  1. The above post is exactly why Oceania should not have automatic entry into the World Cup. But thats another debate.

I remember Everton beating Southampton 7-0 a few years back. That was when Saints where even worse than they are now (remember Ken Monkou? How bad was he?), but somehow managed to stay up.

  2. If it was about money, Rooney could've stayed at Everton, signed a new contract and picked up £55k a week.  He won't be making much more than that with Man Utd.  He fell out with Moyes and whatever efforts that were made by the club to patch things up were ignored, on the advice of his "advisors", who have done more to harm his career than anyone.

In other news, Sky Sports reckon Everton have bid for Benni Mcarthy.  Yeah, lets leave European Cup winners Porto for relegation strugglers Everton.

Charlton did get Rommendahl, so you might get him. I want to know where all these relegation strugglers get the money from, they just seem to produce like £6m for players etc.

  4. Most likely, Ferguson will wait until the defenses are tired before bringing on one of the strikers. Ruud/Rooney will start the lineup with someone like Smith/Saha to fill up the numbers until the defenses are tired and then bring on Rooney, who ideally will tear the defenses apart. Thats what I remember him doing with Ole.
  5. Rooney has been spotted at Man Utd's training ground, so a deal has most likely been agreed and he is taking a medical.

Where will Rooney fit in? If you play a front three, Rooney-Smith-RVN, who do you leave out in midfield? Giggs? Scholes? Keane? Ronaldo?

  6. Still, I'd rather see Rooney go to Newcastle. At Man Utd he'll get a big ego. And one ugly twat is enough - at Man Utd you'd have Rooney, Gary Neville AND Phil Neville. It's enough to blind you.

Plus Robson would be a better influence. Fergueson's an arrogant cunt. And he's losing it. And... uh....

I suppose hating Man Utd wouldn't be much of an argument, would it?

Ah fuck it - Man Utd suck. Everton should loan Rooney to Bristol Rovers :shifty:

  7. Forlan has already gone, to Levante if memory serves. I doubt Moyes would want Bellion, and now Butt has gone and Solskaer (sp?) is injured, Man Utd don't have that many players we would realistically get for Rooney. Moyes has said if he doesn't get the offer he wants for Rooney, then he will stay, and see out his contract. That offer is probably around £25 - 27 million, so it's still some way off from United, and even if Newcastle did meet the value, I can't see Rooney wanting to go there. As I type, they are 1 - 1 with Norwich, and until they get at least 2 centre backs, they won't move forward.

I expect Rooney to leave, but not now. January would be better for Everton, as Moyes would have more time to spend whatever money is received wisely, and the reaction his move may be less, as Everton fans would have had time to accept it, as there are a few who still think he will never leave.

  8. Imbrahimovic wouldn't go to France, so I'd go after Luis Fabiano for around £7 million. from Sao Paulo, before AC Milan get there first.

Dellas, to replace Van Buyten who I think has gone to Hamburg. Roma would probably accept around £3 million.

Van Bommel, for around £3 million.

    Miguel, for around £5 million.

And Wiltord on a free, with money to spare.

  9. Everton agree terms with PSV for Van Bommel

    tribalfootball.com - July 26, 2004

Mark Van Bommel is still weighing up a move to Everton.

The Guardian says Everton chairman Bill Kenwright has brokered a deal with PSV Eindhoven for the midfielder, but nothing will be rubberstamped until Van Bommel agrees terms.

Its understood the boardroom turmoil at Everton is a factor concerning the Van Bommel camp

If this happened, I would find it hard to complain about the Everton midfield when he's playing.

  10. If you are going to quote someone...don't change it unless you want to have legal cases brought against you for slander.

Yeah, becasue The Sun's legal team regularly visit EWB.

Everton have almost signed Tim Cahill (Thank God) for £2 million, while Radzinski is having a medical with Fulham, and will leave for £1.75 million.

EDIT: Somehow I quoted twice. Strange.
