  1. ESPN reporting Texans have reached contract negotiations with Mario Williams to be the Number 1 pick. Wasn't expecting this, but I think this is a MUCH better football move than drafting Bush. As for the fan-base and merchandise, Eh.

  2. Why all the Simms hate?

Everyone seems to think hes the same as he was in college. Hes done a hell of a job after the first Panthers game, improving his decision making a lot and showing a lot of poise.

Hes been a beast in the clutch too. Leadin 3 come back drives late, would be 4 if a 29 yard field goal kick was made gainst the Bears.

  3. I called the FSU loss, I'm a genius. I know my team.

UVA has a good team, regardless of rank and W/L's.... Playing in UVA, with Weatherford who still sucks regardless of stats. His stats are bloated because of UVA's Zone Defense that he threw underneath routes...where a lot were off target and the good recievers just made plays.

Although, for one thing in Weatherford's defense.. the pass protection was HORRIBLE!!!

USC and those games will be covered, so I thought I'd complain about the Noles... I didn't think they were going to the Nat'l Championship, so this loss isn't detrimental to my predictions that they'll be in the ACC Championship game going for the Sugar? bowl.

USC should go unscathed now... Texas too... setting up a potential good 3-Way Heisman Championship Game... where if it were played today, I think Texas wins by about 2 TD's by jumping out early and playing physical.

  4. Ohio State @ Penn State will be for who controls their destiny in the Big10. Winner will be only Big10 team without a conference loss. OSU has advantage on defense and Pittman came a little way in the last game to help the rushing attack.

PSU at Beaver Stadium will be a tough team to beat. They use their pure talent well and will challenge Ohio State tonight. If OSU can jump early, they can silence the crowd and slow it down. If it is tight all game, PSU only gets stronger with 100,000+ behind them.

  5. From my understanding, the Owners in England play a much larger role than in the NFL correct?

Anyways, Glazer as an owner for the team is reasonable good. He does whatever it takes to win. And will most likely go after the latest fads of your free agent market. In 2001 he traded a large amount of our draft picks over the next two years(2 being first rounders) and a large amount of cash, I think 8 million, for our current Head Coach Jon Gruden. Jon won us the Super Bowl the next year, but we've went down pretty fast. Point is, he get what he wants, no matter what he has to give up.

Although, all things mentioned in what naiwf posted is sadly true.

  6. Galloway past his prime, Hillard hasnt even had a 1000 yard season and it isnt like he put up huge numbers last year he had 437 yards and NO TDs, also Clayton is a rookie he is a wait and see he could be good but who knows and the same goes with the running backs for TB the are all ok or average nothing spectaular.  I would rather have one really good RB then a bunch of alright RB.

  7. I'm not trying to be a buzzkill, but how's signing A-Train being lucky? And how was Eddie George a great pick up for them? Eddie George (I'm a loyal Titans fan and I still do like Eddie George) seemingly just went to shit a couple years before he was even in Dallas and the same could be said for A-Train, as he's one of the most inconsistent backs in the league.

Because A-Train's a young back who's shown the potential to be a starting back. In a Bill Parcells system in which he had Curtis Martin, I thiink it could benefit both parties. Because, frankly, behind Julius Jones, there's nothing. Like you said, George isn't that great of a back anymore and they need a back in case Jones gets hurt like he did last year. Insurance policy more than anything.

  8. I forget his name, but there's this 6'4" reciever at USC that makes (Tampa Bay Wide Reciever) Michael Clayton look like a joke.

It'd be pretty sweet if the Bucs drafted him, and got another threat in the receiving corps, seeing how the three receivers that were pretty much crucial in there Super Bowl run (Keyshawn, Joe Jurevicius, and Keenan McCardell) have all gone packing.

  9. Raiders have agreed to a contract with Lamont Jordan..

Damn, they're really going at it this offseason.

And the Bucs signed Griese to a 5 year 32 million dollar contract. Although the contract gives the Bucs every possible way to get out of the deal, Griese is still the guarenteed starter come next September. Bullshit. :(

  10. Glorified Trent Dilfer?

    ...well, I suppose. He's got a ring and Peyton doesn't :P

But anyways, that's not even being polite to Brady. If you cannot see the comparisons between Montana and Brady then you are damn near blind. So what if he doesn't have the strongest arm in the world? So what if he doesn't have an O-Line that could protect the President? So what if he doesn't have the type of players Manning has around him? Do those things make him a bad Quarterback? No. Even with people that are highly unlikely to go too many Pro Bowls, he quietly puts up some great numbers during the year, and to add to that, he wins what counts in the NFL. You could crush the passing yards in a season record, but if you don't win the Super Bowl, what really have you accomplished? Wow, you got a nice bonus for that record there, but ya' know what? A SuperBowl ring, or perhaps 3 of them is worth more to a person, it's more valuable, more meaningful to a person than breaking a damn record will ever be, more than likely.

And if Aikman's overrated, what's Tom Brady? How about healthy? Aikman got hurt constantly with his concussions (though, so did Young, but Aikman's a pussy anyways), but Brady had what one injury? And that was in the playoffs, where he played the next week. Brady is consistent with his performance and nevers get nervous abuot things, well at least, he doesn't show it. And Aikman, well, if I had an O-Line where each of them line up looking like Semi's, then I think I would have great sucess too. And even with that line, Aikman got hurt, which is almost pitiful.

And the Pats will most definitely make the playoffs. I mean, it's not like their division is what it used to be. Sure the Jets and Bills will be contenders barring any injuries to some key stars and the Dolphins will be an improved team, but the Patriots are...well the Patriots. They could very well do what the Niners did and win 5 within a 13 year span if it keeps up.

So to call Brady a "Glorified Trent Dilfer" or calling Aikman better than Brady is laughable, because not only has Brady done this with no stars (up until the acquisition of Corey Dillon, who's still not what you would call a true star, he's a good RB, but not a true star) and what Aikman has done with the Irvin's, the Smith's, the Johnston's, and that massive O-Line he had. Aikman and Kurt Warner are in the same boat, both beneficial in their careers to a strong O-Line and great talent around them. Brady makes his teammates better, instead of vice versa.

  11. yea, I agree that having no cap was a big advantage, but the Cowboys were still more dominant in my eyes. Don't take anything away from those Buffalo teams, they were good teams. And the Cowboys dominated them not once, but twice in the Super Bowl. While the Pats on the other hand, have won all 3 of their games by a field goal.

And? So what if it is by an average of 3 points? They still won the game to simply even go to the Superbowl 3 out of the past 4 years is an accomplishment, but to win them? Even more. Like naiwf's saying, the Cowboys wouldn't be able to last with the salary cap today. Besides, the dominance was solely based on the skills of that O-Line. I'm not saying that Irvin, Smith, Aikman, etc. weren't awful players, but let's put it this way. Irvin was a good wideout, but he also had his flaws (like his uncanty knack of finding cocai...I mean, trouble :shifty:). And Aikman was horribly overrated. Don't get me wrong, he was a good Quarterback, but probably wouldn't have done as well as he did if he hadn't had weapons like Smith and Irvin and the best O-Line in football. Smith as well. I think Smith's a good back, don't get me wrong, but to say he's the greatest and that he deserves the rushing title is wrong, because somebody up north in Detroit did more than Emmitt and he didn't have any talent around him.

I just feel that the management team of the Pats and the coaching staff deserve some baddass recognition. If the Pats stay consistent and get to at least the AFC Championship next year, I'm calling Belicheck the best coach in NFL history, because to do that with all the stuff that's going to be happening, and all the stuff that's happened these past few years, you'll be hard pressed to find a coach that did that well with all those problems. And this is coming from a 49ers fan who thinks that Bill Walsh is the greatest coach of all-time lol.

And don't even get me started on Tom Brady. The guy's just amazing and for anyone to say he sucks, I would love to suck that bad and win 3 out of 4 Superbowls.

  12. The Pats are CLEARLY better than the Cowboys because there's no chance in hell the 'Boys would have been able to keep Aikman, Emmitt, Irvin and their killer offensive line in today's game. They basically were the Yankees of the NFL, buying whoever they wanted and mortgaging their entire future for one short run at titles. There's no way any team should ever be able to duplicate what the Pats have done unless the salary cap is inexplicably removed at some point in the future.

  13. Meh.

As a Patriot Hater, the game dissapointed me a bit. But I really would have wish Tom Brady would have won the MVP.

Wonder how that would have gone down, General Moters giving Tom Brady a car while he's in the process of suing them.

Sean Salibury is a fucking douche, Patriots winning next year?? Patriots being a better team then the 90's Cowboys because they won by less? Somebody really needs to slap some sense into him.

  14. Vicks team 10 points......Peytons team 3 points.

Plus, what hump does Vick have to get over? he hasnt had all these stumbles like Peyton has, first Peyton couldnt beat Tennessee, then he couldnt win a playoff game, then he couldnt get to the AFC Championship game, now he cant beat the Patriots? Vick hasnt had any walls like that, in his 1st full season he won a big game at Lambeau, this year he only missed 1 game because of a questionable injury? then he's already got to the NFC Championship game.....only problem he's having is beating the Eagles....and please, he's only played them twice, both in Philly and in the playoffs.
