How did Tottenham manage to get away with convincing the Premier League that Bassong had served his suspension? He was a registered Tottenham player by the time of the Newcastle/West Brom game wasn't he?
From what I heard they agreed the deal late on Friday so it wasn't fully registered until after the match on the Saturday (there may be a waiting time of 24 hours or some such, I 'unno).

This is our year lads
-
Bogdan Stancu (Romanian soccer player) and Wayne Kerr (played for Ireland in the rugby league world cup).
-
FuiFui MoiMoi and Siuatonga Likiliki are two NRL players with pretty awesome names.

Chelsea in last minute assery for about the 40th time in the past 3 seasons :@
-
Me and Matzat are the best central mid combo going around
-
Chelsea have a history of scoring off free kicks from dives. And by history I mean I remember them doing it to Spurs once last year :@

I would just be happy for regens to be fixed.
Aye. Too many regens with only right or left foot only, very low bravery and aggression, and keepers with rubbish mental stats (and most stats in general).

Watched it again after reading this. It's a classic, lads.

Danny Rose has just become Tottenham's new Sol Campbell. After 12 years, 251 league games and however many cup and continental games, he refuses to sign a new contract and goes and joins Man Utd on a free :@

Do you change your tactics when you go a man up? If you play wider to stretch them and slow it down to keep possession, you should be able to outplay them.
-
Evra is awesome. He's got some funny videos up on YouTube. Any PR training will just kill that.

Ugh Spurs, even more reason to hate them if they're bringing in Crouch. Vieira however would be a great signing if you ask me, should be interesting to see if they get him.
And I'm shocked that Toure is going to City. Still cant see them ever getting Terry this time round, possibly in the future if things go their way. However, I do see them getting Lescott, but here's hoping I'm wrong.
Why would bringing in Crouch be another reason to hate Spurs? =/

tbf not many players would be interested coming in and being fifth choice centre back. At the very least Dawson and Corluka should be there for most of the season, King should be able to make as many appearances as he did last year and Woodgate's gone to the US to get his groin checked out, so he'll probably miss the start of the season at least, but will hopefully be fine after that.
-
Most teams have more than three centre backs in total.
What we have now isn't enough with how many injuries our current players get. Hutton and King are always carrying injuries, Woodgate and Dawson have their fair share and Bale's had his troubles before too. It's a rubbish excuse to use when you know how injury prone your players are. I'd rather get another player or two in than have to play people out of position all season long.
So do we? King, Woodgate, Dawson and Corluka could probably get a start at the majority of clubs in the league, then we have Dervite as our up-and-comer and Huddlestone and Chimbonda as fill ins when necessary. Even with the injury concerns, you'd think two of the top four would be able to start each game.
-
BBC Sport reports Ledley King, Jonathan Woodgate and Michael Dawson are all doubts for the first day of the season against Liverpool. They suggest Huddlestone and Corluka could fill in with maybe Dorian Dervite coming in if necessary. Pavlyuchenko and Keane are also doubts for the Wembley Cup against Barcelona and Celtic
Forget the other transfers, we need some defensive depth and quickly.
We have heaps of defensive depth, all teams will struggle with their top 3 centre backs out injured.

A draw away to Reading is a pretty good result, though I'd like to score more than one goal in a game at some point this year

Hughes wasn't out and Ponting knew it. Hopefully this keeps him fired up for a big innings.
-
Adebayor with Tevez and Robinho playing off him would be pretty awesome. Can't see Bellamy fitting in though.
-
Alright, I just offered you something basic and I'll let plubby figure it all out when he gets back.
-
Dammit, the site isn't loading and plubby has appointed me assistant manager whilst he's over here. Quick, need at least 2 more for tomorrow's game I think, any position (except keeper).
-
Only one-nil to your lot of wonderkids, should have done better Ellis

Apparently Adebayor really is going to City. Santa Cruz must be thinking about what the feck he's doing at City..
According to Dutch media Arsenal is preparing a bid for Huntelaar, which could be interesting.
