WWE Velocity

July 9 2005 from Milwaukee,WI

Josh Matthews and Tazz

Nunzio/with Vito vs Psicosis/with Crazy and Juventud

Josh and Tazz briefly touch on Vito, saying that he appeared last thursday on Smackdown and saved Nunzio from a beating, but little is known about their connection. Match had two different portions, a faster, more high risk pace when Psicosis was on offense and a more deliberate, ground based affair when Nunzio was in control. Nunzio nails the Sicilian Slice and covers, but Juventud puts Psicosis leg in the ropes. This leads to Vito and Juventud brawling and Crazy uses this chance to come into the ring with a rake and break it in Nunzio's head. Piscosis goes up top and nails a Moonsault for the win. Solid match ***1/4

Winner: Psicosis(73,58,88)

The Family is back togheter

After the Mexicools leave the area, Vito calls for the microphone:

Vito:" I know many of you wonder who I am. Well let me introduce myself. I am Vito, the muscle in the family and I was ordered here by the Don to protect Nunzio from people like this Mexicools. People who dont play fair and keep cheating him out of his destiny and that destiny is to become the best wrestler in the world. Mexicools, you dont play fair, then you deal with the muscle.Capicce?"

Vito drops down the mike and hugs Nunzio and they marche backstage.(60%)

Heindenreich/Regal video

Video clips from last week when Heindenreich was defeated by Joey Mercury and then from Smackdown when Regal defeated Johnny Nitro. Heindenreich and Regal will face MNM in a non-title match on Smackdown next week! (73%)

Heindenreich and William Regal vs The Can-Am Cowboys

Can-Am Cowboys are non other than Sylvan Grenier and Lance(formely Garrison) Cade! Tag Teams in the WWE? Cade and Grenier looked green, but with time I suppose they can become a decent tag team. They do a lot of cheating like choking the faces with their whips. The leather jackets with the american and canadian flags are a nice touch too. But it's all about the cheating and the boring heat segment on Heindenreich of all people. Isnt he the big guy? Should'nt it be Regal selling for the heels? Makes no sense. Regal gets the tag and cleans house, pier 6 erupts. Heindenreich and Grenier brawl around ringside, Regal catches Cade with the Cobra Neckbreaker and covers for the win. Nice little touch bringing that move back as a legitimate finisher. MNM run in and attack the faces, The Cowboys help them and Regal and Heindenreich are layed out. ** for not being too bad.

Winners: Heindenreich and Regal(72,68,76)

Rey vs Eddie

More clips from the Rey vs Eddie feud. This time it shows what happened last week on Smackdown and the challenge for the Great American Bash. (81%)

Rey Misterio vs Juventud/with Crazy and Psicosis

Eddie Guerrero is on commentary. Absolutly fucking spectacular match, with a lame ending. Rey and Juvi absolutly outclassed every frickin' match from Raw or Smackdown in the last 6 months or so. The finish has Rey nail the West Coast Pop, but Eddie cant stand it and runs in with a chair to earn the DQ. The Mexicools leave when Eddie threatens them with the chair. Eddie proceeds to lay into Rey until referee's and EMT's make the save. Rey was badly busted open. Why wasnt this on Smackdown? ****1/4

Winner by DQ: Rey Misterio(84,73,95)

Batista/JBL clips

Clips from Smackdown with JBL and OJ beating Batista and Benoit thanks to a belt shot from JBL. Batista was busted open and then killed OJ with the Demon Bomb. They shill the PPV match.(84%)

Funaki vs JBL/with OJ

Just a big squash. Funaki has a couple of seconds of good offense in, before JBL murders him with the Clothesline from Hell in less than two minutes. No Rating for this. JBL just poses like a wrestling God until Batista's music plays. He never comes out, but JBL freaks out all the same as Velocity goes off the air.

Winner: JBL(74,73,76)

Overall: 70%

Sunday Night Heat

July 10 2005

Todd Grisham and Steve Romero

The Machine arrives!!

A video plays of "The Machine" Doug Basham. A voiceover is heard in which he is described as the perfect athlete.A true machine in the ring that can demolish the opposition. The voice sounds like Paul Heyman actually. (75%)

Val Venis vs "The Machine" Doug Basham

Very solid match to kick off Heat. Basham comes out alone, but wearing Demoliton-like gear, with leather straps tied in an X as a vest and leather looking tights, with big long black boots and kneepads. He comes into the ring and inmediatly  locks horns with Venis, sending him down with one push. He dominates practically the entire match, but Venis makes the comeback and gets two off a fisherman suplex. Venis gets a spinebuster and heads up top for the Money Shot, but Basham gets up and they fight for position....DEATH VALLEY DRIVER FROM THE SECOND ROPE!! Basham covers and the pin is academic. Grisham says that Basham calls that the "Executioner" and it looks like a killer move. Basham proceeds to toss Venis over the top rope and bow down....but to who? Then he gets up and leaves. *** for a good contest.

Winner: "The Machine" Doug Basham(75,73,78)

Big Show to make an impact?

Backstage, Big Show is interviewed by Maria. Big Show basically promises to dispose of Tyson Tomko tonight and move on to bigger and better things. He came to Raw to dominate, not to be in the second match on Heat and he is going to send a message to Eric Bischoff that he deserves better. Too bad for Tyson Tomko because he will be the messenger.

(83%)

Big Show vs Tyson Tomko

Tyson Tomko ambushes Show when he comes into the ring and manages to knock him down with the Big Boot, but only gets two on the cover. Show recovers and sends Tomko face first into the corner, then lifts him up and back down with a bodyslam. GOOZLE!! Chokeslam and this squash is over. At least they kept it short. 3/4*

Winner: The Big Show(74,72,76)

Clips from The Super Heroes and The Super Gays

Clips are shown off the feud between The Super Heroes and The Heart Throbs. Basically they recap the feud and make mention of the heels stealing the titles.(79%)

Rosey/with Hurricane and Stacy vs Romeo/with Antonio

Match is pretty acceptable by Rosey standards. He plays the fat, angry babyface very well kicking the shit out of Romeo for the best part of two minutes, but Romeo kicks out of several near falls with little assistance from Antonio. Antonio even fools Hurricane into coming into the ring after him, which the ref see's and tosses Hurricane from ringside!!! The finish is obvious by now as Antonio clocks Rosey with one of the belts and Romeo covers for the win. Overbooked to cover the fact that Rosey cant wrestle and Romeo is green. But it worked to keep the feud strong. **1/2. Now if they could only get more tag teams in the Raw side

Winner: Romeo(70,70,71)

Carlito/Shelton clips

They replay footage from Raw with Carlito getting himself counted out to keep his belt. They hype Hogan and Shelton vs HBK and Carlito tomorrow night.(76%)

Tajiri vs Carlito

Title is not on the line. Another fine match for Heat as Carlito plays his cheap heat tactics to perfection. I mean, he is like Piper and Honky Tonk Man in one package. He scurries around the ring and forces Tajiri to follow, so he can ambush him on the way back to the ring and take control. He does this everytime Tajiri gets some sort of offense in. On the third try, Tajiri doesnt fall for it and stays in the ring as Carlito laps once around the ring. Seeing that his plan is not working, he decides to walk out. But Shelton Benjamin runs in and attacks him, sending him back in the ring. Tajiri dominates, but once again, Carlito uses his smarts to get out of the situation, faking that Shelton pulled his leg on a whip and this gets the ref's attention to the outside, allowing Carlito to duck the Kick of Death and shove Tajiri into Shelton(who was on the apron arguing his case) and get a roll-up with a bunch of tights for the win. Carlito then poses with the Intercontinental Title and jaws with Benjamin, before spitting his apple on Tajiri's face!!! Tajiri fires back with the green mist!! Shelton in the ring now and the blind Carlito walks into the T-Bone Suplex!! Shelton poses over Carlito to send the crowd home happy. *** for a solid match.

Winner: Carlito(76,75,77)

Overall: 63%

Not as good as Velocity, but The Trifecta keep pouring out B shows that are worth watching.

WWE News and Notes:

By The Insider

Here are the weekly news and notes as well as rumors:

- The Trifecta is trying to undo the mistakes of the draft. They realise that some moves where made just for the sake of doing them with no plans whatsoever and they have done their best to rectify the mistakes. Armando Rodriguez and Harley Race, who are very old school minded came out with the idea to pair Lance Cade and Sylvan Grenier togheter as the Can-Am Cowboys. Heyman came up with the idea to pair Heindenreich and Regal following Regal's story with Eugene. They will continue building the tag division for the following weeks.

- Paul Heyman is set to make his Raw debut as the manager for "The Machine" Doug Basham at some point in the follwing weeks. The idea is to create a "Demolition" like stable. The original idea penned by Rodriguez and Race had The Shane Twins debuting as the final two members, but Heyman has been pushing for a new "Pitbulls" Tag team composed of Gary Wolfe and Tyson Tomko. Another idea had Tomko being paired with Kevin Fertig(Mordecai) who was released, but has remained in the radar of the Trifecta as one of the "mistakes". Fertig and Tomko paired togheter in OVW as "The Disiples of Synn" some time ago and it might be a good addition to the tag ranks. How will this affect the debuts of Gary Wolfe and The Shane Twins remains to be seen.

- The Dudley Boyz, D-Von and Bubba, are expected back around Summerslam.

- Eugene is set to return to the ring soon, possibly as a tag team with Tajiri. They will be using Regal as the background for their team and the Trifecta thinks they will make good comedy.

- Trish Startus's return has been pushed back and so has been the debut of Alexis Laree.

- The Trifecta is high on Monty Brown. For now he is expected to debut on Raw and make a splash, either on the Angle Invitational or The Masterlock Challenge.

- The bWo is expected to be heavily pushed after The Great American Bash.

- Rumor states that Muhammad Hassan could end up facing The Undertaker at the Great American Bash. In additions to this, plans are for him to face Chris Benoit for the US Title at Summerslam, which seems to guarantee that Benoit will beat OJ. In addition to that, JBL could turn face at some point after Summerslam and feud with Hassan.

- Simon Diamond refused an offer to sign with the WWE and re-team with Johnny Swinger. Right now, Swinger has being teamed with "The Idol" Aaron Stevens in OVW  and working a similiar gimnick to MNM. Another team down in OVW is composed of Danny Doring and Julio Dinero as "Money in the Bank".

I'm really hoping these smark reports aren't one hundred percent fact, otherwise it will really take away from the diary. If they aren't, then we're going to be in a few surprises then, no? =P

WWE Raw

July 11 2005

Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler

The Angle Invitational

Adam Firestorm vs Kurt Angle

Firestorm answers the call. The clock starts and the bell rings as Firestorm is smart enough to run around the ring wasting some time. He then lures Angle into the ring and connects a nice basement dropkick on him as he was entering the ring. He runs to the ropes again, but gets belly to bellied and then Angle locks the Ankle Lock for the submission win in less than two minutes. Angle then dumps Firestorm and mentions that next week another lucky underdog will get the chance to face him in the Angle Invitational once more.

Winner: Kurt Angle(68,58,79)

The Heart Throbs keep chasing Stacy

We cut backstage as The Hurricane and Rosey talk to Stacy and tell her to stay backstage as they head into the ring for Hurricane's match. Stacy accepts, but as soon as they leave Antonio and Romeo appear.Hilarity ensues as they dance around her and claim that she can be their godess. Romeo even grabs some ass, to which Stacy replies with a hard slap. Antonio now pushes Stacy into the wall and grabs her by the hair, threatening violence. They drag her by the hair and leave the area with her.(95%...Stacy=ratings)

The Hurricane/with Rosey vs Antonio/with Romeo and Stacy

They drag Stacy ringside, which gets a ton of heat and also sends Rosey and The Hurricane running for her. Rosey and Romeo brawl as Stacy is tossed hard into the floor, which leads to Hurricane checking on her and getting ambushed by Antonio. Rosey and Romeo leave brawling backstage. No mention is made of the stolen tag belts. Antonio controls the action back in the ring, but he mades a mistake when he tries a cross corner whip and Hurricane reverses and gets a monkey flip of the corner. Hurricane now controls the action as Romeo appears ringside with one of the tag belts. He passes it to Antonio, but Stacy grabs a piece of it and they struggle. Rosey runs out and chases Romeo away as Stacy and Antonio fight for the belt. Antonio shoves Stacy hard to the floor, getting more heat for it and prepares to attack Hurricane, but he ducks and dropkicks the belt into Antonio's face, which is enough for the pinfall win. Hurricane checks on Stacy and carries her backstage.**1/2

Winner: The Hurricane(69,70,70)

The Masterlock Challenge

Chris Masters comes out and calls for the mic. It's time for the Masterlock Challenge and he makes fun of Detroit, claiming it is such a bad place that even Larry Brown left their team. He offers $10,000, an autographed Ben Wallace jersey and a baseball signed by Ivan Rodriguez. He calls out any schmuck from this city to take his offer. None other than  Monty Brown shows up!!! Masters looks a little intimidated. Some fans start chanting "Pounce" at Monty. Masters tells Monty to sit down and he does, then gives him a polish hammer to the back of the head!!! He tries for the Masterlock, but Monty fights back and sends Masters outside!! The bell rings and this is officially a match.(76%)

Monty Brown vs Chris Masters

Masters carefully heads back inside the ring and locks horns with Monty. They have a test of strenght and it ends in a stalemate, much to the surprise and amazement of JR and The King, who are alredy sucking Monty's cock and giving him a verbal blowjob. They even cover to detail his football background. Masters whips Monty and takes him down with a clothesline, but he gets right back up. Monty dominates until a Polish Hammer takes him down. Masterlock is locked in!!! He is shaken from side to side and Monty is fading.....but the arm doesnt go down!! Monty fights out and sends Masters back first into the corner. He continues until Masters weaken the grip and then gives him an overhead toss breaking the hold!!! JR is ectasic!! Masters to the ropes...POUNCE!!! 1-2-3. JR is absolutly going nuts about Monty breaking the Masterlock and beating him on a match. **3/4, better than it had any right to be and I hope it kills the Masters push once and for all.

Winner: Monty Brown(70,67,74)

Carlito's Cabana: Guest John Cena

Carlito comes out but before he welcomes his guest, Cena makes himself at home. He takes down the palm trees and kicks the chairs out. He rips the mic from Carlito and says that he knows this is all a setup. If Jericho wants a fight, then come out and get some. Carlito pleads innocence and gets taken down by a right hand and kicked until he scurries out. The Champ is Here and he wants to know if his challenger is up for a fight and he aint leaving until Jericho comes out. Eric Bischoff comes out and demands that Cena leaves the ring. This was supposed to be a peaceful interview.Cena tells Bischoff to come to the ring and make him leave. Bischoff actually walks into the ring while theatening to strip Cena of the title if he touches him. Cena asks Bischoff if he wants to strip him of the title so bad, then take it. He throws the belt at Bischoff and then kicks him..F-U!!! Crowd goes ballistic!! Jericho ambushes Cena from behind, but Cena fights back. Unable to take down the champ, Jericho leaves the ring and walks backstage "like a scolded dog". Cena says that the same thing will happen at Summerslam, Jericho will try his dirty tricks and fail time after time. When the final bell rings, the champ will be standing tall and that's word!!

(90%)

Edge......or Adam Copeland speaks!!

After the break Edge comes out with Lita. He tells Lillian to introduce them again, this time as Adam Copeland and Amy Dumas. He says that for weeks now, that looser Matt Hardy has been attacking him during his matches. Edge is tired of it. He says that it isnt his fault that he is such a great lover that all women throw themselves at him. Matt is not half the man Adam Copeland is and that's why he is without a girlfriend and out of a job. Matt can keep coming for him time after time after time and that wont change the facts that Adam Copeland has Amy Dumas, has the million dollar WWE contract and is Mr. Money in the Bank. He tells Matt that he can go to Ring of Honor and beat all the midgets and wannabee's there and claim he is on top of the world, because Ring of Honor is nothing compared to the WWE. Ring of Honor is for the WWE what Detroit is for the United States, a place where all the rejects, the loosers and the wannabe's go. He tells Amy to leave the area because he knows Matt Hardy is in the area and he wants Matt Hardy to come out and face Adam Copeland one on one. No referee's, no security, no excuses, just two men looking to solve their differences like men do.

Matt comes out and they brawl. The hatred looks real as the blows flow trough, Matt and Edge are both red in the face out of anger and intensity.Plenty of bad words like son of a bitch are ushered as they brawl and the crowd goes nuts!!! But it was all a setup as security comes out and tackles Matt. He is handcuffed as Edge smacks him in the face while they drag him off.

Edge calls for the mic again. He tricked Matt. He has a match coming up with Val Venis and he wanted to make sure Matt wouldnt ruin it. Matt is still the same looser, he is one step ahead of him. Matt is irate, kicking and screaming as he is dragged off. Edge makes sure to give Lita some tongue action as Matt watches on. (87%)

Val Venis vs Edge

Val works so hard and doesnt get pushed. Poor man. Anyway, very good match as expected from this two, Val gets plenty of offense, but Edge wins clean with the Spear. Edge and Lita shared another wet one, but Matt Hardy runs out once again and runs both of them off. Matt calls for the mic. The Hardy Movement is on and no even security can get rid of him. Somebody wants him to get even and told security to release him. Edge can run but he cant hide, because Matt Hardy is in the house and nobody can throw him out. ***1/4 for the good match.

Winner: Edge(83,79,86)

But he gets arrested

Eric Bischoff comes out with police and has Matt arrested for attacking a wrestler and illegally entering the arena. Matt says somebody allowed him into the arena and he has permission to be there.Bischoff says that's crap and the police take him away. Matt yells at Bischoff telling him that next week his supporter will be revealed and Bischoff will pay the price. (87%)

Hogan and Benjamin talk

Hulk Hogan and Shelton Benjamin are both interviewed. Hogan says that tonight for the first time Hogan and HBK will be in the same ring aganist each other, for the first and last time until Summerslam. Tonight Hogan will prove Michaels that he is ready for him and he wont lay down for him. It also gives Benjamin a chance to get even with Carlito. Shelton says that Carlito has something that is his and tonight he will prove why he should be the Intercontinental Champion.Hogan says brother a lot and calls Shelton the new Showstopper. Hulkamania will run Michaels and Carlito off the building tonight.

(97%)

Hulk Hogan and Shelton Benjamin vs Shawn Michaels and Carlito

Great reaction for Hogan and heat for HBK. Michaels refuses to start with Hogan, so Carlito gets the honor and gets clobbered. Carlito goes for a quick tag to HBK and the crowd erupts, until HBK just poses and refuses to face Hogan. Hogan tags Benjamin and he and HBK do their thing. HBK with an eye gouge and tags Carlito back in. Carlito dominates with dirty tactics. HBK has enough and decides to walk. Hogan follows and they brawl around the ring. No in ring action, just punches and kicks, which was expected as they want to keep this for Summerslam. Carlito and Shelton carry a decent match in the ring that nobody is paying attention to. Carlito with a roll-up and bunch of tights for the win. Decent enough ***.

Winners: HBK and Carlito(82,87,73)

Overall:  82%

A couple of things wrong. Hogan and HBK was bait for the ratings and nothing was delivered. Just a little brawl and nothing else, plus they totally overshadowed Carlito and Benjamin, who where the ones who actually worked the match. Monty Brown's debut was solid, but where to now? The Raw roster is not deep enough to produce another feud and he might get lost in the shuffle. The Heart Throbs keep getting a push as they try to make them get enough heat for us to care, which is nice...only if we actually had more teams in the Raw side of things. Edge and Matt Hardy is finally picking up, but where to now? Who is the misterious benefactor? I think this silly bit will be the one to ruin the feud. Cena and Jericho keep doing their best to bring the house down, but enough with the interview segments that lead to a brawl every week. It will be nice for them to wrestle at some point before Summerslam. But at least it's nice to see a HHH free show and other people getting involved in the mix.
