Everyone told me how good A Star is Born was, but nobody warned me how fucking gutting it is too 😥

I would have gone for January 2004, as it is an area barely covered in this iteration of the game. 2002 isn't bad either. Good luck.
If you go into the all elite mods thread, I posted the beta for my January 2004 mod

Here is the latest BETA of my 2004 mod should you guys want to import from it. I believe this is the latest, I will check my laptop when I get a chance, and will upload any more current version if I find one. There is also a link to Derek B's mod guide in pdf which is really handy.

You’re certainly free to use anything I’ve done, in fact when I get home tonight I will send you the 2016 version I have been working on for the past few years

Also, Genadi’s anti-EWB complex apparently stems from him being a member at one point and getting flamed, which did happen a lot years ago, but doesn’t happen anymore. He should grow the fuck up about it and move on.

Well they can't really do anything about it, but it's more a respect thing. They have some of the better mod makers in their group but I feel like their little group has slowed progress on mod making more than it's helped the community as they claimed it would.
They’ve brought it to a screeching halt to be fair. They also won’t let anyone else host their mods, so when their forum goes away in time, so will all of their mods that they “protect.”

For names, use the best judgment and set them as the primary name that they'd use on the indy circuit. For instance Jay Reso should be Christian Cage with a WWE exclusive alter ego of "Christian." A guy like Edge, I'd use Adam Copeland, because there's no way he'd be able to use Edge anywhere else.
Also, for Bios - I've always liked the concise, almost generic ones like the organic bios in game.
For Example:
Shelton Benjamin
"Shelton Benjamin is an American professional wrestler, born July 9, 1975. He is best known for his tenure in WWE, as well as his work in ROH, NJPW and NOAH. He has also competed under the ring name "Shelton X Benjamin." In WWE, Benjamin has held the WWE Intercontinental, United States and Tag Team titles. He is perhaps best known for his longtime partnership with Charlie Haas, a championship calibre tandem that has been billed as "The World's Greatest Tag Team" and "Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team" across various promotions. Prior to entering the professional wrestling industry, he was a two-sport athlete in college; having won an NJCAA championship in both track and field and collegiate wrestling."

I unlocked Sonic, Bayonetta, and the Punch Out dude last night. Went through Classic mode and committed accidental suicide when it came time to unlock Bowser

Anyone else having trouble with the Smash update? Every time I try, it just says paused and won’t progress. I’ve tried restarting twice, completely powered off, manually closed out of the game, restarted my internet - nothing is working
edit: turns out Fort Night and Rocket League decided to auto update first
-
Just picked up my preorder of Smash after work had me there for a 16 hour shift. Have a ton of freelance projects that should occupy the next four days, but I want to try this out soo bad.

I hate the pinfall system. Submission system too. It's the one thing I wish was either button mashing or based on stamina.

This is almost infuriating sometimes, haha. I bought a Nintendo 64, but I can't find an expansion pack so that I can save my progress on Tony Hawk's Pro Skater... so I'm thinking, okay, I'll just shelve that game until I stumble upon one... but I go to look at other games, and the cheapest Mario Kart I can find says that it's not guaranteed to work, but is still $50. So I look for Mario 64... cheapest copy in town? $75.
If I could go back in time to tell myself one thing, it's that I should never get rid of any of my nerd stuff... ever. I used to have comics that bottom out at $500 a pop in decent condition. I used to have video games that go online for $100 or more now. I used to have action figures that I see go on eBay for enormous amounts of money. It's insane how much money I threw away over the years because of how often I moved growing up.
Sold my entire n64 collection when I went to college and immediately regretted it. It’s taken a few years to get back what I had. And I still haven’t been able to get legit copies of the Mario games
-
I just hate not having a physical copy of a game I purchase. Fair enough if a game is digital only, I’ll deal, but I like collecting and trading - and if I’ve learned anything with the N64, the Nintendo only titles keep their worth many years later.
-
Didn’t realize the Mario Tennis and Smash console bundles are digital downloads. Totally kills the appeal for me.

Even if they're using regular characters, it's always just - knock you down, use up all your reversals with stomps and cheese to a victory.
Yeah, the ridiculous Kevin Owens one where he whips you toward the ropes only to spin you around and kick you in the gut was spammed about 30 times in one match. What are these assholes trying to achieve with that? It can’t be fun to play like that
-
Is there any way to filter out so that you don’t play against people’s shitty CAWs online?
-
Got this for under $30 on Black Friday and just got a chance to play a few matches.
I downloaded a decent Eli Drake CAW and used him against Lars Sullivan at Takeover. Sullivan absolutely mauled me from the opening bell, and I managed to get lucky and hit a stored signature move outside the ring and beat the ten count to get the cheap win. Thought that was quite realistic 😆

Kind of confused with the Let’s Go Pikachu/Lets Go Evie games... are they like the main games on the handhelds or are they heavily tied into Pokémon Go? Thinking about getting my wife her own Switch and one of the games (would be her first Pokémon experience) but I’m hesitant if it isn’t like the games I’ve played on the handhelds. Would there be any benefit to me getting Evie and her Pikachu? Could we trade Pokémon?

Anyone interested in the LA Noire port, it’s $9.99 at GameStop today
-
Hereditary was not at all what I was expecting, but totally enjoyed it. Toni Collette’s performance is incredible.
-
Hopefully Netflix isn’t far behind
-
Picked up Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze for $43 at GameStop a few mins ago. Gonna really miss this Elite Pro Membership once it runs out in January. Hate that they killed it.
-
Super Mario Party is a lot of fun, love the streamlined interface too. This will definitely kill mine and the wife’s free time for a bit.
-
Nope, go right ahead!

Yeah, my angle pack was custom built to reflect EWRs which gives a good base. Although I admittedly usually always write my own when I book the shows.
