  1. I'm going to six festivals this summer with the potential for two or three more because I can't get enough of festivals, yet I'd never want to go to Glastonbury - it just looks way too big. What's the point of walking forty minutes to get from one stage to another, only to see an act dodging 15m flags and looking like ants?

Now Bestival, that looks like fun.

  2. I occasionally buy on iTunes, but only if it's something that's exclusive to iTunes (they have a lot of live sets/"Originals" type things) or if I need to get an album for a review quickly and don't have the time to go to a CD shop.

I much prefer buying the physical CD and ripping to MP3/Flac etc.

  3. They have Ski Resorts in Australia?

    Hardy ha.

    I'm serious?

I love skiing. Never thought of Australia as a hot spot.

Oh it's not a hot spot but yes, some states in the south/south-east of Australia have mountains and those mountains are high enough for real snow to fall on.

Perisher Blue Ski Resort at the Snowy Mountains in New South Wales is the big ski mountain, with Thredbo in NSW, Mt Buller and Falls Creek in Victoria being the others.

  4. That's a pretty bitching line-up. No matter what, do not allow yourself to miss Silver Apples; they (well, he) played last year's ATP Nightmare Before Christmas and he was as good as the band ever were (which is very good indeed), and easily one of the most fun parts of the whole festival. Between Silver Apples, Nick Cave, Spiritualized, Fuck Buttons and The Saints that is going to be absolutely superb.

Will do - I'm going to try and check out the other artists music in the coming weeks. I'm really looking forward to seeing Fuck Buttons, Afri-Rampo, The Saints and Spiritualized (in a quiet setting finally) and know the additions over the next few weeks will get better.

  5. The Sounds of Young America and Jordan, Jesse. GO! are my daily podcasts out of the pure volume of episodes they release - check them out at maximumfun.org

Other then that I like This Week In Tech (twit.tv), Big Poker Sundays (pokerroad.com), Gordon Gartrell Radio (gordongartrellradio.com) and the Live Concerts from NPR's All Songs Considered (npr.org).

  6. I was thinking about going to this earlier in the year, but given that ATP are going to have their own Australian festival (curated by Nick Cave & ATP, rumoured first artist is Public Enemy playing ..Nation Of Millions..) I might just do the SXSW/Coachella double.

  7. I saw it a few days back.. it was funny but not laugh out loud funny like Superbad was. The film was well acted (and it was nice to hear Mila Kunis not using her annoying yelling voice for a change) but the story just seemed to be lacking something.

Wow, that's pretty nice. What's the crowd usually like at T - people who are into the bands or people who spend £200 on a ticket in order to spend £150 at the bar?
