Michael Bay is set to direct a live-action version of "The Transformers" while Steven Spielberg will serve as the film's executive producer. The movie is expected to have a lot of special effects.

The movie will be based on the 1980s toy series of robots that morphed into bigger robots.

Meh it'll never be as good as Transformers: The Movie. Got that on DVD and it still rawks.

Bay needs to get plenty of wailing 80s soft rock guitars happening and it'll succeed.

I must admit, live action worries me.

Does that mean that the story will now be based around loads of humans with a love triangle at the centre of a Transformers war?

I'm highly anticipating this film, and I think Micheal Bay is a talented director and hope for the best. But the choice of who directs could be a lot better, and a lot worse. Imagine Uwe Boll or Paul Anderson took the project. I liked some of his movies, and the Island looks promising.

Hopefully they'll use some old actors for this movie like they did with Orson Wells in the cartoon movie.
