  1. Henry was due an 8.3 million bonus, and the Titans were not going to pay him that.
  2. Wes Welker is going to be signed by the Pats to a 7 year 38.5 mil offer sheet...if the dolphins decline to match they get the Pats 2nd rounder.
  3. The Bears are retarded....not giving Lovie Smith legit money, which will probably end up costing themselves a great HC after next season. They should just pay the man, he clearly deserves it.
  4. That wouldn't make any sense - Merriman's in the AFC.
  5. The Bears were kidding themselves if they ever thought theyd win with Grossman at QB, this has to show them they need an upgrade at QB...hell, even their backup is an upgrade over Grossman....but either way, congrats to the Colts.
  6. I dont think the Indians are that far off...They played very well in the 2nd half again, and made some nice moves to improve the weakness of the team, the bullpen. They have a very solid lineup and a good starting rotation, so you can't count them out...although the AL Central is the best division in baseball.
  7. I personally think the Cubs spent 300 mil to finish below 3rd place again...they aren't a whole lot better than they were last year, IMO.
  8. Definitely agree, my favorite show on TV...worth the buy
  9. He made the single worst coaching decision of all time, when he had a playoff spot locked up and benched doug flutie to rest him for the playoffs in week 17, then when the playoffs began kept rob johnson as the starter instead of flutie, despite the fact flutie was the starter all year and got them there.
  10. That's what I'm thinking as well. In fact, I hope Garrett does get the HC job eventually, but not yet. Wade Phillips would be a good choice for the HC job.

2k7 owns bad....and this is coming from an EA fanboy...havent played madness yet though.
  12. Brian Billick will definitely get fired now...you don't lose this game and keep your job after you've been on the hotseat for a few years, regardless of regular season success.
  13. Nobody wants to play Boise at Boise, because they havent proven they deserve to get a home game against a big team...they need to start scheduling big time games on the road and prove they belong, then they will start to get respect and then have a shot to play for the title...until then, it wont happen.
  14. Boise doesnt deserve a shot until they start scheduling good teams on their schedule, not 1a cupcakes and 1aa teams.
  15. Good deal for Philly, Miller is a solid PG, Smith is expiring and they got 2 1st's, can't ask for much more....Horrible deal for Denver, Melo and AI is about the worst combo you can put together and will cause serious chemistry problems.
  16. Buster Olney says if Wells hits the market next year he would get at least 150 mil, maybe around 200 mil...so he might decline that offer.
  17. Comparing Troy Smith to Vince Young is a horrendous comparison...they are completely different players. The best comparison i've seen for Smith is Drew Brees....both very similar college players, other than Smith running more earlier in his career, both around 6'0, both can make all the throws and have good accuracy.
  18. Go pickup a copy of SI and read their playoff format....it is really good and interesting.
  19. My stance is this: You keep the four BCS bowls as is. Rose, Fiesta, Orange and Sugar, all played as they've always played with the same teams they'd always have (Pac-10 v. Big Ten in the Rose Bowl, for example). Instead of giving one of them a national title game, or instead of taking 2 teams out of them to put in a separate game, you do this: Rose Bowl winner plays Fiesta Bowl winner at *insert bowl site here* Orange Bowl winner plays Sugar Bowl winner at *insert other bowl site here* Winner of Rose/Fiesta v. Winner of Orange/Sugar for national title at *insert third bowl site here* The bowl sites I mentioned would rotate throughout the stadiums the non-BCS bowl games are played in. Rose/Fiesta/Orange/Sugar Bowl-located fans have had those great bowl games and national championship games for years; spread the love to the other bowl-hosting cities.
  20. It is a decent idea, but it will NEVER happen like that....too many games for teams to play.
  21. Agreed...giving Tressel 40 days to prepare for an opponent is just too easy for him...Look at past BCS appearances.
  22. http://www.latimes.com/sports/college/foot...-home-headlines There isn't going to be a rematch. No. 1 Ohio State will play No. 2 Florida, not Michigan, for the Bowl Championship Series national title on Jan. 8 in Glendale, Ariz. According to a BCS source, Florida moved from fourth to second today ahead of No. 3 Michigan in the final BCS standings. An official announcement will come this evening in a televised unveiling on Fox. The news means that USC will play Michigan, not Louisiana State, in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1. LSU had pre-sold more than 42,000 tickets in advance of making its first-ever Rose Bowl appearance, but UCLA's upset win over previously No. 2 USC on Saturday, coupled with Florida's win over Arkansas in the Southeastern Conference championship game, changed the final pairings. The BCS bowl lineup is now expected to be: Rose: USC vs. Michigan. Sugar: Notre Dame vs. LSU. Orange: Louisville vs. Wake Forest. Fiesta: Oklahoma vs. Boise State. Florida's jump over No. 3 Michigan, which was idle Saturday and has not played since a three-point loss to No. 1 Ohio State on Nov. 18, likely will cause more uproar in BCS circles. This will mark the fifth time in the nine-year history of the BCS that there has been controversy involving the title-game participants. In the end, enough voters in the Harris Interactive and USA Today coaches' polls moved Florida to No. 2, ahead of Michigan, on their final ballots. Ohio State Coach Jim Tressel released a statement today saying he did not vote in the final coaches' poll to avoid the perception of a conflict of interest. "After consultation with my director of athletics, Gene Smith, and based on our unique position in the BCS standings, I believe it is only fair that we not participate (in) the final poll," Tressel said in a statement. Michigan and Florida each finished the regular season with one loss, on the road. Michigan was 11-1 with its defeat at Ohio State, while 12-1 Florida lost at Auburn. Florida picked up 66 points on Michigan in the coaches' poll and finished with a 26-point advantage. Bring on Florida, if/when we beat them that will be a very impressive season for us.
