  1. I'm guessing Axl did nothing for years and years, Dr. Pepper offer him a free drink, he then writes and records the whole album in a few weeks.

Those previous leaks were his attempt to get Haribo.

  2. The Wii has its own individual friend code, while each game has their own you have to use.

I'm quoting this to moan about Ninty's lame ass way of things. Its such a fucking pain to have to enter in a code for every game (admittedly I've only done the Wii console & PES so far, but still annoying) and then have to wait for them to enter your code. Such an annoying time consuming process.

Having said that I'll probably getting myself this on Friday. Love meself a little bit of red shelling.

  3. Dunno if its been mentioned yet, but I ain't trawling through 6 pages of arguments about whether Van Halen are a one hit wonder or not (they're not), but...

Norman Greenbaum- Spirit in the Sky

Doctor & the Medics- Spirit in the Sky

and while I'm here may as well throw in...

Gareth Gates- Spirit in the Sky

  4. gah, sooooo annoying. Fuck off indie kids, watch Bloc Party whenever you like. I want me some Rage.

  5. I never got the point of changing the name either.

    Especially to something retarded.

Well, Richard Branson sold it, presumably to a company named Zaavi.

First: Eminem- The Slim Shady LP

Last: Led Zeppelin- Led Zeppelin IV (or whatever its actually called)

  6. I just learned Mike Patton was one of the people originally considered for lead.

    WANT.

The thing is, though, would Patton want to get into major label politics again after the trouble he had with Faith No More's later stuff and now with an indie label like Ipecac on the frontburner for him?

It would be awesome, but I honestly see the GnR guys seeing Patton as beneath them, and funnily enough Patton presumably thinking the same thing after the two VR records.

Yeah, Patton's already turned them down for what I can imagine him describing them as being 'Glam Rock shit.' My favourite Patton being asked into a band story is the one about INXS. He agreed as long as he could always wear a noose. They weren't down with that. Guess they found it insensitive.

  7. There has been tons of controversy lately about Madonna's entry into the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame. Rightfully so. If your genre of music isn't even remotely close to within an inch of rock then you, honestly, don't belong in the HOF and should stray away from it at all costs. I won't doubt her success or consistency, her album sales, I won't doubt any of it. She is definitely an artist to remember, but just doesn't belong in the HOF. It is a ROCK Hall Of Fame, and it should stay that way.
  8. So, Black Francis' new mini-album Svn Fngrs is the best thing I've heard this year so far. Go buy it. And Black Mountain's In The Future. Go download Santogold's L.E.S. Artistes and avoid anything by The Audition.

    :)

    That track's on NHL '08, but I can't remember if it's one I liked or not :/
