  1. He does, and I would've thought that every song recorded by The Beatles would be included in that, but it could be just every song released. Still, I think Jacko has other things on his mind right now.

  2. Craig Hignett, Steve Guppy and Brian Deane are on trial at Leeds, who has just won their first pre season friendly  :D

Also, anyone know where Henri Camara will be playing. All I know is that he has reportedly walked out on Wolves

Bolton where strongly linked with Camara, so I'd guess if he doesn't stay at Wolves, that's where he will end up. There or some average French team.

  3. Well, Savage has signed a new contract at Brum, after Evertons offer was rejected, which was no suprise once it came out that it was £1.5 million upfront, with the rest due in 2008 IF Everton where still in the Premiership. Call me cynical, but this feels like the Everton board just saying to the fans "See, we are trying to sign people!".

And Theo Zagorakis has been released by AEK Athens, who need to clear the wage bill.

  4. Davis is pretty much a done deal so dont hold your breath evertonfan.

More Spurs news is that Helder Postiga has been sold back to Porto after just one season with midfielder Pedro Mendes joining Spurs

    Source

I've got to hope, I can't face the prospect of Linderoth/Li Tie in our midfield next season. With those two, we'll be lucky to string 3 passes together next season.

Gah...it's just been confirmed. Well, get your money on Everton to go down, Rooney or not.

  5. Yeah but there is apparently still hope according to McAtter's agent,

Leicester are now also being linked with David Connolly, Chris Makin (who is on a trial) and Kevin Campbell.

Danny Coyne is set to leave as soon as we get a replacement keeper.

Take the lazy, overpaid bastard, please!

And Davis hasn't signed for Spurs yet, he still needs to agree terms and pass a medical. Yes, that sound was a desperate Everton fan hoping that the one quality player we had a chance of singing hasn't gone somewhere else.

  6. Venables accepts Aussie job

    Thursday July 08 2004

Terry Venables is set to return Down Under after signing a one-year deal to coach Newcastle in the new Australian Premier League.

The former Barcelona, Tottenham, Leeds and England boss has been appointed as head coach of the New South Wales side and will oversee recruitment and technical development.

The deal is subject to Newcastle's likely inclusion in the proposed elite eight-team domestic competition, which is scheduled to start in July next year.

Venables will visit Newcastle in November when he will launch his preparations by meeting the players and planning for pre-season before moving to Australia from his London base next year.

The 61-year-old was manager of the Australian national side - known as the Socceroos - for their 1998 World Cup campaign where they missed out on the finals by losing a two-legged play-off to Iran.

He still has a high profile in Australia and Newcastle's general manager Jock Graham said Venables' arrival would be the most significant point in the club's four-year history.

Graham told www.smh.com.au: "He is a coach of the highest calibre and and we are delighted to have him in charge at United for the inaugural Australian Premier League.

"By signing Terry Venables, whose football credibility and pedigree speaks for itself, it tells you that (owner) Con Constantine is serious about the next five years."

    Who said mercenery?

  7. Something tells me you've George W. Bushed this...where's Michael Moore when you need him?

Seriously though, I'm just glad I didn't finish last, so that's cheered me up. After hearing that Radzinski has rejected his contract, after I'd shelled out £310 on a season ticket, I could do with cheering up.

  8. Jason McAtter has joined Leicester City from Sunderland on a free,

Gareth Williams has joined Leicester City from Nottingham Forest - Forest want £5 million and its set to go to court

Danny Tiatto has joined Leicester City from Man City on a free,

Jason Wilcox has joined Leicester City from Leeds United on a free,

Les Ferdinand had a medical with Bolton Wanderers today and looks set to join them.

McAteer's move to Leicster has collapsed, according to Sky Sports News.

  9. While I agree that if we had played well enough to beat Portugal, we would've done it conclusively. Thing is, while we didn't play well, we did enough to win, because John Terry standing there while Ricardo flaps about is not a foul. Its not like v Argentina in 1998 where there was a clear foul on the keeper by Shearer, who blocked him with his elbow. A hand on the shoulder is not a foul.

Oh, and I can' wait for the Semi-Finals...France v Holland sound good to anyone?

  10. Thursday 24th June, Luz, Lisbon

    France v Greece 2-1

    Score first: France

    Saturday 26th June, Faro-Loulé

    Sweden v Holland 2-1

    Score first: Sweden

    Sunday 27th June, Dragao, Porto

    Czech Republic v Denmark 3-2

    Score first: Czech Rep

  11. I personally think that'd be an awful deal. Radzinski is one of your best forwards, if not the best. His pace is hard for a lot of people to deal with, I don't understand why Moyes doesn't play him more.

Campbell is past it now, Ferguson is prone to injury and suspension, McFadden never seems to get a run as a forward and Rooney can go off the boil. I think Everton need Radzinski.

That's not to say that Davis wouldn't be a good signing though. I just think Everton should try and make it cash only.

Radzinski is one of our best forwards, but he's asked for a transfer, and seen as though his contract expires next summer, we've got to sell him now or January to stop him going for free. Midfield and defence are where we really need signings, because we have Rooney, McFadden (who was excellent v Spurs as a forward), Ferguson and Nick Chadwick to play upfront.

And Everton...cash only? You must be thinking of a team with a pot to piss in.

  12. Good move by Liverpool, but rumour has it (well, Mick Quinn on talkSPORT) that Stevie G isn't happy with Benitez's appointment, and is looking to move to Chelsea. Apparantly, Moores asked Gerrard if he would join Chelsea should they make an offer and have it accepted, and Gerrard said yes. Can't see it myself, but stranger things have happened.

  13. In the most unlikely rumour for a while:

15 Jun - Everton are looking at signing Freddie Kanoute (who doesn't get on at all well with new Tottenham manager Santini, apparently) for £4m and defender Dean Richards for £1.5m according to "my mate's a Spurs supporter" rumours.

    Toffeeweb.com

Not going to happen, for so many reasons.

    Moyes eyes Matteo

Matteo is a product of Liverpool's School of Excellence

Everton boss David Moyes has hinted he could make a bid to sign central defender Dominic Matteo from Leeds.

Matteo has two years left on his current Leeds contract but may decide to move after the Elland Road club's relegation from the Premiership.

"He's one of a number of players we are interested in," Moyes told his club's official website. "We are keeping an eye on his situation."

Matteo began his career at fellow Merseyside club Liverpool.

We badly need a defender after missing out on Laursen.

Oh, and Radzinski + cash to Fulham in return for Sean Davis. You heard it here first.

  15. Just across the park, Everton will have elephants on their shirts next season after they agreed a sponsorship deal with Thai firm Chang Beer. Insert your own joke here, etc.

David Moyes, meanwhile, is worried that Peter Kenyon may be oozing on the other end of a phone if Wayne Rooney manages to score some goals and not chin anyone at Euro 2004. "My belief is that there is only one club in the world that can afford Rooney at the moment, though that does not mean we want to sell him to that club," Moyes said, whipping Chelsea suits into a frenzy.

Everton having elephants on their shirts would be pretty apt, because most of our defenders and half of our strike force have less pace than your average elephant.

Moyes said that Rooney is not going to Chelsea, Man Utd or anywhere else, and even if he was going Chelsea would be the only ones who could afford him, not that he was worried they were going to make an offer.

Instead, the Scot is under no pressure to accept any offers for the 18-year-old and hints at Chelsea being the only club capable of finding the funds to sign Rooney.

"If he does well, the surrounding hype will be inevitable," said Moyes.

"But it's my belief that only one club in the world can afford Rooney at the moment. That does not mean we want to sell him to that club.

"But I want to get the message across that if people are going to talk about buying him, whether he has a good Euro 2004 or a bad one, there is only one club who could do that.

"He is an Everton player and will remain that way and we have no intention of selling him."

    Is what he actually said.

Everton have been warned they are almost certainly going to lose their inspirational Danish midfielder Thomas Gravesen.

On the day the Goodison club distanced themselves from claims they are in discussions with Thaksin Shinawatra over selling a stake in the club to the Thai PM, they were confronted with damning comments from Gravesen's agent about the player's future.

Gravesen, currently on Euro 2004 duty with Denmark and banned from their opening game with Italy next Monday, is considering walking away from the club on a free transfer next summer or opting for a move now.

Everton plan to have new contract discussions with Gravesen when he returns from the Portugal finals, but the player's agent John Sivebaek has hit them with worrying claims.

Former Manchester United defender Sivebaek had earlier said Gravesen would leave Everton if they failed to improve the squad during the summer.

But now it seems that the Dane is going anyway, either with a cut-price transfer fee now or on a free transfer when his contract expires next summer.

Sivebaek explained: "Thomas has no problem staying another year in Everton, but quite frankly I find it hard to think he is staying.

"It would be wise to sell him now and make some money. That is up to Everton, but we are also speculating in letting the deal expire next summer."

Sivebaek clearly has no problem upsetting Everton chief David Moyes with his claims.

He continued: "There's nothing wrong in saying you want to try something else.

"Maybe Everton won't get the improvements Thomas is looking for, because it is apparently not easy to get the huge stars to Everton.

"Hopefully something will happen around Thomas during the Euro 2004 finals.

"Everything will be open if he plays well, but on the other hand everything can also go wrong.

"Thomas is gambling under pressure, but he can handle that, and the finals in Portugal could be perfect for him.

"It could be an economic good solution to let the deal expire, but that is not our strategy.

"It could end like that, but we are not double-crossing Everton, because Thomas likes the club, and we want to be straight in our way to do business.

"I think the club understand that Thomas would like to try something else."

Everton, who installed owner Bill Kenwright as chairman last week as well as a new chief executive in Trevor Birch, desperately need cash to meet Moyes' plans.

That means bringing in players to impress the likes of Gravesen and persuade the midfielder to extend his contract.

Graveson's agent wants him to leave, as does 70 percent of the Everton crowd, but Moyes says he isn't going anywhere:

David Moyes has reacted angrily to the statements that John Sivebaek made over the weekend about Thomas Gravesen's impending avaliability. "Thomas has shook hands with me on an agreement, which we’ve reached in private," said Moyes, adding that “If players don’t want to play for Everton, then they won’t play for Everton, it’s as simple as that.  That suits me and if Thomas Gravesen tells me that himself, I will accept it — but I won’t accept that from someone I don’t know

Why is Robert Huth described as "Groin-gashing"?

And Robert Huth is described as groin-gashing because he nearly castrated Alan Shearer.

    EDIT:

Southampton have completed the signing of Belgium international defender Jelle van Damme from Dutch outfit Ajax for an undisclosed fee.

The tall left-back underwent a medical before sealing the deal after agreeing terms and putting pen to paper with the St Mary's outfit on Tuesday afternoon.

The 20-year-old found first team opportunities scarce at the Amsterdam ArenA after failing to dislodge Brazilian Maxwell for the left full back role.

Skysports.com first revealed at the end of May that The Saints were tracking Van Damme and now the South Coast club have snagged their target.

"He is a tough character and a good player. We are delighted to have got him," said Saints chairman Rupert Lowe to the club's official website.

"He fits the mould of the kind of players we like to sign. He is big and strong and young.

"He has a fair amount of experience for someone of his age and he is already an established international with a big future. We think he will do well in The Premiership.

"It is a big signing for us and I would think the fans will love him as a player, as well as enjoying the chance to have the name Van Damme on their shirts!"

  16. I think Ronaldo . Rivaldo is much better

Rivaldo is a lazy, money grabbing has-been, living off former glories. Ronaldo is one of the best strikers in the world, despite his weight problems and his knee nearly falling apart, twice. While Ronaldo may not be as good as he once was, he is still pretty bloody good, whereas Rivaldo hasn't been good since he left Barca.

Oh, and I'd agree RVN is over-rated, but not the most over-rated player in the world. He is still pretty bloody good, just not as good as Henry, Raul or Totti.
