I just got done watching "Rope" on AMC. I'd never seen it before and I was completely blown away. Really ahead of it's time in terms of the eight minute takes. Anyways, made me make a list of my top 5 Hitchcock movies....

1. Vertigo

2. Notorious

3. North by Northwest

4. Rope

5. Rear Window

What are your top 5?

I don't really understand the appeal with Hitchcock or his movies, I studied them in great depth at college, severly overrated in my opinion. Sorry to put a negative spin on things, but I've gotta tell you.

I didn't say Vertigo was overrated so don't even bother trying to use that tactic, I'm saying Hitchcock and his films as a whole are overrated in my opinion, I don't understand the mass discussions on how great they are., I just don't get it.

Although I think the average man makes a better film critic than someone who people class as a movie buff, I like the way they can watch a dvd and just say 'that was shit' or 'that was brilliant' no thrills reviews really hit the spot.

I don't have favourite directors either, its easier that way.
