Me and some friends are on an amateur filmmaker tip and we're looking to buy a video camera. Problem is, none of us have any clue what type of camera we need. We're only looking to make short films, nothing too flash, but we don't want it to look like some dodgy home video footage.

Any help/suggestions whatsoever would be appreciated.
