For predictions. I'll post mine when I'm not on a phone.

EDIT: I had the 4/5 match-ups switched in each conference.

I know all the attention in the football world is on the draft this week, but this is huge. No more Big Least teams getting in on technicality. It's big news for a team like Boise State who should get more of a BCS look, but didn't due to 8-5 team's like UConn getting in.

Good news for TCU, who got out of that conference before they even played a game.

  3. Spurs went 4-0 over the Grizzlies this season. I don't think the Grizzlies stand a chance against the Spurs this year. They are on everyone's radar this year and won't shock anyone in the playoffs. I would love to be wrong and see them oust the Spurs again, but I don't see it happening.

The one thing the Spurs have going against them this season is their lack of defensive intensity. That used to be their staple and what won them four NBA titles. Now they score 116 points a game and rely more on depth than a prototypical 7-8 man rotation.

But who knows? The Spurs won each of their titles under the radar, and I think their experience would give them the edge against the Heat in a potential Finals matchup.

  4. Spurs clinch the number one seed in the West. The Jazz aren't nearly as talented as the Grizzlies were last year, and I can't see them beating the Spurs. As much as I hate to say it, I won't be surprised by a Spurs/Lakers WCF and a Heat/??? ECF with a Spurs/Heat Finals.

  5. I'm not one to call out a cheating AI, but The Show may be the worst case of it. We swept the Tigers in the ALDS. Get to the ALCS and in our first three games, our incredibly good pitching staff gives up eleven, thirteen, and eleven runs. In each game, the White Sox have scored five runs in the first inning. It's not even giving us a realistic chance. What's the fun in playing all season (which I did) only to get cheated out of the playoffs. I may take some time away from this after we get swept out of the playoffs.

Why did you play all the regular season games but sim the ALCS?

  6. Not sure if this is a relevant question for this topic, but what do you think about Mike Moustakas in an eight team fantasy league? Do you think he'd be strong enough to at least garner some trade interest in the middle of the season? I'm loaded at the corners with Cabrera, Votto, Longoria and Teixeira, but could use him or one of the others as trade bait to get me an upgrade in the middle infield positions.

  7. It's really not that bad right now. If you go during June-July, you'll have a death wish if you go to a day game. A night game is actually really nice, best place to sit is first base side.

Also, if you can score tickets for the home run porch in right field, it's all you can eat seats. So if you spend $30 on the ticket, you'll make your money back real fast.

  8. Joe Flacco, proving why jocks can't be lawyers. I get what he was trying to say, and he was cornered into answering the question that way. But instead of saying "one of the best" he said "THE best" and will get mocked for it. He's in the market for a contract and his agent knows Flacco's not getting all that much compared to other QB's in the league because despite the wins he doesn't have a lot else going for him. So obviously the PR campaign his agent has running is to simply say "I win, that's the only stat that matters" which is naturally the smartest way to go about it. I applaud the confidence, I would never want anybody on my team saying "I'm just okay". Ozzie Newsome even said as much. I'd want everyone to think they can be the best at what they do. But it draws unnecessary attention to the team. Then again, Eli made a similar statement and won a ring.

At least he's not being Captain Insecurity about it though. "Waaaah I was picked 199th I must not be that good." We got it Tom, you just want attention. This story will likely go away after Rex Ryan says something even stupider next week though.

This sentence is funny for a couple of reasons. :shifty: .
