  1. I fucking knew symonds would fall short of his century, no matter how much i willed it, unlucky. I agree about the LBWs, there must have been at least three that should have gone pakistans way, then again, they did drop three catches in the field (maybe more?). I'm glad Clarke got out for a low score, maybe that'll take some pressure off, since he'd been going insanely well lately, combined with his Alan Border Medal victory, everyone had huge expectations for him, maybe now people will realise the guys' human. Who got man of the match? I didnt see the end, i hope it was symonds, he played really well, Inzy is in killer form too, he's probably been the most consistent batter in the tournament.

  2. Hmmm beside from Reggae/Dub which everyone probably should have gathered already :P i also have to admit to being a Norah Jones fan, i'm also into electronica like Crystal Method, Vangelis, Asian Dub Foundation (do they count?), various types of heavy metal, particularly thrash & death metal, The Haunted, Brujeria, old-school Sepultura, Nailbomb, Devolved, and Isis, anyone heard of them? No idea what catergory of metal they'd go into. I also like Bjork, not sure what genre she would be classed as either. And thanks to the GTA games, i'm starting to get more into rap as well, Ruff Ryders, NWA, Ice-Cube, stuff like that.

I'm also a big fan of 70s folk, namely bob dylan, and psych-rock, The Doors, The Beatles, John Lennon, and um, that's all i can think of at the moment :)

  3. The problem has nothing to do with genres. The fact is, rock music isnt as popular as it used to be, it's not as mainstream as it once was, rock music doesnt define the present generation like it has for previous generations. Hip-Hop & R&B are the most popular forms of music with the youth of today. Rock isnt dead, it's just not the centre of popular music anymore, it's not 'cool' like it was in previous decades. Who knows how the landscape will change in the future, rock will probably have a revival, but at the moment, Hip-Hop and R&B are dominating the popular music scene, artists from those genres get pushed more on MTV than bands/artists from any other genre.

  4. This thread is gonna lead to flame-city, but hey, who gives a fuck? (ie. my next sentence >_> ) Yes, Good Charlotte ARE complete poser twat/wannabes, but what else is new in the world of pop-music!?

Live, on the other hand are a very good band, i thought everyone knew about them? I've never heard any one say anything bad about them either, a very inoffensive lot.

In terms of my picks, hmm... This is hard since most of the music i listen to is dated, and hence people dont bother to shit on it (not that they would of heard of most of the bands, see sig, but hey), let's see....

-Sepultura? I've even warmed slightly to their most recent album after swearing off the post-Max line-up. Im a die-hard 'old-school' Sepultura fan, ie. anything from Roots on back i think is great, but i have always HATED derek green, his vocals really are complete shit compared to Maxs' in my opinion. Wait a minute, i'm criticising the band im complaining about other people criticising... Ok, how about, 'old' Sepultura? They seem to get no love whatsoever, at least from people i know.

-The White Stripes? I mean, not 'everyone' criticises them, but i've heard alot.

  5. Sounds good VP, i'll check em' out, i think you may have mentioned this before, i may be making that up though, i cant completely remember, but (i think) you said good things about them before, and i've been thinking about checking out some of their music but never got around to it, so thanks for the reminder (Y)

  6. I saw it with low expectations and i really enjoyed it, lots of classic stuff, Napoleons older brother was hilarious, i like his heavy breathing and just the general quirkiness of his character (and the other characters too), good stuff.

  7. I'm really enjoying this so far Naiwf, this is the first diary of yours that i've read, so i didnt really know what to expect, although you've said this is more brief than your usual diaries... Anyway, i think the backstage news, stuff about your TV deals etc. add a lot to the feel of the diary, i know that sounds cliche, but it is interesting, and reading your diary is helping me with my stats update! hehe. Im glad Yoshida is your first La Reina de WMF(~!), she was the best choice, do you watch much Joshi? I cant tell, which is a good thing, as you dont look out of your element.

I had to "cheat" and give all of my English speaking female workers the ability to speak Japanese and vice versa for if/when I run outside of Japan.
