WWE: Raw Vs Smackdown

Jam

Recommended Posts

The date starts October 1st, the next show is No Mercy but wait, that means that you have missed both Raw and Smackdown this week. However will you live? Well I will fill you in

Raw

Randy Orton, Christian, Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho, Shelton Benjamin, Edge, Ric Flair and Kane were the wrestlers announced as potential challengers to Triple H at Taboo Tuesday. McMahon also announced the PPV to be on the 19th October. Results will be announced on WWE.com on the Wednesday 6th October

Christy Hemme was thrown a celebration party by Trish Stratus, which resulted in the womens champion assaulting Christy, leaving her to be carried out on a stretcher

Tajiri competed in the opening match against Kane, in what was a squash...but Tajiri won by disqualification. Kane was livid and ended up chokeslaming Tajiri on the ramp. He said something about a path of destruction. Rhyno came out with a chair but also got chokeslammed.

We are told the stipulation choices to vote for as part of the Eugene/Bischoff match. More on that later.

Chris Benoit is upset that he isn't on the list to face Triple H, and he teams up with Orton later to take on Batista and Flair

William Regal is in action next, taking on Chuck Palumbo. Decent match, but Regal won with the STF. Batista then come out and laid a beating on Regal

Victoria, Stacy and Nidia team up now to take on Gail Kim, Molly Holly and Jazz. The 3 winners will be added to a Taboo Tuesday poll to take on Trish Stratus. Victoria hit the widows peak on Kim and the faces are now in the running

Evolution promo, and Triple H says no matter who it is he faces, he'll beat them all

Tyson Tomko takes on Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho now. Jericho ended a short match with the Walls of Jericho. Christian ran in and assaulted Jericho before Michaels made the save. Edge ran in and speared all 4 men.

Shelton Benjamin is excited about the prospect of taking on Triple H, but is assaulted by Evolution

Main event, and Orton and Benoit take on Flair and Batista. Benoit got the win here by making Flair tap to the Crippler Crossface. Triple H ran in, before Kane ran in and flattened everyone

Smackdown

Kurt Angle reminds us that he isn't scared of Big Show going into No Mercy, as Show tonight takes on Luther Reigns and Undertaker takes on Orlando Jordan

6 man tag team match kicks us off, with Kenzo, Rene and Spike take on Misterio, RVD and Shannon Moore. Lightening kick match, accept when Kenzo was in. Shannon Moore scored an upset win here, when he school boyed Spike Dudley for the win. Spike got so annoyed, he challenged Shannon Moore to a match at No Mercy. Moore accepted

Theodore Long is backstage, and tells Angle that no-one is allowed at ringside during his match at No Mercy. Feel that playa?

Booker T takes on Billy Gunn in a US Title warm up match. Booker gets the win with the scissor kick

Cena is backstage and lays a verbal beatdown on Booker

We are reminded, that if Kidman quits on Sunday then he is fired. Now he is taking on Nunzio. Kidman gets the upper hand and goes up top, but don't hit the SSP. He climbs down and London appears, and don't let Kidman leave the ring. Nunzio gets the roll up, and it appears to have annoyed Kidman

Eddie Guerrero takes on Mark Jindrak now, and gets the win with a frog splash. Luther assaults Eddie with a chair

Heidenreich is sat in a darkened room, Cole flees the building

John Cena takes on Johnny Stamboli and gets a win in short circumstances. Booker comes in to make the assault

Show threatens Angle with revenge for shaving his head last week

Undertaker beat Orlando Jordan in 2 minutes with the Last Ride. JBL clocks the deadman with the belt, but Taker sits up

Main event time, and Show and Luther goes to a no contest when Eddie, Angle and Jindrak all run in

No Mercy

We are live as Michael Cole and Tazz hit the pyros for us, to welcome us to what should hopefully be an enjoyable No Mercy

Michael Cole: We are live for WWE No Mercy; I’m Michael Cole alongside Tazz and Tazz, what a night we have in store

Tazz: No doubt about it. 4 huge title matches, but none bigger than when The Undertaker challenges John Bradshaw Layfield in the first ever last ride match

Cole: I would not want to be JBL in that one Tazz. It should be an unforgettable match, as should Kurt Angle challenging The Big Show

Tazz: Show has been looking forward to this one for nearly 6 months. Since Angle suspended him, and he has severe built up anger

Cole: Which escalated when Angle shaved Big Show bold

Tazz: No doubt about it Cole, it’s going to be a real rocketbuster

Cole: And we open up with the tag team title

The Japanese music of Kenzo Suzuki plays, and he walks out with Rene Dupree and Hiroko. She has both the Canadian and the Japanese flag with her, as the champs make their way to the ring. ‘619’ plays throughout the arena, and Rey Misterio hops out to an amazing response from the crowd, and waits on the ramp for his partner, Mr Thursday night, Rob Van Dam. Van Dam and Misterio slide in and we are underway

Tag Team Title Match

Kenzo Suzuki and Rene Dupree Vs Rey Misterio and Rob Van Dam

We have a brawl to start with, which sees the heels retreat to the outside. Order is soon restored and Van Dam and Dupree start. Dupree does the Dupree shuffle, but takes a slap to the face by RVD. Dupree charges but goes down with a drop toe hold and Van Dam has the advantage. Suzuki gets tagged in, and gets more of a hold on the match, but RVD gets back into it and tags in Misterio

Misterio hops in and huracaranas Suzuki before continuing it with punches. Hiroko provides the distraction and Dupree manages to get a cheap shot in to change the flow of the match. Suzuki and Rene soon begin the double team, with quick tags which Tazz claims brought them to the dance. Suzuki and Dupree hit a double powerbomb, but the pinfall only gets 2. Dupree lifts Misterio up, and signals for the Death Valley Driver, but Misterio counters it with a DDT. Tag to Van Dam and he cleans house. Suzuki attempts the Faceclaw STO, but Van Dam counters with a downward spiral. Dupree takes a shot to the head, and Van Dam heads up top. Misterio hits the 619 to Dupree, while Van Dam nails Suzuki with a five star frog splash for the victory

Winners: Rob Van Dam and Rey Misterio

77%, ***

Dupree rolls to the outside and Suzuki follows, as Misterio and Van Dam stand in the ring with their newly won tag team titles

Cole: They did it! Van Dam and Misterio are the new tag team champions

Tazz: I’m surprised, I thought Suzuki and Dupree were going to be a tough duo to beat but I was wrong

Cole: And who’s it going to be who beat RVD and Rey Misterio?

We skip backstage where the Dudley trio and stood in a room. Spike has the cruiserweight title over his shoulder

Spike: You two let yourself down last week. Where were you? WHERE WERE YOU? Both of you. I expect you to do one thing and you can’t even manage it. Both of you, absolutely pathetic!

Bubba: Come on Spike, it was only Shannon Moore

Spike looks pissed off by that statement, and proceeds to slap Bubba

Spike: Only Shannon Moore? What do you mean by that Bubba?

Bubba: Well, I, er, it’s just, er

D-Von: Spike, what Bubba means by that is that we expected you to have not needed our help. I mean, Shannon Moore just got lucky against you on Smackdown. It’s not going to help again. We’ll make sure of it

Spike: That’s what I was hoping, because if you’re saying that I’m not good enough to beat Shannon Moore, then God help you Bubba.

Spike marches off as Bubba and D-Von stand still. They make sure he’s gone before talking again

Bubba: You don’t think that he’ll tell him about this do you?

D-Von: I hope not

The Dudley duo then leaves, as we come back to Cole and Tazz

Tazz: Did I hear that right? The Dudley Boys seem to be scared of someone

Cole: But it does answer a lot of questions, yet make new ones. I mean, Bubba and D-Von obviously listen to Spike because Spike has someone else who can step in, but who is this person?

Tazz: Got me Cole, but I don’t think I want to know

VIVA LA RAZA! Echoes throughout the arena, and Eddie Guerrero drives up in one of his vehicles, and the hydraulics go up and down. He slides in to the ring in preparation for his upcoming match, and his opponent begins making his way out alone, Luther Reigns. They stare each other down as the match gets under way

Eddie Guerrero Vs Luther Reigns

Eddie charges Luther, but Reigns simply pushes Guerrero away and we appear to be heading for a typical big man/little man match. Guerrero bounces off the ropes but the shoulder block gets nothing. Guerrero goes to what he does best and uses his initiative to take Luther down with a dropkick to the knees, and then some slaps to rough him up.

This served no purpose but to anger Reigns. Luther powered back and slammed Eddie into the corner, where he began choking Latino Heat. Luther tossed Eddie across the ring by the throat and put the boots in. It looked to be heading for a short match, but Eddie punched his way out of a Luther powerbomb attempt, and countered with a hurracarana. Eddie went up top and hit a frog splash, but the referee never made the count. Instead Mark Jindrak who was now at ringside was distracting him. Eddie went over, and Jindrak slid a pipe in under the ref. The ref never noticed, but Eddie did and quickly clipped Luther with it around the knee, and slid it out of the ring. Eddie got the referees attention and scored the three count, to help him get back on the right track

Winner: Eddie Guerrero

75%, **3/4

Cole: A huge win for Eddie Guerrero

Tazz: He used his smarts, but had to use a lead pipe to beat Luther Reigns

Cole: A lead pipe brought in by Mark Jindrak, and Eddie had the match won anyway

Tazz: We’ll never know Cole

Cole: Anyway, I understand Josh Matthews is with John Cena

So we go to Josh Matthews along with John Cena, with his usual bling.

Josh: John Cena, tonight it is the final match in the best of five series, what are your thoughts on the match tonight with Booker T

Cena: What are my thoughts? Josh, THE CHAMP IS HERE!

Big pop as always for that one

Cena: Booker T, you may have won two straight over me but that counts for nothing tonight. I mean dog, it’s a level playing service. You have no championship advantage. You have no advantage, and therefore you have no way of beating me tonight. There’s also one more thing Josh

Josh: What’s that?

Cena: It goes out to Booker T, and it goes like this…You can’t see me

Cena walks off as Josh tries to keep a straight face, and we are straight into the next match…

79%

Cruiserweight Title Match

Spike Dudley Vs Shannon Moore

Spike attacks Shannon as he slides into the ring, and begins the beatdown we’ve expected. Scoop slam by Spike and he goes to the second rope, and a two footed stamp. This one looks like it could be over shortly but Shannon Moore kicks out. Spike argues with the ref, and Shannon rolls him up for a 2, and we have shades of Smackdown. Spike snaps at this, but Moore dodges everything Spike does, and manages to throw some offence together. Shannon even goes up top, but Bubba and D-Von make their way to ringside. Shannon jumps down and begins yelling at them, allowing Spike Dudley plenty of time to hit the Dudley Dog for the three count

Winner: Spike Dudley

58%

After the match, Bubba and D-Von slide in, and Spike demands his half brothers do a beatdown. Bubba tries to get Spike to change his mind, but receives a slap for his troubles. Bubba seems nervous at first, but he and D-Von give into Spike and drop him with a 3D. Spike stands over Shannon Moore with the belt raised in the air, and orders his half brothers to leave with him

Cole: This person who Spike has watching his back, he must be someone special

Tazz: No doubt, I’ve known Bubba and D-Von long enough to know that they wouldn’t cower from Spike like that

We cut to a video package for Carlito Caribbean Cool, who will be making his in ring debut on Smackdown this coming Thursday

Another video package is shown, featuring Kidman’s inability to hit the shooting star press. It reminds us that if Kidman quits, he’s fired. Back in the arena Kidmans music hits, and he walks out seemingly more determined, but cautious at the same time. Paul London runs to the ring and spears Kidman for the start of the match

If Kidman Walks Out, He’s Fired

Billy Kidman Vs Paul London

London takes Kidman down to the mat and hammers away with right hands. Kidman quickly slides out and backs off. A ‘quitter’ chant starts which frustrates Kidman. He gets back in and a tie up, where Kidman gets a cheap shot in and quickly changes the flow of the match. Kidman with some shots to the ribs, before asking London who the quitter is now. London quickly gets back into this and hits a DDT. Leg drop follows it up, and he heads up top, looking for a shooting star press, but Kidman pulls the ropes from under him.

Kidman is now in firm control. Sleeper hold by Kidman, but London keeps his arm up at 2 and a half. London gets back up but a boot to the ribs, and the BK Bomb. Kidman heads up to the top rope, and the fans urge him to do the Shooting Star Press. He thinks about it, before climbing back down and walking up the ramp. London is now back up and chases him, but it’s a set up as Kidman clotheslines London in a cheap shot. London gets back in the ring as does Kidman, and London questions what Kidman is doing. Kidman attempts a clothesline, but it’s ducked and London hooks in a German suplex attempt. Kidman blocks it, and hits a low blow into the BK Bomb for the cheap win

Winner: Billy Kidman

73 – Kidman completed his turn successfully

The ref checks on London as Kidman quickly heads up the ramp

Cole: What a down right dirty tactic by Kidman, using a blatant low blow to beat Paul London

Tazz: I didn’t see it Cole, I don’t know what you’re talking about

Cole: Anyway, up next is the best out five-decider match and I cannot wait

Tazz: I agree with you on this one. Cena won two months ago at Summerslam, but Booker came back two straight over Cena, before Cena took it to this

Backstage we go, and Kurt Angle is warming up when Theodore Long walks up to him

Long: Kurt Angle, lemme holla at da playa

Angle: What?

Long: What I mean Kurt, is tonight, you have a huge match wit da Big Show, now can you feel that

Angle: Look Theodore, Mr. Long, if you would like to cancel the match, I mean, I think I’ve come down with a fever and if these people were to catch something it would be a terrible shame

Long: Lemme me just think on this Kurt. No! Tonight, you and da Show go one on one and I wish you luck Kurt, now believe dat

Theodore Long then walks off as Angle watches on, nervously

A video plays, highlighting what Tazz just said and we follow it up with the entrances, Cena gets cheered, Booker don’t and that’s what you need to know

Undisputed United States Title Match

Booker T Vs John Cena

Both men circle each other as we are set to get underway here. Tie up collar and elbow, but neither man got the advantage so they break, and decide to have a test of strength. Booker T takes the edge with the knee to the ribs and pounds away at Cena, before taunting the crowd. Booker goes for a knee drop and misses, in which Cena gets to do his you can’t see me motion

Booker charges Cena, but Cena leapfrogs and clotheslines the back of Bookers head. Booker T is down which allows John Cena to hit his patented five knuckle shuffle for a 2 count. Cena argues with the ref, and Booker schoolboys for the two. Booker then takes his turn to argue, and takes a German suplex from Cena, and another, but the Bookerman uses his strength to escape a third. Booker whips Cena to the ropes and hits the huge side kick, which calls for a Spinaroonie. Booker successfully does it, but gets up straight into an F-U. Cena swings Booker around, but Booker jumps out of it and hits a boot to the ribs. Scissor kick, but Cena dodges it and hits an F-U, 1…2…3. Cena won it; he beat Booker in the fifth match.

Winner: John Cena

81%[

Cole: Cena did exactly what he said he would. He went 2 straight in the last 2 matches over Booker T

Tazz: I’m surprised. I didn’t think he could do it but he did

Cole: And Cena will represent the US the way it should be

John Cena walks backstage with the belt over his shoulder, and we cut to another locker room. This one decorated smartly, with pictures of JBL on the walls, and leather sofas. JBL climbs onto a table with the belt over his shoulder. He’s surrounded by Orlando Jordan, Gangrel, Viscera, the FBI, Mark Jindrak and the Bashams

JBL: Now you may all be wondering just why I brought you here and the answer is simple, I know how to beat the Undertaker, and how to make you rich

The ‘jobbers’ talk amongst themselves, sounding quite excited by this

JBL: Now I’m going to show you this clip and then why you are here

The clip shown on the wide screen is off The Undertaker against Yokozuna at the Royal Rumble in 94. The very match where Mr Fuji and 10 associates of his helped Yokozuna put the Undertaker in the casket

JBL: Now that night, Yokozuna retained his belt. The concept of the casket match is similar to the concept of the last ride match, in that you have to stick your opponent in it. Now, if I beat the Undertaker tonight, then I can guarantee you will all become wealthy men. Now think about it, and you in or out?

The heels begin cheering and start a JBL chant, to which JBL cracks a fake smile and we play a video for the Kurt Angle/Big Show feud

67%

Cole: JBL doing all he can to defeat the Undertaker tonight

Tazz: He’s played it smart. He’s obviously studied his opponent and that’s a good way to beat The Undertaker.

Cole: Well up next is a huge match, Kurt Angle takes on the Big Show and it’s clear that Kurt Angle does not want any part of the Big Show

Tazz: Can you blame him? Big Show tried to end Angle’s career. Angle shaved Big Show bald and Big Show gets chance for revenge

Cole: And due to Theodore Long barring anyone from ringside, he has to do it alone

‘Medal’ plays and a very reluctant Kurt Angle makes his way out to a huge ‘you suck’ chant. Big Shows music plays and he makes his way out. When he steps over the top rope, Angle flees to the outside and leaves Show in the ring for a moment

Kurt Angle Vs Big Show

Show goes outside and gives chase to Angle. Angle runs around the ring before sliding in and backing into the corner. Big Show backs Angle up, as Angle gets one or two weak shots in before being knocked back down with a huge headbutt. Big Show grabs Angle by the throat and picks him up in the air, but instead of hitting the chokeslam he just talks trash, before throwing Kurt down to the mat. Angle scampers back to his feet and takes a big boot. Show poses for the crowd but has his knee clipped by Kurt Angle.

Angle now takes the advantage and applies a leg grapevine, as Big Show winces in pain. Cole points out that Big Show just had his knee surgically repaired. Angle releases the hold, and locks in a figure four leglock. Big Show screams in pain, before using his strength to turn the hold and apply pressure on Angle. Show releases the hold, and struggles to pull himself to his feet. Angle quickly gets up and attempts a German suplex, but takes an elbow to the head. Show misses a clothesline, and Angle pulls out an Angle slam out of nowhere, 1…2… but the referee sees the foot on the ropes. Angle gets up and protests, but quickly locks on the Angle lock. Big Show tries to pull himself back towards the ropes, but Angle drags him away. Big Show screams in anger, but manages to use his size 18 to boot Angle away. Angle again complains, but goes outside. He brings in a steel chair and waits for Show to get up. The referee intervenes and takes the chair. Angle protests but gets grabbed around the throat by Big Show. He goes to lift Angle up, but takes a blatant low blow, in front of the referee. Big Show collapses as the referee calls for the bell.

Winner via DQ: Big Show

85%

Angle was not happy however, and took the steel chair he had just brought into the ring. He cracked it over the skull of Big Show, and then one to the back. Angle then walked to the back as if he had just won the match

Cole: Kurt Angle with a despicable display of professionalism. He knew he couldn’t beat the Big Show cleanly, so he had to use a steel chair to assault the Big Show

Tazz: One thing for sure Cole, I would not like to be Kurt Angle now

A video package of The Undertaker/JBL feud plays, and ends with the hearse being driven to the ring

Tazz: This will be something, there’s a huge target on The Undertaker’s head and several people will attempt to become rich

Cole: This will not be for the faint hearted.

JBL’s music plays, but due to the hearse being at ringside he is unable to be coffered to ringside so walks, alongside Orlando Jordan. Orlando, like JBL is dressed in his wrestling gear. The lights go blue and the gong sound, but there is no sign of the Undertaker. JBL starts smiling, and then panics when Undertaker pops out the boot of the hearse. He slides into the ring and clotheslines Orlando Jordan before unloading on JBL

Last Ride Match for the Heavyweight Title

The Undertaker Vs John Bradshaw Layfield

This looks to be a handicap match early on, as Orlando jumps on to the back of Taker but quickly gets thrown off. Undertaker plants him with the chokeslam. JBL has crawled to the outside of the ring but is chased by The Undertaker. Taker whips him into the ringpost and follows up with a clothesline. JBL is down, and knocked senseless by a chair shot to the skull.

Cole mentions this could be a massacre, as Undertaker no-sells a shot chair shot from Orlando. Instead Orlando Jordan takes a big boot and gets thrown into the crowd. Undertaker grabs JBL and takes him to the hearse, but is unable to lift him into it as JBL hits a low blow. Bradshaw Irish whips Taker into the barricade and throws him into the crowd. Orlando Jordan jumps Taker in the crowd and puts the boots in. Taker fights back and hits another chokeslam to Orlando, this time on to several chairs in the crowd.

Undertaker hops back over the barricade, but this time is met by Gangrel and Viscera. JBL directs traffic as they throw Undertaker into the ring. Viscera goes for a big splash, but Taker dodges it. Gangrel goes over the ropes and Viscera takes a clothesline. Viscera rolls to the outside in pain, as Taker calls JBL in. Bradshaw grabs a chair before cautiously sliding in, as Mark Jindrak jumps Undertaker from behind. JBL then runs in with a chair but inadvertently flattens Jindrak. Taker boots the chair into the face of JBL. The Bashams and The FBI also run out to join in the assault and we are now at a 9-on-1 advantage in favour of JBL

Undertaker still manages to hold them at bay, and it’s practically 8 with Orlando Jordan out of the equation. Taker shoves the Bashams and the FBI away and its elbows all round. Taker grabs the chair and slams it into the skulls of Doug and Danny. Nunzio jumps on Taker’s back, but Taker flips him forward and plants him with a tombstone. Stamboli receives the last ride to the canvas. Taker slides outside and picks up Gangrel, and chokeslams him on to the steel steps. Jindrak takes a back body drop on to Gangrel. Taker begins chasing JBL, but is cut off by Danny Basham, who simply takes a chokeslam through the announce table.

Taker chases JBL up the ramp, past the hearse and to the entrance, where someone clotheslines him. The camera goes in and reveals Mark Henry stood above The Undertaker. Mark Henry throws Taker into some of the steel structure, and allows JBL to nail a clothesline from hell to the Undertaker. They drag Taker to the hearse, and open it up. Taker gets bundled in, but they can’t close the lid. Taker powers back out of it and chokeslams Henry and JBL. Doug Basham joins in, but gets tombstoned on the concrete. Undertaker throws JBL into the hearse and manages to shut it to win the title

Winner: The Undertaker

79%

The Undertaker grabs the belt and slides into the ring. He goes down to one knee and raises it up. Mark Henry slides back in and takes a tombstone to the mat, to top off a triumphant night for The Undertaker

Cole: Against all odds, The Undertaker successfully won the Heavyweight title

Tazz: Look at the carnage though Cole. Gangrel on the steps, Jindrak on Gangrel, Henry and the FBI in the ring, Doug Basham on the ramp, Danny Basham on what was our table, Orlando Jordan may well be dead in the crowd and JBL stuffed in that hearse

Cole: For Tazz I’ve been Michael Cole and we’ll see you on Smackdown

As Cole finishes, Taker gets into the hearse and drives it up the ramp as we close the show

Card Rating: 73%
