  1. Until I hear otherwise, I figure I'll just stick to the Johto/Kanto region. I started my game, named myself "Florian", and picked "Chikorita". Looking forward to catching my "Bellsprout", and defeating Falkner. :)

    And because I was curious:

    tenaciousg - Water (Emerald)
    HeadCheese - Normal (FireRed)
    Christian BerTeke - Rock (Gold)

    Larz - Fighting (Leaf Green)
    Benjin Stark - Flying (FR/LG)
    stokerino - Bug (Fire Red)
    Chris2K - Electric (Crystal)
En Dub - Fire (Leaf Green)
Types available: Steel, Dark, Dragon, Ice, Poison, Ghost.

  2. Benji, do what I did. HOLD A LOTTERY. Throw all 30 or 32 teams in a hat, depending on which league you're looking at, and slowly start eliminating teams from the hat. Get some other people involved, and create some suspense.

I did that this year for the NBA, and it came down to the Nuggets and Knicks. Would I hate Carmelo, or would I love him?

Well, it turns out that he is one of the top players in the league, and we're lucky to have him. ;)

I actually had a blast doing this, and may do it again when NFL looks to get started.

  3. Not impossible but probably pretty unlikely. Falcons seems to have a lot of local support for some reason, there's a bit of a history with Winnipeg and that name.

Jets' trademark isn't owned by the Coyotes. As for the Falcons... really? Every single person I know from the Peg, and people here in Brandon are dying for the Jets. Plus, every major poll online is roughly 2.5-1 for the Jets.

  4. Hughes is harder to find an opponent for, because he's not fighting for a paycheck anymore. If he was willing to take any fight I'd say Dan Hardy would be perfect...but maybe another DH, in Dennis Hallman? Hallman beat Hughes twice very early in both men's careers, vengeance for those losses might motivate Hughes, and Hallman's got a bit of momentum after beating a talentless Karo Parisyan last night...

Rampage...like I said, no interest in a rematch, but he doesn't deserve a title shot either. Maybe a rematch with Forrest Griffin, with the winner being in the title mix? Washed up as he is, would Couture go down to 205 to fight Rampage? Rampage vs. Rick Franklin?

Dennis Hallman's agent has stated he won't take the fight, as it doesn't make sense. I'm inclined to agree. Hughes/Hardy would be fun though.

As for any Rampage/Machida rematch, I doubt you need to worry. Dana believes Rampage won the fight, so he said there will no immediate rematch. It's unfortunate, because I actually did enjoy the fight, and I had Machida winning, as most people did. In fact, Dana is the only person I've heard who thought Rampage won. It was a close fight, but I don't see how you can clearly give it to anyone but Machida. At worst, it should have been a draw.
