What sort of costs am I likely to be expecting to get a computer that is a FM/games akin to that beast?

Minus the screen, I built my first PC for circa £300 - £350. Its easily doable if you price check the parts your buying and you don't 'need' to go OTT. However it is in know way future proof and at that cost you'll end up replacing bits as time goes on. That being said, if its just for FM/Sim games and I'd say titles from what, 5 - 10 years ago you probably don't need a beast.

FM's big killer is the processor you use, and that's just for speed of loading screens/database etc.

If you go back a number of pages you'll see a similar thing happened to me. I was not pleased.

the frustrating thing is...a good number of the players now have 'spt' boxes next to them in the team screen...all with the same comment. 'Unhappy how I treated Jordan Willis' (the vice captain who complained. Which i don't understand because literally everyone walked out of the room happier at the end and I reassured everyone I was looking into the squad depth....Jordan even has a 'pleased squad depth has been addressed' on his player profile....

    Stupid game.

Cov's a real mess with the owners. Are they looking to sell etc?

Got a new chairman at the start of the season but nothing on a new owner yet I think.

The Ogogo transfer netted me around 750k in the transfer pot (tight gits) which I immediately pumped into increasing the wage bill cap. Shocked the shit out of me when we were 24th in the league for total salary (around £98k) with 23rd on something like £150k. 1st placed team was operating on like £600k.

Every time I've asked for funds for something they refuse on financial grounds, which is frustrating because I've not been damaging the finances with expenses wild expenses...sure i've paid for the odd language course...but that's been it. They just don't wanna hand anything out. I ASSUME that i'll need a new owner before that changes?

You can't see their 'personality' outside of the editor right?

  4. Started playing this monster of a game last month and after a few unintended long nights i'm just past the 2020 January transfer window. What a journey so far....one filled with SO much anger towards my players!

Took over a Coventry boss on the basis that...newly promoted and solid team but horrible finances would give me a bit of a challenge. Wildly inconsistent 1st season miraculously saw us win league one on the last day of the season, thanks to Brentford losing to the team placed 15th...woo! Started out low mid table until the last 2-3 months where we couldn't help but win almost every game. Okay..solid..fun..i'll take it.

1st Season in championship and the board refuses to give me transfer funds or hand me any additional cash for wages. Bit of a problem as I've signed my 'star' players to longer contracts and gave them a bump in wages. No problem i'll send a few players out on loans where the loan club can cover the salary (3 first team members went out on this to help me cut wages) and i'll sell the players i can afford to lose. 1st player sold...EVERYBODY GOES NUTS! vice captain demands to speak to me..with the WHOLE squad behind him saying we lack depth. Alright dick calm down...i'll sort it out..bring in a few backup/possible first team players.

Another wildly inconsistent start of the season where we lose 3, win 1 and draw 1 in the first 5 games...oh dear...relegation battle...6 months later....10th in the league.the squad just seems to go through periods of 2-3 loses in a row...before continually beating teams we shouldn't be (victories over 1st-5th in those 6 months). January has been super inconsistant with loses and wins, very few draws so I've been trying to reinforce the squad. Sold one of my best players Abu Ogogo for £2.5m and the players lose there collective shit again....

Coupled with the fact my players constantly complain about training...i'm just convinced there just a bunch of miserable moody f*ckers

    Spoiler

I really feel like quite a few of the events that occurred in this last episode would have played/appeared better if certain events that had occurred in earlier episodes had been held off until now.

My main example being Dany going mental and burning kings landing. Had Dany heard the bells and then looked towards the Red Keep only to THEN see Cersei standing with Missandei who she would then kill (the whole scene can play out exactly the same), would have been a much more acceptable reason for her to burn the city to the ground other than...ehh she's crazy now. It would have also played into Cersei being evil till the end and in the face of defeat taking something from her conqueror, finally 'breaking' Dany in the process.

I know this is just another fan going murrrhhh but my story makes more sense, but I feel like a lot of the story beats this season have been misplaced and I agree with the above comments about the writers feeling like they are rushing to the end just because they have other things they want to get to.

I feel like the issue has been how fast they wanted to finish the show. Having two full last seasons might have at least given them time to tell the story they want to tell. I'm not mad at where we ended up with some of these characters, but I hate how quickly we've gotten there.

Completely agree with this. 8 should have been dedicated to the North, culminating in the Battle for Winterfell and then 9 should be the Fight for the Iron Throne.

Right now, I would settle for a 'Status Quo' end to the show and ultimately after 8 years nothing has changed...everyone is back in there old position and miserable.

Watching the Inside the Episode, I've come to realize that Benioff and Weiss are just two dudes who are full of shit that got lucky they got to be in charge of this. I've still got hope for the spin-off series as they aren't involved in it (hopefully), but I hope HBO doesn't just make them a bunch of these big moment bullshit anymore. What a trash bunch of episodes ever since "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms".

That was 100% my takeaway from the 'Inside the Episodes' bits. I felt like.." Shit, fans might not like this....lets justify everything so we seem #Deep'

Kaepernick had as much of a case as anybody. He was 1 play away from winning a Super Bowl and we were supposed to believe that he wasn't in the top 64 QBs in a league that still somehow employs Garrett Gilbert and Matt Barkley.

The only reason he's not playing is because America is overrun by Trump fueled racist fucktards now and the NFL doesn't want to upset them. There's a lot "toxic" about the NFL but Colin Kaepernick is not one of them

Kaepernick to Miami? Open slot now Tannehill has gone and the Dolphins owner has that RISE charity? Also..surely Kaepernick (if we ignore peoples belief that he's toxic) is better pick than the rumored Ryan Fitzpatrick? 6 years younger and if he's a stop gap to drafting a QB in 2020 then your set?

Also lets not forget that the NFL owners settled with Kaepernick which although isn't an admission of guilt is pretty much a big 'Yes of course we blackballed him' because when have the NFL not fought a court case to the death...especially when they thought they could win.

@K Is Airiam dead, dead? No-one really dies in Star Trek, right? I guess it just never occurred to me that she was gone for good. I'm kinda bummed out if she is.

    Spoiler

I'm going to say yes based on how the episode ended. Though that probably doesn't mean the thing inside her is...as that would be a suitably Star Trek twist

Really, really enjoyed the last episode. I was very so-so during season 1, though it certainly picked up towards the end of the season. However, season two has been a delight from start to recent.

The Last Jedi is universally loathed

Alright...alright..easy there.... let's not defend it too much. it was still a pretty terrible film :P

Plus making $1.4b in the box office isn't really a true reflection of the films success or failure...anyway...off topic...how cute is the space monster cat!

If they lose Spider-Man at some point, I'd love to see them dive into the "Peter Parker got cloned and Jessica Drew is the female version of him" storyline from Ultimate Spider-Man

The rumour mill suggests that Sony? Someone else I cant recall...will be working on or have at least have tapped writers to do a 'Silk' movie at some point in the future which would be pretty cool.

Captain Marvel for me was a good, not great film.  Brie is AMAZING and a perfect fit for the character and I want to see her in MORE marvel films. I just didn't find the film itself as something to shout about, its certainly one of the best origin stories they've told though. I do think much like Black Panther, these films suffer when the hype is so geared towards the 'FIRST OF ITS KIND' narrative that the film gets judged less on its merits of a well told and well-shot story and more on the 'message' that it is sending or trying to send (which isn't a bad thing, diversity isn't so bad).

  12. If I had to make a list of Animes i've been watching on Netflix that i'd recommend to others..top 5so far...

    In no the particular order:

Saiki-K - Fun day in the life series of the worlds most powerful psychic and his pretty normal friends. (Fun things we learn...Saiki is the reason Japan is full of bright colourful hair).

Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood - Really good series with a nice balance of storytelling and action. (Fun things we learn...never have a child and be an alchemist 😥)

B: The Beginning - I'm not that many episodes into this show however it's pretty good so far. Good artwork and good fight scenes. (Fun things we learned...being the silent angry type...gets you a lead role)

AOT - I don't think I really need to say much about this. You should just watch it. (Fun things we learned...find someone who loves you like Mikasa loves Eren)

Bleach - Really enjoyed the story being told but some episodes do feel like they drag. (Fun things we learned..."bwahhahaha!")

Seriously, DS9 is my favorite Trek show...to the point I give the entire series a full watch on Netflix once a year.  Trying to rank a Top 10 is nearly impossible

I'm currently going through my 'Voyager Year' atm, I've reached season 4 and I forgot how much I enjoyed it. Next up is DS9 again!

What's this about a  "hate" thread?

Samurai Cop (1991) - A Lethal Weapon knock off where the Riggs proxy is apparently some sort of Samurai but also a COP. He fights a Japanese gang who are... doing something. Also there is a lot of very skimpy bathing suits for men and women. "Katana, it means Japanese sword." is an actual line of dialogue.

Fatal Deviation (1998) - A man is released from... prison? And goes home to re-start his life but then gets mixed up with gangsters and monks that hold a no hold's barred fighting tournament for some reason! Not only is it Ireland's first (only?) martial arts movie - it features Mikey Graham from Boyzone and was filmed in the same locations as part of Braveheart!

    you saw nothing....

Samurai Cop is amazing because the dudes hair is so on point...those wonderful police offiver locks.

    Fatal Deviation

    Spoiler

Image result for Nicola O'Sullivan fatal deviation

The Irish is strong in this'un

  15. What are some awful films you can't help but enjoy? Can be any genre, any time period and in any language.

Lets not spoil stuff and just go with a brief synopsis instead. (I might aswell go first)

Vampires: Los Muertos - sequel to the slightly more awesome 'John Carpenters: Vampires' the film basically see's Jon Bon Jovi travel across mexico hunting vampires where he'll ultimately fall in love an almost vampire....but can he save her...and stop the menace!

The Blob (1988) - Cold war weapons grade goo returns to earth and consumes townsfolk in rural california (is that even a thing) on its apparent quest for food and vengeance (to of the best things to be on a quest for really). Features some pretty spectacular 80's horror effects. (including the most awesome movie death - man gets head sucked into kitchen sink....)

I just can't get into this game at all. Probably more down to me than anything. Think I will try a Leicester game. <_<

Holiday the game for the 1st season, then decide on a team to play based on the results. I find when i'm stuck that might give a bit of 'variation' to starting a game.

I like it, because it's exactly how I imagine Twitter to be. You could win every match and the people of the internet will still doubt you.

I had a game where Marvin Sordell scored 4 goals (the 7th in 3 games) and two...TWO! of the twitter comments where 'Sordell...don't rate him' WHAT!?

that being said, I finally settled on a game to play. I went low league but not two low, my games never last more than 4 seasons so I figured i'd give myself a head start. Into League 1 and Coventry. Nice solid squad if a little bloated in areas for my liking.

Had a good season, never hit top of the table and by new year we were top/mid table, managed to break into the playoff positions with a great series of matches, until i got into 2nd place. Queue a 6 game streak of 2 draws and 4 loses. no idea what happened just lost two teams below us in the league, twice by more than 3 goals....stupid game. Reworked the team, stabilised and pushed into the last 3 games of the season with an actual chance of A) winning the League or B) Finishing second, however even with 3 wins I would need top placed MK Dons & 2nd Place Peterborough to both drop two games to have a chance of clinching top spot.

Manged three wins on the bounce which was great but results elsewhere didn't go in our favour and ended up finish 3rd. Bum clinch moment twice, in the 1st of three when MK Dons went 2-0 down to 8th place Sheffield only to win 3-2 in the last 30 mins.... and by the last game I was tied on points with Oxford (who beat Peterborough who then lost & drew 1) knocking them into 4th) but I needed Oxford to concede or for me to score one more goal to put me into second. Playoff final saw us beat Peterborough 3-1 and into the championship.

Genuinely enjoyed the League One season and I think the club was the right choice, just enough 'trouble' to make it interesting while still having name value to take them back to greatness.
