  1. Were going to be drafting through tomorrow night at 9 PM EST. At that time I will auto-draft the remainder of the current round and than we'll fill our teams through free agency. I will set waivers so that whoever would be picking next will have first priority for free agents, assuming I can do that.

You mean there wasn't enough time to run the draft, and maybe we should have had a shorter amount of time for people to make their picks in the later rounds specifically to avoid this? :shifty:

    I'll take Lance Kendricks.

  2. Houston still hasn't ever improved their offensive line. Yeah, they signed Schaub. Yeah they signed Andre Johnson to a huge deal. But they still haven't addressed the offensive line. I don't believe things would have ever changed. Matt Schaub =David Carr 2.0

Their offensive line is fine, what are you talking about? Chris Myers, Eric Winston and Mike Brisiel are some of the top ZBS guys around, and Wade Smith/Duane Brown aren't bad by any stretch of the imagination.

  3. Bill, when you get the time can you update the first page? Not trying to be a dick but it's getting hard to figure out who's been picked and who's left. Thanks :)

    Davone Bess

    Jimmy Graham

    Baltimore DEF

    Tim Hightower

    Pierre Garcon

    Marshawn Lynch

    Greg Olsen

    Brandon Pettigrew

    Mike Sims-Walker

    Not that hard. :P

I'll take Stafford and his mob of hot chicks.

  4. It's taken us 2 weeks to do 6 rounds. How long do we have till the season begins?

About two and a half weeks until the first game starts (Sept. 8th). We can still make it, just going to have to make an effort about making your picks quickly/sending in your lists.

Speaking of which, who's on enough and is willing to take on lists? Preferably someone who isn't actually in this draft (Maxx?), but yeah.

  5. Mine was...

"I am the one who knocks."

That whole speech was great, but that line was the clincher.

Don't know if this should be spoilered, but whatever:

It really looks like "Heisenberg" is starting to win out over the old Walt. Hopefully Cranston gets some more lines like that from here on out, he's owning those scenes.

  6. BJ FERGUSON

Fighting out of: Louisville, Ky. / All-American MMA

    Record: 6-2-0

    Age: 29

    JOSH FERGUSON

Fighting out of: Louisville, Ky. / All-American MMA

    Record: 7-3-0

    Age: 22

Might be a coincidence, but you can be forgiven for figuring they are brothers, or at least related.

I like Micah Miller, I look forward to seeing how well he does.

Yeah, they're brothers. Haven't seen BJ fight, but Taz (Josh) is a fucking wizard with submissions. This cast list is STACKED, there's not a single fighter who stands out as being unworthy.

Louis Gaudinot, John Dodson, TJ Dillashaw, Carson Beebe, Johnny Bedford, Paul McVeigh, Roland Delorme, Taz.. Bantamweight is fucking LOADED, and at least half of them can/will/should make the drop to Flyweight whenever that division comes.

  7. More info on Fitzgerald's deal:

Per a source with knowledge of the numbers, Fitzgerald will make $20 million in 2011. Starting with a $15 million option bonus due on the first day of the 2012 league year, his two-year take will be $40.25 million, thanks to a base salary of $5 million and a $250,000 workout bonus. In 2013, he’ll earn a mere $5.25 million. The numbers kick up again in 2014, with $13 million more coming to Fitzgerald. In 2015, he’ll make $16.25 million. In 2016, the earnings will be $15.25 million. In each of the last two years, when he’ll be 34 and 35, respectively, Fitzgerald will make $15 million.

That said, there are a couple of caveats (apart from the fact that the Cardinals can walk away from the non-guaranteed salaries in the out years). First, while the guarantee has been reported as $50 million, the real number is only (only?) $45 million. Of that amount, $20 million is fully guaranteed (injury, skill, cap), and the other $25 million is guaranteed for injury only. Also, the deal contains up to $8 million in de-escalators tied to Fitzgerald’s receptions in 2016 and 2017. If he’s under 80 in either season, some of the money rolls back to the Cardinals in 2017 and 2018, respectively. The highest amounts go away if he’s under 70.

    Damn.

  8. meh way too early for defenses but that's fine with me.

Manningham was on my list, didn't think he'd last much longer though.

I almost took him over Lloyd a round ago, being able to still pick him up here was nice.

To add to what distubed posted

Field Goals Missed 0-19 Yards: -5

A little bit of reading can be good for you.

So, kickers & defenses... still don't see anything for QB, RB, WR, or TE.

    Interceptions: -2

    Fumbles Lost: -2

    =\

  9. The guy will be 28 in 10 days, so they're paying all that money for about 4 or 5 more seasons of prime production. I hate when people just look at the guaranteed amount and prorate it over the life of the contract as though he's working for free the rest of the time. There's still another $70 million in base pay and incentives to account for, and even if he "only" gets half of that he's still pulling in more than $10 million per year. My gut says that no WR is worth that much of your salary cap, especially when you don't have a proven QB on the roster. He's one of my favorite players in the league, but that contract is awful.

And the majority of the serious cash will be paid over the next 4 years, according to Schefter. I imagine a huge chunk of that deal is coming in the form of a signing bonus, which will also go into lessening the cap impact considerably. If that's the case, then it's a gaudy number for his agent and other players to use in future negotiations, but certainly manageable from a franchise perspective. Not to mention that the majority of the incentives, from what I've heard, are tied into Fitzgerald making the All-Pro squad and winning a Lombardi or two, and if that's the case, it's safe to say he was worth the cash.

I get where you're coming from, but wait for more contract details to come out before calling it an albatross.

  10. http://eye-on-football.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/22475988/31446082

I hope that's not accurate for Arizona's sake. $50 million guaranteed for a WR is ridiculous, regardless of how good he is.

That's right on par with what Andre Johnson got last year, and over 8 years comes to $6.25 million guaranteed/per year. That's fine for a player of his caliber. I'm guessing the rest is heavily tied into incentives and the like, and the actual figure that will be paid out will end up being way, way smaller than the $120 million being reported (like how Haynesworth's deal wasn't really worth $100 million). It's just a nice figure for the agent to champion to the media.

Still, hell of a chunk of change for Fitz.
