Hey, how long was this album on the charts? I've heard 10 years, I could be wrong but if somebody would tell me, that would be great.

Actually it was almost 14 years. 724 weeks to be exact.

I wonder how many albums were on this chart for the album to be selling so much that long.

It holds the all-time record. What helped the album sell so much, moreso than any other factor, was the engineering. In it's time, it was THE album to buy if you wanted to show off the new top-of-the-line stereo you just bought. If your record had a scratch on it, you'd buy another one. That explains the huge spike in sales once the CD format was introduced.

I thought it was #3. I'm pretty sure that The Wall, although imo a better album, didn't sell as much.

But the important part is that is syncs up with Wizard of Oz.

Thats The Wall not Dark Side Of The Moon. Its number 3 too. Dark Side is in the top 25 though.
