I'm doing it every so often, but it's still lagging behind other stats. Not nearly enough fishing spots for my liking.

I take it back, you can max fishing pretty quickly. Once you get good equipment and get the knack down, it's really easy.

Survival is the worst. Just use the car, Chocobos and fast travel as little as possible and you'll be fine though.

Considering it's meant to be relaxing, fishing is the most infuriating side game ever <_<

Do it every chance you get though, I'm assuming you're still into trophies? Don't be like me and be left grinding fishing when everything else was done ages ago :/

  3. Just run away and dodge if you need to, fights are contained in a red circle on the mini map, once you've passed the perimeter they will lose interest in you generally.

I can remember, but use whatever level the story mission (red one) has as a guide. I did a bunch of side quests every time and was always above that number and never had any issues.

So the most dangerous but not all right? Otherwise how the hell do I level up?

'Animals' are always around, but 'Demons' only come out at night. You will have a bad time at night until you're almost 30 - although it's pretty easy to escape fights if you get in a sticky situation.

  5. Ohh fair enough, I spent ages trying to work that out :P

It is fun to play with, and certainly open to abuse if you don't mind sacrificing some of the better items.

This is pretty much the only FF where I've found items to be of use all the way though, usually they lose purpose once you have decent abilities/spells so I guess well done them for making an aspect useful rather than just because.

Change the control scheme to, I think it was B.

Do hunts and side quests....you'll get plenty of XP/gil, and some pretty solid items.

If possible, save up a large chunk of XP and then go spend the night at a motel/hotel to get bonus XP.

Experiment with magic. It's a lot of fun! And you can add more than one item to the creation process.

Fill up your magic whenever you can. If it's full? Make

Save up 7 or 8 Rare Coins (Gladio will pick them up on occasion), and put them into a spell. Ideally, do this after you've eaten something that gives you an XP boost.

To change soundtracks while in the car, hold right or left on the D-Pad. That way you don't have to skip through the ENTIRE CD to get to the next. Also, press down on the D-Pad to set it to normal, repeat or shuffle.

Get Ignis' 'Regroup' ability....it's a life saver.

Take your time. Enjoy the world and the music and the scenery and the friendship between the main 4.

I can't for the life of me work out how to do this. I can do multiple of the same item, but I can't seem to select any additional ones without removing the first one.

@Ollie said it'll be cheap in PS Store 12 days of Xmas, so I'll be jumping on the wagon soon. Glad to feel optimistic about this after all my pessimism.

    Any tips appreciated.

Before the game starts you get a chance to do some optional tutorial stuff, I would recommend it no matter how eager to jump in you are... I did it, I feel if I didn't it would have taken me a long while to get a grasp on the combat.

    I beat it!

Chapter 13 went on for a bit too long, but overall....I enjoyed the game. One of the best Final Fantasy's...and likely the best in the past 10 years.

My thoughts exactly, glad to see someone else enjoy it. Best since IX for me. I've also put another 12 hours in since completing the game, doing extra stuff (and some post game only quests).

  9. My only complaint the the later section (which is essentially just one long final quest) is that chapter 13 was maybe slightly too long, other than that it's still great even it is slightly different.

Plenty of options to return back to the world too. It is made very clear when an npc literally says "If you do 'insert thing that happens' you will not be able to return to the open world." It doesn't say "for a while" it is very clear, which is why I laughed a little at people going past that point and being surprised that they couldn't go back and do more stuff until the story was concluded.

Easy enough to do, though I assume FF VII to FF X-2 at the very least and then some of the others would be digital downloads.

The set is just 1-9, with I think 1-6 having both the original and ported versions. VII-IX are gonna be the PS4/PC versions we've had recently.

They're also releasing XII HD, VII remake and XIII trilogy for PS4 in 2017. This is all NA info though, hopefully the same applies to UK.

  11. Can we all agree that the shameless advertising of 'cup noodles' is actually amazing the best instance of product placement probably ever? Right down to the quest where

    Spoiler

Gladiolus wants you to help him create the greatest ever cup noodle flavour.

Anyone know where I can do chocobo races? I've unlocked riding chocobos....now I just want to race and get Boko stronger.

Is this instead of having to rent them? Pretty sure the racing opens up after a while if you just keep doing all the Chocobo related quests anyway.

I don't think I've seen a Game Over screen since Final Fantasy 7. I've always felt like the later games were more about story and it was very hard to die.

I must suck normally then, because I died a fuckload in all of them. To be fair I was very young during the PS1 era. I guess with XIII as a recent example I hated the gameplay so I powered through the story which wasn't always ideal.

XV makes it very easy to know what is and isn't doable at various times, plus I'm enjoying the side stuff so much by the time I do any main quest stuff I end up being a little over levelled. Not that there hasn't been a few 'oh shit' moments where I've had a luck escape.

  14. Biggest tip for the combat would be do the pre-game tutorials the it offers before starting, I feel like I would have struggled with it otherwise.

If I had to complain about anything, it would be that the game is too easy. I'm at level 24, about 14 hours in and I have yet to see a Game Over screen... which lets face it, isn't actually something to complain about. Absolutely loving it so far though, not enjoyed a game so much in ages.
