  1. well, it looks like the Mich St bellyflop is coming early this year .... go Illinois For being such a good coach, why does Charlie Weiss allow Walker (a back without great speed and agility) to continually try to go outside ? How did BYU beat TCU ? When ESPN has a blowout on both main channels, why do they only show 'bonus coverage' on one and stay with the blowout on the other ? Why isn't Navy in the Big East ? (Army too for that matter) and add too that, why doesn't the Big East make ND become a football member as well, or take away their memebership in all other sports ?
  2. Everyone is underestimating Arkansas. They have the most experienced team in the NCAA in terms of returning starters. They've got 18 of them. That's amazing. The kids in Hogville know the deal, and they can play a little ball too. I really doubt they're done beating people this year. If McFadden had played in the USC game, it might have gone differently.
  3. He's obviously no match for Isiah Stanbach ..... although, I like the change to UCLA's unis Oh, and someone that knows some D3, nice .... TLU baybay ! I played there, so I'm partial to the American Southwest Conference
  4. Spoken a bit too soon perhaps. I should say Steve Emtmen more often. ...... STEVE EMTMEN
  5. I was never really a fan, but officially fuck ND. This is the third week in a row they're going to fuck me, so fuck them. Each year there is a team that does this to me, and this year it's them. Sure, this game is far from over (as ND just scored) but this kind of play is going to continue all year. Fuck the leps.
  6. see, now that argument is valid beyond all belief, and I agree with the fact that many positions are dismissed in consideration ... Steve Emtman should have Heisman Trev Alberts and Tony Mandarich also should have been at least in the top 5 ....
  7. The NFL career of someone is in NO WAY an indication of whether or not their winning the Heisman is justifiable. The Heisman is about being the best playern in COLLEGE for THAT PARTICULAR YEAR. are you saying that Andre Ware didn't deserve it because he ate ass in the pros ? Danny Wuerfful ? Crouch ? Wienke ? Jason White ? Salaam ? Toretta ? Charlie Ward ? I guess they are all reasons that the Heisman is a joke then right ? Absolutely not. The Heisman is there to recognize the collegiate success of the football player, not predict his pro career. It's a crapshoot as to whether or not someone will make a good pro, Heisman winner or not. Hell, I loved seeing Woodson win it because he was an ATHLETE, not just a position player. Sure, there's debate too it and all that jazz, but just because somone won the Heisman and then didn't pan out, that doesn't mean that the Heisman is a joke or that they didn't deserve it.
  8. While I absolutely love Fresno and Boise, they're so sheltered in the WAC it's ridiculous. Sure, I love seeing them destroy a 'high profile' every year, but I doubt they could play a full 'BCS conference' schedule. Because of the everyday competition they face, it's easy for them to 'step up' once a year, but at their current state I doubt they could do an 11-14 game season at that level. That's why I want to see Fresno in the Pac, and Boise in the MW. It would kick ass. Hell, I don't see how the Pac wouldn't want Fresno in. They'd get some of that coveted 'cred' they seek. Besides, BSU and FreSU won't ever be considered real deal as long as they are in the WAC.
  9. Yeah, the North's nosedive in the last 4 years has really hurt. At least though, schools such as K-State, Nebraska, and Colorado have had RECENT kick assedness. I actually like Iowa State, they have built a very solid program. If Boise St would go to the freakin Mountain West, then we could talk some business. With TCU and Colorado St. joined by the Smurf Turf boys, they'd be just as 'viable' of a BCS threat as the Big Least. Damn I'd love that. Of course, if I had my way, the conferences would be much more regional like they were 'back in the day'. You know, the SWC - Big 8 - Big Sky, etc. Oh, how far the golden years were ago.
  10. Amen to Bobby Petrino being one of the best coaches in D-1 ... I just can't help but weap for the Big East .... I mean seriously, you know your conference is in trouble when you're two highest profile schools (Miami, BC - sorry Syracuse) abandon for the ACC, AND drag along the 'hot new kid' on the block in VT. The conference itself is a fuck up really, ESPECIALLY with football. They allow Notre Dame to be a 'full' member and even wrote ND into the bowl contracts of the conference, BUT ND remains an independent ...... Yeah, bend over and take that .... Honestly, I don't see how the conference is even considered BCS worthy, when it has barely been over a decade that it has been a REAL football conference (football founded in 1991). VT wasn't a football member until 2001, Miami in 1993, WV in 1995. Barely a decade of solid comp. Yes, I know the Big 12 is on the lips of many of you to say the same things about. However, the Big 12 comprises a bevy of football rich schools, and comprises the majority of the major schools in one of the top three, if not the top football state (Texas). The Catholics have enough problems with their church, why'd they think they could form a collegiate athletic conference ? (that'll draw some ire !)
  11. colorado beat missouri on fifth down .... not CSU, they've not been in the same conference ever it was in the Big Eight .... anyway, bitching about the refs is pretty dumb at any rate ... people are human, they make mistakes. Just think about how many calls are done RIGHT, and how many are reviewd and changed CORRECTLY ... I'd love to see the ratio to correct and caught calls to incorrect and missed calls .... It's just the human element .... It's with the officials on the field as it is with the 22 players on the field and the coaches that call the play ... you wanna bitch about the refs, then bitch about the players that screwed up, and the coaches that screwed up too ... singling out the refs as the SOLE reason, and saying that THEY cost a team the game is just plain stupid. Blame the OU fg squad ... they let the kick get blocked with 2 seconds .... blame Jamarcus Russell for his three screw ups and for not throwing the ball into the end zone on the last play, or for throwing into double coverage on the 'should have been intereference call' .... Don't use the refs as a cop out, it's crap ....
  12. Oh yes, how impressive that ten point win over RICE <-- was. That bodes well for a team that still has to play Cal, UO, USC, ASU ..... As for the call in the Aub/LSU game .... as quoted from ESPN.com of course, they still had opportunities to win the game, but didn't. so are you saying that they needed that call to win the game ? what exactly does that say ? Tell your quarterback to throw the ball into the endzone, not to the 4 ...
  13. Biggzy ..... I say we hop on a plane and go get that sorry sack of shit Jeff Bowden We then tie him, gag him, and have him sodomized by the West Virginia fans ... when that's over, we take him to LA, where the University of Corpus Left on Ayers (sorry I mean) The University of California Lastly Admitted .... The UCLA fans can have their way with them
  14. I'm sure Ashlee Simpson headlines ...
  15. Is anyone else annoyed by the fucking clock rules this year ? I REALLY noticed it in the Fresno/Oregon game.
  16. I'm sure your take on Colorado is a good mixture of both. Losing to 1-AA .... BAD, however I still feel that while Baylor is playing EXTREMELY better football, they have a little ways to go to actually get out of the cellar. Having played college ball though, I can absolutely see how an upper tier 1-AA school can beat a 1-A school. I know the majority of you that read this are going to destroy that comment, but nonetheless .... it is very plausible and obviously very possible. As for Darby ... I dunno what the hell is going on. I loved watching him last year ...
  17. meh, I'm a Stewert fan so this is going to blow for me ..... I'll be going for Kahne or Bush I guess ......
  18. I agree with the SEC, but in the last 5 years, its a toss as too who is number 2 ..... big 10 - ACC both could be argued ..... I'd have to judge a conference by its WORST team .... because I feel you're only as strong as the bottom .... ACC has Duke ... OUCH Big 12 - Baylor - yeah, no comment needed big East - take your pick Big 10 - Illinois, SEC - Miss St, Kentucky and so on
  19. Honestly I think that's their biggest problem .... trying to 'play up' to their past. The ACC has a hard time getting the rep in football because FSU dominated the conference from day 1 of entering it ..... everyone forgot that GaTech, Clemson, and UVA were GOOOOD at that time. As much as they've hurt it though, I feel that FSU has helped raise the level of the conference (see NCSTATE - CLEMSON for immediate reference). The additions of VaTech and UM are helping to dispell the 'basketball conference' stigmata. The ACC did though, have 8 of the twelve teams get to bowls, going 5-3 I hate though trying to figure out which conference is the best because it is all relative and subjective. Hard to have a debate when the subject matter isn't uniform. So instead, I'd rather just try to show that the ACC is probably a better football conference than most would think.
  20. no comp ? hhmmmm ..... Clemson, Va Tech, Miami all ranked in the top 25, GaTech and BC in the top 30 .... last year the ACC had 5 teams in the top 25 BCS rankings, tied with the Big 10 for most ..... There is PLENTY of comp the only thing they aren't doing is playing up to THEIR standards ... the D is amazing on anyone's standards ..... the only reason that everyone is down on them is because only FSU fans still have the 'name recognition' that you're used too
  21. FSU done ? Please, EVERY YEAR they slop a win out at home (see UAB) ... And Biggz, please don't get me started on Jeff needing to be GONE as of 3-4 years ago. It's so painful. They've overcome despite him, and this year will be no different. Story of the game against Troy, was FOUR turnovers for the Noles. 7 of Troy's points came off of a 31 yard drive. That, and FSU played like shit against the pass. Texas will lose another, if not two more games.
  22. I'm screwed out of cable right now, so I am deeply sad at the moment. I did just buy season 1 for 20$ so that is a little bit of solice.
  23. yeah so this is for movies, but screw that ..... a huge injustice was done to one of the most bad ass movie characters ever ... BOBA FETT ! He's a freakin bad ass and was only made more so by the releasing of the ACTUAL first three star wars movies ... How is he killed ? A half-blind, trying to make a funny part in the movie Haan Solo bumps his jetpack which sends him flying into the side of Jabba's party barge. From there he falls into the Bantha ......... Absolute shit absolutely.
