Films from Korea...

I just watched the Korean made film Oldboy, which I thought was amazing(if not a little disturbing) and was wondering other films from Korea I should check out. I heard that some of their films are very creative and different and I want to check out more films.

Thanks.

There was this one flick about a mute grandma and her spoiled brat grandson....

I can't remember the title of it, but it was done within the last 3 years...

Got it.

"The Way Home".

That's the only Korean film I know, but it was pretty decent.

Sympathy For Mr. Vengenace is also by Park Chan-Wook (director of Oldboy) and is supposed to be excellent.

So start there.

Joint Security Area is another film by him.

And yes, Oldboy was excellent. And annoyingly most people missed it because it didn't go into most smaller cinemas and even if it did, as it's Korean people tend to ignore it...

People call Wook the Korean Tarantino in the same way they compare Tarantino to Takeshi Kitano.

Attack the Gas Station. It touches me in such a way that if someone were to touch me in that way, I would be all "Mmm...that's a good way that you're touching me..."

er, yeah. Attack the Gas Station. Get it. DO EET.
