  1. Good solid show their rock box man. I do like your lay out a lot. Really easy on the eye, and with some good matches on that card. My personally favorite was Monty vs. Batts purely for the Dear in headlights remark and Kip James being beaten despite help by Hardy. TNA could be doing so much more with Impact than what they are doing (IMO at least)rushing something that could be done a lot better. I have every faith with this solid start you can put forward a good product. Looking forward to seeing where you go with this...

  2. I really like the start you've made for the show. I can't say that I have watched much of the FWA in a while but at least for now, you seem to be resisting the urge to bring in guys from the States and simply crush the British Talent, which is great. The idea of Don Callis on FWA really sends shivers down my spine. I'd love to see him get in a brawl with Danny Williams. Go Williams!

Keep up the good work mate

    WWF Smackdown! Preview

Broadcast on the 31st of January 2002 from War Memorial Arena, Pennsylvania

WWF Smackdown comes to you directly from the War Memorial Arena in Pennsylvania and we have an action packed line up for you tonight!!

Earlier in the Week on RAW, Vince McMahon spoke to the crowd for the first time since losing his WWF Championship Title to The Rock at the Royal Rumble and he was lusting for Revenge. Vince McMahon made a promise that at No Way Out, Vince McMahon would once more be the WWF Champion. But how would Vince aim to do that? One thing is for certain is that The Rock showed at the Rumble that he was just too much for the Co-Owner and so, for Vince to guarantee a WWF Championship Victory, Vince surely must have some sort of plan?

One thing is for certain and that is that Vince McMahon does NOT want the Big Show around at No Way Out, piting him off against the British Bulldog tonight in the Smackdown Main Event. Bulldog is certainly one tough competitor but how can a man with the physical condition of Davey Boy Smith overcome a 7ft Giant? Bulldog will certainly be in for a tough ride tonight....

One man who certainly won't be in action tonight is Test. However, Test did exclusively tell WWF.com that he does intend to appear on Smackdown tonight as he has a very important announcement regarding him and the Undertaker. I wonder what that could be?

WWF's latest female acquisition, Daffney Unger will once again be in action tonight when she takes on WWF diva Stacy Keibler. Earlier in the week on RAW, Stacy made the mistake of coming to her friend's aid after Daffney viciously assaulted her in the ring. Can Stacy cause a huge upset and defeat the undefeated Unger or will Daffney continue to make examples out of the WWF divas?

Olympic Gold Medallist Kurt Angle also sees action tonight as he is pitted against the one and only Perry Saturn. Kurt Angle has been in a bad mood ever since he lost out on the chance to appear in the Royal Rumble after losing to Jericho and has been taking his frustrations out on Rob Van Dam since then. Can Perry Saturn put up a fight tonight against the former 2 time WWF Champion or will Kurt Angle inflict more punishment on the WWF superstars?

Finally, WWF Intercontinental Champion Shawn Stasiak also sees action tonight when he takes on Crash Holly. Shawn Stasiak has been off of the tv since his succesful title defense against Edge a few weeks back but looks more than ready for his match up tonight. Crash Holly will know that opportunities like this do not come around often and must take advantage of this great opportunity tonight! Make sure you tune in to WWF Smackdown!

    Scheduled Matches

    Kurt Angle vs. Perry Saturn

    WWF Intercontinental Championship Match

Shawn Stasiak © vs. Crash Holly

    Daffney Unger vs. Stacy Keibler

The British Bulldog vs. The Big Show

    WWF RAW

Broadcast on Monday, 28th of January, 2002 LIVE from Pittsburgh, PA

Hosted by Jim Ross and Mick Foley

RAW opens up with an explosion of fireworks as Jim Ross and Mick Foley welcome up to an action packed episode of Sports Entertainment!! Mick Foley adds that he always loves the Road to Wrestlemania and that he is just glad that the Road goes right through PITTSBURGH! PA! Nice little pop for the start of the night there Mick! *shifty). Vince McMahon's music then hits the arena as Vince McMahon makes his way to the ring, accompanied by his goons, Waterman, Bulldog and X-Pac. Vince orders X-Pac to grab him a mic as Vince climbs into the ring raising his arms to the crowd even though they are obviously not too endeared to him right now. Vince, however, is glad to be back on RAW! (How nice...). Vince says that it feels strange for him standing there in the middle of the ring, not clutching onto that WWF Championship belt and that he feels like a piece of him is simply missing. Vince tells the fans not to worry though because come the end of No Way Out, Vince McMahon guarantees to be WWF Champion once again because just like Vince McMahon showed the Rock last Thursday, it doesn't matter how good you are, it doesn't matter how much you are loved, it doesn't matter wwho you are...Vince McMahon gets even, just like he will with Big Show later on tonight and that my friends, is a promise! (Looks like Vince has been hitting one too many of the shandys...). All four men pose in the ring as Vince's music hit the arena once more, the fans just happy to see them leave!

Backstage the camera follows a trail of clothes on the floor and then we see it, a bag with the Canadian flag on it..(What the?). Then we hear somebody choking and the camera finally gets to the bottom of what's going on. It's Lance Storm and The Undertaker. The Undertaker has Lance Storm by the throat against the wall and isn't looking best pleased! Taker wants to know where Test is but Storm doesn't know. Taker just is having a hard time believing it as these two are such good friends all but Storm swears, he has no idea. He came into the arena by himself. Taker nearly believes Storm but then his doubt once again comes into play as Test walks through the door. Test looks startled quickly shoots off in the opposite direction. Taker looks pissed at Storm but drops him anyway, quickly taking off in hot pursuit, Storm grasping hold of his neck. (I hope Test can find a good place to hide!)

Back to the ring and straight to our first match of the night and it's a WWF Tag Team Titles Match between The Dudley Boyz and Venis and Blackman. Blackman and Venis make their way to the ring first, Venis dancing around like a hyper-excited school girl while Blackman looks like he's just swallowed a dune bug. Anywho, both men get into the ring to a decent reception from the fans and both acknowledge them in their own ways (Blackman staring at them like a bunch of annoying dune bugs while Val raises his arms while dancing like a school girl....). Finally the Dudley Boyz hit the ring and the fans give them some solid heel heat, Bubba and D-Von looking fired up as usual ready for the match up. Both teams start the match with a brawl in the middle of the ring, before Blackman and Bubba identify themselves as the legal men after Venis clears D-Von from the ring. Blackman starts off quite strong taking Bubba to the corner, attacking him with some right handed chops before Bubba counters him with a thumb to the eye before giving him some more of the same. Bubba goes for a cutter early in the match but misses,Blackman taking advantage and taking him down with an early russian leg sweep for the cover but Bubba kicks out with ease. Blackman tags in Venis and Venis goes to work on the WWF Tag Team Champion attacking Bubba with right hands before sending him into the ropes taking him down with a back body drop on Bubba, Val looking up for it in the early goings. Bubba clutches his lower back, tagging in D-Von who quickly locks up with Venis, Venis missing the original clothesline but catches D-Von on the rebound with a huge side slam. Venis brings Blackman back into the match and the two men hit a double suplex on D-Von. Blackman once again goes for the cover but he only gets the 2. Blackman gets back to his feet and takes D-Von down with a vertical suplex before trying to take advantage again with the cover but D-Von isn't gonna let go without a fight. Blackman tries to put D-Von in a scissored armbar but Bubba interferes breaking up the hold. Blackman gets back to his feet and goes for Bubba but the ref pulls them apart and tries to send Bubba out of the ring, D-Von taking advantage with a low blow before going for a roll up but D-Von only can get the two even with the tights. D-Von tags out and Bubba attacks Blackman with his elbow, nailing Blackman to the head for a few times before sending him into the ropes and taking Blackman down with a huge chop. Bubba taunts Val before hitting Blackman with a side slam of his own Val getting caught out and allowing the Dudleyz to a double team attack! (Wazzaaaaaaaaaap!) Blackman gets nailed with a diving headbutt but manages to kick out on the two! Bubba gets back to his feet looking disgusted with the referee but takes out his frustrations on an angry Val Venis, causing Val to try and get in the ring once more and Bubba and D-Von take advantage with the double stomp. D-Von tags back in and goes Blackman who is trying to make his way back to his corner but D-Von won't allow it! Blackman dragging him back to his corner before elbow dropping him and locking in a modfied camel clutch on Blackman, Blackman having to grabbing the ropes with ease. D-Von stomps away some more but Blackman wants to make it home! Can he do it? OOOH! GOOD SUPERKICK BY BLACKMAN! Blackman gets the tag in and Val comes in on fire taking both Bubba and D-von down with clotheslines. Val hits D-Von with a back body drop, then Bubba with a half nelson slam. Val hits D-Von with a belly to belly suplex and goes for the cover but Bubba breaks it up. Val isn't going to stop there though, Val gets back to his feet and Bubba and Val brawl before Val counters a whip attempt and sends Bubba out of the ring with a clothesline. D-Von gets back up and gets hit with a Spinebuster! Val looks to the top. Could we have new Tag Team Champions? IT'S TIME FOR THE MONEY SHOT! AND IT CONNECTS! VAL COVERS...1....2...BUBBA BREAKS UP THE COUNT! BUBBA HITS VAL WITH THE BUBBA BOMB! BUT WAIT! BLACKMAN IS BACK! Blackman hits Bubba with hard chops, Blackman then taking both him and Bubba out of the ring with a huge clothesline. BUT D-VON IS CRAWLING OVER VAL!........1..........2...........3 THE DUDLEY BOYZ STEAL IT![*** 1/2 Rating]. After the match, Bubba sends Blackman into the steel steps. (Looks like Bubba isn't through eh?). Things are still going on anywho as we go to a quick break.

When we return, the Dudley Boyz are still in the ring grasping hold of their precious precious Tag Team Title belts! Bubba gets on the mic and begins a rant about how matches like tonight just show why the Dudley Boyz are the best Tag Team in the history of Wrestling. ECW Tag Champions, WCW Tag Champions, WWF Tag Team Champions! No One has achieved what they have and no one will EVER come as close to every achieving what they did! The Dudley Boyz are Revolutionary...."ARE YOU READY?" The crowd go wild as DX's music blasts through the PA system; even JR is having kittens! I guess it's time for another Degeneration X promo and tonight we go back to good old 1997 and Triple H is mocking Sgt. Slaughter for having impotence!(with a chin like that? not likely...). The Dudley Boyz are not impressed and after the segment, are seen in the middle of the ring talking to each other pointing at the screen with complete bewilderment before heading off down the ramp. I wonder what that was about?

After the Dudleyz Boyz had left the arena, JR and Mick Foley discuss the whole incident. Foley believes that obviously DX felt that the Dudley Boyz self obsessive rant was the right time to really push some buttons and they succeeded brilliantly. JR asks Foley if he feels a match is on the cards and Foley believes it certainly is and if this DX is anything like the DX of all, it's going to be a slobberknocker!

We head backstage and see Taker in pursuit of Test. Test is one of the backstage areas and it's covered with metal work and what not and Test quickly realises its an ideal place to hide. Taker eventually follows in calling for Test but Test is hiddenwell. Taker walks up and down the room looking around for Test but there is no sight or smell of him! Taker opens a door to one of the cupboard...when wait! TAKER LOOK OUT! Test attacks Taker from behind with some sort of metal sheet. Taker drops and Test throws in some right hands beating Taker to the ground. Test then chokes Taker with his boot spouting out abuse at him. "YOU CAN'T STOP ME TAKER! YOU CAN'T STOP ME!" (okeydokey Test...). Test eventually leaves the scene as the crowd notices Taker is bleeding. Test is damn sure going to pay!

Next up is the match that King set last week on Smackdown; It's Daffney Unger versus Terri. Terri makes her way to the ring first dressed almost inappropriately for the match ahead. The same could not be said for Daffney Unger who came to the ring with a face that could kill flowers in the springtime, Daffney getting into the ring and going head to head with Terri. The referee stopped from beginning the beat down too soon but Daffney was as ready as a Rottweiler in front of a fresh piece of meat. Daffney began with a vicious assault on Terri clubbing away at her with huge right hands before slamming her straight into the turnbuckle. Daffney quickly grabbed hold of her head by her hair and started repeatedly bashing Terri's face into the turnbuckle busting her face open before throwing her to the ground. Daffney begged Terri to get up but she didn't want to, so Daffney stuck a boot in taking her off her knees and flat onto the floor. Daffney didn't wait around for her to get up, dragging her back to her feet by her hair before hitting Terri with the Death Valley Driver, Terri helpless against the pinfall, Daffney winning this match in style! [* Rating]. After the match, Unger climbed the turnbuckles and raised her arms to the crowd, the crowd seriously sharing their sense of loathing with her. But the night wasn't over for Unger, oh no no! An unsuspecting Stacy Keibler came to the ring and checked on Terri who was unconcious in the middle of the ring only to somehow get the attention of Unger. Unger quickly took advantage of Stacy calling for paramedics attacking Stacy from behind and knocking her to the ground. Daffney quickly mounted Keibler and beat her down with huge right and left hands before beginning to choke her. Unger finished the job, Death Valley Driving Stacy right on top of Terri the crowd disgusted by her actions. Daffney on the other hand looked very pleased with her days work.

We head backstage to see Jerry Lawler pacing up and down his office, a look of concern dominating his face. Paul Heyman walks in with a message and Lawler isn't happy but Heyman says he'll have to just bare with him for now. Heyman says he's here to apologise on behalf of the future WWF Champion, Kane, as he can't make it here tonight. Heyman says he had to go and see a someone about a thing and it's quite an important thing so Lawler would understand, Heyman quickly trying to shoot off but Lawler stops him. Lawler says that if Heyman was worried about Austin being here, he's not, but Heyman says thats ridiculous. Kane fears NO MAN and neither does Heyman. Lawler is a little sceptical asking. Lawler says if that's the case, then Heyman won't mind being involved in a little match tonight...a match against none other than the SUICIDIAL HOMICIDAL GENOCIDAL DEATH DEFYING SABU! Heyman goes bananas! He's not a wrestler!!! Lawler however politely ushers him out of the room, Heyman octive jumping voice obviously not enough to make Lawler reconsider. Oh and by the way...it's NEXT!

After a short break, we return to the ring in the middle of Paul Heyman's entrance, Heyman strolling down to the ring in some sweat pants and shirt, sweat pouring down the head of the man who JR calls the boil on the face of humanity. Sabu gets a huge pop as he makes his way to the ring, Sabu coming down to the ring with a chair in hand despite it only being a singles match, Sabu's every move striking the fear of God into Heyman. As soon as Sabu gets into the ring, Sabu puts his hand out like the two men are best friends, Heyman hoping that Sabu will shake but he does no such thing. Sabu on the other hand strikes Heyman down with a shot, Heyman crawling backwards to the corner of the ring where Sabu bases his attack, sticking in some boots and fists to Heyman before hitting him with a drop kick. Sabu drags Heyman to his feet and sends him hard into the opposite corner, Sabu following up with a splash. Sabu goes for some more but Heyman quickly rolls out of the ring to get out of the way. Heyman knows more than most exactly what Sabu is capable of. But wait! Key's music hits the arena and Key and Charles Wright appear at the entrance. Sabu looks at Key and you can tell Sabu isn't happy about it, Heyman quickly gets in the ring and tries to roll up Sabu but Sabu kicks out quickly just on the 2 and Sabu goes mental. Sabu mounts Heyman and begins to beat away on him. Key quickly slid into the ring ending any possibility that this match would finish properly, and halted the attack pulling Sabu off of Heyman but Sabu wouldnt stop simply changing his victim [* 1/2 Rating]. Key was no Heyman however and quickly showed Sabu exactly what he was made of countering a whip attempt before taking Sabu down with the Face Eraser. Key considers going for more but instead decides to leave, joining up with Heyman and Wright on the ramp way. Sabu wins this match by DQ but he wont feel a winner! Sabu is not going to let this lie down!

Next up is a video for our newest Diva, Daffney Unger. She was born in German, she likes to fight! And she is slightly crazy! That sums her up rather well....

Back to the ring and it's time for our next match between Rob Van Dam and Chavo Guerrero Jr.Van Dam makes his way to the ring first to a huge response from the fans, JR and Foley both admitting that Van Dam has a hard time recently. Foley says that Van Dam's WWF career started off with bang but now it seems to be flatlining and that this current feud between him and Angle maybe the sort of thing that Van Dam needs to regenerate some life in his career. Van Dam gets in the ring and salutes the fans, R-V-D chances filling the ring as Van Dam climbs the turnbuckle. Chavo Guerrero Jr's music then hits the arena and Chavo begins his descent down the ramp way towards the ring. Chavo comes from the legendary Guerrero background and he knows it says JR as Chavo gets into the ring slapping his chest saluting the fans but they don't care....for now...a clean win would change it all! Chavo and Van Dam lock up and Chavo quickly trying to get behind him and gain some advantage. Van Dam however is a smart wrestler and uses his elbows to knock Chavo away, Van Dam breaking free before taking him down with a shoulder tackle. Van Dam sends Chavo into the corner of the ring before hitting him with a couple of turnbuckle thrusts before finishing it off with a back handspring and a running thrust. Van Dam then goes for a step over heel kick before going for a cover but Chavo manages to get the shoulder up. Van Dam doesn't look concerned and hits Chavo with a standing moonsault before going for another cover, Chavo kicking out again. Van looks at the referee unhappy but then gets back to his feet and lays some boots into Chavo. Van Dam climbs up top and goes for a Somersault leg drop but Chavo gets out of the way and Van Dam lands hard. Chavo turns the tides taking Van Dam down with a couple of forearm smashes before hitting Van Dam with a German Suplex. Chavo goes up top and he hits van Dam with a missile drop kick, Chavo making a pin fall attempt but Van Dam kicks out. Chavo quickly mounts on top of him and beats away on the man from Battle Creek Michigan before getting back to his feet and signals that the end is near. Van Dam gets back to his feet and Chavo quickly goes for a Brainbuster, Chavo connecting. Everyone in the audience thought it was over but Van Dam somehow managed to kick out! Chavo put both hands on his head! He couldn't believe it! Chavo got back to his feet and shouted at the referee, the referee telling them he was nothing he could do, before Chavo decided that he had to try something different, and he did, Chavo climbing up top. Chavo went for the Frog Splash BUT VAN DAM GOT THE KNEES UP! Chavo grasped his chest as Van Dam got back to his feet and went for a double underhook facebuster! Van Dam is on fire! Van Dam hits the Rolling Thunder on Chavo and an Angle chant breaks out in the arena. But it doesn't matter! RVD is already climbing, is it over? 5 STAR FROG SPLASH ON CHAVO GUERRERO! Van Dam even hurt himself in that move! Van Dam hooks the leg.........1...........2..............3..Van Dam wins[*** Rating]. Van Dam gets back to his feet and the referee tries to raise his arm but Van Dam instead seems more preoccupied looking for Kurt Angle. JR says he has every right to be paranoid, this is Kurt Angle's hometown. Angle finally appears on the titantron and the crowd go nuts. Angle claps Van Dam telling him that it was a very impressive performance. But Angle warns him if that's all Van Dam's got, then Van Dam might as well not bother turning up to No Way Out? (No Way Out?). The crowd chants for Angle get louder but Angle soon silences that by telling that he doesn't care how much they chant, there is no way in hell that someone like him, an Olympic Gold Medallist, is going to step foot in a dump like that.."oh it's true!". Angle tells Van Dam that if he does decide to risk it at No Way Out and come to the PPV, then Angle will not be able responsible for his actions when he breaks his freaking Ankle! OH ITS TRUE! ITS DAMN TRUE!" The screen goes blank as Van Dam stands in the middle of the ring, man of the fans turning to an R-V-D chant instead.

We're back to JR and Foley and they tell us that we are now only moments away from the Main Event between Big Show and the Team of X-Pac and Ron Waterman. Can Vince McMahon do what he did to The Rock to the Big Show tonight? Find out, after the break!

After the break, we return to the ring for the Main Event, the Big Show making his way to the ring first. Big Show gets into the ring and salutes the crowd as his music changes for Vince's as Ron Waterman, X-Pac and The British Bulldog come on scene. All three men slowly walk down to the ramp and X-Pac is elected to start the match, JR noting the size different between the two. X-Pac gets into the ring and tries to attack Big Show but Show quickly showed the power difference as he pie faced X-Pac to the ground. X-Pac got back to his feet, Big Show laughing at X-Pac and X-Pac decided to tag out to Waterman who came into the ring hesitantly. Big Show paved the way for him and both men locked up Waterman pushing back Big Show acting all cocky before Big Show showed him exactly who was boss taking him back into his corner. Big Show opened the first pain of the night with some huge back handed chops to the torso of Waterman before dragging him to the ground. Big Show however had more than one person to deal with and got hit with a drop kick off the top from X-Pac. Waterman got back to his feet and started beating Big Show over the back with right hands before whipping him into the ropes but he failed with the shoulder tackle, Big Show grabbing hold of Waterman and headbutting him instead. X-Pac attacked Big Show with a chop block to the back of the knee, Waterman then taking advantage with a high knee. Waterman went for the cover on the Giant but the Big Show managed to kick out on the 2. Waterman continued the assault with a stiff kick to the head and went for another cover but Big Show once again got out of the pin. Waterman continued, locking Big Show in a side head lock, the Bulldog getting involved in the match allowing X-Pac to also get involved and Big Show started getting assaulted. Waterman some how manages to hit Big Show with a German Suplex, some members of the arena unable to help themselves appreciating the move. He made it look easy! Waterman hooks the leg of the Big Show but Show once again manages to kick out. Bulldog however is up to no good on the outside and he's found Waterman's lead pipe. Bulldog puts into the ring before climbing back up onto the apron. Waterman is passed the pipe by X-Pac, and he waits for Show to rise, here it goes but wait, THE BIG SHOW GRABS RON WATERMAN BY THE THROAT! X-PAC RUNS TO MAKE THE SAVE BUT HE GETS CAUGHT! DOUBLE CHOKESLAM BY THE BIG SHOW! BIG SHOW HAS DONE IT!?! Big Show makes thecover.......1........2........The British Bulldog breaks up the COUNT! DAMN IT! The referee calls for the bell! Big Show wins it by DQ as the British Bulldog begins an assault on the Big Show. The British Bulldog grabs hold of the pipe that he gave to X-Pac and cracks it over the Big Show's head. Bulldog continues on the assault choking The Big Show with the lead pipe the fans getting very heated until.......IF YOU SMELLLLLLLLLAALALALALALA WHAT THE ROCK IS COOOKING! THE ROCK IS HERE! The Rock charges down to the ring getting straight in and ducking a clothesline by the British Bulldog before hitting the Bulldog with a huge diving clothesline. Bulldog quickly gets out of the ring and heads back up the ramp quickly. The Rock wants BULLDOG but it looks like he's not gonna get hit tonight! A Smart move by the man from Manchester, England! [**1/2 Rating]. The show ends with the British Bulldog and The Rock staring each other down. What will become of this?

    HE'S BACK

Last week on Smackdown, The Rock finally got what he asked for when Vince McMahon made his return to the squared circle; Vince however was not alone. In what happened in no more than the blink of an eye, the British Bulldog shot to the ring to deliver a vicious attack on the WWF Champion, The Rock unable to fight off the 3 on 1 assault. Tonight, Vince McMahon is set to make his mark back in the WWF with some more of the same as Big Show, a giant thorn in the Corporate side is placed in a handicap match against Ron Waterman and X-Pac. I know, I actually attended a show where Fleisch, Storm, Williams and AJ Styles had a Round Robin tournament, so I know how over they are. Just trying to establish the Flyweight Title from the off as an actual belt that people want though. Lol. And back then, Hade Vansen was a face jobber.....lol.

    Sunday Night Heat

Broadcast on Sunday, 27thth January 2002 from the Breslin Center, East Lansing, Michigan

Heat kicks off in extraordinary fashion this week, Al Snow and Kevin Kelly quickly getting the welcome is as Marc Mero and Torrie Wilson make their way down for the ring. Mero collects a mic as Torrie gets into the ring, teasing the crowd before Mero also drops in telling the audience that he is glad to see that Wrestling Fans are still fickle with their support. Mero said after all, it's only been a couple of weeks since Torrie Wilson turned her back on Tajiri yet the WWF fans can't seem to get their eyes off his blonde bombshell of a woman. The fans don't react to kindly to Mero's words and he is now getting exactly what he wants boos. Mero demands the crowd silences as tonight is a very special night indeed. It's his first title defense; and the "lucky" people of Heat are the ones who get to see it (lucky people indeed *shifty*). Mero is truely excited. He is however regretful that his first defense is against a man someone as low brow as Scotty and that he feels a man of his talent should be facing real talent. Not some dancing freak show, something that Torrie agrees with completely, although the fans are less than supportive...Mero goes on to say more but Scotty 2 Hotty's music hits the arena, breaking up the speech - Mero does not look happy!

Scotty doesn't dance on his way down to the ring today, getting straight in the ring and goes toe to toe with the WWF Cruiserweight Champion, the two men resorting to pushing and shoving in the middle of the ring. Mero finally breaks the pushing with a shot causing the bell to ring and the match gets under way. Mero kicks off with a fist and kick attack, before sending Scotty into the ropes, Scotty returning with a flying clothesline to take the advantage. Scotty drops Mero with some quick forearm smashes before hitting Mero with a belly to back suplex, Scotty quickly going for the cover for the 2. Scotty gets back on top of Mero beating him down with some more shots before climbing up top and dropping Mero with a flying axehandle making, pinning Mero once more but only for the 2. Scotty acts frustrated and locks in a sleeper in the middle of the ring and this wakes Torrie up, Torrie really starting to cheer away for her new man, the fans behind her giving her some lip but she hardly pays attention. Mero begins to get some energy from Torrie's cheerleading and begins to fight out, Mero's hard left hands getting the better of the former tag team champion. Mero sends Scotty into the ropes once again and Scotty ducks the forarm attempt before taking Mero down with another clothesline. Mero gets back to his feet and walks into a suplex attempt, Mero countering before attempting a cutter but scotty manages to couner it and Mero lands hard on the floor. Scotty hits Mero with the one handed bulldog! Is it time? W-O-R-M oooh oooh oooh! Scotty hits the Worm! It's Over! But Wait! Torrie is getting into the ring. The referee quickly notices and tries to get her out, Scotty surely missing out on a huge opportunity to become WWF Cruiserweight Champion right here! Scotty gets back to his feet and the referee has to get in the way of Scotty and Torrie but wait! Mero hits Scotty with a low blow! Mero quickly makes the roll up! He's got the tights damn it! 1-2-3! Marc Mero retains the WWF Cruiserweight Championship!(Damn It!).Torrie quickly grabs the title belt and Mero joins her at the ramp way, scotty 2 Hotty looking distraught at the decision![*** Rating]

Backstage, Rikishi is seen watching highlights of the Mero match and Rikishi doesn't looked pleased, shaking is head disapprovingly. "Unbelievable way for a Champ to act". Enter William Regal. Regal says that Rikishi can not really disapprove of the actions of Marc Mero after the way he acts. Regal says that all of that dancing and jiggling, it's quite repulsive. "My Dear Boy, Have you ever heard of trousers?...I thought not!" Regal says that Rikishi is simply not fit, in any way shape or form to hold that WWF European Championship and Regal can not bare to see it besmerched any further. Regal warns that tonight is the beginning of the end of Rikishi's WWF European Champion reign!(Jolly good Mr. Regal!)

We then head back to the ring where Al Snow and Kevin Kelly greet us, Al Snow saying that the Japs are just undergoing their final preparations for the match up in which Kazuhiro will make his WWF Debut. Funaki's music hits the arena first and Funaki makes his way down to the ring to a huge pop from the crowd, the young man from Tokyo certainly getting a good following from the crowd tonight. Funaki's music finally dies down before Kazuhiro's music hits the arena and he, along with his partners TAKA and Taiyo, make their way to the ring. Kaz gets into the ring and salutes the silent fans but that didn't last long, Funaki jumping the debutant to start off the match. Funaki really took it to Kaz in the early goings taking Kaz into the corner hitting him with some hard right hands before nearly getting a pin after a hurricanrana, Kaz nearly getting caught out very early on. Funaki sent Kaz into the opposite turnbuckle, Kaz then dodging a splash attempt from Funaki before hitting Funaki with a release full nelson suplex. Kaz quickly went for a springboard moonsault but Funaki managed to dodge the move, but Kaz landed on his feet, quickly following up with a shining wizard, Kaz unlucky not to end the match right there. Kaz continued the offense with a double knee gustbuster, TAKA and Taiyo applauding highly as Kaz finally began to climb the turnbuckle. Kaz taunted the crowd from up top before finally finishing the job with a beautifully executed corkscrew 450 splash, the crowd applauding the high risk move as he hooked the leg for the 3. Kazuhiro wins! [*** Rating] While Kaz did recieve applause from the crowd directly after the match up, the crowd didn't take long to once again resume their former opinions when TAKA and Taiyo hit the ring and continued the beat down on Funaki. TAKA simply told Taiyo what to do, Taiyo taking little time to bring Funaki back to his feet just so he could take him down again with then Samoan Driver. Kaz then finished off the move with a slingshot leg drop onto the lifeless carcass of Funaki, all three men looking extremely satisfied with themselves after the demoltion.

Next up was a reminder that No Way Out is just around the corner! And what's more! Degeneration X will be there! DX will return in 14 days!

Further backstage, we join Marc Mero, Torrie Wilson and Billy Kidman as they discuss Mero's first title defense. Kidman calls the match a classic, saying that Mero really showed the world the meaning of grace when he stuck to scotty earlier in the night. Mero thanks Kidman for the complements and tells him that he could still yet be a great champion one day. Mero can sense it. Mero even went as far as to say that when he looks at Kidman, it's like looking at a younger version of himself, just not as handsome. Torrie agrees completely, Kidman finding it hard not to break a smile. Kidman asks Mero if he has any plans as to who the next opponent will be but Mero says he has no idea. Mero does guarantee however that next week, there will be another Cruiserweight Title Match and that is for damn sure! (We can hardly wait!)

Finally, to the Main Event and this Main Event is a huge one as William Regal takes on Rikishi in a non-title match up! Regal's music hits the arena first and Regal makes his way down to the ring. Regal wipes his feet on the apron before climbing into the ring and waving to all of the fans but the fans haven't forgiven him for turning his back on the WWF. Rikishi on the other hand got a huge pop from the fans, Rikishi holding his WWF European Championship high as he made his way to the ring. Rikishi will know he has a match on his hands tonight! Rikishi and Regal lock up in the middle of the ring and Rikishi uses his power to take Regal into the corner. Regal however is a ring veteran and rakes the eyes of the European Champion turning the tables and beats Rikishi down in the corner. Regal tries to take Rikishi into the opposite corner but Rikishi is far too strong and Regal gets sent crashing into the corner, Regal bouncing off and walking straight into a belly to belly suplex from the Kish, Rikishi quickly going for the cover but only getting a 2. Rikishi pulls Regal back up and Regal and sends him into the ropes, but Regal ducks the forearm smash and takes Rikishi down with a high knee, Regal following that up with a second knee drop for good measure. Regal makes the cover but Rikishi kicks out with ease on the two, Regal trying again just to make sure but still he only got the 2. Regal began to choke away on the European Champion out of frustration but nearly got disqualified in the process, Rikishi not making it easy here tonight. Regal got Rikishi back to his feet and attacked Rikishi with some upper cuts taking him into the corner before trying to choke him once more. The referee warned him again but this time costing Regal, Rikishi turning the tables and delivering Regal with some hard back hand chops before splashing Regal into the corner for good measure and Regal slumped into the corner! Oh No! William! No! here it comes! STINKFACE! Rikishi eventually got up smiling as Regal scrambled across the ring looking like he was about to vommit before Rikishi settled him down with the SAVATE KICK! This has got to be over.....1......2....thr but Regal managed to get a shoulder up. Kishi can't believe it! He questions the referee but he was sure it was only a 2 and Rikishi has no choice but to get on with the match. Rikishi pulls Regal over to the corner, you know what he wants to do now! Banzai time for Mr. Regal and Here It Comes!!!! REGAL MOVES and Rikishi lands flat on his ASS! Regal makes it back to his feet first and he has hold of Rikishi's arm here, what's he gonna do? The REGAL CUTTER ON RIKISHI! Regal makes the cover........1.......2......3 Regal wins it! [*** Rating]. The crowd go silent in shocka s Regal picks up a victory out of nowhere in this match up! This match surely makes Regal a legitimate challenger for the WWF European Title now?

Either way, Al Snow and Kevin Kelly are thankful for you tuning in! "We hope you enjoyed the show and will join us next week! God Bless and Good Night!"

    QUICK RESULTS

Marc Mero def. Scotty 2 Hotty

    Kazuhiro def. Funaki

    William Regal def. Rikishi

  9. Love the Main Event mate. Konnan and Eddie tagging. Man I hate Konnan but still it was a great match.

I was very suprised to see Alter boy Luke opening the show but it looks like you're using him well! is it me or is TNA turning a lot darker. I think your tooth is bringing the evil side out of you!!

And Nash is back...wooohoooo lol. I hope he does some amusing promos! thats all he's good for :P

Keep up the good work matey!

  10. wow, i must say I really am intruiged with this. I love the whole 13 thing going on and you've played very well as to the 13th Wrestlemania, 13th In Your House event etc etc. I'm very intruiged as to whom the 13th Angel is, esepcially with the build up your going for. After all, i dont think you've specified exactly who they are, they could be the owner of another company, a wrestler, a manager, hell the options are huge. I have to agree with thegodcomplex, Austin was getting over around this time before if memory serves me correct, Bret Hart went over him at WM13 so still a bit of time before the big push. I wouldn't be heartbroken if Sid never won the title again! And how much of a part, if any, will Kane play in the future?

All in all this diary is really intruiging and I am definately gonna keep on following this! Good luck

    Heat Preview

Scheduled to be Broadcast on Sunday, 27th January 2002 from the Breslin Center, East Lansing, Michigan

Welcome to your latest installment of Sunday Night Heat, broght to you every Sunday Night only on MTV!

    TONIGHT ON HEAT

Marc Mero makes his FIRST title Defence!!

Since Marc Mero's Royal Rumble sucess, Mero has kept himself well hidden, possibly, in an attempt to avoid unwanted attention to his beautiful new partner, Torrie Wilson and his coveted Cruiserweight Championship belt. Tonight, Mero finally comes out from the shadows to defend his Cruiserweight title against the former WWF Tag Team Champion, Scotty 2 Hotty. While it is true that Scotty has been far from impressive over the last year, Scotty 2 Hotty has hung and wrestled some of the best including wrestlers like Edge, Christian and Dean Malenko. Can Scotty turn a corner here tonight and become the WWF Cruiserweight Champion or will Scotty's career simply plummet into nothingness? tune in to find out!

    Kazuhiro DEBUTS TONIGHT!

Last week on Heat, Japan's own Funaki got viciously attacked by TAKA and his new associates Kazuhiro and Taiyo, humiliating him in front of the whole world. Funaki, however, is not the sort of man just to lay down and die and soon after the attack requested a match against one of the men that jumped him, Kazuhiro. Can Funaki get some much needed revenge or will TAKA's new force simply dominate him once more?

William Regal challenges WWF EUROPEAN CHAMPION

Does time away from Wrestling affect your skills? William Regal would argue no, especially after crushing former WWF Hardcore Champion Crash Holly last week on Heat! Tonight, however, may be a totally different story as the man from Blackpool, England, takes on the WWF European Champion Rikishi in a Non Title Match. Can Regal overcome the 400lber, or will Rikishi's size just be too much for the Brit? Tune in tonight to see if William Regal can get back on the road to WWF Championship Gold tonight in the Heat Main Event!

Tune into Sunday Night Heat, broadcast only on MTV!

    WWF Smackdown

Broadcast on the 24th January 2002 from the Breslin Center, East Lansing, Michigan

WWF Smackdown! kicks off with Michael Cole and Tazz welcoming us to the show, promising us an action packed night of Sports Entertainment. We've got a special broadcast later tonight from Test and Lance Storm, we've got a WWF Hardcore Championship Match Up between the Champion Key and Chuck Palumbo, and our Main Event, the big match, is a handicap match between the WWF Champion, The Rock and Vince McMahon's lackeys, X-Pac and Ron Waterman. But anyway, onto the first match of the night and it's between the newest addition to the WWF roster, Daffney Unger and the Veteran Ivory. Tazz and Michael Cole recap on Unger's debut and how she destroyed Jazz and Trish as Ivory makes her way to the ring. Unger gets some good heat from the crowd as she almost skips down to the ring before getting into the ring and going toe to toe with Ivory. Unger starts the match up as she means to go on, putting her hand out to Ivory before double crossing her with a kick to the gut, Unger delivering clubbing blows to the back of Ivory, Unger quickly taking control with a huge hurricanrana. Unger nearly takes the match with an inverted DDT but Ivory somehow manages to get her shoulder up and the match continues. Ivory manages to counter a vertical suplex attempt from Unger before hitting a backbreaker on the debutant. Ivory continues with the offence taking Unger down again with a knee to the face before attempting to get some fan support. Ivory gets countered as she tries to send Unger into the corner, Ivory crashing in hard to the corner before Unger splashes her for good measure. Unger sets up Ivory into the tree of woe position in the corner before delivering a stiff drop kick, Ivory taking a stiff shot, Unger then dragging Ivory out by her hair into the middle of the ring. Unger finishes the job climbing up to the top rope before hitting Ivory with a Tornado DDT for the three, Michael Cole and Tazz very much impressed with the win.(Tazz has said it before and he'll say it again...never trust a German!)[**1/2 Rating].

Next we head backstage to Test and Lance Storm who are seen chatting to one another in the distance. The Coach comes into shot and explains that as you can see the background, the two Canadians are avidly preparing for the press conference later in the day. The Coach says he's going to try and get a word with the two of them. The Coach drags the two camera men over with him but Storm quickly notices shouting "No Comments" slamming the door closed in front of the Coach (Looks like no one is going to get the early scoop on the conference). However next up is Mr. Thursday Night, and his name is Rob-Van-Dam

RVD's music hits the arena as he makes his way to the arena, the fans excited to see one of the real MVPs of the Alliance Invasion. Van Dam climbs into the ring and does his piece to the crowd; the crowd just eating it up before grabbing a mic and doing what he came here today. RVD tells the audience that he hopes they weren't expecting a gimmick filled promo about everything being cool because he isn't quite in the mood for it tonight. RVD says that while many of the people in this industry thing that Rob Van Dam has had a gift wrapped career, RVD promises the people that his career has been far from easy and that everything he has earnt everything he ever achieved in this business. Van Dam says that he hears people like Kurt Angle yapping on about how places like ECW were just a place for the rejects of wrestling, it makes him sick to his stomach. RVD said that ECW was a place where wrestlers that were tossed aside because they were too short, too old, too young or whatever to make it in this business and they got off their asses and showed the world that have exactly who they are and what they can do. RVD says that's why he loved ECW so much, because the passion and dedication was so much more than people like Kurt Angle could possibly fathom. RVD says what Angle's problem is, is that he is still living in the past of his former glory. Angle thinks that just because he won an Olympic Gold Medal, that every single person in this business should step aside. Van Dam said that when he signed for the World Wrestling Federation, on the behest of Vince McMahon and Paul Heyman he adds, there was no way he was ever going to stop being who he was or doing what he does and Van Dam got the respect of everyone in the WWF, just like he did at ECW. Van Dam says that while Kurt Angle was spraying milk at Stone Cold Steve Austin, or singing camp fire songs to Vince McMahon, Rob Van Dam was putting on Five Star Matches with people like Jeff Hardy, Chris Jericho and many others and RVD made his name and deserved to be in things like the Royal Rumble just as much as anyone else. Kurt Angle's music then hits the arena, Angle immediately making an appearance at the entrance. Angle says that Van Dam has a cheek to talk about how Kurt Angle is living off his former glory. Angle says in case he doesn't remember, he won an Olympic Gold Medal with a broken freaking Neck. Angle says, in case RVD doesnt remember, Kurt Angle has beaten Stone Cold, The Rock, The Undertaker and many more wrestlers, people that Van Dam couldn't beat if he even tried. Angle says in case Van Dam didn't forget, Kurt Angle is a two time WWF Champion and a former WCW Champion. Angle says if Van Dam doesn't think thats enough to be given a tiny bit of respect, than Van Dam doesn't know the difference between his head and his ass. Angle says that this "ECW phase" that the WWF fans are going through is just the flavour of the month, and that while sooner or later, RVD will just be a flash in the pan and Kurt Angle will still be an Olympic Gold Medallist and great All American Freaking Athlete and that is damn true! Angle then turns his back on Van Dam and starts to walk off. Van Dam wants to say something though and he grabs Angle's arm but Angle swings back and attacks him with the microphone. Angle begins to assault van Dam stopping away at him before hitting him over again with the mic busting Van Dam open. Angle then hits the Angle Slam on the former ECW Alumni before posing for the crowd, Angle is truely hated here! (Angle has lost it....)

We take a quick recess before returning backstage. Michael Cole and Tazz remind us that we are moments away from the WWF Hardcore Championship match between Key and Chuck Palumbo, the cameraman following Palumbo. But wait! there's Sabu! Sabu and Palumbo go face to face before Sabu does something suprising. He puts out his hand and the two men shake. Michael Cole praises the two wrestlers but you can be damn sure that Palumbo and Key won't feel the same! That match is next!

Chuck Palumbo's music hits the arena as Chuck makes his way down to ringside, carrying a steel chair in tow. Palumbo raises the chair to the crowd and Palumbo gets a small cheer for his efforts, Palumbo looking decisively cool and collected for his very first singles title match in the WWF. Key's music then hits the arena and Key and Charles Wright join us, Key also bringing a chair with him. Key handed his WWF Hardcore Title belt to Charles Wright before charging to the ring and the two Wrestlers quickly duled off against each other with the chairs, the chairs making a loud impact on collision in the ring. Both men drop the chairs as the crowd gets behind him them both, and the two lock up. Key takes advantage with a low shot before driving Palumbo into the ropes sending knees into the gut of the former WCW wrestler. Key scoops up Palumbo and slams him face first into the ground, attempting a quick pin but Palumbo is too good for that and kicks out. Key gets onto Palumbo and beats him down with some hard right hands before going for an elbow drop but Palumbo dodges the move, Palumbo coming back with a kick to the head before making a pin attempt but Key kicks out with force. Palumbo sends Key to the outside and Palumbo introduces him, like so many others to objects such as the ring barricade and the steel steps, Key bouncing off of each with grace before getting shot down with a clothesline, Palumbo making another cover attempt but once again for the 2. Palumbo began to look frustrated and went under the ring to grab some weapons and what did he find? a metal chain!! Palumbo pulled the chain out from under the ring and raised it to the fans before he started slowly wrapping it around his wrist. But wait! here comes Charles Wright with a singapore cane!!! Wright hits Palumbo over the back with great force marking him up, Palumbo dropping to his knees. Wright chases Palumbo around the ring marking him up before Palumbo heads to the ring to get some free space. Wright follows after taunting the fans but only gets the Jungle Kick for his troubles. Palumbo's fight with Wright however ignored the fact that Key was still alive and dangerous and Palumbo did not notice Key's return to the ring, Key crashing the steel chair he used earlier over his head. Key repeatedly assaulted Palumbo with the chair Palumbo unable to do anything as Key slid the chair underneath Palumbo's body before making his way up the top. Here it comes! MOONSAULT! Key once again made the cover and this time got the three! Key is still the WWF Hardcore Champion![***1/2 Rating]. After the match, Key helped up Charles Wright who looked furious at Palumbo - he wants Key to hit him with the Victimizer! But WAIT, here comes Sabu with chair! Sabu sprints to the ring, Key quickly dropping Palumbo and climbing out of the ring to face him but he can't protect himself from the chair Sabu chucking it hard into the body of Key. Sabu gets onto the apron and hits the Asai Moonsault on Key taking him down to the floor. Sabu is on fire. Sabu mounts Key and starts to beat away on him with right hands. Wright tries to make the save but Sabu simply knocks him down with a shot before going back to work on Key, Wright having no choice but to call down secruity who eventually make the break up. (Sabu really wants a piece of Key!!!)

"ARE YOU READDDDDDDDDDDY?????" It's time for another Degeneration X moment. Today it's time to revist the time when DX hired Mike Tyson to be the special ring enforcer for the Wrestlemania Match between HBK and Austin. Degeneration X are returning the World Wrestling Federation! (But when?)

Next up is more information in regards to the New WWF competition that's advertised on WWF.com. Why do you love the WWF? Send in your answers to the address displayed on WWF.com for a chance to have your reasons placed on the website and tickets to WWF No Way Out! It's going to be HUGE!

It's time to head back to the ring as Kane's pyros go off before the Big Red Monster makes his way to the ring accompanied by the boil on the face of humanity, Paul Heyman. Heyman immediately gets down to business grabbing a mic and telling the world that after much consideration, he is "deeply distressed" about the possible match at No Way Out, just like Stone Cold must be. Paul Heyman said that he sat back in his sofa at home and wondered, he wondered why Stone Cold hadn't returned to the WWF yet. And then it struck him! He realised the answer. The reason Austin isn't here is because Austin knows the real truth of the possible match up; Austin knows that if he goes face to face with Kane, Austin can't win. Austin is getting old, his knees are hurting. Austin just isn't the same man that he once was - not that he ever could beat Kane in the form he is! Heyman says that Austin doesn't want to face Kane because losing to Kane would not only destroy his image and also possibly land dissapoint the fans, losing to Kane would also destroy Austin's image as the biggest badass in Sports History. Heyman said simply put, Stone Cold would be just another helpless soul in the midst of a Kane beating that he would never ever forget! Heyman wanted to go on but then Crash's music hit the arena! Crash (Crash had heard enough!) marched down to the ring climbing into the ring and quickly starting the match. Crash started off with some right and left hands at the big man but Kane didn't even move before eventually pie facing Crash to the floor. Kane sent Crash quickly into the corner and lifted Crash onto the top of the turnbuckle before letting loose with some hard upper cuts before tossing Crash back down to the ground like a rag doll! Kane grabbed hold of Crash again and he began to military press him in the middle of the ring before dropping him face first into the mat. Kane didn't look like he was in any mood for playing games as he climbed up to the top turnbuckle and he hit Crash with a huge flying clothesline! Heyman grinned from side to side as Kane raised his arm back, the crowd feeding Kane some huge heat, before Kane finished the job and ended the match with a huge chokeslam to hell! But Kane wasn't done. Kane dragged Crash back to his feet before hitting him with a second chokeslam, exactly on the same spot as the previous. Kane finally made the pinfall. Crash was simply no match for the Big Red Machine! [** Rating]. After the match, Heyman gets back into the ring and raises gestures that Kane is Number One! Will Austin ever make a return?

We then go backstage to the sound of arguing as some of the staff are holding back Daffney Unger and Trish Stratus who are having a full out argument. Unger says that Trish Stratus is nothing but a joke of champion. A dumb blonde! Trish begs Daffney to put her money where her mouth is, both women looking desperate to get a piece of each other but Lawler turns up and tries to save the day. Lawler said that he's told Unger this and he'll tell her again, no one walks into the World Wrestling Federation and just demands a title shot. If she wants a shot, then she'll have to prove she's up to it. Lawler says next week, she's going to have another chance to do that when she goes one on one with Terri (Wha??????). Unger does not look impressed!

Anywho, it's time to return to the ring and it's time for the WWF press conference with Test and Lance Storm. The ring has been set up nicely with with red carpet and tables as this very serious press conference begins with Test and Storm coming down to the ring together to some huge heat from the fans. Test gets on the mic first and says that he'd like to thank everyone for being patient but with the amount of crap that most of the wrestling fans speak across the net, neither him of Storm wanted any crap being spread that wasn't true so there were no snippets of information handed out whatsoever. Test said that he wants to inform people about the current situation with the Undertaker and that his current statements still stand when says that he a) wants Vince McMahon to book the match and b)will not have the match until No Way Out. Test adds that the wait is nearly over and that he has it on good authority that the saviour of the World Wrestling Federation, Vincent Kennedy McMahon, will be returning to WWF TV as soon as RAW next week and Test already has a good idea of what the stipulation is going to be. Test said that Taker may be the Deadman, but come No Way Out, he won't be walking! Storm finally comes on the microphone and praises Test. Storm says that Test is one of the best wrestlers this business he has ever seen and it is truely an hour to be standing beside him. Storm says that ever since that fateful Smackdown one week ago, everyone has been asking him, Why Lance Why? Why did you attack Edge? You all act like there is some huge conspiracy going on, maybe Edge has slept with my partner or something? I assure you that no such thing has happened because if it had, Lance wouldn't have been quite so forgiving. Storm says his attack on Edge is strictly a business decision. Edge is nothing more than a stepping stone to Storm and that he feels that he is simply able to take advantage of a situation. Why does he think he is able to? Well, because Edge isn't as talented as everyone thinks he is. Storm says he that he is a student of the business and he's watched all the tapes, he's watched all of the shows and Edge is nothing more than an example of the mediocrity that overshadows this glorious business. The crowd start to heavily boo Storm and Test has to tell them to pipe down. But then, Edge's music hits the arena and the fans go wild as Edge appears at the entrance. Edge sprints down to the ring and slides in taking it to both Storm and Test. Edge clotheslines down Test, then Storm, then Test again. Edge then drives Storm into the corner and starts to beat away at him with right hands before Test attacks Edge from behind. Test and Storm start to take advantage of Edge but not for long as The Undertaker's music hits. Taker arrives in the ring and he punches Test then Storm, then Test, then Storm. Taker then sends Test into the corner before whipping Storm into him. Taker then goes for a splash but both men quickly disperse and leave the ring, Test and Storm deciding to hightail it than fight. Taker towers in the ring as Edge gets back to his feet and the two men shake hands, leaving Test and Storm running scared!

Next, we join The Rock who is with The Coach prior to the Main Event Handicap Match. The Coach asks The Rock if after two clean wins against X-Pac and Ron Waterman, what must The Rock's two opponents be thinking tonight? The Rock, always willing to spill his guts, gives The Coach an evil stare before grabbing the mic and getting a cheap pop from the audience! (yes yes, we know The Rock has come back to East Lansing...). The Rock says that some might say that even though The Rock is on his own show, Smackdown, the odds look quite stacked up against him tonight as he walks into a handicap match against two of the WWF's toughest SOBs. However, just like The Rock has done time and time again, in every single type of job, The Rock is going to get the job done. The Rock says that it is obvious that Vince McMahon wants him to be beaten down but The Rock asks, if you want The Rock so bad, why don't you step up to the bat yourself McMahon? The Rock will lay it down again, If McMahon wants the Rock, then why dont you JUST BRING IT! If you Smellllll What The Rock is coooooooking! The Rock pushes the Coach out of the way and makes his way down to the ring. The Rock in a handicap Match is NEXT!

So here we are at our Main Event. Michael Cole and Tazz discuss the match as X-Pac and Ron Waterman make their way down to the ring for this match up, X-Pac dancing his way down to the ring while Waterman follows behind in the usual bodyguard manner. X-Pac and Waterman get into the ring X-Pac continuing the taunt as Waterman simply stands there; its obvious the fans really hate these two. The fans quickly turned to boos though when The Rock's music hit the arena and The Rock sprinted down the ramp into the ring and the match began. The Rock quickly both man to the down with multiple shots, before clotheslining X-Pac out of the ring. Waterman then tried to jump the Great One but The Rock quickly turned it around, The Rock laying the Smacketh down on Waterman's candyass! (Just had to put that in!!). The Rock got Waterman back to his feet and sent him into the ropes, before kicking The Rock in the midsection before hitting him with an inverted DDT, The Rock kicking out from the pin attempt on the two. Waterman keeps on the beat down sending The Rock to the corner before choking him, the referee halting him momentarily before he got back on it. Waterman tagged in X-Pac who continued on the assault using his quick feet to do the majority of the damage, The Rock nearly getting caught from the three off a great spinning heel kick! (Just as JR would say, that X-Pac is quicker than a hiccup!).X-Pac sent the Rock back into the same corner and beat him with some back handed chops before tagging in Waterman and Waterman driving his knee into The Rock's abdomen. Waterman continued the pressure on The Rock, bringing the Peoples' Champion down again, this time with a belly to belly suplex, Waterman once again trying for the cover but The Rock just wasn't going to quit like that. Waterman still managed to stay on top putting the Rock in a sleeper hold. The Rock seemed to be dozing off but when The Rock checked, he was still full of life and began to power out. The Rock managed to turn Waterman but Waterman got the momentum back with an eye rake only to get it stolen from him once more with a spinebuster. The Rock got back to his feet and dodged an X-Pac attack chucking him out of the ring before out of nowhere hitting The Rockbottom on Waterman. The Rock went for the cover.....1....2....The Rock is pulled out of the ring. IT'S THE BRITISH BULLDOG!!!. [*** Rating]. The Rock has won this match but he won't feel a winner as Bulldog chucks the Rock into the steel steps. Bulldog rolls The Rock before getting back into the ring with all three men eventually getting in on the attack. The Bulldog hits The Rock with the Running Powerslam before raising his arms to the crowd as familiar music hits...IT'S VINCE MCMAHON! Vince does his estranged walk to the ring, climbing inside and orders Bulldog to hit The Rock again, Bulldog hitting The Rock with a second running powerslam the crowd delivering a huge amount of heat as Bulldog points hands The Rock to Vince on a silver plate. Vince then cheekily gets down onto the floor and hooks the leg of The Rock, X-Pac counting the 3. Michael Cole and Tazz simply could not believe it, Michael Cole calling Vince a sick and twisted individual who is in love with no one but himself! Vince McMahon is back Damn It!!!

    WWF Smackdown! Preview

To be Broadcast on the 24th January 2002 from the Breslin Center, East Lansing, Michigan

After losing his WWF Championship at the Royal Rumble, Vince McMahon looks hell bent on destroying the Rock's career! After several failed attempts to strip the WWF Champion of his Gold, Vince McMahon looks to have decided on taking a different route with a good old fashioned beat down tonight on Smackdown as The Rock is set to face X-Pac and Ron Waterman in a handicap Match. Can Vince's lackeys finally get the job done or will The Rock once again reign supreme? You can be sure Vince McMahon is slowly losing his patience!

However this is far from all that is happening on Smackdown this week! After an announcement last week on RAW that he wanted one final match with The Undertaker at No Way Out, Test has taken a step back from all the action, looking more intent on disrupting other people's problems than dealing with his own, leaving The Undertaker very frustrated. Tonight, Test once again avoids the action as he and Lance Storm have requested a press conference to discuss....stuff. Find out exactly what is on the Canadian's minds later on tonight!

BUT! Test and Lance Storm are not the only men with things on their mind. Tonight, Rob Van Dam has demanded some mic time as he finally breaks the silence after being viciously attacked by Kurt Angle just over a week ago! You can be sure that Van Dam will have something strong to say about Kurt Angle!

After threatening Sabu earlier in the week, Charles Wright looks to demonstrate tonight just exactly why Key is the most dominant Hardcore Wrestler in Sports Entertainment when he puts his WWF Hardcore Championship on the line against WWF newcomer Chuck Palumbo. One person who will certainly be paying plenty of attention to that match tonight is the death defying superstar Sabu. Will Sabu step up to the bat or will he cower away just like Charles Wright suggested? This match is surely one to keep an eye on!

Daffney Unger will also be in action tonight making her WWF debut against the Women's Veteran, Ivory. With Unger making it evidently clear that she has no respect for the Women's division here in the WWF, will Ivory awaken her to the true nature of WWF Women's Wrestling or will Unger do exactly as she said and dominate? You can be sure that this match will be raising the eyebrows of many of the WWF women's wrestlers, especially WWF Womens Champion Trish Stratus and the former number one contender, Jazz.

Another man in action tonight is Kane who is set to take on none other than Crash Holly. Kane has been simply unstoppable since his Survivor Series and looks tonight to build on that against a man who surely is no match for the Big Red Monster. Kane and Heyman have both asked for Austin but Austin has no showed since the Royal Rumble. Will Austin finally return tonight? We can only hope!

    WWF RAW

Broadcast on Monday, 21st of January, 2002 LIVE from the Joe Louis Arena, Michigan

Hosted by Jim Ross and Mick Foley

We open up RAW with the same old RAW IS WAR video before we are welcomed the show by JR and Mick Foley. It's going to be an explosive night of entertainment (again...), and it's kicking off right now with the Suicidal Homicidal Genocidial Death Defying Sabu!

Sabu vs. Justin Credible (Hardcore Match)

Sabu makes his way to the ring to a huge pop from the crowd, with the ECW original certainly becoming a big hit with the fans. The same can't be said for Justin Credible who got some proper heel heat as he made his way to the ring with a justifiable look of concern on his face. Credible looked to have cold feet in the start of the match up staying on the outside of the ring demanding the ref join him. Credible began complaining about the fans being on his back and he was gesturing that a certain section of the audience left the arena but with no such luck (bloody hooligans). Sabu quickly broke up the complains with a suicide dive to the outside both men crashing to the ground to a huge pop from the audience. Sabu sent Credible hard into the steel steps before hitting JC with a bodyslam leg drop combo nearly getting an early pinfall. Sabu tries to inflict more pain on the tag team partner of Raven with a whip attempt into the ring barricades but Credible makes the counter sending Sabu in hard instaed before dropping him with a huge implant DDT for the pin but Sabu somehow manages to kick out. Credible then brings the big guns out and pulls out a Singapore Cane beating Sabu over the back multiple around the ring. Sabu slides back into the ring to avoid any more shots, Credible deciding that this is a good time to celebrate raising his cane to the crowd. Sabu, however, didn't agree and took Credible down seconds later with a baseball slide before climbing to the outside of the apron and taking Credible down with an Asai Moonsault (The ECDub chant is back in the house). Sabu decides it's time to bring out his weapon of choice borrowing Lilian Garcia's seat and throwing it into the face of the former ECW Champion before pointing to the sky (Dude...there's only lights up there). Sabu brings Credible back to the ring and sends him hard into the corner. Sabu wastes little time taking Credible down with the Air Sabu, Credible colliding hard and the fans enjoying every second of it! Sabu wants to end with another big spot and so he shall as Sabu finishes the job with the flying Arabian Facebuster, the fans counting the three as Sabu picks up a huge win!

    Winner - Sabu

    Match Rating - ***

    Impressive Sabu! Very Impressive

After the match, Sabu gets out of the ring and high fives some of the crowd members only to be interupted by the music of WWF Hardcore Champion Key and his Manager, Charles Wright. Charles Wright professes his delight for finally having a man in the World Wrestling Federation that is worthy to face the mighty Key. Wright said that everyone knows that ECW was truely the place at one time for Hardcore Wrestling and Sabu is a fantastic product of those times, there is no doubting that. Wright said that you might even push the boat and say that Sabu was somewhat of a legend but be whatever he be, there is one thing that he definately is not and that is Key. Wright said that he's heard the stories, he's heard the backstage banter and he knows Sabu wants a shot at the WWF Hardcore Title, but Wright thinks that that wouldn't be very wise. Wright said that Hardcore Wrestling as a new image, something that someone like Sabu couldn't comprehend and that if Sabu was smart, and Wright feels that he is, he'd take heed of this warning and move on. Maybe buy a house by the Coast in Florida or take up a new hobby like Fishing. Who knows? Either way, it is time for Sabu to retire. Wright tells Sabu to do the right thing and retire of his own accord before Key has to do it for him. Sabu is less than impressed with the threats and picks up a steel chair and approaches Key and Wright who both begin to look nervous but nothing ever becomes of it as Justin Credible gets in the way and gets a chair to the face for his troubles allowing Wright and Key to quickly hightail it. Sabu doesn't look like he's going to retire anytime soon!

    Kane(w/Paul Heyman) vs. Val Venis

Kane's pyros hit the ring and Kane makes his way to the ring accompanied by Paul Heyman to some decent heel heat from the audience. Kane does his pyro trick in the middle of the ring as Heyman watches on clapping and shouting, before the two of them join up again on the far side of the ring as Val Venis makes his way down. Val Venis resumes his Val's Towel gimmick, playing up for the women as Kane watches on. Val grins as he enters the ring but it quickly disappears as he notices the 7ft monster climb into the ring straightening his glove ready for the match. The bell goes and Val tries to take advantage with some right handed shots to the big man but Kane barely moves, catching the hand of Venis twisting his wrist around nearly breaking it. Val breaks away from the hold with a low kick, bouncing quickly off the ropes to gain some momentum but gets a huge boot to the face for his troubles. Kane pulls Val back to his feet and pushes him into the corner delivering some huge upper cuts, Val being totally dominated by Kane. Kane drops Val with a side walk slam. Kane goes up top and hits Venis with a flying clothesline before finally finishing Venis off with a huge chokeslam, Heyman screaming with delight as the Big Red Machine picks up the win.

    Winner - Kane

    Match Rating - **

Heyman grabs a mic before climbing into the ring and raises the arm of the Big Red Machine as Kane looks on at the lifeless body of Venis. "Kane has changed and not for the better" remarks JR (No Sign of Austin for another show eh?)

Women's Title Match at No Way Out?

Lawler is backstage in his office speaking on his mobile when Lawler stops and smiles as the woman who attacked Trish and Jazz last week appears in his office. She introduces here as Daffney Unger but names are not important here. Unger says that when she signed with the WWF a few weeks ago, she was told that the Women's Wrestlers in the World Wrestling Federation were of a top quality, a talent that can not be found anywhere else. But Unger says she can't seem to place them anywhere. Trish Stratus? a wrestler? Unger said even the toughest bitch here, Jazz, was just too easy and Unger says that they might as well just give her the damn title. Lawler tells her to hold on and not get carried away and that he just wants to see how impressive she really is before he starts handing out title matches. So on Smackdown, it's going to be Ivory vs. Daffney Unger. Unger tells Lawler it will be a piece of cake and walks out, Lawler suprised at how aggressive she really is.

    Edge vs. Test (Non-Title Match)

Test made his way to the ring first to some huge heet from the audience, Test making a rude gesture to a middle age man nearly the bottom of the ramp before climbing into the ring and taunting the other side of the crowd. Edge's music then hit the arena as Edge got a small pop from the audience. Edge's positive start however was quickly scuppered by the arrival of Lance Storm who attacked Edge from behind taking him to the ground knocking him down to the bottom of the ramp before sending him straight into the steel steps. Storm sent Edge into the ring and Test began an early beat down stomping away on the former Intercontinental Champion. Test sent Edge to corner of the ring and began to choke away on him, Test letting the ref count to four before breaking the choke before starting it over again. Test set up Edge with the pump handle slam but he managed to counter dropping behind Test before bringing on an attack with some right hands taking Test down with a raised knee. Edge got down on his hands and knees and hammered away at Test before pulling off a leg drop on the Rumble Runner Up, almost getting a shock win but Test managed to get the shoulder up. Edge continued to be on the aggressive sending Test into the corner before hitting him with a tackle, Test then getting hit with the Downward Spiral but Test managed to once again get the shoulder up. Edge was on fire and the fans were right behind him. Edge went for the Spear on Test but Test somehow managed to dodge the bullet as Edge went straight into the turnbuckle seperating his shoulder. Test took advantage of the possession finishing Edge off with the big boot for the win.

    Winner - Test

    Match Rating - ***

After the match, Lance Storm got back into the ring and Test and Storm began to unload on Edge, Test hitting a second big boot on the former Intercontinental Champion before Storm hit locked in the Boston Crab. Storm's party was however ruined by the entrance of the Undertaker who sprinted to the ring, both Storm and Test hightailing out of the ring and through the crowd as the Deadman helped Edge back to his feet. How long can Test get away with this for?

    Backstage

Backstage, Kurt Angle is whining to one of the make up ladies about the fact that his new one piece wasn't ready for tonight when Bradshaw turns up and tries to calm down the situation. Angle however is furious that Bradshaw stuck his nose in and Angle promises that Bradshaw is going to pay for being nosey.

Kurt Angle vs. Bradshaw (Non-Title Match)

Both men come to the ring and the two of them lock up, Angle quickly taking Bradshaw down to the mat with amateur wrestling moves. Bradshaw powers out of a side headlock but then walks straight into a side suplex from Angle; Angle is looking fired up. Angle took Angle beat away on Bradshaw in the corner making out that everything was too easy and Angle paid for his confidence, Bradshaw turning it around before beating the hell out of him with the right hands before Angle connected with a big boot from the Big Texas. Bradshaw then nearly got a huge upset with a fallaway slam, Angle being incredibly lucky to kick out. Bradshaw tried to end the match with the clothesline from hell but Angle dodged the attempt before hitting him with three German Suplexes in quick succession knocking the bejesus out of the former Tag Team Champion. Angle finished off hitting Bradshaw with the Angle Slam for the 3, Angle getting back to his feet and raising his arms to the crowd as they boo the Olympic Gold Medallist.

    Winner - Kurt Angle

    Match Rating - ***

Time for another DX Promo: This week, we revisit the time where DX invaded the WCW in military attire! DX will return!

    Backstage with The Rock

The Rock is backstage with The Coach who gets straight to the bottom line with the interview asking The Rock about gameplans tonight. The Rock takes off his sunglasses and gives The Coach a disrespecting stare before taking the mic and greeting the fans. The Rock is finally back in Michigan people! The Rock tells the Coach not to sweat, The Rock knows that he is The Coach's favorite wrestler. The Rock says that in answer to The Coach's question, The Rock does indeed have a gameplan and it goes something along the lines of walking to the ring, saluting the fans, saluting every single one of them, then waiting for his opponent, possibly shaking his hand, staring him out, getting some of that wrestling psychology in before taking his boo, shining it up real nice and shoving it straight up Ron Waterman's candyass! The Rock says he's said it before and he'll say it again. It doesn't matter if you're tall, your short, you're skinny or your fat, The Rock will take them all on. If you smell what The Rock is cooking?

The Rock © vs. Ron Waterman (WWF Championship Match)

This Main Event was pretty much a repeat of the Main Event of Smackdown between The Rock and X-Pac with The Rock taking charge in early goings, The Rock leading the pace in the match taking Waterman down witha bunch of clotheslines before sending him to the outside of the ring. The Rock follows Waterman outside and introduces him to a few objects, throwing him head first straight into each one culminating with the announce table. Waterman however counters the second shot into the table, turning the tables on The Rock and chucking him in there. Waterman then sends The Rock head first into the ring post. Waterman desperately tries to capitalise on the move sending The Rock back into the ring before hooking the leg, The Rock managing to kick out on the two. Waterman begins to take some control in the match beating down The Rock with huge right fists before hitting him with a big spinebuster and goes for the cover again but once more The Rock kicks out. Waterman, now concerned, locks The Rock in a head lock knowing that he was only a miliseconds away from becoming the WWF Champion. The Rock however begins to power out and despite all of Waterman's abilities, is not strong enough to hold The Rock, The Rock sending Waterman with some huge shots before taking him down with a back body drop before hitting him with a belly to belly suplex. X-Pac runs down to the ring to try and save Waterman but The Rock takes him out of the equation before he's even able to do anything. Waterman tries to come back into the match but The Rock dodges a clothesline attempt before somehow managing to pull off a beautiful DDT. The Rock then hits the People's Elbow on Waterman before hooking the leg for the three. The Rock does it again!

    Winner - The Rock

    Match Rating - ***

The Rock ends the show celebrating with the crowd while X-Pac and Waterman regroup up the ramp. Waterman and X-Pac have let down Vince McMahon again! Thank you for joining the show! I hope you all enjoyed it! Till Next Time! Good night!

    Raw Preview

Scheduled to be broadcast on Monday, 21st of January, 2002 LIVE from the Joe Louis Arena, Michigan

    It Rolls On...

One week removed from the Royal Rumble and we are well on our way to Wrestlemania. However, while the WWF Superstars know that Wrestlemania is just around the corner, they know their path is not clear. As between now and then is a place and that is No Way Out! One person who has got to wonder if he'll make No Way Out is The Rock who still looks to be a marked man as he goes one on one with Ron Waterman tonight for the WWF Championship. Jerry Lawler explains exclusively on WWF.com that while Vince is not going to be physically present on RAW, there is no way in hell that Vince is just going to allow The Rock to just sit back and relax. Can Vince McMahon pry the WWF title away from The Rock or will The Rock once again walk out with the gold?

Another man that is making a big build up to No Way Out is the Royal Rumble Runner Up Test. Last week, Test declared that him and The Undertaker had some unfinished business and that he wanted this business to be solved at No Way Out. Can Test get the last laugh over the Deadman? Who knows? Lets see how he fares tonight when he takes on the former WWF Intercontinental Champion Edge in singles action.

In addition, Paul Heyman announced earlier that Kane will be in action today against none other than former Intercontinental Champion Val Venis. Heyman promises that just as he did last week, Kane is going to show Stone Cold Steve Austin just exactly who the hell he is. And if that isn't enough, the Suicidal Homicidal Genocidal Death Defying Sabu will also be in action tonight taking on Justin Credible in a Hardcore Rules Match. With all this in mind, you can guarantee that WWF RAW is going to be a slobberknocker!

    Sunday Night Heat

Broadcast on Sunday, 20th January 2002 from the All States Arena, Illinois

Welcome to your latest installment of Sunday Night Heat, brought to you every Sunday Night only on MTV!

The show kicks off with Kevin Kelly and Al Snow welcoming us all to another edition of Sunday Night Heat! Lilian Garcia gets into the ring as we are ready to kick off with our opening match of the night!

    Referee: Charles Robinson

    William Regal vs. Crash Holly

The music of William Regal hit in the arena as he made his way down to the ring for the opening match here on Heat against Crash Holly.

    The Start:

Regal and Crash lock up in the middle of the ring; Crash tries to work the arm of Regal, but Regal counters putting Crash in a wrist lock. Crash tries to counter going to the ropes but Regal takes Crash down with a shoulder block. Crash gets back to his feet and Regal hits him with a couple of arm drags before sending him into the corner, before knocking his head off with a clothesline. Crash comes out dazed before getting hit with a huge exploder suplex by Regal, Regal going for the pin but he only gets the two.

    The Finish:

Regal mounts Crash and delivers some forarms to his head before going for an elbow drop but Crash moved out of the way. Both men got back to their feet and Regal swung first but Crash countered and went for a quick roll up, Regal almost losing his head with the sneak attack. Regal got back to his feet and took Crash down with a stiff clothesline before finishing him off with the Regal Cutter. Regal got back to his feet and quickly decided against the pinfall, lifting Crash back up instead. Regal decisively made his point, kicking Crash into the gut before hitting him with a double underhook powerbomb before putting Crash out of his misery for the three.

    Winner - William Regal

    Aftermath:

Regal got back to his feet to a large amount of Heat from the audience, Regal blatently irritated by something, even refusing for the referee to raise his arm. Regal simply stood in the middle of the ring, a grimace on his face, until finally decided that he had had enough and began to make an exit. As he dropped to the canvas, Regal finally stared back at the devistation in the ring, his grimace changing to a small grin, Regal truely happy with his assault here tonight!

    Backstage:

Shortly after the match, we are informed by Kevin Kelly that during the match there was some commotion between TAKA Michinoku and Funaki. We are taken back to the fight where there are a bunch of people watching as Funaki and TAKA argue in Japanese toe to toe. Al Snow adds that obviously Funaki said something that made TAKA flip because TAKA then attacked Funaki and the two men started to brawl. Funaki took it straight to TAKA throwing some stiff hard punches before chucking TAKA over some plastic tables backstage. We are told the fight goes on before Funaki is attacked from behind by a man of Japanese decent who really takes it to Funaki. As the footage goes on, Snow adds that while Funaki was able to take on the second man, he wasn’t able to take on the third man who attacked Funaki over the back with the steel chair. The third man, having gained the advantage over Funaki, then hit him with the Samoan driver onto the concrete floor. All three men eventually join up and shake hands as Funaki lies rigidly on the floor. It looks like TAKA has made some new friends.

    Competiton time in WWF.com!

After Kevin Kelly and Al Snow calmed down about the Funaki incident, Kevin Kelly said that on a lighter note, it's competition time and the competition is called "Why do you love the WWF?". WWF.com are inviting all the fans from across the USA to send in short essays explaining why they love the World Wrestling Federation? Check it out on WWF.com, all terms and conditions apply but get this...the top 12 entrants not only will have their essays uploaded onto WWF.com but the lucky winners will also be invited to see No Way Out, live from the Bradley Center in Milwakee on February the 10th, 2002 and all expenses will be paid! What a competition!

    Referee: Jack Doan

    Billy Kidman vs. The Hurricane

The Hurricane’s music hits the ring as he makes his way to the ring, Kevin Kelly announcing that he’s just heard from the back that Funaki has been taken away to Hospital for a scan and so this match has now become a singles match. The Hurricane gets in the ring and poses for the fans, the WWF fans surprisingly a sucker for the WWF’s very own superhero. Next up is Billy Kidman who makes his way to the ring to a small bit of heat from the crowd.

    The start:

Billy Kidman and The Hurricane start off the match locking up in the ring as Marc Mero and Torrie Wilson appear at the entrance, Mero sporting his WWF Cruiserweight Championship belt. Mero and Torrie make their way to the announce table as Hurricane sends Billy Kidman into the ropes before dropping him with a shoulder tackle before posing to the audience. Kidman and Hurricane then lock up again in the middle of the ring Kidman this time taking Hurricane to the corner beating away on him with some right hands before drop kicking him into the turnbuckle. Kidman then starts to choke the Hurricane with his boot, Kidman in total control. Kidman drags Hurricane back to his feet before hitting him with a vertical suplex before going for the pin, Hurricane lucky to kick out on the two.

    Mid-match notes:

Kidman gets to the top rope and nails the Hurricane with dropkick but once again only gets the two. Kidman gets back to his feet and starts to punch away on the Hurricane before sending him into the ropes, but the Hurricane dodges the clothesline attempt instead bouncing off the ropes on the other side and hitting Kidman with a diving cross body. Both men get back to their feet but it the Hurricane who’s fastest and he gets a few lucky shots on Kidman before taking him down with the strangehold legsweep, Mero commenting that so far both superstars were not impressing him as Torrie Wilson made it abundantly clear that she felt that Mero was the best Cruiserweight Champion ever despite having not defended the title yet.

The Hurricane quickly goes up top and monopolises on the possession hitting Kidman with a flying neckbreaker before going for the pin but the ref only counts the two. The Hurricane sends Kidman into the turnbuckle but Kidman uses the turnbuckle to flip behind the Hurricane and locks in a waist lock, the Hurricane having to use his elbows to break the hold before taking Kidman down once more with the X-Plex before going for another cover but Kidman once again managed to kick out on the two, surprising everyone in the arena except Mero of course.

    The Finish:

The Hurricane hit the topspin facebuster on Kidman taking him to the ground one more time before climbing up top the crowd really behind him. Torrie Wilson quickly rushed out of her chair and climbed onto the apron distracting the referee while Mero snuck up behind the Hurricane and dropped him off the turnbuckle. Kidman quickly took advantage hitting Hurricane with the BK Bomb. Kidman then climbed up to the top rope finishing the job by hitting the Shooting Star Press for the three. Kidman stole this one!

    Winner – Billy Kidman

    Aftermath:

After the match, Billy Kidman celebrates in the middle of the ring as Mero and Wilson quickly walk out of sight. The Hurricane well and truely screwed in this match up but why?

    Are you Ready?

Time for another DX Promo. Today's promo is a repeat of the Promo aired earlier in the week, DX impersonating the Nation of Domination. DX are returning to the WWF! But when?

    Backstage with The Coach

We join the Coach, shortly before the Main Event, The Coach telling everyone watching that he's been hanging outside Lance Storm's locker room for a while trying to catch a word with him but so far there has been no sight of him. Coach says that it's been evident to everyone backstage, even those that consider him a friend that Lance Storm has intentionally been keeping a low profile since what happened on Thursday and...at the moment Lance Storm's locker room door opens, Storm passing through completely blanking The Coach as he tries to get a quick word with him. Lance Storm is up NEXT!

    Referee: Teddy Long

    Lance Storm vs. Perry Saturn

Lance Storm’s music hits the arena as he makes his way down to the ring for his match against Perry Saturn, who is already at ring side. Both announcers comment on Storm’s unprovoked attack on Edge on Smackdown earlier this week as Storm climbs into the ring and raises his arms to the crowd. This match is next!

    The start:

Storm and Saturn lock up; Storm quickly getting behind Saturn and taking him to the ground with a waist lock takedown. Storm keeps on top of Saturn locking in a side head lock but Saturn counters with a suplex. Both men get back with Saturn throwing in some stiff shots, sending Storm into the ropes but Storm counters a back body drop with a kick to the face before taking Saturn down with a swinging neckbreaker. Storm climbs up to the top rope and connects with a dropkick and goes for the cover but only gets the two. Storm stomps away as Saturn tries to get back to his feet, boots turning to right hands before nearly getting caught out with a running clothesline, Saturn countering with a fisherman’s suplex with a bridge, Storm just kicking out in time. Storm then gets taken down with a high knee by Saturn.

    Mid-match notes:

Saturn tries to keep Storm grounded with some stiff shots, Storm carelessly walking into the Saturn Bomb, Storm lucky to kick out again. Saturn hit storm with a scoop slam before going up to the top rope and hit a diving elbow drop on Storm, hooking the leg for another two. Kevin Kelly was very impressed with this display from Saturn. Saturn decides to take a breather and locks in a sleeper on the man from Alberta, Canada, Saturn intent on making a huge upset…but Storm isn’t quite done yet.

Storm tries to break through Saturn’s hold, despite Saturn’s use of the knee to keep him down. Storm continues to push out, elbows and all but Saturn is holding on. Storm eventually breaks through with one hard shot too many using the rope to get some momentum, Saturn nearly catching him with a right arm but Storm ducking before hitting Saturn with a lariat. Both men get back to their feet, Storm once again betting behind Saturn and attempting a belly to back Suplex but Saturn counters landing on his feet before hitting Storm with a belly to back of his own.

    The Finish:

Saturn gets back and goes back to the turnbuckle, the fans rooting big time for the former Ranger. Saturn, however, takes too long on the tope rope and Storm manages to get out of the way of the moonsault attempt, Storm quickly rising back to his feet to hit Saturn with a huge super kick. Lance Storm quickly follows up the Boston Crab, Saturn quickly tapping out from the move to give Storm the win.

    Winner – Lance Storm

    Aftermath:

After the match, Storm quickly gets out of the ring and stands looking at some of the fans before going over to the announce table to grab a microphone to the surprise of many of the fans and the announcers. Once the ring is cleared, Storm heads back into the ring and paces himself up and down waiting for the crowd to die down. When it does, Storm raises the microphone to his mouth, everyone hanging on his first word when…he lowers the mic before dropping it on the floor. Storm looks to have had a change of heart as he opts to exit the ring to a huge chorus of boos from the fans. Has Storm got Cold Feet? Why did he attack Edge? I guess we won’t find out tonight!

    WWF Smackdown!

Broadcast on the 17th January 2002 from the Metro Center, Rockford Illinois

The show kicks off with our announcers, Michael Cole and Tazz welcoming us to another fine edition of Smackdown. Tonight is, without a shadow of a doubt, going to be huge and we have some huge matches to announce. Later tonight, The Rock will make his first WWF title defence against X-Pac. Plus our Main Event is going to be a Royal Rumble Rematch between the WWF Intercontinental Champion, Shawn Stasiak and Edge in a Solid Steel Cage! Michael Cole and Tazz can hardly wait!

    The Smackdown Opener:

Test’s music then hit the arena as the Royal Rumble Match Runner up Test made his way down to the ring. Test grabbed a mic and said that he had something to say regarding what went down earlier in the week on RAW. Test said that ever since Monday, fans have been bugging him asking him why, someone who supposedly wanted to take on the Undertaker would refuse to fight him until No Way Out? Test said that doing what he did was logical. Firstly, Test said that in case the WWF fans had forgot, last year at Survivor Series, Test had won a match that meant that Test could not get fired no matter what the hell he did. Test said with that luxury, he is able to pick and choose when he wants to fight and there isn’t a damn thing anyone in this arena can do about it. Test said that while he’d like to make it abundantly clear that he is not afraid of anyone, and Test means anyone and that he’ll never back away from the challenge, Test said that with the Royal Rumble being the night before coupled with the very real fact that Test is too good for Free TV, there was no way he was going to fight Taker on RAW or any other time before No Way Out. The second reason was also very important. Test said that the other reason why he didn’t want to fight Taker on RAW is because quite frankly, with Jerry Lawler in sole charge of the company in Vince McMahon’s absence, the chances of getting screwed are just too great. Test said that as far as he is concerned, there is no way that any stipulation or arrangements about his match with The Undertaker would be discussed until Vince McMahon is in charge of the company and if Lawler is unhappy with that, he can go to hell! Test’s music then hits and Test begins to make his escape. Looks like he’s not a fan of Jerry Lawler!

    Referee: Charles Robinson

    Sabu vs. Chavo Guerrero Jr.

Chavo Guerrero's music hits the arena as Chavo makes his way down to the ring to a very quiet response from the fans. Chavo gets into the ring and tests the ropes awaiting his opponent. The fans then go wild as "The Hukka Blues" hit the arena as Sabu makes his way to the ring.

    The start:

Sabu and Chavo lock up in the ring, Chavo taking control in the early goings, hitting Sabu with a kick to the gut, sending Sabu into the gut before dropping him with a drop kick. Both men get back to their feet, Chavo using the ropes once again before putting Sabju in a headlock. Sabu tries to get out with some elbows before driving Chavo into the corner, Chavo having no choice but to release the hold. Sabu keep Chavo in the corner and beats him down with some right hands, Chavo then countering Sabu's irish whip attempt Sabu, but Sabu still making the take down climbing up the turnbuckle and taking Chavo down with a moonsault.

    Mid-match notes:

Sabu climbed over Chavo and beat him down with some huge shots before hitting Chavo with a leg drop, Sabu making the cover but only getting the 2. Sabu sends Chavo to the corner and Sabu mounts the turnbuckle beating him down with more right hands before attempting a DDT, but Chavo counters the move and takes Sabu down with a neckbreaker. Chavo lifts Sabu back to his feet and tosses him into the ring post parting the shoulder of the ECW legend.

Chavo taunts the fans before heading back over to the corner, Sabu fighting out with some hard shots before using the ropes to take Chavo down with a springboard bulldog before climbing outside and taking Chavo down with a springboard clothesline.

    The Finish:

Sabu continued to use middle rope as his friend hitting Chavo Guerrero with a springboard dropkick before using it once more to hit Chavo with a moonsault, the fans really getting behind him. Sabu pointed upwards once more before locking Chavo Guerrero in the Camel Clutch, Chavo having no choice but to tap out making Sabu the winner.

    Winner – Sabu

    Aftermath:

Sabu took time after the match to celebrate in the ring after Chavo departed from the ring. Sabu is really getting over with these WWF Fans!

Backstage with Paul E and the Big Red Machine:

The Coach is backstage with Paul Heyman and Kane. The Coach starts off by asking Paul Heyman why he requested an interview. Heyman said that he’s glad he asked but the answer is quite simple. The reason Paul Heyman asked an interview is because he wanted to send a message to someone; that person is Stone Cold Steve Austin. Heyman said that last Sunday at the Royal Rumble, Stone Cold grabbed a cheap victory over his client Kane, a victory that temporarily halted their plans to become the most dominant power in World Wrestling Federation history. Heyman said that Stone Cold, however, should appreciate that while he did gain this victory over Kane that it should not be considered as anything more than a fluke. Heyman said that Stone Cold was nothing more than a Stumbling Block to Kane and that come No Way Out, whether Jerry Lawler grants it or not, Kane will destroy Stone Cold and that’s the bottom line, because Paul Heyman said so. Heyman and Kane then back off leaving The Coach speechless.

    Backstage:

Further backstage, we see The Rock arrive backstage to the delight of many fans in the arena. The Rock suddenly gets stopped by the Big Show and the two men shake hands. Big Show said that he’s glad to see him, The Rock adding that the feeling is mutual. Show asked The Rock if he’d heard about his match tonight against X-Pac for the WWF Championship, The Rock saying he had and that Lawler had called him on the cell to tell him as he was on his way in. Show wasn’t impressed at the fact that he had been given that little time to prepare. Either way, Show said that tonight, he had The Rock’s back and The Rock was very grateful. Both men shook hands again and The Rock was on his way.

    Referee: Teddy Long

    Kurt Angle vs. Chuck Palumbo

Kurt Angle’s music hit the arena as our very own Olympic Gold Medallist made his way to ring side ready for his one on one match up with Chuck Palumbo. Angle looked really intense mouthing off to many different sections of the audience before Chuck Palumbo’s music finally hit.

    The start:

Kurt Angle and Palumbo locked up in the middle of the ring, Angle quickly going for a side head lock. Palumbo pushed Angle against the ropes making Angle break the hold before Angle took Palumbo down to the ground with a shoulder block. Angle continued on Palumbo attacking him with some huge right hands followed by a kick to the gut, Angle sending Palumbo into the ropes before bringing Palumbo down with a huge belly to belly suplex.

    Mid-match notes:

Angle sends Palumbo into the corner but Palumbo defends himself with a right elbow. Palumbo climbs up top and goes for a double axehandle but Angle quickly catches him in mid-flight before taking him down with another belly to belly suplex. Angle makes a pin fall attempt and the fans think it’s over but Palumbo manages to get the shoulder up on the two.

Angle continues this devastating assault on the former WCW superstar hitting Palumbo with back to back German Suplexes. Angle goes for a third suplex but Palumbo fights out once again with his elbows, before bouncing off the rope and getting hit instead with another belly to belly suplex.

    The Finish:

Angle waited for Palumbo to get back to his feet before hitting him with the Angle Slam. Angle made the cover with ease but rather than make the pin, Angle decided to lift the head up of Palumbo himself breaking the count. Angle got back to his feet and twirled for the crowd before dropping his straps putting the Angle Lock on Palumbo, Palumbo having no choice but to tap out! Kurt Angle wins the match.

    Winner – Kurt Angle

    Aftermath:

After the bell goes, Angle holds onto the Ankle of Palumbo, Angle looking intent on breaking it. Eventually with a lot of persuasion from the referee, Angle lets go choosing instead to grab a mic. Angle tells the crowd to shut their mouths as he has something important to talk about, the crowd responding in turn. The noise was deafening. Angle said that ever since he attacked Rob Van Dam last Monday Night on RAW, everyone has been asking him, “Why did you attack RVD?” and “What did RVD ever do to you?” Angle said he finally wanted to set the record straight. Angle reminded the fans that if they didn’t know by now, in 1996, Kurt Angle won an Olympic Gold Medal in Amateur Wrestling. Angle said that moment was one of the proudest moments of his entire life. After becoming the best Amateur Wrestler that one could become, Angle said that he had decided that it was time for a new challenge, the challenge of professional wrestling and he said that this challenge excited him; it excited him just like competing in the Olympics excited him. Angle said that when he finally arrived in the WWF, Angle’s eyes were opened to the real truths of professional wrestling; simply put, in Pro Wrestling, winning a Gold Medal means nothing. Angle said that just like every other pro wrestler in the World Wrestling Federation, Kurt had to earn his stripes leading to his final crowning glory at No Mercy, 2000 when Kurt Angle became the WWF Champion. Angle makes damn sure that everyone understands that he had to go through personal hell to get to where he was; he put his body on the line every single day to win that Gold! But then, just over one year after Kurt Angle lived his dream, Kurt Angle finds himself sitting at the sidelines of a Royal Rumble Match when people like TAKA Michinoku, Funaki, Steven Richards and Rob Van Dam are participating in it. Angle said it makes it sick to him stomach that while he had to slave his guts out to get to the very top, someone like Rob Van Dam, a man who couldn’t make it in the big leagues, somehow manages to land himself a job through the influx of WCW and ECW stars into the WWF and all of a sudden finds himself entitled to a World Title chase during the Invasion. Angle said that he’s seen what it was like in ECW and one thing it wasn’t was talented; ECW was merely a place were rejected wrestlers went to bitch and moan about how life wasn’t right to them and make a cheap buck by busting each other open for the pleasure of some sadists that bought a ticket every other week. But yet somehow, Rob Van Dam manages to get in the WWF Title picture. Angle said it was time to find out which WWF superstars are going to lead the WWF into the millennium and which superstars are nothing more than leaches. Angle said it’s clear out time and he’s breaking some freaking ankles!

    One Down! One to Go!

We got backstage with the Big Show who is chatting with a make up lady when he is distracted by X-Pac. X-Pac asks the Big Show if his wife knows whether he’s been fooling around with the staff backstage in the WWF, Big Show genuinely looking confused asking what the hell he’s talking about but X-Pac just laughs. X-Pac continues that he’s not surprised because after, Show’s wife is a dog. Big Show has enough and starts to threaten X-Pac, X-Pac begging him to bring it on. Suddenly from behind the big man, Ron Waterman appears knocking him down with that lead pipe he effectively used against Stone Cold a month ago, the make up lady screaming. Waterman viciously attacks Big Show with the pipe busting his head open before choking Big Show on the ground with it while X-Pac also takes a few shots at him. Waterman yells at Big Show that this is what happens when you get involved in business where you don’t belong and when you mess with Ron Waterman! Waterman shakes the hand of X-Pac both men smiling, leaving the sign as some people coming to check on the noise, leaving the make up woman in tears kneeling over the 7ft Giant.

    WWF Championship Match

    Referee: Earl Hebner

The Rock © vs. X-Pac (w/ Ron Waterman)

“If you smell what the Rock is coming” blasted through the PA system as the WWF Champion the Rock made his way to the ring, the crowd giving him a huge reception. The Rock got into the ring and saluted the fans before his music stopped and X-Pac’s old WWF theme hit. X-Pac and Ron Waterman made their way to the ring, Waterman giving X-Pac a few words of advice for he climbed ready to challenge for the WWF Championship.

    The start:

The Rock and X-Pac immediately go at it in the middle of the ring the Rock laying some right hands on Pac before whipping him into the ropes before going for a clothesline but X-Pac ducks the attempt before taking the Rock to the mat with a spinning heel kick. X-Pac gets back to his feet and delivers some quick kicks to The Rock on the ground before raising his arms celebrating. X-Pac’s celebration was way to premature however, Pac walking straight back into some hard fists by The Rock, Rocky taking him to the ropes before laying the Smackdown on him before the disorientated Pac walks into a huge belly to belly suplex from the People’s Champion. The Rock quickly hooks the leg but Pac manages to kick out on the two.

    Mid-match Notes:

The Rock takes hold of Pac and sends him into the ropes for a back body drop but Pac kicks him in the midsection before taking the Rock down with a head scissors takedown. X-Pac gets back to his feet before taking the Rock down with a drop kick before going for a cover, The Rock quickly kicking out. X-Pac locks in a sleeper hold on the People’s champion kicking The Rock in the kidneys to keep him down but The Rock fights. X-Pac managed to wear The Rock down in the hold and Hebner checked to see if The Rock was still conscious, The Rock’s arm rising on the third attempt.

The Rock powers out of the hold delivering some hard right hand shots to X-Pac, Pac resorting to a thumb to the eye using the ropes to hit a clothesline but The Rock counters it with a DDT taking Pac head first into the canvas. The Rock gets back to his feet mouthing off the crowd knocking Ron Waterman off of the apron with a huge shot before countering an X-Pac sneak attack with another belly to belly suplex before locking in the Sharpshooter but X-Pac manages to get to the bottom rope Waterman quickly alerting the referee to break up the hold.

    The Finish:

Waterman mouths off to the Rock from the outside, and The Rock gets irritated so much so that he doesn’t notice X-Pac getting to his feet and is unable to prevent the low blow, X-Pac lucky not to get caught. Pac quickly delivers some quick stiff kicks and punches to the Great one before whipping him into the ropes before going for another spinning heel kick but The Rock holds onto the ropes Pac crashing and burning before The Rock takes him down with a clothesline. Waterman gets involved in the match once more grabbing hold of The Rock’s foot, The Rock kicking him off, but turns around straight into the X-Factor! Everyone thought it was over, but somehow, The Rock managed to get his shoulder up before the 3. Neither Waterman nor X-Pac can believe it. Waterman tells X-Pac to hit him with it again X-Pac lifts The Rock up but The Rock somehow bursts to life surprising Pac quickly fighting back with right hands before hitting Pac with the spinebuster. The Rock takes off his arm band signalling for people’s elbow but Waterman quickly climbs on the apron, The Rock taking him down with a huge right hand, before hitting X-Pac with the Rockbottom, making the cover for the 3. The Rock retains!!!

Winner and Still WWF Champion, The Rock

    Aftermath:

The Rock quickly gets back to his feet and warns off Ron Waterman who quietly pulls X-Pac out of the ring. The Rock takes the WWF Championship belt and celebrates with the crowd, another Vince McMahon plan failed!

    Backstage with Edge:

Edge was backstage with The Coach, moments away from the Cage Match in the Main Event. The Coach wanted to know what sort of pressure Edge is under with the knowledge that this could be his last shot at the Intercontinental Championship for a long time. Edge said that he doesn’t feel any pressure. After all, he knows in his heart that he is capable of beating Stasiak if he wants it bad enough and Edge guaranteed us that he wants it. He wants that gold more than ever. Edge tells Stasiak to bring all that he’s got because he is going to bring his A-game. Tonight, Edge is bringing home the Gold to the Edge heads and the era of awesomeness will continue!

Main Event, Cage Match, Edge vs. Shawn Stasiak, Intercontinental Championship is NEXT!

    ARE YOU READY?!!!!

Time for a Degeneration X Recap! Today's clip is when the DX parodied the Nation of Domination. Degeneration X are coming!

    WWF Intercontinental Championship Match

    Cage Match

    Referee: Jim Molineux

    Shawn Stasiak © vs. Edge

We return to ringside as the announcers inform the audience that we are moments away from the Cage Match, the solid steel cage slowly being lowered over the ring. “Never Gonna Stop” by Rob Zombie then hits the arena as Edge makes his way to the ring. Edge climbs through the Cage door and shakes the hand the referee, Edge knowing that this could be his last opportunity to win the WWF Intercontinental Title. Shawn Stasiak’s music then hits the arena and Stasiak made his way to the ring with his title belt, Stasiak looking anything but composed as he gets to the entrance to cage. Can Stasiak retain his title?

    The start:

Stasiak and Edge lock in the ring but Edge takes the advantage kicking Stasiak in the gut before beating him back with some huge right hands before introducing Stasiak to the cage for the very first time, chucking him face first into the steel. Edge beat Stasiak again and threw him straight into the other side of the cage before throwing him right back into the other side again. Edge quickly climbed up the turnbuckle and began to make his way up the side of the cage, Stasiak quickly having to regain composure and pull Edge down by his leg to gain some momentum back into the match. Edge wanted to end this match quickly!

    Mid-match notes:

Stasiak beat down Edge in the corner, Edge slumping in the corner so that Stasiak could stick his boot in, before moving away before hitting Edge in the corner with a raised knee to his face the crowd gasping at the shot. Stasiak tried to climb over Edge up the turnbuckle to escape from the cage but Edge quickly grabbed hold of his leg and tried to tug him down, Stasiak sticking the boot into get him to release. Edge however had no intention to let go and Stasiak got planted in the middle of the ring with a side slam, Stasiak experiencing all kinds of whiplash.

Edge got Stasiak back of his feet and took him down with a drop kick before then connecting with a running lariat, Stasiak losing control in the match. Edge picked Stasiak back up to his feet and attempted to send Stasiak into the corner but Stasiak countered the move, Edge landing hard in the corner, but countering the secondary charge with a boot to the face before parting the shoulders of Stasiak against the turnbuckle. Edge grated Stasiak’s face hard against the steel cage busting Stasiak open before taking him down to the ground with a huge right hand. Edge started climbing the cage. Stasiak is not done yet though and Stasiak manages to pull Edge down part of the Edge before delivering him with a huge powerbomb. Stasiak looks to have hurt his ankle though in the process!

Stasiak hobbles over to the corner and shouts at the referee on the outside to open the door but the referee looks hesitant. Stasiak continues to shout abuse until the referee makes his way over to the corner and starts to unlock the door but Edge jumps him from behind and takes him into the corner. Edge delivers some vicious right hands to Stasiak before trying to take the door option himself but Stasiak halts Edge with clubs over the back. The referee has no choice but close the door and the two men and the two men continue their fight.

Stasiak gives Edge a taste of his own medicine raking Edge’s face hard against the hard unforgiving steel, Stasiak taking a whole new form of aggressive. Stasiak piles Edge in the corner and hits him with some huge back handed chops, before sending Edge face first into the adjacent ring post, Edge having to fight out with an elbow. Edge attempts to go for the Downward Spiral but Stasiak counters before hitting Edge with his own move getting lots of heat from the crowd.

    The Finish:

Stasiak looked around and almost looked unsure of whether to go for the door or over the top after the referee didn’t seem to come to action quick enough after he requested the door would be unlocked. Stasiak then finally decided to begin climbing as Edge started to come to life. Stasiak made it about half way when Edge had also started climbing, the man from Toronto seeming to have more speed as Stasiak struggled to get to the top, his ankle probably playing a part. Both men reached the very top of the side, Edge capitalising on Stasiak’s slow movement clubbing him over the back with a hard shot. Both men began to trade punches, Stasiak looking like he was going to take the advantage before Edge came back with some hard shots of his own. To the shock of the crowd, Edge then hit Stasiak with a diving cutter off of the cage both men crashing to the centre of the ring, a “holy sh*t” chant quickly appearing. Both men looked in serious trouble with neither men moving much despite the referee on the outside opening the door. Edge slowly began to move, Stasiak still completely out of and the crowd responded, many “Edge” chants coming from them. Edge crawled towards the door, the door was open, and all he had to do was climb out…at least, so he thought! Everyone in the audience thought Edge would become the New Intercontinental Champion when Lance Storm charged down to ring side, slamming the steel door into the head of Edge exacerbating the cuts on his face. Storm quickly climbed into the ring and mounted Edge, beating him down with huge right hands before sending him straight into the steel frame of the Cage. Meanwhile, Stasiak took his chance and dragged himself the door, dropping through and landing unconventionally for the win.

Winner and still WWF Intercontinental Champion, Shawn Stasiak

    Aftermath:

The show ended with Lance Storm continually laying it on Edge in the middle of the ring, Storm scraping Edge’s face over and over again across the steel before throwing him hard to the ground. Storm then, to a plethora of boos, finished the job hitting Edge with the superkick. The final shots were of Lance Storm raising his arms to the crowd celebrating a job well done. But Why Lance Why?

    WWF Smackdown! Preview

Broadcast on the 17th January 2002 from the Metro Center, Rockford Illinois

The Road to Wrestlemania Continues Tonight

While Smackdown comes to Rockford, Illinois only 4 days removed from the Royal Rumble, it must seem like a life time away for many of the Superstars of the World Wrestling Federation.

One such Superstar is Test who earlier this week declared Wrestlemania to be officially off after he was dropped out of the Rumble at the last hurdle by The Undertaker for a chance to feature in the Main Event of Wrestlemania. But while Wrestlemania may be off for Test, No Way Out is not and Test has made his demands perfectly simple. He wants The Undertaker one last time. Raw however was not the right time for Test backing down from the Deadman in favour of next months PPV offering? What is so special about No Way Out for Test? Stay tuned for more information!

Another person that surely isn't settled from the Rumble is the former WWF Champion and co-owner of the WWF, Vince McMahon! While Vince will not be appearing tonight, Vince McMahon had exclusively announced to WWF.com that tonight on Smackdown, The Rock will go one on one with X-Pac for the WWF Championship. Can X-Pac bring the gold back or will The Rock retain the WWF Championship?

The Royal Rumble was not the only place for controversy as on RAW, Kurt Angle turned up in Rob Van Dam's WWF Hardcore Title Match, knocking Van Dam off the top rope, saving Key from his second consecutive loss to the Whole Damn Show. What motive did Kurt Angle have for attacking Van Dam and how will Rob Van Dam respond when he finds Kurt Angle? Expect all hell to break loose tonight when Kurt Angle takes on WWF New Boy Chuck Palumbo on Smackdown!

Also in action in tonight is one of the latest additions to the WWF Roster, the suicidal homicidal genicidal death defying Sabu who is scheduled to take on Chavo Guerrero Jr. Can Sabu win in a clean wrestling match or will the Guerrero Wrestling Legacy provide too much for the ECW Legend?

The major talking point of the night is surely going to be Edge's return match fo the WWF Intercontinental Championship, taking on "Perfect" Shawn Stasiak in a Solid Steel Cage! Edge will know that if he fails tonight, he may not get another shot at the WWF Intercontinental Championship so this match is vital for the young Canadian! Will Edge come out Victorious or will Shawn Stasiak finally end the era of awesomeness?

    Raw

Broadcast on Monday, 14th of January, 2002 LIVE from the All State Arena, Illinois

    WWF RAW Opener:

The show kicks off with the music of Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler hitting the ring as he made his way to the ring, looking in good spirits. Lawler takes the mic and says that he has some important news to share with the WWF fans. Lawler said the first port of call involves the co-owner of the World Wrestling Federation, Vince McMahon. Lawler said that Vince had decided to take the night off to rest up after he suffered a brutal beating by the hands of our new WWF Champion, The Rock. Lawler added that while Vince McMahon would not be here, his two lackeys, Ron Waterman and X-Pac would and that tonight, the two of them would face off against the 500lb, 7ft foot tall Big Show and The WWF Champion, The Rock. The crowd went wild and Lawler was taking it all in. What a Huge Main Event! But Lawler said that there was more and it involved…the music of Test then hit the ring! Lawler stood surprised as Test made his way to ring side. Test gets on the mic complaining about what happened at the Royal Rumble. Test said that in case everyone hadn’t noticed, he entered in at Number 12 and was the most dominant man at the Rumble. Test said that The Undertaker simply got lucky and that if there was such a thing as fairness then he would be in the Main Event of Wrestlemania and The Undertaker would be facing another talentless individual so that The Undertaker can maintain that undefeated Wrestlemania streak. Test added that Wrestlemania had been officially ruined and that quite frankly, he doesn’t give a damn now what the hell happens! However, Test said that No Way Out was a different story! All of a sudden, the music of the Undertaker hit the arena and The Undertaker hit the ring. Lawler extended is hand to The Undertaker but Taker was in no mood for niceties getting right down to the point. Taker said that when he stepped into the arena tonight, The Undertaker said that despite his and Test’s differences, Taker still had respect for him but then, Test came down to the ring, stepped into his yard and opened his big mouth. Taker said that he doesn’t know exactly how much wrestling Test watched in the past, but one thing is for sure and that is that the people that The Undertaker met at Wrestlemania, people like King Kong Bundy and Jimmy “Superfly” Snuka...people like Diesel and Jake Roberts are not mediocre. Test quickly cut off Taker telling him that if he came down to the ring to offer him a history lesson, then he’d appreciate it if Taker would just start walking up the ramp because Test isn’t interested as all he wants is a match at No Way Out! Taker gets right into Test’s face asking him why they have to wait for No Way Out. Test and Taker look like they’re about to go when Test raises his arms and begins to back off and back out of the ring, The Undertaker begging him to get back in the ring. Test wants a match but I guess just not tonight!

    Hardcore Match

    Referee: Michael Chioda

    Sabu vs. Steven Richards

The Hukka Blues hits the arena as Sabu made his way to the ring, chair in hand, for his first official match on RAW and he will be facing Steven Richards!

    The start:

Sabu started off the match in typical fashion throwing his steel chair into the face of Richards before beating him into the corner with some huge right hands. Sabu goes back for the chair and sets it up in the corner before hitting Richards with the Air Sabu bringing out a loud “ECW” chant from the audience as Sabu points to the sky.

    Mid-match notes:

Sabu sends Richards to the outside, Sabu alluring Richards into a false sense of security before diving out of the ring taking Richards down with a suicide plancha. Sabu gets back to his feet, looking slightly disorientated but nevertheless sticks some boots into Richards before going under the ring for a table. Sabu sets the table up before going back to Richards, getting met with a few right handed shots before sending Sabu hard into the steel steps. Richards goes over to the time keeper and grabs hold of the ring bell, using it as a weapon to bust open the death defying Sabu. Richards however stalled with the pin fall attempt opting to sending him in the ring before pinning him, Sabu getting the shoulder up on the two.

Richards went back to the outside and pulled a trash can from under the ring and tried to get it inside, only to have Sabu baseball slide the can straight into the face of Richards. Sabu made use of the steel chair once more taking Richards out on the outside with a triple jump Arabian press both men, Sabu pointing the sky for the second time in this match. Sabu continued the assault hitting Richards with a Russian Legsweep into the barricade before going for a cover, Richards managing to kick out on the two.

    The Finish:

Sabu walked Richards around the ring taking him down with right hand after right hand, before finally clocking his head off with an uppercut. Sabu then borrowed a chair of Lillian, throwing the chair straight into the face of Stevie. Sabu rolled Richards onto the table beating him down with some fists before climbing back into the ring, Sabu climbing to the top rope before hitting Richards with the leg drop off the top rope through the table before covering Richards for the win.

    Winner – Sabu

    Aftermath:

After the match, Sabu celebrated in the middle pointing upwards once more as he continuous the Sheik legacy!

    Backstage:

We go backstage to the locker room of Charles Wright and Key where both men are carefully watching the highlights of the Sabu match over again. Key almost looks concerned watching on, Wright quickly assuring him that Sabu is nothing more than a glorified Stuntman and that he is nothing compared to Key. Just when Key started to bring himself to smile, Rob Van Dam walks in and breaks up the party. RVD said that both him and Key had unfinished business to take care of and reminded both of them that in case they forgot, last time the two of them met, Van Dam pinned Key’s ass and went on to participate in the Royal Rumble Match while Key was fighting Tough Enough Winners. Van Dam’s comments quickly infuriated Wright who told RVD that if he wanted a match for the hardcore championship, then Van Dam will get a hardcore championship match and it will be tonight! Key tried to intervene but it was too late. Rob Van Dam vs. Key is on for tonight and it’s for the WWF Hardcore Championship!”

    WWF Tag Team Championship Match

    Referee: Teddy Long

Dudley Boyz © vs. Jeff Hardy and Scotty 2 Hotty

The music of the Dudley Boyz hit and the Dudley Boyz made their way to the arena to defend their WWF Tag Team Championship Belts against Jeff Hardy and Scotty 2 Hotty.

    The start:

Jeff Hardy and D-Von Dudley started off the match, both men locking up in the middle of the ring. Jeff Hardy took D-Von down with some arm drags before locking in a side head lock, D-Von driving into the ropes to break up the hold before walking into a big drop kick from Jeff. Jeff kept on top of D-Von sending him into the corner with an irish whip but D-Von managed to dodge the follow up splash in the corner, before throwing Jeff to the ground his head making huge impact with the ground.

    Mid-match notes:

D-Von made the tag out to Bubba who immediately began to stomp away on the Hardy Boy before telling the crowd to suck it. Bubba then levelled Jeff to the ground with a huge elbow before attempting the pin but only getting the 2. Bubba sent Jeff Hardy hard into the ropes Jeff’s head bouncing off the turnbuckle and falling backwards before hitting Jeff with the Bubba Bomb, followed by another pin fall attempt, this time Scotty breaking up the count.

However, Scotty’s interference gave the ref a distraction and allowed the Dudley Boyz to double team on Jeff, taking him down with a double suplex but D-Von is unable to take the pin as Jeff got the shoulder up. D-Von lifted Jeff off the ground and struck him with a right hand before going for a vertical suplex, Jeff managing to counter the move with a roll up but D-Von managed to kick out, rising to his feet before Hardy to take him down with a stiff clothesline. D-Von tagged back out to Bubba and Bubba continued the offence hitting Jeff with a stiff body slam sending a b-line to Scotty before using the ropes as momentum to kick Jeff to the head, quickly going for the cover but Jeff once again managing to kick out.

Bubba locked Jeff in a side head lock shouting telling Jeff to tap out but Jeff did no such thing. Jeff started to fight out and Bubba and Jeff got swapped shots, Bubba eventually taking control with an eye rake. Bubba whipped Jeff into the ropes before going for a back body drop, but instead got kicked in the face before Jeff somehow managed to hit the twist of fate out of nothing. Jeff looked up and saw Scotty 2 Hotty holding his arm out and began crawling towards him while D-Von held out his arm to Bubba. Both men make the tag and Scotty and D-Von both fly into the ring. Scotty takes down D-Von with one forearm smash, then another, then another, Scotty following it up with a DDT. Bubba Dudley attacks Scotty from behind knocking him forward but Jeff quickly comes to the rescue attacking Bubba with right hands both men taking it to the outside.

    The Finish:

Scotty gets back to his feet and hits D-Von with one handed bulldog and we all know what’s coming next! W-O-R-M OOH OOH OOH! Scotty connects with D-Von as a crash is heard on the outside. Scotty makes the cover but only gets the 2, Bubba somehow managing to get back into the ring in time and break it up. Bubba then hits Scotty with the Bubba Cutter before pulling D-Von over Scotty for the win.

Winners and Still WWF Tag Team Champions, the Dudley Boyz

    Aftermath:

After the match, Bubba drags D-Von back to his feet and the two brothers celebrate in the middle of the ring to a bunch of boos from the crowd when the lights in the arena all of a sudden dim and the words “Are YOU READY??” hit the arena before another Degeneration X teaser is shown on the titantron. Bubba and D-Von do not look happy!

    WWF Womens Championship Match

    Trish © vs. Jazz

Jazz’s music hits the arena as she makes her way to the ring. Jazz looks serious and ready for tonight’s match up as she gets into the ring before saluting the crowd to a very poor response. Trish’s music then hits the arena and the crowd go nuts as the Women’s Champion makes her way to the ring for her title defence.

    The Start:

Trish and Jazz lock up in the middle of the ring Jazz over powering Trish into the corner before she flexes her muscles pointing out just how masculine she really is but that doesn’t stop Trish. Both women lock up in the centre of the ring again with this time Trish taking the advantage and backing her off into her corner both women breaking it off for a second time as Trish gets cheered on from the crowd. Jazz takes a big exception to this, slapping Trish hard across the face before kicking her to the gut and then taking her down to the ground with a high knee to the face. Jazz then gets to the ground and begins to choke away at her, the referee having to forcefully drag Jazz off of the Womens Champion but Jazz quickly goes back to work with stiff kicks.

    The Finish:

Jazz lifts Trish up before taking her back down with a vertical suplex getting the 2 on the pin fall attempt. Jazz hits Trish with some more knees to the face before whipping her hard into the turnbuckle. Jazz goes for the corner splash but Trish quickly gets out of the way, Jazz managing to stop herself from colliding but Trish quickly kicked her into the midsection before sending her right back in parting her shoulder. Trish pulls Jazz out and attempts to go for the Stratusfaction but Jazz quickly counters throwing Trish to the ground. Jazz goes back to Trish and picks her up kicking her to the gut before setting her up for a Death Valley Driver but out of nowhere, a Goth looking woman appeared, presumably from the crowd and attacked Jazz across the back with a steel chain wrapped around her fist Jazz and Trish both dropping to the ground. The woman then clocks Jazz for a second time this time across the head knocking Jazz straight out. This insane woman is nowhere near finished though stalking Trish as she tries to get to her feet. The crazy woman lifts Trish up with ease into a fireman’s carry position before hitting her with a spinning facebuster, Trish’s face crashing hard against the mat. The Goth Woman poses signing to the crowd that she wants the belt before quickly exiting through the crowd as EMTs come down to check on both women! Who the hell was that?

Match ended as a No Contest

    Aftermath:

The EMTs checked on both women before the show went to a commercial break!

    Earlier Tonight:

When we return to the show, JR and Foley take us back to scenes backstage earlier in the night between Jerry Lawler and Paul Heyman. Heyman and Lawler get into a huge argument over last night’s Rumble, Heyman telling Lawler that what happened shouldn’t have happened and that it needed to be sorted out. Heyman said he didn’t care what Lawler had to do, Kane wants Austin and Kane is going to get Austin. Lawler said that he appreciates Heyman and Kane’s displeasure but Austin didn’t do anything to break the rules and says that the best thing he can do is take his request under advisement. Kane then grabs hold of Lawler and raises him off the ground. Kane tells Lawler to get him Austin because if he doesn’t, then Lawler’s co-ownership will be very short lived one. Lawler looked terrified as Heyman took back over wiping Lawler’s jacket down telling him that he’ll expect to hear from him soon before him and Kane leave the office. Will Lawler give Kane, Austin?

    Kane vs. Steve Blackman

Kane’s music hits the arena as Kane makes his way down to the ring accompanied by Paul Heyman for his match up with none other than “the Lethal Weapon” Steve Blackman. We are reminded that last night, Steve Blackman drew Number one in the Royal Rumble Match.

    The start:

Blackman walks straight into some right handed shots from Kane followed by a huge upper cut taking Blackman to the ground. Kane chucks Blackman into the corner of the ring beating him down some more big shots before whipping him straight into the opposite turnbuckle. Kane then hits Blackman with a sidewalk slam. Kane chokes Blackman on the ground the referee making the count, Kane only letting go at the last second.

    The Finish:

Kane continues this one man assault on Blackman imbedding Blackman into the canvas with a huge body slam before Kane begins his assent to the top rope, before nearly taking Blackman’s head clean off with a huge clothesline from the top rope. Heyman is merely a spectator watching on as Kane raises his arm back connecting with the chokeslam planting Blackman one last time before making an easy pin fall to win the match.

    Winner – Kane

    Aftermath:

After the match, Heyman orders Kane to the outside, Heyman telling Kane to punish Blackman for what happened to him! Kane grabs hold of the steel steps and throws them into the ring, the heavy metal object just missing the referee who darts out as Kane climbs back in. Kane takes Blackman down with the steps and busts him open, Kane tilting his head at the sight of blood. Kane quickly lifts Blackman back to his feet, Heyman barking out more orders to hurt him as Kane climbs the steps to attempt a tombstone pile driver on Blackman onto the steps…but then the Glass Breaks in the arena and the crowd goes wild. Austin’s music is playing…but where is Austin? Heyman spots him but it’s too late, Austin coming from behind Kane attacking him with a steel chair knocking Kane down to his knees. Austin hits Kane with what must be nearly 10 shots, disfiguring the chair. Heyman tries to intervene but gets a Stunner for his troubles before Austin hits Kane with one also the crowd going wild as Austin dominates the ring…BUT KANE SITS UP! Austin can’t believe it and quickly scarpers from the ring, Kane getting right back to his feet, staring down a fleeing Austin. Can anything stop Kane?

Van Dam said he wants to sort this out once and for all! Can he become the WWF Hardcore Champion again? Key attempts then attempts to send Van Dam into the steel post but Van Dam counters the move and Key goes straight in busting Key open. Van Dam drags Key out away from the turnbuckle before climbing up onto the barricade and diving off with a flying leg drop, Van Dam only getting a 2 on the cover. Van Dam lifts Key and chucks him straight into the barricade, Key landing hard before Van Dam drops him on top of it with a beautiful vertical suplex. Van Dam goes for another pin fall attempt after he hits a leg drop off the apron onto the hanging Key, Key kicking out milliseconds before the three.

Van Dam goes under the ring and brings out some weaponry, Van Dam cracking Key over the head with a huge stop sign before sliding it into the ring. Van Dam rolls Key back into the ring before also climbing in, Key desperately trying to get to his feet. Van Dam uses the stop sign to hit the Van Daminator on Key before going for the pin but Van Dam’s pin was broken up by Charles Wright.

Wright brought Van Dam back to his feet and hit him with some right handed shots. Wright then whipped Van Dam into the ropes and went for a clothesline but Van Dam ducked, bouncing, Van Dam making Wright eat a beautifully timed spinning heel kick. Van Dam continued to work on Wright taking him down with a body slam before subjecting him to Van Dam’s patented split-legged moonsault. Key got back into the match taking Van Dam with a huge clothesline. Van Dam then got hit with the face eraser, Key going for the cover but only getting the 2. Key continued the assault taking Van Dam down with a huge belly to back mat slam, Van Dam looking in serious trouble!

Key sends beats Van Dam down on the ground before climbing up the turnbuckle. What’s he going for? Key hits Van Dam with a huge moonsault. Key goes to hook the leg but he only gets the 2!!! What will Key need to do to win this match?!!

Key gets back to his feet and looks around before kicking Van Dam straight in the head. Key begins to climb back up to the top rope. What’s Key going to do now? Key goes for the 5 Star Frog Splash but Van Dam rolls out of the way leaving both men down. Wright, now back on his feet, shouts instructions to the WWF Hardcore Champion. Van Dam then hits the Rolling Thunder on Key! Van Dam gets back to his feet and takes Wright off the apron before climbing up to the top turnbuckle! It’s Five Star Frog Splash Time! But Wait! Kurt Angle quickly runs down the ramp and pushes Van Dam off the turnbuckle, what’s Angle doing here? Key takes advantage and sets Van Dam with a huge forearm smash knocking Van Dam’s lights out. Key finally ends the match hitting the Victimizer on Van Dam to get the 3 and retain the WWF Hardcore title

Winner and Still WWF Hardcore Champion, Key.

    Backstage:

The Coach is backstage and he is joined by The Rock. The Coach congratulated The Rock on winning the WWF Championship last night at the Rumble. The Coach wanted to know if The Rock felt that after the Rumble, whether Vince McMahon would attempt to win back the WWF Championship or whether he would let sleeping dogs lie. The Rock said that with Vince McMahon, you can be sure that anything is possible but the Rock felt that it would only be a matter of time before either someone representing Vince, or Vince himself would try and win the Championship back to his side but The Rock says just bring it. The Rock didn’t care if his next opponent was 6ft 8, or 700lbs, or if they liked walks on the beach and romcoms, it didn’t matter to The Rock. The Rock said that the only thing that matters is that The Rock walks out of each and every match the WWF Champion and that just what The Rock will do, whether it is tonight, No Way Out or even Wrestlemania! If you smell what The Rock is cooking!

The Rock and Big Show vs. Ron Waterman and X-Pac

The main event starts off with Vince McMahon’s music hitting the arena as Ron Waterman and X-Pac make there way to the ring. Last night, Ron Waterman entered his first Royal Rumble for it only to be screwed up by the Big Show, Waterman desperate to get revenge on the 7ft Giant tonight. Big Show’s music then hits and Show starts to make his way down the ramp before stopping, deciding to wait for his partner, the WWF Champion, The Rock.

    The start:

Big Show and Waterman lock up to start the match, Big Show immediately driving Waterman to the corner of the ring. Waterman quickly dodges a shot from Big Show, swapping places in the corner, Waterman firing with some huge right hands. This however didn't do much to help Waterman’s cause, Show bursting out of the corner with a clothesline Waterman getting knocked to the ground. Big Show body slammed Waterman to the mat before tagging in The Rock, The Rock laying some quick right hands to Waterman before knocking him down with a huge clothesline. The Rock then fought off an attack from X-Pac sending him to the outside before hitting Waterman with a spinebuster before we headed off for a commercial break.

    Mid-match notes:

When the show returned from the break, we took a quick recap from what happened during the break, The Rock tagging Big Show back into the match, the Big Show dominating both opponents in the early goings. Waterman and X-Pac however were a crafty team and while Waterman was distracting the referee, X-Pac removed a little can from his pocket spraying something into the eyes of the Giant blinding him allowing both heels to gain an unfair advantage. We then return to current time with X-Pac dancing around in the middle of the ring as Show sat in the corner, X-Pac then going on to hit Show with a broncho buster! X-Pac then tagged out and Ron Waterman got back in on the action hitting Big Show with a snapmare before locking him with a head lock.

Big Show looked like he was in trouble for about 2 minutes of the match with Big Show really having to dig deep to power out of the move. Big Show had to make the tag out to The Rock

Big Show somehow managed to lift Waterman off the ground, Waterman hanging on before Show managed to muster some strength out of nowhere Judo throwing Waterman over his shoulder before making the hot tag to the WWF Champion

    The Finish:

The Rock flew into the match knocking down everything that moved. One shot to Waterman, then to X-Pac, then to Waterman again. The Rock followed up with a beautiful belly to belly suplex on X-Pac taking X-Pac down to the ground before hitting Ron Waterman with a Samoan Drop. The Rock continued his domination in the match up clearing X-Pac out of the road before bending down beside Waterman! You know what time it is! ROCKBOTTOM! The Rock hooks the leg and the fans count for the 3 as the People’s Champion sends a message to Vince McMahon!

Winners – The Rock and Big Show
