You should get the headset free with the premium version.
EDIT: Unless you're after the new wireless one, which I think is included now in the premium version anyway.
-
You can use the controller to operate DVD's so you don't need the remote.
Althouhg I got the remote free in the premium version of the console.
-
I have one that when if it gets too low, you can just plug it into one of the USB ports with a charger cable and it'll start charging, as you play.

1) Haven't tried it but since we're now getting to the second gen of 360 games they should look just as good on a normal TV.
2) If you're hooked up to the internet it'll download the names for the tracks, album and artist.
3) Top three games coming out - Gears of War, Mass Effect & Madden 07
Games already out - Call of Duty 2, Oblivion & GRAW
Just check IGN or Gamespot for games already out, coming out.

1. I've heard about the whole "Battery Munching" Controller thing, so are there any wired controllers available or are you stuck investing in duracell?
-
The Sopranos: Same situation as the Scarface game, dont expect much, but it's Sopranos.
-
Fuck sake LTBN, how much money do you have and can you lend me 10 quid?
-
I don't think it's been confirmed as yet. Last I heard it was scheduled for sometime around February/March 07.

Games that I've got pre-ordered at the minute:-
Madden NFL 2007 (360)

WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2007 (360)
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas (360)
Call of Duty 3 (360)
Dead Rising: Limited Edition Steel Case (360)
Football Manager 2007 (PC)
Mass Effect (360)
Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway (360)
Too Human (360)
Splinter Cell: Double Agent (360)
Saints Row (360)
Gears Of War (360)
Halo 3 (360)
Fable 2 (360)
Resident Evil 5 (360)
Tony Hawk's Project 8 (360)
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2007 (360)
Dead Or Alive Extreme 2 (360)
The Godfather (360)
Army Of Two (360)
Marvel United (360)
Didn't actually realise I'd got that many pre-ordered. The 360 has really reignited my passion for gaming. I'd gone off it for long enough in the last year or so with my PS2 and Xbox.

WoundedPrune, I let the random name thingy choose my name. I usually play COD2 online, maybe some GRAW from time to time as well.
-
I can't wait for the Watchmen movie. Hopefully Snyder doesn't fuck it up, but he seems to have done some good work on 300 so far so it seems to be in good hands.
I wish somebody would attempt a Preacher movie. It'd be awesome if they somehow got Clint Eastwood to do it and he played The Saint Of Killers too. Doubt it'd happen though.

Mine runs pretty smoothly with no frame rate drops. The only thing that's slightly subject on mine as I said above is the bit of screen tearing during cut scenes. But this is a four month old build of the game and nowhere near the build of the game they'll have now.
-
Does anyone really care about backwards compatibility? I never used it on the PS2 and I've never used it on my 360. If I wanted to play the older game I'd keep my older console just like I've still got my Xbox and my PS2 and will be keeping it once the PS3 comes out.
-
the only games that I really enjoyed on the PS2 was Fatal Frame, Silent Hill, GTA, MGS and Smackdown.
Whaaaaaaat? God of War, Devil May Cry, Jak & Daxter, Twisted Metal Black, FFX, Virtua Fighter 4, Tekken, Guitar Hero, Katamari, Onimusha, Kingdom Hearts, Ratchet & Clank, Mark of Kri, Manhunt, and a ton of other exclusive games/series I'm sure I'm forgetting, didn't do anything for you?
Oh, and Dead Rising > j00. -
It's best to wait with the sports games at this time of year. They're all still nearly full price and the next versions are due out within the next month or two.
-
Has anyone noticed that most games on the X-Box are either sports, racing or FPS?

Gears of War Emergence Day Revealed
Microsoft reveals the date the Gears of War start turning.
by Wade Steel
August 3, 2006 - Ever since the announcement of the Xbox 360, one game has consistently been held up as an early "must-have" for Microsoft's next-generation console -- Gears of War. For nearly two years, gamers have watched as Epic Games' third-person shooter tempted and teased with its promise of a dark sci-fi plot, incredible graphics powered by Unreal Engine 3, and brutal, visceral combat. Today, that wait comes to an end as Microsoft and Epic announce that "Emergence Day" -- the day Gears of War ships and gamers finally get to engage the terrifying Locusts -- is November 12, 2006.
Sony's PlayStation 3 is set to launch November 17.
According to the companies, Gears of War promises to deliver a "harrowing story of mankind's struggle against the the monstrous Locust Horde" and "an intense storyline on the scale of a blockbuster movie."
Shane Kim, general manager of Microsoft Game Studios, claims that the game combines "the best in innovative gameplay, next-generation graphics and interactive storytelling" by harnessing the next-generation power of the Xbox 360 to create a "powerful and immersive entertainment experience."
For his part, Cliff Bleszinski, lead designer at Epic and the man most repsonsible for the Gears of War concept, states that Epic sought to create with the game a "one-two punch of cinematic action paired with a thrilling and compelling interactive experience."
The game will be available in a standard version which will retail for $59.99 and a metal-boxed limited collector's edition available for $69.99 which will include an official "Destroyed Beauty" art book and a bonus DVD featuring an inside look at the making of the game.

I was hyped about Dead Rising until I learned that you have to actually do the missions because of timers etc and there's no way to actually go around and just kill zombies for an hour or so. Either way I'll still be getting it.
Since you've got Prey and Chromehounds I suspect you like shooters, if so get Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter or Call Of Duty 2, they're the best games I've played for the 360.
I'll run through the games I've got and tell you whether or not to bother with them.
King Kong - You'll go through it once and never want to go through it again. There's no replay factor. Give it a rent, it's an easy way to get 1000 achievments points for 6 hours of play. Rent
Madden 2006 - I wasn't bothered about all the features being gone, it's still a great game. But with 2007 two/three weeks away it's not worth bothering with. Don't Bother
Gun - It's pretty decent, worth a rental but don't buy. Rent
Dead Or Alive 4 - A great game and looks great. Give it a rental to try it out but don't buy as the next one is due out later this year. Rent
Kameo: Elements Of Power - It's a good game but I got bored of it and haven't got half way through it yet. I might go back to it but I doubt it. Don't Bother
Table Tennis - It's by Rockstar, so it's good. Although it's a little monotonous. You'd probably be best served getting the demo off live and playing as I can't see there being much more than that actually. Dont' Bother
GRAW - As I said above it's tied with COD2 for my fave game so far. The best looking game alongside Oblivion. Buy
COD2 - Great shooter. Better than the first COD and the multiplayer (now it's been patched and more maps added) is hella fun. Buy
Prey - I really liked this game and loved the story. But you've got this already. Buy
Need For Speed Most Wanted - I enjoyed this, but it's not worth buying. Give it a rental. Rent
Burnout - Buy it. It's the best driving game out on any platform at the moment. Buy
Oblivion - If you want something to fill the void until Madden comes out, don't buy this as it'll take over your nights and you'll probably forget about Madden. Buy
2006 Fifa World Cup - I just wanted something whilst the World Cup was on. If you're into soccer rent it, if not don't bother. Don't Bother
Far Cry - If you've played it on the PC it's the same game. I didn't like it however, played about half an hour and tossed it to the side. Don't Bother
Tiger Woods - Great game, give it a rental if you like but don't buy as 07 is due out before the end of the year. Rent
Tomb Raider - It's a return to form for Lara Croft. I really enjoyed this game but it's a one time through game. Rent
Battlefield 2 - Fun for the multiplayer and that's all. If you like multiplayer games rent it or download the demo, otherwise don't bother. Don't Bother
Blazing Angels - I think this is among the worst flight games I've played. Avoid Totally
Fight Night Round 3 - The best boxing game on any console ever. I don't know if there's another one coming out soon but rent it. Rent
Hitman Blood Money - It's a great game but you'll not want to go through it more than once probably. Rent
Condemned - Like so many games on the 360 you'll got through it once and never put it in again. Rent it because it's a good game. Rent
I'm probably missing something but they're the ones I've got that I can remember off the top of my head.
Plus if you just want a fun game, download Street Fighter from the Arcade.
Also, I probably wouldn't bother buying anything if you can't buy many games because over the next three or four months there are some great games coming out like Gears Of War, Madden 2007, Saints Row, Splinter Cell: DA, Crackdown, Marvel UA, COD 3, Rainbow Six Vegas and SD vs. RAW 07. Just go through renting the backlog of 360 games, it should keep you going until Madden.

It's repeated again on Sky One at 02:35 on Sunday morning.
If you have Sky Two it's on at 21:00 on Monday.

I have no problems with Ledger being Joker. Actually I think it's a good choice and that he'll be able to carry it well.
I always thought Jake Gyllenhaal was going to be cast as the Joker ever since Nolan said Gyllenhaal was his first choice to play Batman until he was won over by Bale's audition. No doubt we'll probably see Gyllenhaal as Two Face or some other character down the line.

I watched and thought it was pretty decent. The only thing that irked me was the portrayal of the females. I didn't find any of them particularly likeable apart from the daughter, but even then she was too sterotyped if you know what I'm saying. The production values were excellent considering it's a show from Sci Fi. Stargate & Battlestar are among my favourite programs but they went above and beyond them with the look for this show. It looked like something you'd expect from ABC or NBC.
I think it's scheduled for 8 or so episodes is it? Hopefully it gets more commissioned as I believe it's now Sci Fi's highest rated show as it has some potential for some good stories.
Also it's the perfect lead in to The 4400 which starts again next week.
The 4400 hasn't started again for you poor folks? God damn that show is great.

It's ok, I've noticed a lot of screen tearing but it's expected with the demo being an early build of the game (I think it's from like 4 or 6 months ago). The game world seems a little small from looking at the map, especially compared to San Andreas. It seems bigger than Vice City however. The mechanics are great and knocking people down is hella fun with the ragdoll pyschics.
The combat seems decent and being able to aim while driving is a welcome addition. The puncing etc. is great as well using both trigger buttons to land combos.
Graphics aren't up to standard of games like GRAW and Oblivion but they're still better than most, and probably better than any game in this genre. Graphics could have something to do with it being an early build though. Some of the interactions are great as well. I was playing as a fat hispanic with cornrows and this guy in a suit starts going on a rant 'You dirty spic, you're a disgrace to this country' etc so I pistol whipped him and pumped him full of lead whilst he was on the ground. There also seems to be a good number of different NPC's. It was quite a bit until I noticed two the same.
Overall, it seems like a very good game and it's me more pumped than I was before and will probably beat out GTA until the next GTA game comes out next year.

Find the quote on a website or something of them saying no-one would be leaving and print it out and take it and the shirt back to the shop, they should give you another. If not complain to the trading standards and then you'll get a new shirt.
I bought a Bradford City shirt for my nephew a few months back and had Cadamarteri put on the back for him. Then he got busted for drugs. They had no qualms about changing the shirt.
EDIT: Hopefully Windass will stay the whole season as I'm getting his name on the new City shirt when it comes out.

Did Reyes actually end up costing £20 million. I know the deal was worth a potential £20 million over time based on appearances etc. which probably won't get paid now.
