  1. Thunder looked weird today, almost like none of the players wanted to step up and take control of the game. Having said that it's entirely possible that they are so focussed on trying to contain Duncan, Parker, Ginobili etc that they aren't that focussed on offence. The whole team were often caught coming up the court behind Westbrook. They look tired, which is silly given they are the youngest team still in the playoffs. I think at the moment Boston and Miami would run them off the court. It's not even that they are setting up half court sets, they seem to be forced into them because they are slow in transitioning.

Having said that I blame SA, I don't think I have ever seen a SA game I have enjoyed.

Durant was in control of that game from the tip. He kept his teammates involved throughout and then Dirked them in the fourth quarter to the tune of 16 straight.

  2. Quick question I'd like some feedback on...

In my fantasy league I'm running with the following rotation:

    Matt Garza

    Zack Greinke

    C.J. Wilson

    David Price

    Josh Johnson

Yovanni Gallardo, Chris Sale and James McDonald are free agents and I'm flirting with the idea of swapping one of my guys for one of them. Garza has been struggling lately and Josh Johnson has been up and down (although has been better lately). So basically I'm asking: WWEWBD? What Would EWB Do?

  3. So rumors are going around that the Clippers might try to get Scott Brooks to come coach for them. I think it would be a great move for the Clippers, but a poor move for Brooks and the Thunder. I really think Brooks could be the next Popovich, and probably be around even longer (I'm not sure how long Pop has been around SA...)

On the Clippers end, however, Brooks would get the most out of the role players in position already and help scout younger and more athletic players.

  4. I tried to find fourth quarter stats for Romo, but found this article.

    http://thelandryhat.com/2011/06/14/tony-romo-is-more-clutch-than-you-have-been-led-to-believe/

A lot of people will point at Tony Romo for the reason the Dallas Cowboys have not returned to glory. You will often hear that Romo lacks any clutch gene and that he shrinks in the big moment. These criticisms of Romo sound awfully similar to those you used to hear of Peyton Manning or that you now hear of Miami Heat star LeBron James.

ESPN’s NFC West blogger Mike Sando wrote a piece inspired by LeBron’s fourth-quarter insufficiency and looked at the NFC West quarterbacks in clutch situations. Sando’s piece then inspired ESPN Dallas’ Todd Archer to look at Romo’s statistics in the big moments.

Does Tony Romo really lack the clutch jean? Is he unable to get the job done when pressure is on? The numbers tell a different story than what you may have been led to believe.

Archer looks at Romo’s stats in fourth-quarter games where the score was within seven points. In those situations, Romo has a passer rating of 101.5. In those close fourth-quarters during Romo’s career, he has 2,418 yards with 17 touchdowns and only 8 interceptions.

That doesn’t sound like a guy who shrinks in the clutch to me. In fact, only Peyton Manning has a higher passer rating in those same fourth-quarter situations.

People may continue to tell you Romo is not a clutch quarterback, but you can’t ignore the facts.

The Cowboys inability to make a serious run lately cannot be blamed on Tony Romo. He is doing all he can and the statistics back it up. If you want to point blame on anyone, blame the horrible offensive line play and the defense that has more holes than Swiss cheese.

Also found that Romo has the most yardage, second most touchdown passes and third highest passer rating in the fourth quarter by any QB since '08.

  5. Romo has had 14 or fewer interceptions during his past three complete seasons. And watching a Cowboys game, you'll realize most of Romo's interceptions are completely fluke-ish. They come off crap like Dez Bryant running the wrong route or bouncing off Witten's hands.

The one that really sticks out to me is last year's opener in NY against the Jets and Dez ran the wrong route and Romo ended up throwing a perfect pass to Revis that led to a Jets win.

I think the problem with Romo is the season he broke out ('06?) he had that disastrous hold that cost them a playoff game in Dallas against the Seahawks. That has followed him around for his whole career and every time he does something wrong, Dallas fans are so quick to jump against him.

  6. Orioles-Nationals series starts tomorrow with both teams in first place for obviously the first time since the poorly named Beltway Series (there's 2 beltways and neither team plays very close to them, Parkway Series is more apropriate) began being held. I'm excited to see how many sellouts both DC and Baltimore can get.

Also, on the note of Baltimore, it's great to see the O's beat up on the subpar and mediocre tfeams on the schedule for the first time since the nice run at the start of 05. They're likely playing their best ball now and will slow down/slump at some point but it's truly been a blast the first quarter of the year. I've never had so much fun as an Oriole fan as I have had the last few weeks. 81 wins this year would be enough for me to pop some champagne and celebrate.

But alas we've still got a long year ahead of us, lack of depth among starting pitchers, and nobody at the corner infield positions.

You mean Chris Davis and Mark Reynolds doesn't cut it for you? .

    :lmao: .

  7. I hate how the stories are already coming out about how Tony Romo will be a leader this year. I swear we've had this same build up for the past four or five seasons. Romo is NOT the problem, and I think with Mo Claiborne and Brandon Carr, we helped shore up our real inefficiencies.

If DeMarco Murray and Miles Austin can stay healthy, we'll be competitive in the NFC East. Not gonna say we'll win the division cause it's gonna be insanely tough this year.

  8. I really wanna see Washington soon. I had taken a trip up there last year with my dad to see Washington, Baltimore and Philly, but the whole earthquake/hurricane thing threw off our plans.

Seeing Strasburg AND Harper in the same game would be awesome.
