  1. It might not have been that blatant; you don't always know you've nicked the ball. I've had moments when I've put a pretty heavy touch on the ball but at the time have had no idea I've touched it.

Broad does have a pretty good poker face but he had no reaction at all. There could be a case that he didn't know he'd touched it, especially with his bat open faced and it just nicking the outside of the bat.

  2. I don't get why Broad should have walked?

Because it's just not cricket :P

I know it's the honourable thing to do but I've played cricket for the past fifteen years and it's something that has crept into the game. When I play (which is not often anymore) we're told not to walk.

Plus with the pressure of the Ashes would you walk?

  3. I don't get why Broad should have walked? The umpire is there to do a job, it's not Broad's fault. I don't think many of the Australians would have walked, in fact Michael Clarke did the exact same thing during the Ashes in 2010.

Plus if they didn't waste their referral on that one that clearly wasn't out they'd have got the decision.

  4. 14:46 BST: BREAKING: According to Sky Sports News, Blackpool youngster Tom Ince has rejected a move to Cardiff City. Is there another club in for him?

I think the only other club that were really in for him was Swansea but they hadn't agreed terms. Maybe he wants another crack at promotion with Blackpool and his dad?

  5. It was good to see Wanderlei be a bit more aggressive. He doesn't quite have the jaw for it anymore, but he took some solid shots tonight from Stann and managed to stay in the game.

Plus it was awesome seeing Hunt win, always been a fan of him. The last shot on Struve broke his jaw and embedded one of his teeth in his cheek.

  6. Comic spoilers from issue 48.

Rereading the comic, the riot armour that the Governor is wearing (with the shoulder pads and chest plates) seems to be the same or at least very near to the riot gear that the person who jumps out of the van is wearing. Could be a subtle hint that the person in the show was Lilly, who in the comic goes on to kill the Governor after he makes her kill Lori, and in turn the baby.

I wonder if we'll lose half the cast with the final assault on the prison like in the comic? Surely with a TV show they wouldn't kill that many off in one fell swoop would they?

  7. Wow, the atmosphere was electric tonight. Just wish the extra 12,000 that turned up for this and the Arsenal game would come down to Valley Parade on a regular basis. Got to to say though, that was one of the worst defenses I've seen turn up at City this year. It's good to think that we've managed to beat Arsenal and Aston Villa with our second string centre back pairing. I just wished they and Matt Duke would play like they do in the cup, in the league. Although our league form has dipped due to the sheer amount of games we've played this season with a small squad and a defence tonight that are all not really first choice.

I'm tempted to book my hotel tickets for Wembley - but part of me feels like doing that would somehow jinx us for the next leg,

  8. Daredevil 1-6 has been awesome and I love the world they've created around him. Always been one of my favorite characters and this series is doing nothing but feeding that love.

Is that the 2011 Mark Waid volume? If so it's a great read - plus the cover for Issue 4 is great.

I'm reading Daredevil: End of Days at the moment which I'd suggest picking up if you haven't already - it's an eight part mini series about the death of Daredevil and four issues in, it's been a hell of a book so far.

  9. I think Cain won't be stupid enough to stand with him (again) and will get a take down sooner rather than later, dominate from there. Has JDS faced someone with Cain's wrestling skill?

Shane Carwin is the only fighter JDS has fought apart from Cain with a collegiate background, but Carwin was a Division II champion whilst Velasquez was a Division I champion. Carwin managed one takedown from the clinch in the entire three round fight and JDS got straight back up.
