Zay Flowers isn't going to go quietly into the night.
Fuuuuck, not like this.

Hamilton is keeping the Ravens alive. But if we can't have a good drive, I don't see how much the defense can keep holding. They must be getting tired.

Absolutely cannot let KC score again this half with them coming out in the 3rd with the ball.
Kyle Hamilton forcing a three and out helps.

Lamar is Mr. Perfect. He just caught his own pass!

I know already this game will do me in. Mahomes is getting everything he wants and is at his most unstoppable, that throwaway that Kelce somehow got back to catch was absurd.

I am of course a Ravens fan. But I am rooting against the chiefs to save the super bowl from having a million cuts to Taylor Swift and her absurdly sized entourage.

I think the rule changes in the past decade or so have helped a great deal in increasing pace of play and also protecting shooters. It's harder for shooters to draw fouls in some ways, but at the same time defenders are equally less allowed to play close up or else they send the shooter to the line.
It's become a scoring league more so than it has always been, strategies that were alien and novel like "8 seconds" 15 years ago are pretty much the norm now. Set plays, which some teams rarely play nowadays, are equally focused on speed with the defense being at a bigger disadvantage than ever with referees cracking down on running through screens or defending late.
And of course the fact that the quality of shooting has absolutely skyrocketed, Curry was the first domino and everyone afterwards seemingly have leapt beyond even further, step back and fadeaway threes are no longer risky low-percentage shots but for some the norm.
Average PPG is at 112.7 for this decade alone, whereas the 2010s had 102.2 and the 2000s had 96.9.
The last time basketball was this close in terms of points scored? the 80s where it was 109.3.
Just absolutely mental times we're living in, and I think the only thing that can really push the numbers down is if defenses are unleashed a bit more, but in an era of player safety that won't (and honestly shouldn't) happen.

Another terrible street circuit. Really hate the continuing "streetification" of the F1 calendar, especially seeing how a staple track in Barcelona is getting bumped off for it.

I gotta admit, I was worried after the first half ended 10-10, Texans might be the first team that managed to sack Lamar three times this year. Honestly, hats off to them for staying in it, because I felt the coverage was flaky at times, and the Texans pass block did a phenomenal job in giving Stroud all the time in the world to get his passes off.
But Lamar turned it on, that first TD by Jackson after the half pretty much sent the Texans into a downward spiral, and they never recovered whilst the Ravens defense turned it up and stepped up when they needed to. It felt like a 12 round boxing match, where the first six rounds were spent trying to condition the Texans, then the Ravens proceeded to bring all the nasty RPO, options and designated QB runs to completely mess them up.
I think if the Texans can get more disciplined on offense (11 penalties killed them down the stretch) and give Stroud a few more weapons on offense, they will become title contenders.

Wind chill of 3 in Baltimore this evening.
I would say that this greatly favors the Ravens because the Texans play in domes, but honestly, the Ravens also haven't played in frosty conditions all year.

I honestly wouldn't like to see it because the Pats are still smelly and stupid, and I like Mike Vrabel as a Head Coach. But him signing with the team he won three rings with would be a nice choice. Pats get a HC who made the playoffs three years in a row and is young to boot, so he's a good option to finally work towards a rebuild of the franchise.

I am very much a complete opposite on Falling Skies. Started as a somewhat generic but enjoyable Freedom Fighters Vs. Alien invaders concept. But later seasons became increasingly erratic, especially with the lead family drama being more and more the constant plot factor.
When the final (?) season had the magical alien/human hybrid who also happens to be related to the lead characters, I fully tuned out and gave up. It just became too much of a schlocky mess, even by sci fi standards.
Fwiw, I also saw it before I picked up The Walking Dead, so I never dealt with those comparisons.

Funny Gene Haas is complaining about having a third tier team, when he can barely be bothered to invest money into the team.
Honestly, Gunther isn't the best principal and there are probably better out there, but for years he's managed to build a respectable racing team on a shoestring budget and tinpot sponsorships, and it's always going to have a thankless end.
I wish his successor good luck, but I am hard pressed to expect them to make a leap up the table unless Gene Haas actually commits to it.

Pro bowl punter, except for the part he'll be suspended for half a season at least for following through into the nads of whoever is rushing him.

Since nothing seems to mention it. Stake is a crypto-currency based gambling site based out of noted business (and totally not tax and gambling haven) hotbed (/s) Curacao. So pretty much par for the course in terms of general legitimacy of your average F1 sponsor.

This is becoming a horror show for the Dolphins. Tua gets hurt, and now Chubb is on the ground clutching his knee. If there ever was a reason to just stop a game, this is probably one of those times to just end it here for everyone's sake.

Thought this drive would probably ruin his perfect rating for the game. But he's only further solidified it by going over 300 and getting his 5th touchdown.
Probably the best game I have seen of him all year, and it's not really close. Not even the Lions rout felt this dominant.
-
Well, that was a decent start of the second half. Dolphins defense completely in shambles now.
My man, Patrick Ricard!

Dolphins started strong, the offense still looked strong until the pick. But my god, Lamar and the rest of the team are absolutely cooking right now. Feels like they can't miss.

Well, I guess Roquan Smith has turned himself into a ballhawk in their absence with a wild one handed int.

Honestly, and it's probably because I was spoiled with watching Lamar's first MVP run. But as much as I would like that Lamar wins his second MVP, it doesn't really feel like a typical race to the MVP this year as far as QBs are concerned. Even with that duck of a game, Purdy is still ahead of all the other QBs by quite a way's off in terms of raw stats, and the 49ers are still the #2 team in the league behind the Ravens.
Lamar has been very solid throughout the year, no real shockers other than the two early season losses where he struggled a bit, but other than that he has managed to carry on and lead the team towards the important and dominant wins including last night and against the Lions earlier this year.
But... I don't see it, Purdy has been helped by an all round great offense with CMC behind him and Aiyuk/Deebo on the wing.
Honestly of all the choices, I would honestly have no issues if CMC gets it, he has been unreal this year and honestly it'd be nice for the voters to not always pick a QB. If there's any year, this is the one that has the strongest case for it.
And I would prefer it if CMC gets the MVP, so that Lamar can get the ring in February.

I feel terrible for Zay. He's going to get so much shit on him for that fumble into the endzone, but he absolutely balled out when most others didn't.
Honestly, and it's a big part on the Chiefs defense for going hard all game, but the offensive gameplan was never there from the first whistle, and it was all just hanging in there by the graces of Lamar and others making clutch plays, rather than a focused plan being executed.
There were very few designed runs, and for most of the second half it felt the Ravens were just going with four verts with no dynamic routes to pressure the zones. Really poor playcalling down the stretch.
