I think he's too fragile to be a good closer. Eventually, I can see him devolving into a long reliever for a contender but not a closer.

And certainly not a closer with the Red Sox. Foulke has been better than they expected.

Pedro won't be that welcome in New York. Not many Yankees fans want to see him in pinstripes.

I don't want to see him back in Boston though, so he may as well go south to the Bronx and have his career collapse there.

So, it now looks like Sammy will stay with the Cubs. The deal with L.A fell through because Sammy has a clause in his contract that states if he gets traded next year he will make $18 Mill. on a player's option. Green will be in his last year this coming season so the idea for the Cubs was to make payroll room for the offseason 05-06. Plus, Sammy has a no trade caluse and apparently isn't a fan of L.A.

I just read a report on "The Score Sports Network" here in Canada that the Jays are negotiating a contract with free agent third basemen and a fellow Canadian Corey Koskie. If they can get that deal done I'll be one happy camper. Why you ask, because that will mean Hinski is getting the hell out of Toronto!!! Koskie is a solid 3B both with the glove and the bat. He will easily be the best Canadian to ever play for Toronto (fuck Rob Ducey)!

Hinske isn't horrible, sure he didn't have a good year but he's still not the worst 3rd Basemen in the league, plus his age of 27 means he has a good 7-8+ years left in him.

Al though if they do get Koskie he would be a cheaper replacement for Delgado, which would free up more cap room for maybe 2-3 more middle-ranked players in the 2-3 million range who may not be all-stars but are solid players.

If the Jays sign Koskie, they could put him at third and put Hinske at 1st to replace Delgado. Hinske isn't great with the glove and seems like the kind of guy that would go good at first base.
