how good was this show?! man, it was so quirky and funny. so many good characters... the two pete's of course were great, ARTIE the strongest man... in the world, pit stain, ellen, stu the bus driver, endless mike, nona, teddy, iggy pop, mum and her metal plate, the dad and the way he was sad that he wasn't pete's hero... seriously there was not one lame character. Artie always made me roll around on the floor laughing "soon you will be like cheese boy - melty melty melty!" "it'll make your pancreas quiver with joy"... little pete's tattoo of petuinia... the staring contests... when big pete took ellen to the drive ins and she rejected him HEARTBREAK... picking up the ball game on their mums metal plate. so classic.
FAVOURITE EPISODES
- the one little pete skips school by pretending to be food sick so he has the best day ever... president cereal! the whole big plan to get the label and stuff from the grocery store was great.
- the episode where they go on a field trip and it chronicles the way a whole day with someone can show you a whole different side of their personality. the way everyone on the bus had a problem with at least one other person and it built towards the big confrontations. fabulous. and the kid who kept getting his ear flicked! oh that made me laugh
- artie leaving episode. heart wrenching... whoever played him did a great job, as for such a quirky and weird character you could somehow relate to him. when he moved the house an inch...
- when ellen hickle rebels against algebra problems and starts a revolution in the math department. so, Principal Schwinger, played by Adam West, sends a group of trained substitute teacher assassins against her, while little pete uses the rebellion to unite kids under his banner against the international adult conspiracy, which regulates dessert quantities and bedtimes without the consent of the government
- when big pete gets the job at the pool, and he has to go one on one with little pete as he tries to invade adult swim time. the urinator!
- papercut episode! they'd have to play scissors paper rock (i think) and if they lost paper cut got to cut em.
- the episode little pete decides to stay up 12 nights in a row because adults are allowed to stay up later than kids
Anyway, thoughts?

Their first single with Macy Gray, "Request Line", was meh at best. Got played on the rock stations where I live.
That wasn't their first single, and I don't think it's on their latest album.
Oh and 'I am' by Will I Am is badass.
-
that song when they're working in a factory about the weekend and Request Line are badass. The rest of their catalogue can die die die.

Worse, I've never seen The Godfather, Blazing Saddles, Citizen Kane, Young Frankenstein, Memento, Clerks, Psycho (original and remake), and a whole bunch of top films.
I still have the right of being the only one who's actually watched Private Lessons, though. Huzzah.
Why don't you just rent a bunch of classic movies and watch them over a week?

Rumour is Littlefield is trying to package Rhodes in a deal with a propsect to Colorado for Charles Johnson (the Rockies are willing to eat 8 million of his 9 million contract, and johnson has said his preferred place to play next year is Pitt). Bradley is just a name being thrown around by fans, from what I can see.

I've been an avid Doors fan for years, so I wonder why you think they are overrated? They had three incredible musicians, and Jim Morrison who is arguably one of the greatest writers/front men of his time. Honestly, I'd take the Doors over the Beatles, or anybody you listed any day of the week. I'm not trying to discredit the achievements of the groups you listed, but none of them really inspire me. The Doors had great elements of blues, and acid rock in their music. I can't fathom anybody listening to the Doors and not being impressed with their musicianship. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the Beatles work, but I can only listen to them for a brief time before I'm bored with them. With the Doors, I can put anything by them on, and expect to tap my toes and sing along with them.

i love fultie so much.
the doors = one of the most overrated bands of all time. the beatles = THE BEST
Try out Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Cream, Simon and Garfunkel etc. Dunno if that's what you're looking at but yeah. They're all better than The Doors.

I mark hard for Internationalist and their new album.

Pirates traded off their franchise guy (in a position where there are few franchise players) for a decent started and an over the hill reliver. The only negative to Kendall is his salary, which has to be the only reason the Bucs dealt him. His power isn't good either but he's never gunna be batting 3, 4 or 5. I just pray to God they give House the nod over the awful Cota. Opens up alot of holes for Pittsburgh - have to now rely on Tike Redman as the lead off (who draws fuck all walks and doesn't play decently until the second half of the year) and have to put one of two unproven guys in to catch. Not to mention he was one of our best offensive tools (even if he wasn't a home run hitter he could always be counted on to get on base, and he has had some clutch home runs ie. grand slam in the 9th earlier this year). Redman I think will fit into the Pirates rotation as a good #3 started ahead of Fogg. A rotation with Perez, Wells (assuming he's healthy), Redman, Fogg & Burnett would be fantastic after Burnett returns. There's no way the Bucs needed to add Rhodes though... they already have a ton of great lefty relievers like Mike Gonzalez (star of the future), Mike Johnson, Dave Williams (will probably start this year with the injuries but should probably be in the pen), John Grabow... hopefully they trade off Rhodes at the deadline when contenders are trying to bulk their pens up.
If they trade off Rhodes for a decent RF, CF or C with power the trade would be a success but at the moment I think it's opened up a few holes for the Bucs. Still, early days yet. Got a while to fix those up.

Terrible movie. You can buy the uncut version here in mainstream stores. A friend of mine is a big cof fan so I saw it after he kept blabbing on about it for ages, and it blew chunks.
-
And besides, they can't be ruled as a "Christian Band" because that's not marketable. If they were indeed a christian band we wouldn't be having this disucssion because they wouldn't be as known as they are.
I have no idea about Chevelle being christians, but you make it out like if they're christian they suck. There are lots of popular christian bands - POD and MXPX are both very popular and they're christian. I'm not a big fan of either but they have alot of followers who aren't just christians.

"Things never turn out exactly the way you planned. Growing up happens in a heartbeat. One day your in diapers, the next your gone, but the memories of childhood stay with you for the long haul. I remember a place, a house like alot of houses, a yard like a lot of yards, on a street like alot of other streets. And the thing is, after all these years I still look back in wonder."

Off-topic but on your sig:
Is Mean Girls really better than the greatness of Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins in The Shawshank Redemption?
Yes.
what channel is it on these days?btw.. Beatles > Joe Cocker
It's on a channel here called TV1 which is like all old classic shows (cheers, seinfeld, married with children, etc). I have no idea if it's on in the US, but I heard they're bringing it out on DVD soon.
And I actually like the Joe Cocker version better. Both are fucking classics, though.

How badass was the Wonder Years. I've been watching heaps of reruns lately and I forgot how good this show was. The on again off again relationship with Winnie = television gold! GOLD!
FAVOURITE EPISODES:
Finale - real tearjerker, when he's talking about his dad etc.
The one where their dog runs away and it shows them all kinda neglecting him before, then when he's gone they realise how much they miss him and go looking for him everywhere cos of Kevin... the voiceover at the end, <3
The one where Kevin meets Chuck for the first time at soccer and Chuck is acting like a total dweeb
The episode where they're in the school lunchroom examining all the different cliques and their problems etc.
where Kevin has to take a Maths exam and complains he can't do it. Mr Collins believes in him and gives him extra tuition but on the day of the test Mr Collins is mysteriously not there and Kevin acts petulant. He does see Kevin later but the Kevin finds out that Mr Collins died. Takes test and passes. "You don't need to mark it, it's an A". Lump in throat moment
When Winny gets in a car accident and Kevin stays outside her window so when she wakes up he'll be there
What a great show.

Bucs traded Arthur Rhodes to Cleveland for Matt Lawnton, who'll play RF and leadoff. There are cash considerations. Excellent. I am pleased with the Kendall trade now. Basically got a good RF with power and speed which allows Mackowiak to go back to his super sub role, and Redman who'll be a solid starter behind Perez and Wells and in front of Fogg. Now we just have to get a better catcher than Cota and I think we can make a good run at a winning season!
