  1. I didn't do much with my Pain Shop Pro today, however I did try playing around with a few new brushes to see if I couldn't come up with anything I liked...I had the feeling to do something about the movie the "Ring", so here is the banner i created. Let me know whatcha think.

    the_ring.jpg

EDIT: A quick question, I know I've had a lot of them...I thank all of you guys who've tried to help. If you look at my signature of Stacy Keibler you'll notice little lines going through it...(not the flag in the background)...is there a way to get those lines, do I need to use a brush, or is there a another way to do it?

  2. Does anyone know where I can find Paint Shop Pro brushes, or any good paint shop pro brushes. When I look for any I only seem to find flowers, and bears, and crappy ones, I did find one however, but I'm not really sure how to get them installed.

EDIT: I figured out how to import...just lookin' for some good places to find brushes

  3. Pretty much to begin with just take a soft brush and erase what you don't want. For big projects you will want to learn about layer masks, but for now erasing will be fine. And for what it's worth you're making excellent progress so far, keep it up.

You can put borders around the text quite easily. It's called a stroke. If you look at your layers pallete, right click on the text layer and select blending options. There will be a myriad of options in there, all of which you'll use at some point, but the one you want at the moment is 'Stroke' Click that box, and you'll see that the text gets a thick red line around it. That's your border, from there you can play with those settings. Usually a one pixel black border will be perfect, but you'll want to change this depending on what you want to achieve.

Any other photoshop questions, let em rip.

Also, if you post a picture of something you consider 'Glossy' I'll try and help you with that, I'm not sure what you mean at the moment.

  4. I've had plenty of fun screwing around with my Paint Shop Pro, but find it dumb that there aren't many good tutorials out there. If someone could help me out with a couple of questions.

1.) Is one of my big problems, first, is it possible to get nice thin looking text, not kinda of bulky looking.

2.) How do you get your entire graphic to look glossy?

    last

3.) When you've got a picture that you want to blend into your graphic, how do you go about doing this? Do you erase part of the picture, or is there a different way of going through this?

    EDIT:

Here is a graphic I tried putting together, I tried a couple new things, and tried workin' on the text. I'm not sure, I was looking for a way to put a border around the text, but I'm not sure if your allowed to do that. Anyway, this is what I've come up with.

  5. Alright, I just officially got Adobe Photshop. I used the trial version for a while so that I could cut and make my own kyky pictures for EWR/TEW. Now, I've decided that I want to try and learn a little more, so that I can begin to make signatures and graphics just like some of the top guys.

Anyway, I'm not really sure where to start. Are there any pointers getting started? Is it pretty easy to learn, and cut the hang of? Also, is there any place to kinda learn the ropes on how to use all the programs, so that soon I'll be able to make some sweet lookin' graphics?

    Thanks

  6. The first time I was Napoleon Dynamite I thought it was dumb, then I watched it again, and I just loved it. I also loved the fact that it was filmed in my state, but whatever. I've got to say that Napoleon is a 100,000 times better then that f'n ANDY MILONOKIS show...

  7. Alright, it's been a while sense I've heard anything about this...but could someone explain to me just what the whole Star Wars Shadows of the Empire was about? I never really understood it, but did infact think it was very interested at the time. I thought it was a very big idea at the time that it was released, but then I've never really heard anyone talk about it, it's like it just vanished.

  8. I've seen a really old zombie movie, I don't remember what it was called, but it had zombie that was learning how to use weapons, and he'd read a book and what not...something on SciFi.

That's the Day Of The Dead, the third movie in the Romero zombie trilogy, and yes, that fucks up the movie for me. Bub is an abomination that should have never been born, and Land Of The Dead only seems to take it further. The thing with zombies is that they are an unintelligent, ravenous horde of cannibals, not a sophisticated, coordinated hunting party. Bringing in intelligent zombies makes it less of a zombie movie than a movie with running zombies, IMO. At least the Dawn remake kept the basic personality of the zombies more intact.

  9. ok, so I haven't seen the film...but I see a lot of people who've had a problem with the Dawn of the Dead remake. Just do to the fact that the zombies could run. This is my thought, I'm a really big fan of the original zombie flicks. I'll take a zombie over vampires, frankenstein, etc.

when I first heard and saw that directors were going to lean into going with running zombies I didn't really like that idea. I saw 28 Days Later, but that doesn't fall in the same area, as they aren't zombies. I've seen a really old zombie movie, I don't remember what it was called, but it had zombie that was learning how to use weapons, and he'd read a book and what not...something on SciFi.

anyway, this new film doesn't really do it for me. However, when I saw Dawn of the Dead the remake, I saw very impressed. I like the fact that the zombies can run once they are infected, however, if you try and keep it real, after a while their motor skills should become no more, and soon all zombies should be slow.

This is how I'd do it to keep it real, and I don't mind that idea. I think Resident Evil (the game "outbreak") has gone in this same direction. I don't mind running zombies for a while, but zombies that learn how to use weapons to attack you would doesn't cut it for me.

  10. alright, I don't know if anyone remembers this. a many year ago there was a cartoon show that aired about I think it was random people who could transform into type of samurai warriors. Yes, I know it sounds dumb, I don't remember much about this should, and I was just thinking back to this a few days ago, wanting to see if I couldn't find someone who might remember the name of this show that aired.

I know I used to have an action figure that you could take the peaces of samurai armor off, and put it back on. back in the day, I thought this was a very cool show. I doubt anyone remembers it, but if someone does, please let me know.

EDIT: If I can remember right, I think the first part of the name of the show started with a T and then Warriors.

  11. Alright, well...I just got into the Lost season just a while back, and I got caught up on all of the episodes. This season finale was good. A lot of great questions left un answered, though I kinda was hopin' that they'd find the people in the back of the plane somewhere on the other island, maybe they had the fire going, did anyone notice the lady from Fast And The Furious talking with Matthew Fox in last week's episode, I hear that she'll be a regular from now on. I was blown away (no pun) when that one guy got blown up with the tnt, I knew it was going to happen, it just kinda happened a little faster then I thought. I wish they didn't kill off Shannon's brother, he was cool...maybe top three favorite people have to be Saywer, Locke, & Saiyed.

Another thing I kinda wanted to see happen, is the people on the boat end up back in the island, like the island didn't want them to leave, so they'd keep going out, but they'd always return...

Anyway, I can't wait for next season...

  12. I thought it was a really good episode, not as great as the last season finale, but I think it would have been kinda better to see Oliver come back and shoot the place up. Oliver is one freaky little bastered, anyone catch the remark by Seth when him and Ryan where in the pool? Anyway, I didn't expect Jimmy to return, I thought I read somewhere that he left the show, and that he got signed for another somewhere else. I think Sandy is the best part of The OC right now, he's just the coolest down to earth guy. This season, right up to the end, it seemed like Marisa's character kinda just filtered off...maybe it was just me.

  13. Could the reason for this second season not being so good, is because they've brought in so many new characters? I think the reason that the first season did so well, is because they had such great actors, plus they all worked well together...and the writers were able to focus more on each character to build on to the storylines? This is what seems to be the major problem for me this year...I don't really care for Zach, or Alex, or Lindsey...or whoever. I also didn't like the lady who might be carring Ryan's baby either. I'd also like to see more character development...I'd like to see Sandy in the court room personally, he's my top favorite character.

  14. well...I've been trying to find out information on these shows, I just saw the episode where Jimmy left, which pisses me off...because I really liked his character, and for some reason, when he had short hair he looked like Christian. Anyway, I hate that Jimmy left...I've also been hearing rumors that Caleb is going to be killed off, because he's leaving the show. I wonder if this will tie into the season finale when Oliver returns...

  15. alright, well I kinda just wanted to rant about The O.C., I don't know how many fans or non-fans are on the board. I always believed that The O.C. was crap, I never watched a show, until a couple weeks ago...and I have to say I got hooked, from the very first episode. I had to run out and buy the complete first season, and watched it completely through, now I didn't know that The O.C. was still going through it's second season, and I needed more, I saw that the DVD for the season 2 wouldn't come out until August, but I couldn't wait until then, so I started downloading episodes off the internet...anyway, I just wanted to know if anyone has heard any news on there being a third season, or if it's still as big of a hit as the first season.

(8:00-8:10) The Worldwide montage plays, as we head into the studio with Bobby Heenan and Mike Tenay. They recap the events of what happened earlier in the week, as well as some things that happened at Bash At The Beach. Tenay makes mention that it’s the Booker T era now that he’s champion, and it’s fresh to see. Heenan and Tenay argue for a couple of minutes before they talk about the confrontation between Goldberg and Kevin Nash. Who was the mystery assailant that attacked Nash, they also talk about that as well.

(8:14-8:26) Backstage, Mean Gene Okerlund stands by with the WCW Tag-Team champions Brian Adams and Bryane Clarke of Kronic. They both stand on opposite sides of Okerlund during the interview.

Mean Gene Okerlund: “You two will be in action later tonight, is that correct?”

Brian Adams: “We’re going to go out there and bust some heads!”

Bryan Clarke: “That’s what we do best.”

Brian Adams: “It won’t be a fare contest, for that to happen, it’d have to be 8-on-2!”

Bryan Clarke: “We’re going out there to snap some necks, and cash our checks!”

Adams and Clarke both walk off camera to leave Okerlund standing alone.

[singles Match] Ashley Hudson vs. Buff Bagwell: Not a shockingly good match. In the end, the crowd start to not even care about this one. Buff Bagwell would hit everyone of his signature moves on Ashley Hudson, which included the double under hook ddt, followed by the buff blockbuster from the second rope for the win! The ref raises Bagwell’s arm in victory, as he celebrates post-match.

The announcer’s talk about Vampiro and his ever so growing dark carnival. The Great Muta was the last victim of his to join the dark side. They make mention of the mind games being played on Vampiro, and that he challenged Sting to show himself this week on Nitro!

Footage from The Great American Bash: Vampiro d. Sting, he falls 45 feet on fire from the top of the turnertron!

(8:31-8:45) [singles Match] Corporal Cajun w/ Major Gunns vs. Mike Sanders: Decent match up between the two. In the end, we saw “Above Average” Mike Sanders with an advantage over the Misfits In Action’s own Corporal Cajun. Sanders would get a school boy, and hold onto the tights, but it wouldn’t be enough for the three count. Cajun nails Sanders with a top rope rocker dropper for the one, two, three! Major Gunns joins Cajun in the ring, and they celebrate the win.

(8:48-9:02) The announcer’s hype New Blood Rising, and run down the card for the event. Bobby Heenan talks a little about this weeks Nitro, and how jam packed of an event it’s going to be with the huge caged heat elimination match! They talk more about Booker T and Jeff Jarrett, and hype their match at NBR for the title.

[Tag-Team Match] Corey Williams & James Storm vs. Kronic: Decent match between both teams. Short and sweet, just the way it should have been. The fans were totally behind Brian Adams and Bryan Clarke of Kronic. They quickly overpowered the two jobbers to start things off. James Storm would show a little offense, but would fall victim to a meltdown from Clarke! Adams and Clarke set Corey Williams up, and deliver the high time! Kronic pick up the victory.

    The New Blood Has Arrived!

    - The new blood has arrived in World Championship Wrestling. It couldn’t be a happier time for the company, as the confrontations between the WCW World Heavyweight champion Booker T and “The Chosen One” Jeff Jarrett draw in new fans. The question is, is it to late for an improvement? It’s no secrete that the backstage politics have hurt the company over the past several weeks, but ever seen Booker’s win at Bash At The Beach, it seems to have helped development, and proven to draw in a slightly larger number of fans. This is indeed a make or break time for the company as they head into New Blood Rising on pay-per-view, that’s just around the corner. Will we continue to see a rise in the next couple of weeks, or is this just a slight improvement, with no hope in WCW’s future?

    Worldwide On TBS!

    - World Championship Wrestling has decided to move their weekly syndicated show entitled Worldwide to TNT’s sister network TBS the Superstation. This move was made by Time Warner executives, in an attempt to help fill vacant spots on the network, not filled by other programs. Worldwide will now air early morning at around 10:00 a.m., and 7:00 p.m. in the evening on Saturday. Many don’t expect this to be a wise move, but it won’t effect WCW’s budget, and it will also help try and improve competition for World Wrestling Federation’s “b” show Heat on the USA Network. WCW will also begin to air a replay of Thunder on Saturday at 1:00 a.m. on the Superstation, which won’t be anything new, as they already air a replay of Nitro, Monday at midnight. In place of Worldwide on the syndicated networks, WCW will begin to air a weekly recap show that will begin in the fall.

This week, Nitro will air live from the Sheraton Hotel in S. Padre Island, Texas. It was just last week that Lance Storm won the one night eight man title tournament to become what he claims is now the WCW Canadian Heavyweight championship title. Last week, we also saw one of the most dangerous alliances ever formed between “The Chosen One” Jeff Jarrett and “Big Poppa Pump” Scott Steiner when they attempted to destroy the WCW World Heavyweight champion Booker T! Stevie Ray would come to the aid of his brother, which would set up the tag-team reunion of Harlem Heat on Thunder. Goldberg and Kevin Nash also fought in an anything goes final encounter, which would see a mystery unknown assailant attack “Big Sexy”, that would allow Goldberg to pick up the victory! WCW.com has learned that Nash will be at Nitro, live, and he has revenge on his mind…

The tag-team division has been nonstop carnage for the past several weeks. We’ve seen confrontations between the young up and comers Mark Jindrak and Sean O’Haire, former world tag-team champions Chuck Palumbo and Shawn Stasiak of The Perfect Event, Corporal Cajun and General Rection of the Misfits In Action, and The Filthy Animals! Last week on Thunder, an all out brawl would erupt backstage that would force commissioner The Cat to book all four teams in a huge four team caged heat elimination match for Nitro! There is no telling what will happen when these four teams set foot inside the steel cage, but it’s one match you won’t want to miss.

It was on Thunder that we would learn of a new match added to New Blood Rising that takes place on Sunday, August 13th, live from the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Misfits In Action’s own Major Gunns will take on Ms. Hancock in a grueling “Rip Off The Camouflage” match! This week on Nitro, we’ll get a taste of that match, when Gunns will team up with M.I.A. own Sergeant A-WOL to take on Hancock and David Flair in mixed tag-team action!

In a rematch from Bash At The Beach, Lieutenant Loco of the Misfits In Action will defend his WCW Cruiserweight championship against Juventud Guerrera of The Filthy Animals! Lt. Loco was able successfully defend the belt on pay-per-view just two weeks ago, will he be able to do the same again? Juvi Guerrera will look to bring gold to The Filthy Animals in this contest, which will surely be a match you won’t want to miss!

Tune in this week on Monday night Nitro, at 7/8 CT; live on TNT to watch it all unfold.
