Graphics Block

Recommended Posts

I've hit a rough spot with my graphics recently: I either come up with ideas for a graphic that are still too complex for me, or I can't think of anything to do. My designs seem to be falling behind a little, and all in all I'm just having problems being creative. It ROYALLY sucks -.-

So I'm looking for a bit of creative advice from those with more experience (Dochappy, AJ, IWC, etc.)...have you ever had graphics block? How'd you handle it/what methods did you use to inspire you or get you more creative again?

Any advice at all is appreciated, and I'm hoping that I don't have to "ride this out" until it goes away. Especially with AT4 and this month's contest nearing a close

Yeah I've had "graphics block" before, actually for quite awhile. It's more commonly known as a rut, but yeah, you get the point.

I'm not sure how/if I got out of the rut so to speak. I mean, the only things I seem to be able to make are decent sigs, but otherwise I too come up with something that's beyond my league in the way graphics work, or I just don't have the mental capacity to go through with it because it looks like shit.

I dunno man, I hope to get out of it soon and I might because I kind of have a new passion for desgning again, which I haven't had in quite some time.

I'm in the same position as you Norris , for some reason everything I try (graphic wise comes out to be total shit. At first I thought it was the lack of good stocks and or brushes , but now I'm thinking I'm slowly phasing out on graphics . I still do an occasional sig and jobs and such but other than that nothing else good has came out . I really think its a lack of ideas. For the longest time I listened to Kittie Albums to get some kind of feeling , mood or theme for a graphic , but it jsut isn't doing it anymore. Hopefully I can get some great ideas for AT4
