteraining even through a few viewings, but as I got older I could give two shits about anyone other then Rachel Bilson.

So for an original idea for you: Weeds, Rescue Me, It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia
