I definitely thought LA was going to the finals at the beginning of the year. I had no picks for the East other than really wanting Pittsburgh to make a run. I know everyone had the Caps as favorites, but once March rolled around and Pittsburgh was dominating everyone, I thought they would get past the Caps.

Wow, Nashville got blown out. Should be some good conference finals, predicting Pittsburgh v San Jose as the final.

Damn, looks like I was wrong. I think if they get Nashville they're going to the finals. SJ is a toss up for me.

Yeah, Pens penalties were fair, but I saw a few things that could have been called on the Caps in the 3rd and OT that they let go. I thought the fix was in for sure just to get to a game 7. Glad the Pens ended it in OT, they came out flying and the Caps had nothing left.

Me too, unless the Pens go to the finals, then I'll take Nashville or Dallas.

So either SJ or St. Louis is going to choke in game 7 right? Or maybe both?

WTF Islanders?! How do they blow two games by just sitting back? Big game tonight, would love for Pittsburgh to eliminate the Caps tonight in their building.

Pens beat the Islanders 3 times IIRC, losing once in a 2-1 game. Lightning swept the series, one was in OT the other two were when Pens were without Malkin, Bonino, Fehr and one of them had Zatkoff in goal.

I think the Lightning would give them a really good fight, I honestly would rather play the Islanders.

I think the Caps are done, the Pens, especially Murray have gotten into their heads.

I agree, hoping for the best tomorrow, but I don't see this ending before 6. Would love to see Pittsburgh win tomorrow without Letang just to see the Caps fans freak out. Sid is due for a huge game and so is the powerplay. I think if they play like they did for most of the first two games they'll be fine, even if they lose tomorrow it should be a close one, I don't see them getting blown out like people are predicting.

Murray carried them tonight, worst game in the playoffs for the Pens thus far, but I'm expecting a solid game in game 4. Sucks that Letang will miss a game, but hopefully it's no more than one. No one got hurt, and if Wilson only got a fine for kneeing Sheary, than Letang shouldn't get more than one. Not to mention, Caps were dirty as hell, Letang took a knee to the head and Hagelin took a nasty crosscheck after his goal.

There's definitely a lot of room for improvement, especially on the powerplay. If they're gonna play close games like last night, a powerplay goal would go a long way.

I honestly thought Pittsburgh was much better than the Caps other than the third period. If it wasn't for Holtby, this could have been a blowout for Pittsburgh based on the first two periods. The powerplay was trash, though. I thought game 1 could have gone either way, just too bad Pittsburgh came out flat for OT. Gonna be interesting to see who comes out ready to play in game 3. And the officials are a joke, Letang gets a penalty for playing defense and Orpik only gets 2 mins for a late hit to Maatta that injured him, not to mention the no call on Wilson for kneeing Sheary in game 1.

Tough loss for the Pens, but they should be able to bounce back, just hope Sully sits Maatta next game, he was real bad tonight.

At least it was a close game this time unlike some of his past game 7's. I'm wondering if he's done in Anaheim, though.

Pens/Caps on Thursday. Man, I am nervous about this one, think the Pens take it, but still nervous. Also, hate the playoff format because one of the top two teams in the East will be eliminated in the second round while one of the Islanders or Lightning get to go to the conference final.

I felt bad for Lundqvist during the last two games, everytime he got scored on he had a look on his face like "here we go again" he really looked like he stopped caring.

Yeah, I'm pretty shocked but glad. Got no issues with the Hawks, but I'm glad St. Louis won it. I think they can beat Dallas too, Stars are fun to watch but they need work on the defensive side.

Islanders/Lightning is gonna be fun to watch, sucks for Florida that they blew it with less than a minute left.

Pens v Caps in round 2, or as the NHL will promote it Crosby and some guys v Ovechkin and some guys I'm honestly very optimistic about this one, without bringing up the Caps failures, I know they're a great team and all, but I was more worried about NY. I think Pittsburgh takes it in six.

I think it'll be Hawks/Sharks as the WCF, with the Sharks winning. But I agree with Fork, this Blackhawks team doesn't seem as good as their last few teams imo.
