the Hottest Rumors on the net!

WCW UNLEASHED SCORES HIGHEST RATING EVER!

Some good news came rolling on the desk of Shane McMahon this morning as  the ratings analysis for last nights awesome Unleashed came in. Unleashed  was said to have scored a 5.22 in the ratings. WWF Raw recieved a 7.11, and  WW Smackdown recieved a 5.84. While still below the ratings that the WWF  recieves this is good news for Shane McMahon and company as the WCW  roster consists of many new faces and stars still trying to get established.

    WCW UNLEASHED! RESULTS 5/19/01

    results sent in by Wrestleboy8601

The soda and popcorn are ready, and so am I for another late Saturday evening at home watching WCW. (sad me) Anyway the opening video to Unleashed plays, ending with a picture of Shane McMahon, that's new. The pyros go off on stage, and according to Arn Anderson who is talking extremely loud due to some early technical problems, we are live from the Kemper Arena in Kansas City, Missouri. Woo hoo! Anderson and Hudson talk about Mike Awesome's surprise appearance as the Main Event busted down last week and we are informed that Mike Awesome will go head to head with Elix Skipper to start things off tonight!

    SINGLES MATCH

Mike Awesome vs Elix Skipper w/ Major Gunns

Skipper is the first to the ring and is accompanied as always by the beautiful and busty, yes I mean BUSTY Major Gunns. She is in a hot bikini baring the Maple leafs, I don't give a damn if she isn't truly Canadian she looks freakin HOT in that outfit. Mike Awesome comes out to his rad new video and entrance, in case you want some background info Skipper is the reason Lance Storm was able to defeat Mike Awesome in the Ambulance Match back at Slamboree, so you know damn well Awesome is going to be hell bent in this one. Awesome recieves a good pop from the crowd, and when he gets in the ring it's almost ridiculous how much of a size advantage he actually has on Skipper. The referee calls for the bell and Awesome spreads his arms apart baring his body open asking for Primetime to take his best shot. Skipper comes in like a ball of fire with fists to the midsection, Awesome shoves Skipper and he literally FLIES across the ring and into the ropes. HUGE clothesline, I was actually SHOCKED that Primetimes head didn't fly off after that one. Awesome plays to the crowd who is totally behind him, and goes to lift up Skipper. Major Gunns decides to use her 'assets' in the match, and jumps up on the apron in an attempt to distract the big man. It works and Awesome stares at the blonde bombshell as she tugs at the straps of her bikini top, Awesome must have telepathy because he moves out of the way in the knick of time and Skipper knocks his valet off of the apron with a dropkick! Total surprise sets up Skipper for his downfall as Awesome spins him around, and delivers the running AWESOME BOMB!

THE FINISH: Awesome decides that one Awesome Bomb isn't enough for the man that cost him one of the most highly publicized matches of his career and he wakes him up to deliver another devistating Awesome Bomb! Mike places one foot on the chest of Skipper and the three count is academic.

    WINNER: @ 5:23 Mike Awesome!

NOTES: I'm bewildered as to just where in the hell Lance Storm was during this match, Skipper has tried to help him in everyone of his battles. Is the Team Canada leader AFRAID of Awesome? The match it's self was pretty much a squash match with Skipper making Awesome look like a monster, but it gelled together.

    RATING: **3\4 (67, 54, 80)

When we come back from commercial break, 'Primetime' Elix Skipper is in the locker room sitting on a bench and Major Gunns is holding an ice pack to his head. Lance Storm is in there as well, and when 'Primetime' asks him why he didn't help him out. Storm insists that he had just arrived to the building but if he would have been here Awesome would have been sorry. Something tells me Storm is fibbing.

From there we go to Pamela Paulshock (yes that's her, and she does still have a job after all.) Next to the big chested blonde stands one of the Cruiserweight Division's fastest rising stars, Jamie Noble. Here's what came about in this one.

PAMELA PAULSHOCK: "Ladies and gentlemen I'm standing by with the man that put on a splendid performance at Slamboree in the Cruiserweight Open Invitation Gauntlet, the man who won it in fact Jamie Noble. Jamie in that match you outlasted wrestling legend Jushin Liger, and former Cruiserweight Champion Juventud Guerrera to win that Gauntlet. What plans do you have next?"

JAMIE NOBLE: "Ha, ha ha! You see Pamela at Slamboree I made a name for myself in this here Cruiserweight division when I won that little gauntlet match, and beat these fools' hero Juvi Guerrera. You see it's time that Jamie Noble made his impact in the Dubbya See Dubbya, and much sooner than later that Cruiserweight title will be comin' home with me!"

Noble walked off after speaking his peace and the ditzy blonde sent things back to Arn and Scott in the ring. (63)

    TAG TEAM MATCH

Shane Helms and Lash Leroux vs Chavo Guerrero Jr. and Jamie Noble

The April 14 edition of Nitro saw this very same match, and the roles of the men participating in it are about the same, that with the exception of Jamie Noble's star being on the rise and the gut instinct that tells me he will take the Cruiserweight title off of Helms before his partner of the night, Chavo Guerrero does. The heels are in the ring first, marking the entrance of Lash Leroux. It's a sad thing that Shane O' Mac and company haven't put much effort into this guy. He has a unique look, funky accent and is damn fine in the ring. The Cruiserweight champion is next, minus the 'Sugar Babies' tonight, maybe he plans on things getting a little ugly on the outside, although I've never seen them actually stay at ringside in a match. Perhaps Helms' unique entrance is getting downgraded due to time constraints, it's too bad 'cause it really sets the Champion apart from the others. All four men are in the ring and after some talking on both sides I guess we're going to see Noble and Leroux starting things off. It's probably good to mention that Noble has new tights with some sort of medieval weaponry on the side, and 'swingblade' written on the back. Is that all WCW can come up with, come on Shane your dad is supposed to be this guy that loves weird and creative characters, didn't any of that rub off? Noble points his finger at Leroux and shouts 'come 'ere boy!' Leroux comes alright with a shot square to Noble's jaw that sends the Gauntlet winner against the ropes. Some pepper shots from the Crazy Cajun and he sends his opponent into the ropes, Noble however comes storming back like a freight train and plows Lash down to the mat with a hard shoulder tackle! Noble seems to be having the time of his life as he displays his technical wizardy tying up Leroux with various submission holds. After a good beat down Noble decides to let Chavo have his fair share of the fun and tags him in. Chavo could really use a new hairstyle, I mean he has so much gel in it I'd bet it's bullet proof. Chavo stands in front of Lash, and the Cajun Sensation grabs at Chavo's tights for leverage to pull himself up. Chavo just knees him in the midsection and delivers his Gory Special, Helms breaks up the count before it even begins, and Chavo's temper flares. Noble and Guerrero share some quick tags in and out making sure to keep Leroux grounded. Chavo and Lash share an exchange of right hands in the corner, Chavo sits on the top rope and has Leroux hooked up for his old pet finisher, the Tornado ddt, but Leroux counters with a release Northern Lights! WOW! Now is his chance to make the tag, as Chavo appears to be out of it. Crawling slowly to make the cover Lash is a foot away, Shane Helms is stomping up and down on the mat to get the crowd behind him. Chavo has regained his senses and is about to tag Noble, he does and Noble charges into the ring to grab Leroux, but the hot tag is made and Shane Helms comes running into the ring, down goes Noble with a leaping forearm to the face! Chavo is up, and Helms takes him down as well with the Sugar Smack! Arn and Scott tell us not to go away, as the show goes to a commercial break! DAMN IT!

    COMMERCIAL BREAK

The show returns and Helms and Guerrero are going at it. Arn Anderson tells us that it has been all Helms since we went to commercial break, and that the men we see in the ring are the legal ones.

THE FINISH: Jamie Noble knocks Leroux off of the apron, and smashes him into the steel ringsteps. The referee hops to the outside to check on the condition of Leroux who is grabbing his knee in pain, the exchange was quite nasty. Noble goes to the announce table and grabs the Cruiserweight Title. Inside of the ring, Helms counters the Gory Special, and hooks up the Vertibreaker. However, before he can hit it, Noble storms into the ring and blasts the Champion with the title! Helms goes down in a heap, and Noble lifts him back up. While in holding shane in the air in vertical suplex position, Noble adjusts his body and releases him, slamming him down into a reverse ddt position (the way Christian does the reverse ddt) THAT WAS AWESOME! Noble makes the pin, not even being the legal man and Charles Robinson decides now is the time to look in the ring, rolling in and making the count!

WINNERS: @ 13:12 Jamie Noble & Chavo Guerrero jr!

NOTES: This was an incredibly long match considering that these were four Cruiserweights in the ring, but for some reason WCW let them go with it. All four men played their roles way, and mark my words, Jamie Noble is on the rise!

    RATING: ****1\2 (77, 62, 92)

Before we head to another commercial Booker T is shown walking down the hallway and Scott Hudson being the genius that he is tells us that Booker T is heading towards Shane McMahon's office! He doesn't look to be in a pleasant mood, the show goes to commercial (75)

I needed that last commercial break in order to slow my heart down, god damn that was a good match, Billy Kidman and Rey Misterio are shown in the lockerroom and it appears that there is still trouble in paradise for these two.

BILLY KIDMAN: "Look Rey, you can say you're sorry all you want, but the fact of the matter is that I didn't need your help out there, in fact I told you I didn't WANT your help. But whatever, that's in the past. Now instead of fighting for the US Title, Shane McMahon has decided to have us use our rematch stip to challenge for the Cruiserweight Tag Titles again tonight."

REY MISTERIO: "You act like that's a bad thing, like you don't want to get those titles back! Look Billy I said I was sorry, and IT WAS an accident!"

BILLY KIDMAN: "Yeah, an accident.....right. All I know is instead of fighting Bagwell for the US Title, we're facing Karagias and Moore again. Try not to blow THIS Rey."

Ouch, some harsh words from Kidman and Misterio looks a little hurt by his best bud's comments. awe. Kidman leaves the locker room and after seeing Rey's face for a good five seconds the cameras finally change back into the arena. (56)

We go back to the arena and the sound of a loud syren is heard, on the WCW Jumbo tron some fighter jets are shown in the sky. The music switches from the syren to a more modern rock beat, and the Air Raid logo comes on the screen with some of the highlights of Styles and Air Paris's brief run in WCW before McMahon got ahold of it. Both come out in matching Adidas Jump Suits and backwards caps, Styles if I'm correct is the one in the black while Paris is in White. If you guys don't have a clue who in the hell these guys are, you're not the only ones.

The two men that cost Moore and Karagias a non title bout with the Jung Dragons here last week take a seat alongside Hudson and Anderson at the announce table. Alright, great job WCW.... you're just now debuting these guys, they haven't had a match on WCW TV in how long and you're giving them open access to live mic? O....K...

    WCW CRUISERWEIGHT TAG TITLE MATCH

Rey Misterio & Billy Kidman vs Evan Karagias & Shannon Moore©

Three Count is out first and once they're in the center of the ring they have some fine choice in words for the two men doing impromptu commentary. Styles and Paris haven't said much of anything in importance, leaving me asking why in the hell have them out here? Kidman and Misterio are out next, Kidman being way ahead of Misterio on the way out, what in the hell is Kidman so bitter about, Rey did appologise and it sure as hell looked like an accident last week? Kidman and Misterio have absolutely no interaction before the bell, Kidman just gets in the ring to start things off with.... I guess Shannon Moore will step up. Collar and elbow to get things started off, then it's the good ol' sequence every wrestler beats to death these days. Kidman is shrugged off and pushed into the ropes, Moore is taken down with a shoulder block and Kidman hurdles him on his way back, but doesn't expect the sweet kick to the face that Shannon delivers. Wow that was indeed an awesome move, and Kidman sold perfectly, Moore with the cover but Kidman kicks out at two. Tag to Karagias, Moore has on an arm wringer and Evan does a little hip gyrating to get all the hot bloodied ladies in the crowd cheering, then plants an elbow into Kidman's shoulder. These two go through some HOT exchanges, and I can't even keep up, Kidman takes Karagias down with a tilt a whirl back breaker then reluctantly makes the tag to Misterio. Kidman drags Karagias into an upright seated position in the corner, then the master of the Shooting Star Press gets on his hands and knees in front of him. Rey is jumping up and down like the jackass he is trying to get the crowd to pop for the Bronco Buster, he sets off and bounces off Kidman for extra height, smashing the Bronco Buster perfectly and playing to the crowd some more. The ref sends Kidman to his corner, and Moore takes offense to the ass kicking that Evan is recieving. He enters the ring and charges but Rey sides steps and tosses him over the top rope. Tag to Kidman, and they do a little double teaming, Kidman is waiting and Rey goes to whip Evan at him full speed they ive each other the nod and Rey goes for the whip, Kidman sets off however Evan counters and whips Rey! Kidman clotheslines Misterio! The ref is down as well! Evan with a running Enziguri... connects as Kidman is off guard after clubbering his partner! Evan calls for the 460 or whatever the hell he does off the top rope, and goes to climb

THE FINISH: Air Raid, who have added absolutely nothing to this match with their almost silent color commentary leave the announce position. AJ Styles jumps up on the apron and pushes Karagias off the top rope and into the ring. Air Paris slams Shannon Moore into the steps on the outside! (Moore was out their for an awful long time after being simply thrown over the top rope.) Styles climbs into the ring and nails a weird move that started out like a piledriver but turned into a face buster with his feet hooking Evan's arms. Air Raid then leaves, and Rey Misterio comes back in after having been knocked senseless with that clothesline~OF DOOM. Misterio drops the dime with the Guillotine Leg drop on Kargaias and gets the pinfall!

WINNERS: @ 8:21 and NEW Cruiserweight Tag Team Champions, the Filthy Animals!

NOTES: What do you know we have new CW Tag champs. As much as I hate seeing quick title changes, I have to agree with this one. We haven't even seen Air Raid in the ring yet, throwing them into a Tag Title feud with Three Count just wouldn't have been right. Now the feud can happen without the titles involved, and it adds a new dimension to the thing between Misterio and Kidman now that they are CW Tag Champs once again.

    RATING: **3\4 rating (66, 53, 79)

Made it back just in time as a pre packaged video clip began to air, cool breeze, a beautiful blue sky, and babes at the beach are shown. Hey I don't know what I'm seeing but I like it, ah that's why. WCW World Tag Team Champions Sean O'Haire and Chuck Palumbo are shown lazing about on beach chairs. They have Hawaiin styles shirts on and sun glasses, their tag titles are also with them here's what they had to say:

SEAN O'HAIRE: "WCW.... long time no see. Not since Slamboree have the World Tag Team Champions been seen on television and for good reason, isn't that right Chuck?"

CHUCK PALUMBO: "That's damn right Sean. See we've defeated all of the competition that WCW has to offer, Team Canada, the Mamalukes, and even the almighty KRONIK, we've beaten them all so we decided that since we worked so hard we deserved a little break."

SEAN O'HAIRE: "Damn right Chuck, and there's nothing more rewarding than chilling out at the beach and being surrounded by beautiful women. But WCW don't fret, the Tag Team Champions will return to Television soon enough, and with our return we want some fresh competition!"

CHUCK PALUMBO: "Next week marks the return of Palumbo and O'Haire and with it we want a NEW Tag Team to face. We're not talking about the Mamalukes, Kronik or any of those feather weight pairings, oh no. A totally new tag team. Take this as an open challenge, mark this as your big break, but know that this is your only warning. One week, one new team."

Not too bad if I do say so myself boys, that gets the question of where in the hell have these two been off my mind. Plus now I'm left to wonder who WCW has in store for these two? This clip ends and WCW goes to the final commercial break of the first action packed hour of Unleashed. (62)

Little did I know that before I returned to the Palumbo and O'Haire segement I missed one with Booker T and Shane McMahon!!! Damn it! My friend called me asking what I thought of it, and at first I thought he was joking, but he wasn't. Damn bathroom breaks! Anyway hat segement saw Booker T go into Shane McMahon's office, and after some negotiating Shane allowed Booker T to use his rematch clause here tonight! That's right folks we'll see it here in tonight's Main Event, Booker T one on one with Val Venis for the World Heavyweight title!

After the same damn Snickers commercial ends after being played three time in a row the show returns and the ring is decked out with pink carpet. In the center is a blue love seat, and two stools next to it. A mini television screen hangs in the backdrop and large stage props proclaiming "the Shawn & Stacy Show" are in the ring. Shawn Stasiak is standing in the set (in blue jeans and his new t-shirt I might add) with a microphone in hand, next to him is the lovely looking (smoking hot) Stacy Keibler.

SHAWN STASIAK: "Shut up! Listen a........ I mean welcome everyone to the Shawn"....

    STACY KEIBLER: "And Stacy"

    SHAWN STASIAK: "Show."

Stasiak has a smile on his face after that cheesy exchange, and I have to laugh at how poorly they did that crap.

SHAWN STASIAK: "Ladies and gentlemen you are tuning into the most influential, the most informative, and yes entertaining talk show in professional wrestling history, the Shawn and Stacy show."

STACY KEIBLER: "That's right, and not only is this the most informative, in depth and entertaining show in history it's also the....SEXIEST!"

Stacy and Shawn look each other up and down with smiles on their faces, man if Stacy wasn't so hot I'd want to gag right now, but I'm still interested in who in the hell will be their guest tonight.

SHAWN STASIAK: "That's right Stacy, but let's not leave our viewers waiting, they want to know who our first guest will be, how about a little clue."

STACY KEIBLER: "Alright, he's from Atlanta Georgia...... and is a former World Tag Team Champion."

SHAWN STASIAK: "In fact Stacy he is the CURRENT United States Champion"......

    SHAWN & STACY: "BUFF BAGWELL!"

Oh my, this could get interesting, as Bagwell is the man Stasiak won a shot at here last week on Unleashed. Bagwell comes out to his entrance music, and does the usual routine, the fans have actually been cheering for Bagwell at houseshows and live events lately leaviing me to believe that WCW will listen up and turn him face. makes sense as Stasiak is playing heel and they're about to feud.

SHAWN STASIAK: "Buff, welcome to the show, please have a seat."

Stasiak points to the stools as he and Stacy sit in the love seat, Stacy has her hand on Shawn's leg, awe...

    STACY: "Welcome to the show."

BAGWELL: (sounding a little confused) "ugh... alright."

SHAWN STASIAK: "Well Buff to get things going, allow me to congratulate you on your United States Title victory at Slamboree, I mean you did a great job in the Six Pack Match."

Bagwell is still looking confused, is Stasiak genuine or just pulling his chain? Ah, Stasiak is a heel remember, and heel's are always pricks.

SHAWN STASIAK: "A great job of cheating me out of that title that is."

Now Bagwell sees right through Stasiak's plan, and he stands up before ripping his silver shades off from his face. Stasiak holds up his hand motioning for him to sit back down.

SHAWN STASIAK: "Maybe you need a refresher Buff, please roll the footage."

On the little screen inside of the ring footage is shown of Slamboree where Bagwell blind tagged himself into the match without Stasiak knowing it, and went on to win the title.

BUFF BAGWELL: "Alrighty, let me get this straight. You're saying to me, and all these people here tonight in KAAAAAAAAANSAAAAASSSSS CIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTY (points around and recieves the cheap pop) that Buff Daddy doesn't deserve this here strap because I tagged myself into the match? Well Shawn, how about a little reality check for ya, it was perfectly legal..... and in case ya didn't know, this here US Title is on my shoulder, not yours!"

Ooh it's getting heated now, Stasiak gets up from his seat and into the face of Bagwell. Stacy stands up as well beside her man.

SHAWN STASIAK: "Well Buff, hold that title real close, because when I do claim my shot at it everyone will know who the TRUE United States Champion is, and it's not some hick from Atlanta Georgia, it's the Mecca of Manliness himself, Shawn Stasiak!"

Bagwell is pissed, you can pick on a man all you want, but diss his hometown and you've crossed the line.

BUFF BAGWELL: "Alright Sta-si-ak, if you deserve this title so much, how 'bout 'tch prove it right here......right......NOW."

Ooh the crowd likes the sound of that, but Stasiak being the damned coward he is looks like he's going to talk his way out of things.

SHAWN STASIAK: "You know Buff, I would but I'm not ready for action tonight... as a matter of fact"......

BAM! Stasiak throws the punch, but Buff was waiting for it. Bagwell comes back with huge rights and lefts, and the fans love it! Bagwell pushes Stasiak against the ropes and comes running, Stasiak pulls Stacy in the way, and Bagwell nearly runs into her! He put on the breaks though. Stasiak has picked up the United States Title in the ring, and when Bagwell turns around he gets BLASTED! Stasiak picks Bagwell up and nails the Rude Awakening! The number one contender to the US Title, and his lovely (evil) manager (girlfriend) pose in the center of the ring, Stasiak holds the United States Title over Buff Bagwell! (67)

I must say, Stasiak is really improving on the microphone, and for the first time in his career he has direction. Plus he has Stacy, and his feud with Bagwell now has me interested. As much as I hate to say it, I liked the Shawn and Stacy show.

Oh, just as I thought we were going to commercial break we get a surprise, or I should say Shane McMahon gets one. The door of his office budges open and the World Heavyweight champion barges in! It's Val Venis and he isn't happy about the news that tonight he must defend the World Title against Booker T!

VAL VENIS: "What in the hell is going on here Shane, a TITLE MATCH TONIGHT!? You know damn well you're crossing legal lines, where in my contract does it say that I must defend a WORLD title on FREE TELEVISION, much less in a scum pit like KANSAS CITY? (Crowd jeers)"

SHANE MCMAHON: "Actually Val, it's legal lines that led us to this match here tonight, that being Booker T's legal right to a rematch within thrity days after a loss of the World Heavyweight title. Now Val, after that stunt you and Team Canada pulled on me at Slamboree you're even lucky I allow you to compete in WCW anymore. Oh and Val, just because you made this little "trip to my office" and refreshed my memory, tonight if anyone in Team Canada gets involved you WILL Forfeit the Title to Booker T!"

Val Venis looks like he's going to shit a brick then storms out of the office, wow! If anyone in Team Canada tries to help Val tonight he forfeits the title! I MUST see the Main event! But wait, RVD is up next, RVD Vs Kanyon NEXT!

When the show returns from commercial I am shocked as well as the fans in attendance to when the cameras are in the backstage area, someone is unconscious, and men are surrounding him. The camera inches closer, and it's ROB VAN DAM! Mike Awesome is checking on him as are the EMT's and Road Agents. Awesome storms off in a bloody rage looking for the attacker(s) as Scott Hudson points out. (74)

Damn, I'm feeling a little shafted after that one. RVD and Kanyon could have put on a good match here tonight, but I guess it was a good way of furthering storylines, if indeed it was Team Canada, or Val Venis that did it. Plus this is free television and we've already saw some PPV quality stuff here tonight. Back in the arena it's the Kid Rock "Cowboy" sound filling up the arena, marking the entrance of Jeff Jarrett.

It's funny every time Jeff Jarrett loses a hair Vs Hair match he really doesn't get much taken off. Sure he's pretty much bald but in actuallity his hair is a bit shorter now than the flat top he wore in the WWF. Of course this is a couple weeks after he lost the match to Page, and Jarrett appears to be growing his hair back out. I don't blame him one bit. Ummm... yeah back to the show. Jarrett is in the ring with his good ol' accoustic equalizer, and a microphone. Here's what he had to say:

JEFF JARRETT: "Listen Up slapnuts, the Chosen One is out here and I've got somethin' to say! Last week here on this very show I cost that ol' bag of bones Dallas Page his little Four Way Match, and he's at home this week nursin' his wounds. Page it's a shame, a cryin' damn shame that I didn't put you away at Slamboree, but I'll tell you what ol' man you're day is comin' and it's a comin' soon enough."

As Jarrett paces the ring the crowd begins a "You got shaved" chant that sets Double J off.

JEFF JARRETT: "But the Chosen One isn't out here tonight to talk about Dallas Page's old increpit ass, oh no. You see tonight Jarrett Enterprises sees a reunion, the return of an old partnership so to speak. Tonight the man with all the stroke around here debuts his new business partner, and from here on out we take WCW into our own hands. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages, I introduce to you, making he return to the company........ The QUEEN of Dubbya See Dubbya...... DEBRA!"

GULP! Did he just say Debra!? Yes he did, and the georgous real life wife of Steve Austin makes her way out from the back. The men in the audience are certainly pleased to see here, and the 'chosen one' is applauding her entrance. Man Debra is hot, and I heard that the WWF released her a couple weeks ago, but I never expected this. Debra gets into the ring to some cat calls, and Jarrett shows off his new/ old partner as Unleashed goes to its final commercial break. (63)

Main Event: WCW World Heavyweight title Match

    Booker T vs Val Venis©

The show comes back from commercial and Val Venis is handing the referee the title for what could be the last time if Booker T has his way. Bell rings and Booker immeadiatly goes on the offensive with brutal shots and chops. They tie up and the former Champion knees Venis in the gue before whipping him into the ropes and following it up with a back elbow. the cover, and Booker only gets a two count. Venis rolls to the outside, the Champion looking for a breather but the challenger will have nothing of it. Booker t follows in persuit, but Venis playing the classic heel is hiding something. When Booker spins him around, Val throws white powder into his eyes! The challenger is blinded, and Val Venis makes the most of it whipping him hard into the ring steps. Venis rolls in and then out to break up the count. The Champion does some more damage to the blinded challenger on the outside before rolling him back into the ring. Once inside Venis stalks Booker T like a predator stalks it's prey. (cheesy line I know) Once Booker is up he gets hooked up for Venis' Cobra Clutch Slam, and it's hit! Venis gets up and does his grind then points to the sky. The fans boo knowing what's coming next, and Venis climbs to the top. He does some more grinding, and probably takes too long... leaps off for the money shot and.... MISSES! Booker T Rolled out of the way in the knick of time, and Spinaroonies back to a standing position! Venis is up holding his ribs, and a blinded Booker whips him into the corner, but Venis counters and whips Booker. The Champion charges like a madman into the coner, Booker counters with the Briscoe roll up! 1, 2,.......2.99999999999999! Venis kicks out! Man the crowd was ecstatic and really into it, now Venis is being hated on the most of anyone tonight. Venistries hooking Booker for the Cobra clutch but he counters, and hooks the Book End, no Booker counters and nails a kick to the gut! He calls for the Ghetto Blaster and this could be it!!

THE FINISH: Booker has Venis bent over, and he bounces off the ropes, GHETTO BLASTER!!!!! NO!! Venis dropped down and rolled out of the ring before the move connected. The Champion makes a pass with his arm as to say that he has had enough, and begins to walk up the entrance ramp! The referee makes the count, and when he's at eight Venis disappears behind the curtain, at ten the bell rings and the former Champion gets the win, but not the title tonight! Booker T grabs the World Title and poses saying that some day soon he will have it.

WINNER: @ 8:21 as result of a countout, Booker T!

NOTES: Just when you think they have the odds stacked against him the bastard comes back and finds a way to keep the belt. Due to earlier events they didn't have much time but did a damn good job with the time that they had.

    DEBRA MCMICHAEL SIGNS WITH WCW

Inside sources within World Championship Wrestling are reporting that after a  few meetings with Shane McMahon and company, Debra McMichael has been  offered a spot within the company. Debra had been feeling as though she  wasn't involved enough in her current role with the WWF, and so wanted out.  The current thought is that she will be repartnered with Jeff Jarrett, as the  two were a red hot pair in the WWF a few years ago, more on this as it  comes.

    WCW UNLEASHED PREVIEW!

WCW.com had the following posted on their webpage earlier today:

Last week Mike Awesome made his impactful return after being cheated out of  his match at Slamboree with Lance Storm. The big man laid out the World  Heavyweight Champion Val Venis, and Team Canada with a steel chair, this  week expect Awesome to be looking to do damage as he goes one on one  with the man that aided in his Ambulance Match loss, 'Prime Time' Elix Skipper.

The Air Raid, Air Paris and AJ Styles made their surprise return to World  Championship Wrestling last week costing the World Cruiserweight Tag Team  Champions Evan Karagias and shannon Moore a non title match against the  Jung Dragons. This week they will be doing commentary for the much  anticipated title rematch between the Filthy Animals, Kidman and Misterio and  the Champions themselves Moore and Karagias.

Kidman and Mistero don't seem to be on the same page lately, can they pull it  together and become two time Cruiserweight Tag Champions? What role will  Styles and Paris have in this one?

the "Mecca of Manliness" Shawn Stasiak had a career night last Saturday as  he was able to survive a Fatal Four Way encounter picking up an upset  victory over Diamond Dallas Page, and defeating Billy Kidman in singles  competition to earn himself a shot at Buff Bagwell's United States Title. This  week Shawn Stasiak and the lovely Stacy have a "special Treat" in store for  everyone as the first episode of "the Shawn & Stacy Show" hits the air.

Plus the World Heavyweight Champion Val Venis will be in the house, and Rob  Van Dam will be in action as well as he goes one on one with the Innovator of Offense, Chris Kanyon. This week Unleashed will most definatly be a must see event!

    WCW UNLEASHED! RESULTS 5/12/01

Marine Midland Arena, Buffalo, New York

    results by Wrestleboy8601

This weeks UNleashed comes to us live at the Marine Midland Arena, Buffalo New York

Before the opening video, we get a recap of the shocking ending to Sunday's Slamboree Pay Per View Event, where Val Venis shocked the world alligning with Team Canada to defeat Booker T for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. I have to admit I was dreading that WCW would actually go through with putting the title on Venis, but after their match on Sunday Venis made me a believer. The opening video finally plays, then Scott Hudson and Arn Anderson do their usual welcoming routine, same ol' same ol'

The show gets off to an impactful start as the new WCW Champion comes out to new entrance music and an accompanying video to boot. Venis isn't dressed for action right now, he's clad in slacks and a purple dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up, and the WCW Title over his shoulder. MAJOR HEAT for Venis on his way to the ring. Val tries to talk but is cut off each time by "Venis Sucks" chants. He finally starts talking, and does the whole "I came, I saw, I conquered routine," yep all hail ladies and gentlemen, it's Julius Caesar in the flesh standing before us." Val talks about how Booker T "wasn't in the same league as the Big Valbowski." Venis finishes up his berating by introducing his "new colleagues," Team Canada, Lance Storm, Elix Skipper and their valet Major Gunns. (85)

The threesome come out to yet more HUGE heat. When in the ring Storm takes the mic after shaking Val's hand. He does a run down about Canadians being the superior athletes, and that Canadians stick together. This being the reason Venis and Team Canada are now alligned. (whatever happened to Val being from Las Vegas Nevada?) Storm berates Mike Awesome for a while, then moves onto Rob Van Dam bringing up some dirt from their ECW days. OOh I smell a tag match coming on anytime now. Storm finishes off his promo with his usual "Don't Blame Canada, Blame Yourself!" line. (75)

That's when "The Money" plays over the speakers, man oh man here comes the tag match, here it comes. Shane's head is bandaged from the attack by Team Canada during the Main Event, the WCW owner is livid and bitter, and announces that Val had better get into his ring gear because tonight he and Storm will face Booker T and new WCW Superstar, Rob Van Dam! I knew it! (75)

Venis looks displeased having to actually COMPETE here tonight, but Storm reassures him that he has nothing to worry about as the show goes to a commercial break.

Unleashed comes back from commercial break and we are treated to a video package hyping the WCW Tag Team Champions, Sean O'Haire and Chuck Palumbo. WCW looks to be hyping these two up as THEE team in the company, so far they have been nothing but impressive. (Excluding their horrid confrontation with Kronik at Slamboree) (70)

Billy Kidman is backstage talking to partner Rey Misterio after the video package ends, something doesn't quite seem right between the two FORMER Cruiserweight Tag Champions.

BILLY KIDMAN: "Rey, it really bugs me that we lost the Titles last Sunday, but tonight we both have a chance to do something even bigger, if one of us wins the Four Way, I mean we're that much closer to a shot at the US Title."

REY MISTERIO: "Yeah, it's just too bad you're not gonna be the one advancin' bro, it's gonna be me."

BILLY KIDMAN: "Huh, ha, I guess we'll see about that."

They shake hands, all is well for the Filthy Animals, or so it appears, something tells me one of these two aren't going to be so happy with the other before the night is over. (50)

Back in the Arena, "Do it now, do it, do it, do it now," is heard, man could Shawn Stasiak have any cheesier of an entrance theme? the good news is that Stasiak is accompanied by the beautiful Stacy and man she looks good tonight. Shawn grabs a microphone and he looks like he's going to speak.

SHAWN STASIAK: "Shut up! Look! and LISTEN! Last week at Slamboree, Buff Bagwell stole my United States Championship, and this week the Mecca of Manliness will stop at nothing until I am the number one contender for that title, so Morrus, Crowbar and Page march your asses to the ring, but I assure you this won't take long... Stacy doesn't like to wait."

    FATAL FOUR WAY MATCH

"Mecca" Shawn Stasiak vs Crowbar vs Hugh Morrus Vs Diamond Dallas Page

WCW is giving Stasiak mic time, oh boy. Page fresh off of his head shaving of Jeff Jarrett looks to be the crowd favorite in this one, and the former three time, three time, THREE TIME World Heavyweight Champion gets things started off with the Mecca. Stasiak seems a little overmatched with the veteran but holds his own. After doing some punishment Page tags out to Hugh Morrus, for some reason these Four Way matches tonight will be fought under four corners rules, with two men in the ring at a time. Morrus uses his power to toss around Stasiak like a rag doll, forcing Shawn to tag out to Crowbar. Morrus and Crowbar give the fans some exciting exchanges, the action eventually spills out to the outside, with all hell breaking loose.

THE FINISH: BALD ALERT! BALD ALERT! DDP finds himself alone in the ring, Jeff Jarrett, freshly shaved, and may I add, quite bizare looking comes running down the ramp, Jarrett busts his six string over the head of an unsuspecting Page, Stasiak finds his way back into the ring, drops the knee and covers for the three count.

    WINNER: Shawn Stasiak @ 7:23

NOTES: The match started off good, but really didn't have much time to gel and seemed rushed. WCW looks to be going full force with the Page/ Jarrett feud, and Stasiak looks to be one of the next breakout stars for the company, I hope there are better matches than this if he is going to the top. A win over Page either way is big for anyone's career.

    RATING: *1/4 (61)

    FATAL FOUR WAY MATCH

Rey Misterio vs Chris Kanyon vs Billy Kidman vs Ernest "the Cat" Miller

Just last Sunday Kidman and Misterio were defending their World Cruiserweight Tag Team Titles, this week they both look to gain a shot at Buff Bagwell's United States Championship. Kanyon gets under the crowds skin asking "Who Betta?" Miller thinks he is and the Cat lands one of his martial arts kicks that sends him rocking into the ropes, they go all out and the Innovator of Offense grounds the former WCW commisioner with a modified piledriver. Tag to Kidman, he propels Miller off of the ropes and takes him down with a dropkick. Battle back and fourth, after a tilt a whirl back breaker the Cat is grounded and in position for the shooting star press. Rey reaches in and tags himself into the match, Kidman comes off the top rope and lands the Shooting Star Press on Miller, Misterio quickly comes in and rolls Kidman up, but only gets a two. Kidman looks shocked that his partner and friend would try such a thing, Rey reminds him he's in it for himself. DUH? The action gets really hot with the Cruiserweights in the ring and the crowd is getting behind both men.

THE FINISH: Kanyon spouts off at the Cat who doesn't take kindly to the words and knocks him off of the apron, Rey jr. leaps off of the top rope for a flying Hurricanranna, Kidman catches him and attempts a BK Bomb, but Rey rolls up and over for a Sunset Flip, it gets blocked by Kidman and Rey's shoulders are down earning Kidman the three count! Good match!

    WINNER: @ 10:22 Billy Kidman!

NOTES: The match really picked up when Rey jr. and Kidman went at it. This match was worth the watch, but nothing too amazing.

    RATING:**1/2(67)

After some commercials from Marvel Comics, and Playstation the show is back, and my heart skips a beat as the SMOKING HOT Leia Meow is shown backstage with the Jung Dragons. Leia, with whip in hand tells the two that if they do not win tonight, they won't like the consequences, Yang mutters something and the Dominatrix like beauty twists his ear, and he winces in pain. Back in the arena Hudson and Anderson hyper tonight's main event. (51)

    NON TITLE MATCH

Shannon Moore & Evan Karagias Vs Kaz Hyashi & Yang w/ Leia Meow

The new Cruiserweight Tag Team Champions come to the ring with belts around their waists, the Dragons, Yang and Hyashi don't wait for Moore and Karagias to take their titles off immeadiatly come in with fists a flying. The brawl tones down eventually as Moore and Yang take their corners. Solid action in the ring between Moore and Karagias, kudos to the old WCW writing team that though up the Cruiserweight Tag Team Division. I try to keep an eye on the action in the ring but it becomes increasingly difficult with Leia on the outside shouting commands that I couldn't risk not doing for her with that leather whip in her hand. Tag to Moore, and Yang. More high flying action keeps the fans on the edge of their seats.

THE FINISH: All four men are in the ring battling it out, Karagias and Hyashi go over the top rope and to the outside with a clothesline. Moore is up top and looks to have the match finished off, but someone jumps on the apron and pushes him off the turnbuckle. If my memory serves me right, that's Air Paris, and AJ Styles is at ringside laughing at the site of Moore's body hitting the canvas. Yang climbs to the top and hits the Yang Time making the cover and gaining the victory. The Air Raid have made their return to WCW Television, and what an impact they've made!

WINNERS: @ 7:34 Kaz Hyashi & Yang, the Jung Dragons!

NOTES: It was rumored all week on the internet that WCW would be debuting a new tag team tonight, it looks as if it was more of a redebut. AJ Styles had been recieving Rave reviews in Level One Wrestling while Air Paris' attitude hadn't been winning him fans. By the looks of things WCW has plans for the both of them.

    RATING: *** rating. (75)

    US TITLE CONTENDERSHIP MATCH

"Mecca" Shawn Stasiak w/ Stacy Keibler vs Billy Kidman

Here it is, the match to decide the number one contender for the WCW United States Title. I didn't really like the way they did this mini tournament, I would have rather saw a traditional tournament with Kidman and Misterio meeting in the semis. My heart hopes that Kidman will take this one, but more Stasiak means more Stacy so it's an even trade off. Stasiak thinks it is a joke that Kidman is up against him, and uses his size advantage in the early going, Kidman however utilizes his speed advantage to take the "Mecca" down with a flying head scissors. Kidman leads the match with an offensive flurry that gets stopped by a Stasiak Powerslam out of virtually no where. Stasiak makes the cover but Kidman wants his shot at the title too much. Stacy trips Kidman, allowing for Stasiak to get the surprise roll up but still no three count. Rey Misterio comes down to ringside to even the odds.

THE FINISH: Stasiak lands a hard back elbow to Kidman's face, and Misterio has seen enough. He gets on the aprn motioning for Stasiak's attention and when he turns around, Misterio springboards off of the rope for a missile dropkick, Stasiak rolls out of the way however, and Kidman who was getting to his feet gets nailed with the move instead! Stasiak grabs Rey and tosses him over the ropes, then lifts Kidman up and nails his Rick Rude like Reverse Neck Breaker making the cover and earning himself a United States Title shot! Stacy is happy jumping up and down as Stasiak has his hand raised and for that I am happy. Kidman looks digusted as Mysterio tugs at the Devil Horns glued on his head.

    WINNER: @ 12:11 Shawn Stasiak!

NOTES: This match was much better than both of the Four Way Matches, WCW is picking up steam direction wise and could afford a smaller show to develop lesser storylines. Stasiak looked good in this match, I wonder is a Kidman/ Misterio feud is in the works?

    RATING: **1/2 rating. (66)

I had to run to the bathroom and grab another soda as the Main event was the one match I didn't want to miss. Van Dam is making his in ring debut, and will be wrestling on the national scene for the first time since ECW folded.

    MAIN EVENT TAG MATCH

Booker T and Rob Van Dam vs Val Venis and Lance Storm w/ Major Gunns

I popped the top of the can just in time for RVD and Booker T to make their entrance. Booker looks hell bent on getting at Val Venis, as would anyone who had just been shafted out of the World Heavyweight title. "RVD!RVD!RVD!" Van Dam has alot of fanfare as he and Storm lock up to start things off. Van Dam headbutts RVD, and applies an arm wringer. He trades submission holds that he learned in Stu Hart's Dungeon to work over RVD but the crowd gets behind Van Dam and he is able to battle out of it. Storm goes for the Maple leaf but RVD regains his balance, hops up to one foot and smashes the Canadian villian with a reverse enziguri. Rolling Thunder connects but Val Venis breaks up the count and is reprimanded by the referee. RVD tags in Booker and the former World Champion begins to stomp some mud holes in the former US Champion. after a few exchanges Booker has Storm set up for his Ghetto Blaster Scissors Kick, but Storm drops to the mat and tags in Venis. Booker is ready however when Venis charges into the ring, and slams him down to the canvas with a spine buster. He lifts him up, Venis clotheslines Booker and he goes over the top rope. they battle on the outside, and Venis sends Booker into the Steel steps. Val shouts at the crowd who boo the Heavyweight Champ, then he goes to ram Booker's head off the ring post, it's blocked and He gets his head smashed!

THE FINISH: Booker fights out of the Cobra Clutch from Venis, and nails Venis with a kick to the Gut, he goes to bounce off the ropes, but out of no where, Elix Skipper smacks Booker in the back of the head with the Canadian Flag! The referee calls for the Bell as all hell begins to break loose. The heels are in the ring, and after some initial resistance the numbers game enables them to overcome RVD and Booker. Val rolls to the outside of the ring and grabs the WCW Title and rolls into the ring. It looks as if he's going to smash the title over Booker's head when the lights go out, and chills run down my spine with the sound of "THAAAAAAAT's AWWWWWWESSSSSSSSSOME!" is heard, the lights come back on, and the big man is in the ring with a steel chair! Each Canadian gets a good shot to the skull with the chair, as Awesome clears house! He throws the Chair down and lifts Booker T and RVD to their feet. Val Venis & Team Canada regroup on the outside as the show leaves the air.

    WINNERS: Match thrown out

NOTES: I'm loving this buildup we have going here, very new and nicely built. I'm smelling a six man tag, is anyone else?

the Hottest Rumors on the net!

    KRONIK IN WCW DOG HOUSE

Some higher ups in the new WCW were certainly not pleased with the performance Brian Adams and Bryan Clarke put on against chuck Palumbo and Sean O'Haire at Slamboree. The two have been labeled as stiff workers in the past, but it was especially apparent last Sunday when Adams and Clarke no-sold a majority of Palumbo and Ohaire's moves. The original thought was for a prolonged feud between the two teams, but now it looks as if Big Vito and Johnny the Bull could get the nod instead.

THREE COUNT WIN TITLES AND RESPECT

From one extreme to the other, WCW officials are high on the recent in ring work of Evan Karagias and Shannon Moore. The two have been winning over alot of fans, and their Cruiserweight Tag Title victory over the Filthy Animals pit them as THEE top team in the floundering division. Look for a brand new team to challenge the new Champions in the upcoming weeks.

VENIS'S TITLE WIN BRINGS HIM BACK TO HIS CANADIAN ROOTS

The conclusion to the Main event of Slamboree was a shocker to many WCW fans, as Val Venis with the help of Team Canada (Lance Storm, Elix Skipper, and Major Gunns) was able to top Booker T for the WCW World Heavyweight Title. With WCW's next major Pay Per View, the Great American Bash ironically scheduled for Toronto you should expect to see Morley integrating his Canadian heritage into his Val Venis character. Most likely something to the likes of, he was born in Canada but had to move to Las Vegas in order to find "Work" in the Adult Film industry.

    Slamboree Fallout, UNleashed preview

Slamboree has come and gone, and in its wake it is time once again for another edition of WCW UNleashed. This week the number one contender to Buff Bagwell's newly won United States Title will be crowned in a mini tournament of sorts. Two Four Way Matches will be held, and the winning man in each match will meet one on one later in the night, the winner claiming the right for a shot at the United States Title.

The new World Heavyweight Champion, Val Venis is expected to be in the house, as well as Team Canada's Elix Skipper & Lance Storm, Booker T and Rob Van Dam. Expect the exciting action that only WCW can deliver, and all of the fallout from Slamboree this week on WCW UNleashed.

  6. Ambulance Match

    Referee: Jack Doan

    Mike Awesome vs Lance Storm

"THAAAAAAAATTTS AWWWWWWWESSSSSSSSOME!" a hard rock rift blares over the speakers signifying the entrance of Mike Awesome. The big man comes out to the top of the ramp looking to be in a not so good mood here tonight. He climbs into the ring looking focused, and doesn't gesture to the fans at all. "Storm warning" plays over the speakers, and Lance Storm, and Major Gunns waiving the Canadian Flag) walks out to the top of the ramp, he raises both hands over his head and gets some heavy heel heat, then slowly walks into the ring. He rolls in and takes his corner.

The bell rings, and Awesome comes at Storm with fists of fire. In the corner he pummels Storm with heavy blows to the midsection. Then he lifts Storm up, and slams him down with the Military Press Slam! Mike rolls to the outside and tells the ring announcer to move, then folds up the steel Chair and brings it into the ring. Awesome goes to chir shot Storm, but then he moves and drop kicks the chair into his face. Second rope flying Elbow drop, forces the air out of Awesome's lungs.

The big man is too big for Storm to lift to his feet, instead he stalks Awesome and hits a face onto the chair. Awesome steam rolls his former team mate with a clothesline, and he falls over the top rope. They brawl to the outside and into the crowd. Awesome takes some punishment on the outside. This match stays out of the ring for the next ten minutes, and it appears that Awesome has the match won when he lifts Storm up for the Awesome Bomb, next to the Ambulance, however the doors open and Elix Skipper jumps out! He smashes a chair into Awesome's Abdomen allowing Storm to hit his superkick. Then Storm and Skipper load Awesome into the back of the ambulance for the shoddy victory(76)

    Winner: @ 11:45 Lance Storm!

Storm, Skipper and Major Gunns celbrate at the top of the ramp waiving the Canadian Flag, and the crowd jeers the hell out of them, having just stolen a victory over Mike Awesome.

WCW Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship Match

    Referee: Mickey Jay

Shannon Moore & Evan Karagias vs Rey Misterio jr & Billy Kidman©

Things got underway quickly for this one, and Three Count delivered a pair of simultaneous Asai moonsaults to the outside, sending the reigning Champions to the floor. Inside of the ring, Kidman blocked a superplex attempt, slamming the cocky Evan hard to the mat. Shannon came off the top with a leg drop onto Billy, changing the direction of the contest. Moore and Karagias continued with the quick tags and swift double team maneuvers to keep Kidman off guard and away from his partner. Evan turned a press slam into a big spinebuster, but only got a two-count on the cover. Kidman threw a hard kick to Evan's head, as both men moved slowly to their corners. Kidman was the only one to make the tag, but Karagias came in anyway, taking a beating in the corner from the fired up Rey Misterio. All four men delivered with high impact force, trying to gain the win for their respective team. After a series of innovative moves, Misterio grabs Evan Karagias from behind and shoves him into the ropes, then scores with a roll-up...but Karagias rolls through with the move! He uses the bottom rope to secure his position, and Mickey Jay makes the count, 1, 2, 3! We have new Champions!!! (66)

Winners: @ 6:22 and NEW Cruiserweight Tag Team Champions, Evan Karagias & Shannon Moore!

The referee was out of position and didn't see it! Three Count are ecstatic, and embrace in the center of the ring, they can't even believe that they pulled this one off. Kidman and Misterio look dissapointed and remain in the ring, and a bit shocked.

"Booo" is all we hear from the crowd when the camera switches scene and "Mean" Gene Okerlund is shown standing next to "the Chosen One" Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett has one his "Listen Up Slapnuts!" t-shirt on, and his silver guiter rests on his shoulder, and is being gripped by his right hand. Jeff looks into the camera through yellow lensed Nike Sunglasses.

Mean Gene: "Jeff Jarrett, we are just moments away, just moments away from one of the biggest matches in your storied career. In fact this could be thee biggest match of your career if you should succeed in defeating Diamond Dallas Page here tonight and forcing him into retirement, but this could also be the most humiliating, because if Page beats you, he gets to shave you bald!"

Jeff Jarrett: "Alright Listen up, Mean Gene, you can stop runnin' your mouth right now! There isn't going to be an if, it's when the Chosen One defeats Dallas here tonight. And Gene after I beat Page, I'm getting back what is rightfully mine, and that's the World Heavyweight Championship! Now Gene, I've got a career to end!"

With that Jarrett walks out of the interview position, and the show switches back to the inside of the arena.

    Hair versus Career Match

    Referee: Charles Robinson

Jeff Jarrett vs Diamond Dallas Page

"Self High Five,...... BANG!!!" The crowd is on its feet as Diamond Dallas Page comes out to the top of the ramp and flashes his infamous Diamond Cutter sign. Page jogs down the ramp, and slides into the ring before doing some posing in the corner, and awaiting the arrival of the man who would like nothing more than to end his career here tonight. "the Chosen One," Jarrett's music steam rolls over the speakers, and Double J comes walking out to the top of the ramp. Jarrett points his finger at Page in the ring and talks trash. He holds his "acoustic equalizer" in his right hand. Jeff gets up on the apron, and does his pose holding up the guitar while standing on the center rope, and sparks fly behind him.

Page doesn't wait for the bell to ring, and clubs Jarrett from behind with a vicious right hand shot. Jarrett drops the guitar, and Page continues to use his brawling tactics, backing Jeff Jarrett into the corner turnbuckle. Page reaches out, grabbing the collar of Jarrett's shirt, and rips it down the center before giving him a Ric Flair-esque shop to the chest! "DDP!" DDP!" chants ensue as Page clotheslines the former World Heavyweight Champion over to the top rope and to the outside.

The match quickly becomes a hardcore affair, as the two brawl it out on the outside of the ring. Jarrett lures Page in and smashes his forehead off of the steel barricade. He tosses Page over the banister and into the crowd. Jarrett follows and picks up a trash can, BAM! He smashes Page right on the back! Page falls to the floor and Jarrett continues to pummel his opponent. Finally Page gets back up, and blocks a shot with his arms, then tosses Jarrett back over the barricade. Page stands on the steel barrier, and delivers a flying clothesline to Jarrett. Now Page rolls him into the ring.

In the ring, DDP is ferocious in his attack. Page whips Jarrett into the ropes, but Double J counters with a solid dropkick to the chops, out of no where he lifts Page up and manages to hit the STROKE!!! Jarrett covers, but only gets a two! Page is still alive! Jeff Jarrett rolls to the outside of the ring, and grabs his guitar. Like a madman he waits for Page to get up, when he does Jarrett comes running and takes a wild swing, but DDP ducks and connects with the DIAMOND CUTTER!!! Out of nowhere Page connects with his finishing move, and makes the cover, 1, 2, 3! (74)

    Winner: @13:25 Diamond Dallas Page!"

The crowd is on it's feet, they know what comes next, and it is finally sinking in for Jeff Jarrett! He lost the match, now he gets his head shaved! The WCW official are coming down the ramp, one has clippers in hand, and Page is smiling. The officials hit the ring, and Jarrett tries to escape but they hold him from escaping. Page gets the clippers and turns them on.

Jeff Jarrett is begging Page not to touch the clippers to his head, but Page isn't listening and runs the clippers straight down the center of his head, leaving only stubbles of hair. Page does it three or four more times, then Jarrett breaks the hold of the referees, and runs out of the ring covering his head in shame. Jarrett rushes up the ramp and into the back. Page's music hits once again, and he celebrates in the ring with the entire crowd on their feet.

Shane McMahon's Sensational Six Pack Challenge

for the WCW United States Championship

    Referee: Jack Doan

Buff Bagwell, Chris Kanyon & Shawn Stasiak Vs the Cat, Hugh Morrus & Crowbar

Stasiak is the first to enter the ring for this contest, with the lovely Stacy Keibler by his side, the "Mecca of Manliness" is dressed in pink trunks and as Stacy departs from the center of the squared circle, he looks more than ready for tonight's contest. Chris Kanyon is next, and playing to the crowd with his "Who betta!?" shout, he is getting heavy heel heat. Stasiak and Kanyon stare each other down, they're on the same "team" tonight, but all that means is that they can only tag each other, the man who gains the pinfall becomes the new United States Champion. Partnerships are utterly useless.

"Buff Daddy" shouts over the speakers, and the former Magnificent Seven member strolls out onto the stage flexing his muscles in the heisman pose, then dropping to one knee and doing the same. Heavy heat for Bagwell here tonight, who is indeed one of the guys leading on the internet polls to pick up the win. Bagwell does some posing in the corner until his music is cut by the Cat's "One... two... ah one, two three... baaa...da!" Miller's music plays, and his three man team of himself, Crowbar and Hugh Morrus charge the ring together, the crowd likes what they see as the three men slide head on into a fist fight with the three men already in the ring. Crowbar gets the better of Kanyon, and with a clothesline, both men fly wildly over the top rope, and take a nasty landing, almost knocking Stacy Keibler over in the process. Miller dropped Stasiak with a side kick, and together he and Hugh Morrus whip Buff Bagwell into the ropes upon smashing him with a double back elbow to his kisser!

Morrus goes to his corner, and the referee has simingly restored order on the outside of the ring, both Crowbar and Kanyon head to their designated areas after a few heated words. the Referee slides back into the ring as Ernest the Cat makes the cover, but Bagwell is up at two.

Miller wrings the arm, and walks Buff over into enemy territory with a quick slap of the hand, Crowbar is the legal man and the wild haired competitor smashes some hard shots to the face of Bagwell before whipping him into the ropes. Buff scouts a back body drop, and delivers a kick to the chops! Crowbar feels it, and holds his jaw, Bagwell follows it up with a herendous short arm clothesline. It nearly decapitated Crowbar, but Bagwell could care less about his opponents health, and drops to his knees with his arms around the neck of his opponent. At the count of four, he breaks it and tags in Chris Kanyon.

Kanyon comes running into the ring, and drops a knee to the face of Crowbar, he hooks the leg but Crowbar kicks out at two! Kanyon wrings the arm, and lifts him to his feet. He shows the reason why he is called the Innovator of Offense as he keeps the arm twisted, and lifts Crowbar up into Fireman's position, then with a step back, he releases his opponent and Crowbar smashes the mat headfirst! Kanyon quickly makes the cover, but it is broken up by Hugh Morrus!

Kanyon begins to fend off his attacking opponent, and Buff Bawell comes to the quick aid. Miller is in the ring now too, and fists begin to fly. Stasiak stays on the apron chatting with Stacy, he's barely seen action in this one, perhaps it's his strategy to stay back and only compete when the time or opprotunity comes. The referee has the fight seperated, taking Morrus and the Cat back to their corners, Bagwell aids Kanyon in a double vertical Suplex upon his return to the corner..... Kanyon covers but Crowbar kicks out in the knick of time.

Kanyon is getting mad, he lifts the dark haired combatant up and tosses him into the corner, Kanyon comes running but Crowbar counters with a big boot to the face! It knocks Kanyon off balance, and he stumbles back......Crowbar scales to the second turnbuckle and leaps off.... SKY HIGH BULLDOG! Kanyon is down as is Crowbar, both men need to tag out. Crowbar is finding all the energy he can to crawl to his corner, and Kanyon is doing so as well. Morrus and Miller are stomping their feet and getting the fans behind them to cheer on. They do so, but Kanyon makes the tag first to Shawn Stasiak. Stasiak comes in like a freight train, but Crowbar tags in the Cat! Stasiak goes to put on the breaks, but the Karate Champion kicks him right in the face with a hard martial arts kick. the mecca of manliness is down, and Miller performs the Peoples Elbow, adding his own flavor with a dance number. He goes for the cover but Stasiak kicks out at two. Up to their feet, and they trade blows.... Stasiak mixes things up and front toe trips Miller, he hits the turnbuckle face first. Stasiak plants his foot on the back of his head, and after grabbing the top rope, applies all of his weight on Miller's neck! A four count ensues, and Stasiak breaks the hold.

He lifts Miller up to his feet, and whips him into the ropes, the Cat reverses, sending Stasiak into his own corner.... Bagwell slaps him on the back, making himself the legal man with the blind tag. Miller seems not to have noticed, and comes charging at Stasiak, Stasiak moves and he smashes into the corner face first. Stasiak taunts Morrus and Crowbar, and they hit the ring, Kanyon joins in the mehlee and it's an all out brawl. Stasiak is whipped over the top rope by Morrus, and he follows him out, Crowbar spears Kanyon into the mat, and they roll out of the ring. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to the Cat, Bagwell is actually the Legal man, and he stands perched on the second turnbuckle waiting for Miller to stand. He does, and Buff flies....... BOCKBUSTER! Bagwell hooks the leg, 1, 2, 3! (48)

Winner: @ 10:23 and NEW WCW UNited States Champion, Buff Bagwell!

Buff Bagwell is awarded the WCW United States Championship, and he couldn't be happier! The men on the outside of the ring now realize what has happened, and they show their displeasure, even Stasiak who must have thought he was the legal man too. Bagwell kisses the title as he heads through the entrance position, the new WCW US Champion.

Anyone that hasn't been watching, or paying close attention to Slamboree thus far had better get their eyes glued NOW! Shane Helms showed everyone the reason why he is being labeled as the Evolution of the Cruiserweight division with an awesome victory over chavo Guerrero, Three Count shocked the world with their Cruiserweight Tag Team Title victory over Rey Misterio and Billy Kidman, Buff Bagwell did exactly what he said he was going to do, and that's take home the United States Championship. Then of course there was Diamond Dallas Page's win over Jeff Jarrett that cost the Chosen one his golden hair do. But you know it's not over. No no no. This blockbuster first Pay Per View of Shane McMahon's WCW has barely begun to deliver the goods. What are we talking about? The next match is as big as it gets, Val Venis! Booker T! THE WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE! Hang on. ladies and gentlemen, this night is just getting warmed up!!!

Before the World Heavyweight Championship Main event can truly start, the theme music of the show begins to play, and the sell-out crowd begins to cheer compassionatly as the Owner and Chief Executive Officer of World Championship Wrestling, Shane McMahon, comes out of the curtains with a broad smile on his face. The man who WCW fans view as the Top Dog in Sports Entertainment makes his way down around the ring, attempting high-fives and so on, eventually taking his reserved seat by the announcing staff for tonight's star-studded show. McMahon wants to know the answer to the question that's on everyone's mind. Will Booker T defend his title successfully or will we see the crowning of a new World Heavyweight Champion here tonight? We're about to find out.

    WCW World Heavyweight Title Match

    Referee: Nick Patrick

    Val Venis Vs Booker T©

This has been the most anticipated contest WCW has put on in a long while. Shane McMahon's declaration for Superstar's to step up to the plate led to Val Venis' departure from the WWE, and arrival to WCW. It was a match that had to happen, at some point, and WCW fans are now gripping their tickets harder than if they'd just won the lottery! This is going to be awesome!! Venis is the first to start things off locking up with the WCW Champion and cameras capture the moment from 60 different angles. Venis twists Booker into a headlock, but the Champion shoves him off. The lock is on again, and this time Booker T moves the challenger into the headlock, but it's Val's turn to counter with a modified German suplex! the Champion rolls off from the move clutching his head. Booker is up once again, and the two rush together for a third lock, but Booker T slips the arms and comes around from behind Val, attempting a school-boy pinfall. "1........2.-ohhhh," Venis kicks Booker T into the side ropes, rolling up smoothly onto his feet.

Venis goes to the legs of Booker T, and monkeyflips him into the corner, where the Four Time World Champion stays rooted in a tree-of-woe position, upsidedown. Venis moves in to attack and administers some brutal kicks to the midsection. Finally, Booker extracts himself, rolling painfully under the bottom rope for a few seconds of respite. Venis won't have it, bouncing off the ropes and delivering a slide kick to Booker's chest, sending him crashing to the floor.

Venis rolls out of the ring and stalks towards the Champion, and then comes in for the kill ... but instead tastes steel rail!! In a surprisingly devious counter, Booker T drop toe-hold's Venis directly onto the barricade. Booker then rolls in the ring to break the count.

Now Booker T moves in for the kill, taking Venis's legs out with savage hamstring kicks. Booker then grabs Val by the back of the neck and pulls him to his feet. The challenger is bleeding at the mouth. Booker T hurls him back inside the ring, and the fans cheer for the Champion. Booker T pulls Venis to his feet, but the "Big Valbowski" snaps Booker's hand away and nails him with a haymaker! Booker staggers back, but doesn't fall, instead, he blocks the next haymaker and lands one of his own! The two trade blows then, back and forth, until they both make for the ropes and rocket back at each other, each going for the cross-body block! You can almost hear the air whooshing out of their lungs as they smack together and fall in a heap.

Now, for the first time, we see the fans come in. The referee begins the count, as both men draw on their will to win, pulling themselves up to their knees. Venis actually notices Booker's position first, though, and with brutal precision, executes a standing dropkick right to the kisser of the WCW Champion. Booker hits the mat hard, and Venis is there instantly with a headlock to wear him down. Shane McMahon leans forward in his seat, watching the strength drain from Booker T. It's not hard to tell that McMahon is on Booker's side. Venis cinches the lock on as the referee checks for choking. But the fans know Booker T isn't done. Slowly, a "Book-er-T" chant brings the Champion back to his feet, and to Venis's bewilderment, the Champ fights out of the hold, striking true with air-releasing elbows to the midsection, and then executes his textbook DDT to the Big Valbowski! What a momentum shifter! Then Booker T lands on Val and locks the chinlock on him. the challenger is trapped in the center of the ring, fighting for consciousness.

But it's not over for Venis, either. Struggling to his feet he shifts the momentum, Booker has his hold locked in, but Val starts to pry Booker's arm from his jaw, and then, whirling, catches the Champion for a German suplex ... BOOKER HITS HARD! Venis stays down on the mat as well taking a breather. Eventually he walks over to the Champ and picks him back up to his feet before whipping him into the ropes.....he ducks for a back body drop, Booker then leapfrogs him, and goes for a third rush ... right into a brutal back elbow!! The fans are in hoprror, this could be the end of the match, and Booker's Title reign as well as Venis scrambles atop the top turnbuckle, salutes his many legions of spiteful fans, and then to an array of camera's flashing, delivers what to many has been the deathknell blow: the Money Shot!!!!

This has to be it, and Val hooks the leg and goes for the pinfall. "1.......2.....NOO!!" Booker T fights out of the count at the last second, but is still hurting badly. Val can't understand where Booker T got that last strength from, but he's quick to retreat to the corner, waiting for his rival to get to his feet, crouched down in a football stance. As Booker T pulls himself up in the opposite corner, he turns slowly, groggily, and Val comes running! Too soon! Booker sees it coming far too early, and delivers the Harlem sidekick!! Venis is down and Booker T calls for the Ghetto Blaster!! (Scissors Kick). Booker waits for Val to get up, and he slowly does, Booker comes running, and NAILS THE SCISSORS KICK!!! Venis is down, this is it! 1, 2, ......... THE REFEREE IS PULLED OUT OF THE RING!!

Scott Hudson: "What in the hell, that's Lance Storm and Elix Skipper! Skipper just pulled the referee out of the ring! What in the hell is team Canada doing out here!"

Booker T is back up to his feet, Skipper has distracted him, giving Lance Storm the opprotunity to enter the ring, and like a battering ram, he smashes the Canadian Flag's post into Booker's head! the referee is out on the outside of the ring, and all hell is breaking loose! Shane McMahon is up from the outside, and he is in the ring questioning Lance Storm, Venis knocks McMahon down from behind!! Skipper rolls McMahon out of the ring, Storm goes out and rolls the referee back into the ring as Val Venis moves Booker T into position and climbs to the top rope.

Fans are littering the ring with empty soda cans and trash, Venis leaps off the turnbuckle and for the second time in the night lands a perfect Money Shot!! The referee is in position, Team Canada is at ringside and Shane McMahon is unconscious on the outside of the ring. 1, 2, 3! (84)

Winner: @ 21:56 and NEW WCW World Heavyweight champion, Val Venis!

Val Venis's music plays over the loud speaker and Nick Patrick raises his hand. A look of what can only be described as euphoria comes over Val's face as he is handed the WCW World Heavyweight championship. Venis hugs and kisses the Championship, Storm and Skipper slide back into the ring, and they bring Booker T back to his feet, each holding an arm so that he cannot movem or for that matter escape what is about to come next. Venis walks into a bloody Booker T's view and waves the title in his face shouting and screaming. Venis smashes the title over Booker's head and then punches some nasty shots to the face. It's a three on one assault in the ring, until an almost unmistakable theme hits the loud speakers. It's quite similar to that of the fallen Extreme Championship Wrestling's theme, and there's good reason why! Rob Van Dam sprints down the aisle with a steel chair in his hand, and slides into the ring! He "stabs" Skipper in the gut with the steel chair and cracks the object over Lance Storm's head. THe new World Champion rolls out of the ring, not wanting any part of Van Dam or his weapon of choice. Team Canada and Val Venis regroup at the bottom of the ramp while RVD holds the chair up in the air, and the fans are on their feet chanting "E-C-Dub!" and "R-V-D" With that Slamboree fades to black.

    WCW Slamboree PPV

    Sunday May 6, 2001

live from the Baltimore Arena: Baltimore, MD

Slamboree opens up with a cool prepackaged video highlighting some of the events that have lead us to the show, and showing many superstars that will compete here tonight on the show, the Slamboree logo fills the screen, then the cameras go live into the arena where pyros ignite, and the cameras capture the thousands of screaming fans in attendance.

Scott Hudson: "It is set to be a monumental night in sports entertainment, and I'm proud to be a part of it. Hello everyone I'm Scott Hudson being joined as always by Arn Anderson, and thank you for ordering WCW Slamboree!"

Arn Anderson: "You know you said it's going to be a monumental event tonight, and I won't disagree with you at all. We've got Lance Storm and Mike Awesome in an Ambulance Match. There is a huge Cruiserweight Open Invitational to get things started, and because of the over whelming response, and entries the rules of this match have changed. Now eliminations may occur in addition to pinfall and submission, by over the top rope, but the final two men in the ring must win the match by submission or pinfall. All titles are on the line tonight, but none bigger than the World Heavyweight title Main Event here tonight, Scott"

Scott Hudson: "For weeks Val Venis has been campaining for his shot at the World Heavyweight title, he will get it tonight one on one with Booker T. Booker T defeated Scott Steiner at the final edition of Monday Nitro, there's no doubt the four time Champion is the main man in WCW but will he be able to overcome Val Venis here tonight."

Arn Anderson: "We'll have to wait and see, folks the beautiful Pamela Paulshock is standing by with WCW Cruiserweight Champion, "Sugar" Shane Helms. take it away Pamela!"

The cameras switch to the interview position where Helms has the WCW Cruiserweight title over his shoulder, and his long brown hair is soaked. Helms paces back and fourth, he's anxious for his match here tonight.

Pamela Paulshock: "Shane Helms, tonight once again you have to put your WCW Cruiserweight title on the line against Chavo Guerrero, and for weeks Chavo has been using dirty tactics to gain non title victories over you. Shane what are you thinking going into this matchup?"

Shane Helms: "Pamela, For weeks, and weeks Chavo Guerrero has been cheating me out of victories, victories in matches that I deserved to win, but Pam how many victories does Chavo hold over me when the Cruiserweight Title is on the line."

Pamela Paulshock: "I believe he's never beaten you with the Cruiserweight title on the line."

Shane Helms: "That's right, and I hold two over him. Obviously when it's one on one, title on the line Chavo Guerrero can't withstand the "Suga Rush!" And tonight, I'm one Vertibreaker away from defending my Cruiserweight title."

With that Helms walks out of the Interview position, and Pamela Paulshock brings things back into the arena. (68)

    Cruiserweight Open Invitational Gauntlet

(Eliminations occur via submission, pinfall, and over the top rope*)

Entrants: Elix Skipper, Kid Romeo, Mike Sanders, Lash Leroux, Disco Inferno, Jamie Noble, Yang, Kaz Hyashi, Yang, and two surprise entrants

Once the camera comes live into the arena, Mike Sanders and Disco Inferno are in the ring starting things off. The bell rings, and the two men lock up. Sanders gets the advantage with a side headlock and is soon brushed into the ropes. Disco plants him with a shoulder block, and runs the ropes, but sanders hops to his feet and takes Disco off his with a well placed dropkick.

They continue on, and when the next entrant's music hits the crowd boos as Team Canada's Elix Skipper rushes into the ring. Skipper and Sanders begin going to work on Disco Inferno, and attempt to lift him up and toss him out of the ring, but disco hangs on and slides back in. Lash Leroux is next to hit the ring, and he takes Sanders out of the double teaming action with a hard clothesline. The ring is beginning to fill up as Kaz Hyashi makes his way into the mix. He goes straight for Lash Leroux, and now Skipper and Hyashi are double teaming him. Some weird music begins to play, and Japanese wrestling legend, Jushin Thunder Liger heads to the ring! The ring is becomming full now, and a hard spinebuster from Elix Skipper knocks Disco Inferno just about out. Liger goes straight for the Team Canada member and whips him into the turnbuckle. They hook it up, on the other side of the ring Skipper and Hyashi succeed in eliminating Lash Leroux from the match!

Jamie Noble is the next to enter the ring. Skipper and Liger are on the top turnbuckle, and the Japanese legend brings him down to the mat hard with a frankensteiner! Liger gets to his feet, and Skipper comes running, Liger with a hip toss, and Sanders is over the top rope and out to the floor! Yang is in next, leaving only the last surprise entrant to enter the match. Jamie Noble counters Disco Inferno's attempt at the last Dance with a revrse Suplex that hangs Disco on the top rope, Noble dropkicks him and he is out to the floor. Then, a familiar theme hits the speakers, and Juventud Guerrera makes his return to the WCW, quickly rushing to the ring with a huge amount of fan fare. The Jung Dragons have began to double team Jushin Liger, Skipper joins the mix as well and the three men toss him up and over the top rope, and out to the arena floor, not the debut he had wished for.

It's down to Elix Skipper, Kaz, Yang, Guerrera and Noble. Kaz Hyashi is soon eliminated when he stands on the top rope attempting to hit a move to a fallen Juventud, Jamie Noble pushes him off and he lands awkwardly out on the arena floor. Skipper eliminated Yang to bring things to the final three, but a quick dropkick from behind by Juventud brings things down to just he and Jamie Noble. Juventud Guerrera is definatly the favorite to win this match up now, and chants of "Juvi! Juvi! Juvi!" are widespread. A vicious lightning kick by Juvi drops Noble to the mat. Juvi quickly lifts him up to his feet, and rushes him into the ropes, Juvi with a kick to the gut, JUVI DRIVER!!! Juventud puts Noble into position and calls for the 460 splash, he climbs up to the top, and goes to hit it..... HE MISSES!!! Noble quickly lifts Juvi up to his feet, and nails the Swingblade! 1, 2, 3!! Huge upset victory for Jamie Noble!!!! (61)

    Winner: @ 18:36, Jamie Noble!

the fans don't seem to like the outcome of the match, but they have to respect the match Jamie Noble put on, huge huge win for this young man here on Slamboree! Noble celebrates, and heads to the back.

A promotional video is played hyping showing the way in which the World Tag Team title bout came about with Kronik attacking the Champions O'Haire and Palumbo, then defeating the Mamalukes to gain their shot at the tag titles. the video ends with clips from Unleashed when O'Haire and Palumbo attacked Kronik with the Tag titles.

WCW World Tag Team Title Match

    Referee: Charles Robinson

    O'Haire and Palumbo© vs KroniK

Things get started rather quickly once both teams are in the ring, Bryan Clarke and sean O'Haire start things off. Things get scary for a moment when Clarke hits O'Haire with a badly-executed spinning neckbreaker. But Clarke quickly makes the cover only to get two. O'Haire looks shaken up a bit, as Clarke tags out to Brian Adams. KroniK hook up O'Haire, then hit a double suplex. Adams covers for a two count on the pin. Sean O'Haire takes a right hand to the temple from Adams, but then reverses a hip toss. O'Haire still seems not to have shaken off the effects of the badley executed neckbreaker and tries to deliver a Powerbomb on Adams, it lands, but not to its fullest. Tag between Sean O'Haire and Chuck Palumbo. Chuck Palumbo is in an quickly hits a Full nelson slam on Adams. Palumbo lifts him up, and Adams drops out the back of a bodyslam attempt. Adams tags out to Bryan Clarke. Flapjack from Clarke and he goes for the cover, 1, 2...... KicSuckt!!! The referee gets knocked down after a bad exchange, and Kronik begins double teaming the champions with nasty exchanges. Mark Jindrak comes running down the aisle and onto the apron! Clarke turns...and is dropped throat-first onto the top rope by Jindrak! Mark Jindrak has left Clarke in big trouble. Chuck Palumbo moves in for the kill. Jungle Kick! Jindrak revives the referee and Palumbo makes the cover! 1....2....3! (67)

Winners: @ 6:22and STILL WCW World Tag Team Champion, Palumbo & O'Haire!

Thanks to the help of Natural Born Thriller buddy Mark Jindrak, the Champion have retained their titles. KroniK look like they aren't done...and they attack O'Haire and Palumbo! After an exchange of blows the Champions high tail it, and head for the hills.

A video package plays highlighting the evolving feud between Shane Helms and Chavo Guerrero Junior, all leading up to this showdown tonight at Slamboree!

    WCW Cruiserweight Title Match

    Referee: Charles Robinson

Chavo Guerrero Jr. vs Shane Helms©

Helms made his authentic entrance complete with the Sugar Babies, and the Cruiserweight Title. He was strong going in, looking to successfully defend the Cruiserweight Title early in this bout. Everything Chavo attempted to do, Shane would counter, which only seemed to agitate the champion. Guerrero ducked a Helms attack, knocking his opponent to the floor. This slowed Sugar down, leading to a dominant advantage for Chavo, who delivered an illegal blow, just out of the referee's visual range. Helms was like a machine as he fought back, applying as huge neckbreaker that weakened Guerrero. A series of fast paced near falls followed, with neither man getting the decisive win. The challenger went to the top, diving onto Shane, who was out on the floor. As soon as they were back into the ring, Sugar turned things around, this time going to the top himself, hitting a tremendous flying bodypress from the top to the outside. Back inside, Helms called for the Vertabreaker, but after Chavo countered, Shane followed through with the Nightmare on Helms Street Super Kick! He covered but Chavo managed to get a boot on the ropes. Guerrero went to the second rope for a tornado DDT, but Helms blocked it, setting up for victory. Chavo thought different, however, and countered Helm's vertibreaker and attempted to apply the Brainbuster, Helms countered once again in an awesome series of exchanges and managed to nail the Vertibreaker for the clean victory after a hard fought battle! (86)

Winner: @ 8:11 and still WCW Cruiserweight Champion, "Sugar" Shane Helms!

A pre packaged video begins to air, the Canadian National anthem is playing, and some clips of Lance Storm and Mike Awesome as Team Canada are shown, with them gaining the big victories they had, then the music rips into a hard rock beat as Lance Storm is shown smashing the Canadian plag over Awesome's head, and the voice overs start to play.

"Tonight this isn't about Canada, it isn't about Nationalities or alliances, tonight Lance I'm set out to do one thing."

"You are nothing but a mindless fool, a typical american moron and Lance I am set to do one thing."

"I will put you in that ambulance"

"I will put you in that ambulance"

"Your career is about to be killed, at the hands of the Career Killer!"

    "Don't Blame Canada, Blame Yourself!"

The clip ends, and the scene goes live into the arena where the ambulance is parked right next to the entrance ramp

  8. Very, very good read man, loving every bit of it. I loved the way your using WCW Live as the platform until the TV deal is finalized, and I think the show was just right. The history between Steiner/ Booker, and Magnificent Seven really needed to be rehashed, it's seemed like forever since that was going on. You have an awesome diary going on, I'll be reading. Loving the promoes, it's made me get my ass back in gear and get back to work on my WCW 2001 diary.

You know Mike, you really are one stupid American, I mean I can see that you wanted to go on your own, but actually thinking that you can beat me in a match? ha, ha, ha!"

Storm laughs but within a few moments he is back to his usual dull expression.

Lance Storm: "Mike Awesome I'm going to lay it down in the most specific of terms. Tomorrow night I will be walking away from our match while you are the one being excorted out in the ambulance. And Mike, don't blame Canada, blame yourself!"

How did the referee not see that? Chris Kanyon remains in the ring, celebrating the victory and the fans are giving him their worst. Chris Kanyon could very well be the next United states Champion, only time will tell. The show takes it's final commercial break.

When the show returns, the ring is decked out with a red carpet, and in the center of the ring is a desk with chairs on both sides. WCW interviewer Pamela Paulshock is in the ring with a microphone.

Pamela: "Ladies and gentlemen, at this time we will have the official contract signing for tomorrow night's World Heavyweight title Main Event. Please welcome first, from Las Vegas Nevada, he is the challenger. Weighing in at 245 pounds, Val Venis!"

Venis's music plays, and he makes his way out to the ring in a rather cocky way. Dressed in tan slacks and a purple dress shirt, the Big Valbowski climbs into the ring, and checks out Paulshock for a few moments before going to his side of the desk.

Pamela: "Please welcome at this time, from Harlem New York, weighing in at 267 pounds, he is the WCW World Heavyweight champion.... Booker T!"

"Don't Hate the Player, Hate the Game!" "YEEEEEAAAAAHHHH!!!" Booker recieves perhaps the loudest pop of the night, and the WCW Champion makes his way to the ring with honor, and the title strapped over his shoulder with pride. Booker gets into the ring and takes his side of the desk, the champion and the challenger stare each other down.

Pamela Paulshock: "Alright guys, if you'll take your seats we can begin."

They both sit down, neither man looks comfortable in the ring.

Pamela: "Shane McMahon has already done his part, and his signateure is at the bottom, officially sanctioning the match. Now first Val, you will need to sign."

Venis picks up his pen, and Pamela hands him the clipboard with the contract. Val quickly skims it over, and signs his name. Pamela takes the clip board and slides it over to Booker T.

Pamela: "Booker, you are the Champion, now all we'll need for this match to be official is your signature.

Booker T overlooks the contract, and then looks at val Venis who is smiling, this shot at the title is what he has been waiting for since he debuted some weeks ago. Booker looks it over, then after thinking about it he signs his signature. (86)

Pamela: "Alright, it's official, tomorrow night May the sixth at Slamboree it will be Booker T going one on one with Val Venis for the World Heavyweight Title! Now"........

Before Pam can finish Val Venis interupts her, and takes the microphone.

Val Venis: "So, it's official tomorrow night the Big Valbowski gets his shot at the World Heavyweight Title?"

Pam: "Well yeah, the contract is signed, it's official."

Val Venis: "Huh, huh ha! That's all I needed to hear, little lady, huh huh ha! Hit the bricks!"

Pam looks shocked, but she quickly does as Val says, and leaves the ring. Val looks at booker T and brings the mo rophone back up to his mouth.

Val Venis: "Huh ha ha, Now Booker a few weeks ago the Big Valbowski looked you straight into the ye and said this wasn't personal, the Big Valbowski is here for one reason and one reason only, that title that is around your waist! Booker, the Big Valbowski is gonna tell you like it is, he's going to take every shortcut it takes, every little trick up his sleeve will be pulled out and come hell or high water the Big Valbowski will walk away the new World Heavyweight champion!"

The crowd boos loudly and Venis walks around the ring as if he's shocked.

Val Venis: "It's the truth. Now Booker I can see you're all riled up, but I'd save my energy if I were you there big guy, you're going to need it."

Venis goes to walk away, but Booker gives him a shove and takes the microphone.

Booker T: "Nah.... it ain't like that, Sucka! You gonna get in my face, and tell me you gonna beat me for my title? How bout'cha prove it right here right now!"

The crowd cheers at the thought of the match happening right now. Venis looks back, and shakes his head. He acts as if he's going to walk away then he swings wildly! Booker blocks, and grabs Val by the back of the head, BAM! Venis' head smashes off of the table. Val staggers back and Booker hooks him up, BOOK END!!! THE DESK CRUMBLES!!! Val Venis is lying in the ring in a pile of debris, Booker goes over and grabs the microphone. He stands over Val with the World Title on his shoulder.

Booker T: "Now can you dig that? SUCKAAAAAAAAAA!!!"

The crowd loves what they see and Booker T walks around posing with the World Heavyweight title. Can Booker T hold on to his Championship Tomorrow night, or will Val Venis's dream come true? The show fades into the WCW logo and then goes off the air. (85)

  10. I like the way your diary is going thus far, but I'd like to make a few suggestions for you. Firstly, I can't stand how WWE uses Steven Richards and Val Venis as "Heat" or "Job" guys. The Raw Tag division is lacking credible teams if anything else pair these two together, they do work well as a team, and if pushed right they'd get some good reviews. I like how you use independant guys in try out matches the way WWE does. I'll be reading.

Arn Anderson: "Last week Kronik, Brian Adams and Bryan Clark interfered in a non title match costing Sean O'Haire and Chuck Palumbo the victory. It's clear to me Scott, these boys want the World Tag Team Titles back around their waists."

Scott Hudson: "Well Arn, they may get them soon, it's the first match of the evening Kronik is in tag team action against the Mamalukes, the men that were victorious over O'Haire and Palumbo last week. The winners of this match will get a World Tag Team Title shot at Slamboree just eight days away!"

    World Tag title Contendership Match

    Standard Rules Contest

    Referee: Mickey Jay

    Mamalukes vs KroniK

Things get started rather quickly once both teams are in the ring. Brian Adams uses a neckbreaker on Vito, but can't hold him down. Adams with an arm wringer, tag to Bryan Clarke. KroniK hook up Vito, then hit a double suplex. Clarke with the cover, 1, 2.... kickout! Big Vito reverses a waistlock and rushes off into the ropes. Vito tags out to Johnny The Bull, and the powerhouse of the team knocks his opponent down with a clothesline. Johnny The Bull. The Bull charges and leaps to the top rope, back elbow connects, Clarke staggers backward, and Johnny knocks him down with a dropkick. Clarke staggers over into the corner, and Johnny comes ruinning.... Clarke counters with a raised foot to the face. Clarke tags to Brian Adams. HArd headbutt on The Bull by Adams, and Big Vito blind tags. Adams tosses Johnny the Bull over the top rope, Clarke gets in the ring they do a beatdown, KroniK have Big Vito to themselves, and he's in trouble. They grab his throat.....High Times! 1....2....3! (72)

Winners: A 5:23 Brian Adams & Bryan Clarke, Kronik!

Kronik's music is playing, but before the victory celebration can begin O'Haire and Palumbo come running down the aisle with the Tag Team Titles in their hands. They slide in behind KroniK...and drop them with Tag Title shots to the back of the head! The Champions stomp away at their challengers, and the men who attacked them last week. O'Haire and Palumbo leave the ring, Kronik is down but it won't be that easy for the Champions next Sunday at Slamboree?

When the show returns, "Self High five!" BANG!! the music of Diamond Dalls Page fills the arena, and the former three time Heavyweight champion of the World makes his way out to the ring.

Scott Hudson: "Well Arn, lets take a look at what went down here last week on WCW UNleashed, Jeff Jarrett laid out the challenge to Diamond Dallas Page!"

Clips of Jarrett's interview with Pamela Paulshock are aired, with Jarrett talking about WCW's old guard and challenging Page to a match at Slamboree where if Page loses, he must surrender his contract to Jeff Jarrett and never wrestle in WCW again!

Diamond Dallas Page is finally in the ring, and chants of "DDP! DDP! DDP!" are heard throughout the audience. Page puts the microphone up to his mouth and begins to speak.

DDP: "You know, this business has an awful way of letting a guy know that his years are catching up to him. Yeah, I was watching last week, and yeah I saw Jeff Jarrett running his mouth about how he ran the guys like Sting, and Savage, and Flair out of the WCW, then go on and talk about how ol' DDP is the next to be put on the shelf. Well Jeff Jarrett....... I don't think so!"

Page walks around the ring, and seems to be contemplating his next choice of words.

DDP: "Jeff Jarrett I am a three time, three time, three time! Heavyweight champion of the World, and the real legends of the WCW the Flairs, the Stings and the Dusty Rhodes, those are guys you couldn't even shake a stick at. So Jeff, I am so confident that I can beat your ass at Slamboree that I'm going to accept your little challenge. You want to put DDP on the shelf, you want me to put my career on the line against you in just eight days, well Jeff I accept your challenge...... but if I'm to put my career on the line, you're going to have to put something on the line as well."

Suddenly a weird synthesized voice echoes throughout the arena "the Chosen One!" and Jeff Jarrett's music plays over the loudspeaker. Jarrett marches out to the ring quickly, guitar in one hand and microphone in the other. Jarrett climbs into the ring, and looks straight at Diamond Dallas Page.

Jeff Jarrett: "Let me get this straight there, Slap Ass..... you're telling me that you accept my challenge at Slamboree? You're going to put your career on the line against the Chosen One, if I meet your one demand? Ha, ha, Page you stupid ol' fool I accept your little demand whatever the hell it is!"

Page smiles and brings his microphone up to his mouth.

DDP: "Alright, so everyone just heard that right? Well Jeff let me tell you how it's going to go. If you beat me at Slamboree, I walk out of here a defeated man, likely to never return. But here's the good part oh, yeah! You see Jeff if I beat you, those pretty little Golden locks get shaved Bald!

Jarrett's eyes get big, and he feels his trademark blonde hair. The fans love the mere thought of Jarrett's head being shaved bald!

Scott Hudson: "Never accept terms before you know what you're getting yourself into Jeff. Arn as I recall, Jeff Jarrett hasn't done so well in matches where his hair has been on the line."

Arn Anderson: "Ha ha, I don't think he has either."

DDP: "And one more thing Jeff, next Sunday at Slamboree, you will feel....the... BANG!!!"

Page's music plays over the speakers once again. The Match is now official Jeff Jarrett Vs Diamond Dallas Page next Sunday at Slamboree in a hair versus career match! Unleashed goes to a commercial break.(81)

When the show returns we pick up backstage in shane McMahon's office, the WCW owner is shown standing in the room, and when the camera pans over to the right the fans in the arena boo. Standing next to the WCW owner, is Val Venis.

Val Venis: "No Shane, you don't get it, the Big Valbowski didn't make the jump to be just another curtain jerker, I want Booker T next Sunday. Did you not see what he did to me last week after my match? huh!?"

Shane McMahon: "Actually I did Val, in fact I've also seen what you have done to him these past few weeks as well, now Val I'm not an idiot, I know you want to get your hands on Booker T! Hell I know Booker T can't wait to get his hands on you in the ring, these fans want to see the two of you one on one! So Val, the match is kinda already signed, but not really."

    Venis looks confused.

Val Venis: "What do you mean, kind of already signed? What the hell are you talking about?"

Shane McMahon: "Well, I've done my part, I've signed the contract for Booker T Versus Val Venis for the World Heavyweight Title at Slamboree, but I'm missing your signature and his."

Venis Smiles, he loikes what he's just heard, he snatches a pen off of McMahon's desk.

Val Venis: "Huh, huh, ha! Give me the contract!"

    McMahon makes an awkward face.

Shane McMahon: "Well Val I can't do that, just yet! See I've already signed a speacial little segment for next week's Unleashed that just happens to be the night before Slamboree. See Val, next week live on Unleashed you and Booker T will come to the ring for the official contract signing of Slamboree's Main event."

    McMahon looks at his watch.

Shane McMahon: "Now Val, I think you might want to go stretch out, because tonight you team with Jeff Jarrett to take on Diamond Dallas Page, and BOOKER T!"

Val Venis: "You've gotta be kidding me!"

Venis storms out of the office, and the show returns to the arena. (87)

Scott Hudson: "Wow, Slamboree is going to be one hell of an event Arn! We just heard tongiht that DDP will go one on one with Jeff Jarrett in a hair vs career match, and we just heard that Booker T will defend his World title against Val Venis."

Arn Anderson: "Those matches are going to be huge Scott, and that's not all. Over the week Shane McMahon signed even more matches. This Sunday Sugar shane Helms, the WCW Cruiserweight Champion will put his title on the line against Chavo Guerrero jr. This feud has been hot for the past few months, and this match is a don't miss event."

Scott Hudson: "The WCW World Cruiserweight Tag Team Titles will be on the line at Slamboree as well when Evan Karagias & Shannon Moore team up to challenge the champions Rey Misterio jr and Billy Kidman."

Arn Anderson: "Shane McMahon also announced a Cruiserweight Open Gauntlet Match, any Cruiserweight looking to prove themselves worthy of a title shot in that division can enter."

Scott Hudson: "Folks don't go away, it's Cruiserweight action when we return, Billy Kidman and Rey Misterio team up with Sugar Shane Helms to take on Three Count and Chavo Guerrero."

DDP to accept Jarrett's challenge, more on Rob Van Dam, Developmental Talent

The general rumor circulating around the internet is the Diamond Dallas Page is expected to accept Jeff Jarrett's challenge to a "Career" Match. Many feel that Jarrett will go over Page at the Slamboree Pay Per View, this would give Page time off to recuperate from nagging injuries that he has been suffering, and will also help Jeff Jarrett's credibility as a Main Eventer. Nothing is set in stone, this is popular belief though.

WCW.com stated that shane McMahon was in talks with former Extreme Championship Wrestling standout Rob Van Dam. As of right now Van Dam has not commited to a contract, and is still accepting independant bookings.

Finally WCW recently signed Jayson Reign and Jimmy Rave to developmental deals. They have already been added to Level One Wrestling, the official developmental Territory of Shane McMahon's WCW.

  15. Thanks for the tip, but I do this diary as I go, I play a week, and write the show, play a week and write the show, some nights I have time to write two shows, some I don't have any time to do one. As for reusing stuff, that won't happen 'cause I want everything fresh and original as I go. You won't see reused storylines or anything like that. Oh and how'd you get that chart thing at the bottom of your post, I'm dying to learn how to do that.

Last week's UN-leashed was eventful to say the least. After a brutal attack by former partner and Team Canada leader Lance Storm, Mike Awesome will be in attendance this Saturday. Things are getting heated over the Cruiserweight Tag Team Titles, as last week Three Count interfered in a title bout between the Filthy Animals and Romeo & Skipper. Venis steps up to the plate, UNleashed preview

Last Saturday night the new wCw was ushered in with a bang. The first ever wCw UNleashed was a huge success, and Shane McMahon was more than happy with the ratings the show recieved.

The event that had everyone talking was undoubtedly Val Venis' impromptu, and impactful arrival in World Championship Wrestling. Earlier in the show wCw owner Shane McMahon made a declaration to WWF and wCw Superstars alike that wCw was a land of opprotunity, and that if they weren't happy where they were, then grab opprotunity by the throat. Venis did just that when he slid into the ring during the Main Event, and nailed his Money shot maneuver on wCw Champion Booker T, allowing Buff Bagwell to secure the victory for himself and Jeff Jarrett. What's in store this week for both the wCw Champion, and the Big Valbowski?

Last week after losing a match to the World Tag Team Champions Chuck Palumbo & Sean O'Haire, it appears that Team Canada member Mike Awesome is down with the group. He and Lance Storm had a heated confrontation backstage, and Awesome ended up tossing his Team Canada shirt at the group's leader. Tensions are high between these two.

This week on UNleashed expect to see the high flying action and excitement that the wCw's Cruiserweight Division is known for when Cruiserweight Champion Sugar shane Helms teams up with Lash Leroux to take on Chavo Guerrero and Jamie Noble. Plus the World Cruiserweight Tag Team Titles will be on the line as Rey Mysterio jr and Billy Kidman take on former Champions Elix Skipper and Kid Romeo. All this and more this week on another exciting edition of wcw UNleashed!

The scene then cuts live into the arena where the UNleashed set is on display, Pyro errupts on stage, and the camera pans around the arena showing hundreds of fans here to support wCw here tonight. the cameras then cuts to the shows commentary team, Scott Hudson and Arn Anderson at ringside.

Scott Hudson: "Folks get prepared, because you're in for one exciting hour of Sports Entertainment, Hello everyone Scott Hudson here along with Arn Anderson welcoming you to wCw UNleashed!"

Before Arn Andrerson can even add his two cents, the familiar sound of "Buff....Daddy" is heard over the Public Address, and the man who scored a pinfall victory over the World and United States Champion, Booker T last week comes out to the disproval of the fans in the audience.

Arn Anderson: "Oh boy, you'd better get the boots on 'cause Buff Bagwell is making his way to the ring, and it's going to get thick Scott."

Scott Hudson: "After securing the pinfall over Booker T last week, you know Buff Bagwell is going to be gloating about this one."

Bagwell gets into the ring and poses in the corner turnbuckle, then hops off. Buff Daddy takes off his airbrushed top hat, and silver shades as ring announcer David Penzer hands him the microphone.

    Buff Bagwell: "WHAT'S UP DAYTONAAHHH!!!??"

"Boo" what would once have garnered the former fan favorite a cheap pop works in reverse now and Buff Bagwell seems to love it.

Buff Bagwell: "Oh come on ya'll... I said WHAT's UP DAYTONAAAAAAHHHH!!!?"

Even louder from the audience now, and Bagwell seems satisfied.

Buff Bagwell: "Oh come on, no love for Buff Daddy? Ha ha, well that's cool 'cause Beff Daddy ain't got no love (points all around) for any of you!"

Bagwell's smile is now erased and a serious expression comes over his tanned face.

Buff Bagwell: "Now in case ya'll didn't see me in action last week let me refresh you're memory. You see the way I see it, last week here in the center of this here ring, Buff Daddy pinned Booker T's shoulders down to the mat for the 1, 2, 3! Now, now let me set all of ya'll straight on something. Here's a guy that holds both the world and US straps, and your's truly defeats him hands down."

Scott Hudson: "The way I see it Buff had a little help in the process, Arn."

Buff Bagwell: "Now Buff Daddy's not a greedy man, so Shane McMahon listen up! I'm not asking ya to give me a shot at the World Title, I'm asking you this; take that United States Title off of the waist of Booker T, and walk down to this ring and strap it around my waist, because after last week I deserve it! I'm Buff, I'm the stuff, and that United States Championship belongs to me! Come on Shane, walk your ass into this ring and hand me that United States Title."

Bagwell rests the mic at his side and waits to see if shane McMahon is going to take him up on this offer. Not to long after and "Here comes the Money!" is heard marking the entrance of the wCw owner himself, Shane McMahon. Suprisingly enough, McMahon has the United States title in his left hand!

Arn Anderson: "Do you see what's in his hand Scott?"

Scott Hudson: "That's the wCw United States Title, please tell me that shane McMahon isn't going to meet Bagwell's demands here!?"

McMahon gets into the ring, and is given a microphone. Bagwell is applauding the wCw owner and has quite the smile on his face.

Shane McMahon: "You know Buff, you're right. You did pin Booker T's shoulders to the mat last week, and because of that you probably do deserve this United States Title."

The fans boo, and Bagwell agrees with McMahon.

Shane McMahon: "But...... I'm not going to hand you this title."

Bagwells smile vanishes and he shouts "what do you mean!?"

Shane McMahon: "Well it's simple Buff, you see wCw rule books clearly state that the World Champion can not hold another singles title at the same time they are reigning as World Champion. Therefor Booker T has relinquished the United States Title which is why I hold it in my hand right now. But Buff, you do make a pretty fair claim. You did beat Booker T last week, therefor you will recieve a shot at the United states Title."

Buff Bagwell: "What do you mean I get a shot? I pinned Booker, that title should be mine!"

Shane McMahon: "Well Buff you beat booker T, therefor you should have no problem with your opponents when you fight for this title."

    Buff Bagwell: "Opponents!?"

Shane McMahon: "Oh, I didn't tell you that you wouldn't be recieving your title in a singles match? Silly me, how about I clear things up for you Buff. You see you will recieve the title shot, and You'll recieve it on May 06 at wCw Slamboree in a little match I'm calling "Shane McMahon's Sensational Six Pack Challenge." You see Buff it will be Buff Bagwell teaming with Shawn Stasiak and Chris Kanyon to take on Ernest the Cat Miller, Hugh Morrus and Crowbar where the first person to secure pinfall or submission will be the new wCw United States Champion. But Buff, (Shane pats him on the back) you shouldn't have anything to be worried about. After all you did pin Booker T."

McMahon smiles and his music plays once again, and UNleashed plays over the speakers, Bagwell isn't happy as the show fades to commercial. (82%)

live from the MGM Grand Arena: Las Vegas, Nevada

the music of Limp Bizkit's Break stuff begins to play, and wCw comes on the air live with an exclusive video package. Highlights of previous wCw footage, including the infamous Night of Champions is played. Booker T, Diamond Dallas Page and Buff Bagwell get alot of hype in it. Other wCw stars such as Rey Mysterio, Kidman, Lance Storm, and Jeff Jarrett are shown. Mike Awesome is seen delivering an Awesome Bomb to Diamond Dallas Page, and Shane Helms' Vertibreaker on Chavo Guerrero Jr. brings an explosion on the screen along with the brand new wCw UNleashed logo.

The scene then cuts live into the arena where an awesome set is on display, featuring a futuristic Entrance Ramp, and revamped Jumbo Tron. Pyro errupts on stage, and the camera pans arounf the arena showing hundreds of fans here to support wCw here tonight. the cameras then cut to Scott Hudson and Arn Anderson at ringside.

Scott Hudson: "Folks welcome to the most exciting hour on Cable Television today! I'm Scott Hudson along with my partner the "Enforcer" Arn Anderson, and we welcome you to the very first edition of wCw's UNleashed! And man, can you hear these screaming fans Arn, phew... we are in for one incredible night!"

Arn Anderson: "Of course, and what better a way to start off the very first show from the new wCw than with a word from the new owner himself, Shane McMahon?"

Arn anderson's words give prompt for the notorious "ca-ching!" and "Here comes the Money!" Shane McMahon's music plays on the Public address system, and it isn't long before the man himself is standing at the top of the ramp. The crowd gives their support for the new wCw owner, and Shane delivers his trademark shuffle before heading to the ring. Once Shane is in the squared circle he looks around and takes in the entire crowd.

Shane McMahon:"Wow! Are you guys ready for a show or what!?"

McMahon recieves the cheap pop, and smiles agreeingly.

Shane McMahon: "Well we're here to give it to ya! But first theres a little suntin' suntin' Shane O' Mac needs to get off his chest. You see, at Night of Champion, when I swept wCw out from under my father, I made a promise. Yeah, I made a promise when I said that the WCW would rise again, and kick my father's ass like it did before!"

The crowd likes what they are hearing, and McMahon isn't through.

Shane McMahon: "Well...... it all starts here tonight! You see tonight is about new beginnings. firstly a new beginning for myself as I run wCw and take it to that next level, and a new beginning for the company as a whole. Alot of things are going to happen here in the Double-ya See-dubbya, and I for one can't wait to see them happen. Now, at Wrestlemania I defeated my father just as I said I would, so maybe that gave the boys in the back up in New York a little awakening. Maybe that woke them up."

McMahon paces back and fourth before continuing

Shane McMahon: "In cased your confused let me clear things up. I'm making a declaration right now to the boys my father has right now, if you feel that you aren't getting the opprotunities that you deserve, my door is open. You see shane McMahon's wCw is a land of opprotunity, one in which that the gutsy and the brave; those who sieze chance by the throat will be rewarded. It's plain and simple; if you wanna make an impact, then step right up!"

Scott Hudson: "Oh my, McMahon just laid out the gauntlet to the superstars of both the WWF and wCw, if you want to make a name for yourself, then step up to the plate!"

Shane McMahon: "Now enough of that, onto tonight. I'm sure you're all ready to get the action underway, so let me inform you of what's in store for tonight. Tonight we have to rematches from Night of Champions, as team Canada's Lance Storm and Mike Awesome team up to challenge Sean O'Haire and Chuck Palumbo for the world Tag Team titles!"

"And, these two seemed like they didn't settle the score last time, so the Cruiserweight champion Shane Helms will step into the ring in a non title contest! But how about the Main Event tonight? Yeah..... Tonight in this very ring you will see the WCW World Heavyweight and United States Champion Booker T team up with Diamond Dallas Page to take on the chosen One Jeff Jarrett and Buff Bagwell!"

the crowd seems to like what they here as they show their approval vocally.

Shane McMahon: "I'll leave with this, remember boys, wCw is all about opprotunity."

McMahon's music plays once again and the owner of World Championship wrestling leaves the ring and Unleashed goes to a commercial break.(77)

  21. The year 2001 will for now, and always be remembered as one of the most controversial years in Sports Entertainment. As the temperature began to rise, and winter's snow melted away to spring it was clear to see that things just weren't the same in the Industry. As winter progressed it was becoming very clear that ECW no longer existed as an entity in Sports Entertainment. January 2001's Guilty as Charged PPV, a show that saw Rhino unify the ECW World and Television Titles was the last show the Philadelphia based promotion aired, and by Springtime some of their biggest stars including Rhino, Justin Credible, and Tajiri were already active in the WWE.

Even more bad news came during the year when it was found out the rumor was in fact true, Fusient Media's plans to purchase World Championship Wrestling had fallen through. WCW, a promotion once on top of the wrestling world thanks to a combination of a seemingly endless supply of Ted Turner's money, Big named superstars, and a marvelously worked New World Order Angle had fallen drastically since it's last claimed a top spot in the ratings. The nWo, an angle that helped put WCW on the mat would also aid in it's death. For a long time the promotion had been criticized for not elevating younger talent and creating new stars. By the time 2000 came Eric Bischoff and the WCW realized their mistakes and formed a "New Blood" angle that was supposed to see new stars of WCW take over, and rid WCW of the evil veterans that had held them down for so long. But the New Blood were portrayed as heels, and the angle bombed badly. It was too little too late and WCW continued to suffer, both financially and fan interest wise. WCW Nitro on March 26, 2001 was expected to be just any other night, but it surely wouldn't be.

    WCW Monday Nitro

Night of Champions, March 26, 2001

From the Boardwalk Beach Resort Panama City, Florida

The show started off in the weirdest of ways, Vince McMahon standing in  front of the camera with the Raw is War logo behind them. Wait don't turn  your television you are actually watching Nitro on TNT. McMahon gives a  memorable speech saying that he bought out the competition and that the  fate of WCW was now in HIS hands.

    WCW World Heavyweight Title Match

    Booker T Vs Scott Steiner©

Booker bounces off the ropes and levels Steiner with an Axe kick. He gets  Steiner up to his feet and whips him into the ropes, and pancakes the  Champion. Booker spineroonies back up to his feet and drops Steiner with the  Harlem sidekick. Steiner refuses to stay down and Booker goes for the Book  End, Steiner blocks and delivers an awesome Northern lights suplex on the  United States Champion for a two count. Steiner looks to put the US Champ  away and goes for a powerbomb, Booker reverses and hits the Book End! Nick  Patrick makes the count and Booker T has beaten his nemesis to unify the  WCW United States and World Heavyweight Titles. Booker celebrated on the  ramp a proud champion, displaying the emotion that he's known for.

"We're not going anywhere! You can't hold us in your hands and predict our  lives, we're WCW! We've bled and we've sweat, when were you there  McMahon? You weren't!" Ric Flair was on a roll in an emotional in ring  segment, and the Nature Boy challenged Sting to a match later in the  evening.

Billy Kidman and Rey Mysterio defeated Shannon Moore & Evan Karagias as  well as Kaz Hyashi and Yang to earn a shot at Cruiserweight Tag Team  Champions Elix Skipper and Kid Romeo in an action packed match.

Following that match WCW Cruiserweight Champion "Suga" Shane Helms  came out to an awesome entrance with a cool video and the "Sugar babies"  by his side. Helms defeated Chavo Guerrero jr in a rematch from Greed to  retain his title.

An angle is shown from the last weeks Nitro between Lance Storm & Mike  Awesome and Chuck Palumbo & Sean O' Haire. despite Awesome and Storm's  claims for a title win, the Champion ended up defending their titles after an  O'Haire Sean-ton Bomb.

Vince McMahon is shown and he says that he's fired Jeff Jarrett since he's  still a little sour over the way Jarrett left the WWE, and he makes out with  Trish Stratus.

Shawn Stasiak defeated Bam Bam Bigelow in a minute 40 in a match that left  fans with a bad taste in their mouths.

Rey Mysterio jr and Billy Kidman were out next, time for their shots at the  nine day old Cruiserweight Tag Team Titles. Elix Skipper and Kid Romeo put up  a fight, but Mysterio and Kidman get the win, and the Championships.

Vince McMahon is shown on Raw saying it was time for him to make his  statement. William Regal asks him if "he's sure he wants to do this, after all  WCW is a filthy place." Nitro commentator Tony Shiavone proclaims "Oh come  on we've had to do some pretty crazy things Steven Regal, including putting  your ass over on TV!"

    Main Event Contest

    Rivals Final Showdown

    Ric Flair Vs Sting

Flair shoulder blocks Sting to the mat, bounces off the ropes and hurdles the  Stinger. Sting jumps back to his feet as Flair holds the ropes to avoid  contact. Flair begs off prompting a smile from Sting, Flair smiles back and  does his strut. Flair lulls Sting in and kicks him above the belt, Sting shakes it  off and press sla,s the Nature Boy. Sting goes on to win the match with the  Scorpion Deathlock and the two arch rivals embrace emotionally in the center  of the ring.

WCW aired a video package highlighting the men who have held the World  Heavyweight title. Often forgotten Champions such as Ron "Faarooq"  Simmons and Vader are shown as well as Flair, Thesz and Dory Funk jr. A  thrilling tribute that lasted only a minute.

Vince McMahon came on the Jumbo screen and Nitro and Raw aired a  simulcast. McMahon asked fans what should happen to WCW, and who should  he hire. Booker T, Lex Luger, Buff Bagwell and others were mentioned.  McMahon then said that WCW was going to be a trophy and sit forever on his  mantel, and he'd enjoy it when he looks into guys like Booker T's faces and  tell them "YOU'RE FIRED!!"

Shane McMahon didn't like that too much, and unexpectedly walked out live  into the arena on Nitro. McMahon dropped a major bombshell when he  announced that he had bought WCW out from under his father, and under his  leadership they'd once again kick his father's ass! Nitro closed to a very  uneasy feeling.

Six days later at Wrestlemania, and with his mother Linda's help Shane McMahon defeated his father in the first ever Father-Son street match; A handful of WCW superstars were in attendance. WCW looked as if it would be relaunched successfully as a seperate entity from the WEE and under Shane McMahon's guidance it looked as if it would succeed.

Now in reality we all know where it went from here. For some reason, WCW never got another Television deal. Instead of WCW being ran as an entirely different promotion, a handful of guys that were involved with it "invaded the WWF/E" and the angle flopped horribly.

But what if? What if Shane McMahon was given the reigns of the promotion, and allowed a Television deal? That is what this venture is about, WCW after the night of champions.

Many of WCW's Old guard, the Hogans, Savages and Pipers were no longer under contract, and stars like Sting, Goldberg, Kevin Nash and Shane Douglas decided not to accept a buyout from AOL Time Warner, and chose to stay innactive in the business, but WCW still had a decent roster, it would be a challenge for it to succeed but a challenge Shane McMahon had to be ready to accept.

The first plan of action for the McMahon was securing a National television Deal. Since McMahon was officially a part of the WWE, and the fact that Viacom had exclusive rights to their programming McMahon hoped to secure a Saturday Night Television deal with TNN, putting WCW in the position of being a rebel organization. within the first few weeks McMahon inked out deals with Playstation 2, Electronic Arts, Snickers and Acclaim. Next McMahon mapped out plans for a developmental territory for his new company, a small promotion named Level One Wrestling. Former WCW undercarders Air Paris, AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Reno and the Wall were sent to the territory. WCW was becomming organized, and would soon begin to pick up steam.

During March the WWE's Ohio Valley Wrestling released Ron Waterman, Seven, Nick Dinsmore and Rob Conway from their developmental contracts, and Shane McMahon scooped them up for level one wrestling.
