  1. Was Spider-Gwen the only new book to come out of Spider-Verse? It seemed like they were setting up for Mayday to get one.

Mayday's story will continue in the Secret Wars event, I believe the Spider team from the end of Spider-Verse will have their spin-off. Spider Island, I think? You could also argue that Silk's book also came out of Spider-Verse, even though she had shown up before the event itself.

  2. Jesus what the fuck happened to Invincible? That sounds terrible

    Long story short...

Anissa raped Mark after a brutal battle between the two, because despite Mark's dad giving orders for the Viltrumites to repopulate their people with half-human babies, she tought human men were below her and Mark was available. It was depicted very brutally and "in-your-face", and it was done in a way that left no uncertainty about whether it was rape or not. She also left the menace of coming back for more in the air because one time probably wouldn't be enough.

I don't know how much of this is true (by that I mean the Deadpool movie being rated R), but it's a nice little clip, and you get to see Deadpool's costume by the end of the video.

  4. Nathan Fillion's love letter to The Walking Dead:

If you are looking for a recap of the last episode, you are going to be disappointed. There are no tidbits or insights about “What do you think this character will do?” here. This is a love letter.

Let’s talk about entertainment. Some television I watch for the escape, and some, for the journey. The difference being is whether this show is distracting me, or can this piece of work suspend disbelief and transport me to a realm of “what if.” I certainly won’t tune in next week if I don’t care about what happens next. Give me a story that has me asking what I’d do in that same situation. Let me be concerned for characters I’ve come to know, watch them learn and grow, or stagnate and fail. Let me hate them, let them disappoint me. Let me see them make choices shaped by their experiences.

When I really sink into a program, it transcends the typical watching at home alone experience. I want to share it, to gather my friends. I have beverages and food, sometimes in the theme of the show. It becomes an event. We revel in the excitement of having waited all week, chatting about parts that moved us, predicting what will happen next and why we think so. I bring new people who have never seen the show into the fold, and I see the excitement grow inside them just from being surrounded by others who are already swept away. We gather in front of the TV and dim the lights. Everyone finds a comfortable position, we make our last minute jokes and comments, and then—silence. The show begins. The waiting is over. The week spent talking about the last episode is over. The anticipation is satiated. The journey continues.

We spend commercial breaks hooting, gasping, and commenting, positively or negatively, it doesn’t matter. What matters is that we are being made to feel. Emotions are welling up from nothing—nothing but a well-crafted story.

Thank you, Walking Dead. Thank you for enduring the heat in Atlanta. Thank you for the sacrifice of displacing yourselves from your homes. Thank you, cast and crew, writers and producers, casting and costumes. Thank you, make up and hair departments, PA’s and all the artists who play walkers. All of you, thank you.

For those of you who have not yet seen The Walking Dead, you don’t have to be interested in the apocalypse. You needn’t enjoy wondering about how you’d survive if society, commerce, infrastructure, and civilization stopped. You don’t even have to like thinking about defenses against zombies to enjoy good storytelling…

    but it helps.

  5. The AOU spoiler is nothing but good news.

Scarlet Witch is way too OP in the comics. A simpler set of powers is probably better.

This is purely speculation on my part, but

since they say in the video that she plays with the Avengers' minds, with their fears, couldn't she actually end up being the catalyst for the Civil War? The effects of her powers lasting long enough on Iron Man that, while he's able to put his fears of super-humans going rampant to the side for the greater good against Ultron, not being able to do so in the next Cap movie?

Could be interesting if that was the case, I think.

  6. I forget her name, the brunette lady who was with Eugene most of the episode. She had a crush on Glenn until she realised Maggie was okay.

Wasn't Tara a lesbian? Wasn't she the sister of the girl the Governor got together with who, in turn, got together with another woman?

    EDIT: Yeah, she is.

Also, I was coming in to post the same thing as Srar.

Has anyone in the group died in such a violent, explicit death? The ones I remember being the closest were T-Dog (throat ripped off, I think) and Dale (gutted by a walker), but I honestly can't remember any death being this bad. Damn, I actually liked Noah.

  7. Well, yeah, out of the two currently ongoing in Ultimate Comics... of which he's in both. The comic is doing alright, it sells more than enough to not be in danger of cancellation, but it's not exactly doing Rocket Raccoon numbers.

There are two ongoing Ultimate comics? Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man is one, which is the other? I can only think of All-New Ultimates, but that one's already done.

  8. I have a feeling that if they kill Parker right after acquiring him, there'd be a big backlash, both from comic book fans and non-comic book fans. The comic book fans would be pissed off because they killed off Peter Parker who is probably as beloved as any comic book character not named Bruce Wayne, and the non-comic book fans are only familiar with Peter and would be wondering why they killed him when he just appeared.

Didn't he die shortly after the civil war anyway? I didn't watch the ASM movies, but is there anything stopping them from using those movies as canon, aside from not wanting to use Garfield?

Not that I recall, after the Civil War his marriage got retconned as well as his new powers, and that was it, I think. It took a while for him to die and be replaced with Ock.

  9. Oh, early to mid 90s anime, your dubbing is so awful :( .

    (Watching Tenchi Muyo...)

I rewatched the OVAs recently (about November - December, maybe, can't remember) and jeez, I believe it's the worst dub I ever heard. It was actually my first time watching it since I bought the OVA DVDs (I had only watched it through... other means), and I'll admit I'm not a fan of dubbing, but I like to sometimes change the audio just to compare the voices and voice acting. I really couldn't believe it was so damn awful, it's even worse than the Portuguese dubs (the first Tenchi show I watched was Tenchi Universe, shown here in Portugal, and it was actually a very good dub, making it the exception to the rule).

  10. I know he's too old for the part and he already was in another MCU movie, but thanks to Mike Deodato's stint in Dark Avengers and Thunderbolts, whenever I think about Norman, Tommy Lee Jones instantly comes to mind <_<

  11. Since I have no idea how to embed twitter posts, I'll just say fuck it and put the link in the news:

Bryan Singer has announced that Sophie Turner is the new Jean Grey, Alexandra Shipp is the new Storm and Tye Sheridan is the new Cyclops for X-Men Apocalypse.

I have never seen absolutely anything with these actors (upon further inspection, I see Sophie Turner is Sansa Stark, but I've never watched GoT, only read the books), but I just hope they're better used than in the other movies (mostly Cyclops and Storm, Jean was excellently used in X2 and horribly botched in X-Men 3, but still, one good movie is better than nothing, which is what Storm and Cyke have).

  12. This is frustrating. I'm still somewhat of a newbie to PS4, so I may be overlooking something really simple, but hopefully someone can help me with this.

I purchased the Hogan DLC for WWE 2k15 from the PSN website. Now, it says I've acquired the pack both in the PSN store (via the PS4) and the Online Store (via the game), as well as the website. But there's no "download" button on the PSN store nor on the online store, and whenever I try to download it via the website, it just stays there processing and doesn't actually start downloading. I also tried to check if there was anything unlocked, but there's no Hogan on the "downloaded superstars" section. Any tips?
